Why "In Jesus Name" We Pray?
When I was about sixteen years old I heard the Minister say; "In Jesus name we pray" I was in shock. My whole life I had been taught to pray to God. Now they say we are supposed to pray in Jesus name?
I went and ask the Minister why he said "In Jesus name we pray"? He showed me in the Bible the verse he was using for reference. In Colossians 3: 17 " And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
This went against what I was taught by my family and I couldn't accept it. In the Bible it says; Exodus 20:3-6 God said to Moses; "Thou shalt have no other gods before Me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in the heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a Jealous God,"

As a young man it seemed to me that praying in Jesus name was going against God.
The other point is, this is not the way Jesus told us to pray. In Mathew 6:9 "Pray then like this; Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." Nowhere in the Bible did he say pray in my name. I later found out this was the teaching of Paul not Jesus.
My true intention is to reach heaven. I had to find the right way. All through my life as a Christian I became more curious and as the title of this story says; I'm concerned with honesty, after all, our eternal life will be based on honesty. In the Old Testament, Deuteronomy 5: 19-20, two of the Ten Commandments, "And you shall not steal. And you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor".

Of course there is literal street of Gold in heaven. It is said that gold is the cheapest material in heaven.

I Like all these resonses. Its to teach you a lesson, stop asking people of interpretation. Theres no gift of interpretation of dream, It is not every dream that has a meaning. God is a master communicator.If he is God enough to give you a dream, he is God enough to tell you the interpretation if it has any.
Many dreams are just ordinary.

a christian is free to come out of a relationship if the partners turns away from christ. But there is a difference between sinning and being a sinner. What I mean is that ,the fact that a man does something wrong doesn't mean he has rejected christ . Until he confess with his mouth that Jesus christ is no lo ger lord . But If it has to do with attitude , he needs restoration and interession.

- The bible does not exactly teach that marriage is only 'until death'.

- Jesus showed that marriage could end due to some other condition being meet.

- This other condition could be argued to be a form of 'spiritual death'.

- Based on the above, an interesting argument could be tabled for 'spiritual death' being a scriptural basis for divorce and remarriage. However: note that the other specific case where divorce with the prospect of remarriage appears to be allowed in an extreme case. Modernism - even in the strictest of Christian sects - has meant other forms of 'extreme' reasons have been allowed for divorce (preceded by separation), and for some religions, remarriage even when the offending spouse is alive.

- You mention ' . . . living in sin that makes him spiritually dead'; this is rather ambiguous, the exact nature of the wrong would be important in some Christian religious sects. Separation would be 'easy' for a number of serious wrongs.
