Christianity EtcRe: Why Steve Wonder Is Still Blind by seyibrown(f): 11:08pm On Jul 31, 2010
If healing miracles are true then why does God not heal amputees and restore their amputated limbs?.
@Mazaje
If you are asserting that God does not heal amputees, do you know any amputee who has come to God (with faith) to ask for his amputated limb to be restored and wasn't healed?

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
I Thessalonians 5 v 21: 'But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good'

I John 4 v 1: 'Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.'

INVESTIGATE FOR YOURSELF. DON'T LET OTHER PEOPLE TELL LIE TO YOU THAT IT IS TRUE OR NOT TRUE! Also what are you looking to find? Is your mind already made up that it is a lie? Or do you want to find out the truth?

Not all who profess christ are true xtians. Not all true xtians understand the what the power of God in them can do. Besides, not all have the same gifts, not all desire the gifts of healing, not all are prepared to do what it takes to be a channel for the gift of healing and miracles.

It takes sacrifice, listening to God, having faith in what he's said, and doing what exactly he said to do.

How many are willing to fast for 7, 21 or 40 days for a sick person? How many are happy to stay up all night praying for a sick person? The MOG who prays at a meeting and the holy spirit moves, healing many at time, do you know how many days of fasting, listening, praying and obeying he has done?

James 5 v16:KJV J : Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much
God's Word Translation: So admit your sins to each other, and pray for each other so that you will be healed. Prayers offered by those who have God's approval are effective

Jesus did it, they did it, and we can do it too. Jesus told us about the signs that would follow those who believe. We can do it if we please God and have his approval.

@ PrinceEmek

I wonder why you twist my words and sort of say what I do not say. It can be easily deduced my responses to this post that I do not believe that God does not heal, he did, is doing and continues to do. While I agree their are 'wolves in sheep's clothing out there, there are also true men of God and we can tell which is which by what they do; those who we cannot yet tell whether they are of God, we will find out the truth about them in time . You seem to say that since Pastor Obadare has a 'blemish in his eye', God is not using him, citing scriptures. I cited scriptures in response concerning Jesus being our only high priest 'without blemish'. No pastor on earth stands enters into the veil on our behalf, Christ did it once and for all. Children of God are vessels that carry the power of God, they do not work miracles, God works it through them.

Darling, God heals; I have prayed for someone with a mental problem and they got healed. I have other people I am praying for and I know God will heal them too.

You seem to know a lot of scripture but do you truly understand the scriptures? Do you let the Holy Spirit interpret the scriptures to you?
Those who seek understanding will find it.

I do not agree that all healing is fake! I hope this one line helps you understand my opinion!

The moment you allow moral standards to slip in a society, especially with regard to the abomination of homosexuality in any form or shape, that society is on its way down.

You need not look further than the UK, where everything goes and the soceity is crumbling before our very eyes !

A morally guided society is a healthy one in which sane and beneficial decisions can be made, where our children are safe from perverts , where we are not subject to the henious crimes of gay marriage and its associated horrors.

Practise it in your closet and leave it there, but please do not push it on society !

Abomination !
Nothing truer!

Not everyone who preaches the word of God serves the Lord. Remember the Lord’s instruction regarding the time of the end.
Matthew 7 v 16: 'Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?'

People can do what they want in the name of serving God. But he all-important question is: Did God send them? Jer.27 instructs

There are many such Divine utterances, but I trust you get the picture. As you can see, the fact that those prophets teach not to serve the King of Babylon is not enough to make them servants of the Lord.
Luke 8 v 17 : 'For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light.'
Christianity EtcRe: Why Steve Wonder Is Still Blind by seyibrown(f): 2:01pm On Jul 30, 2010
Can you verify any of the above assumptions? Do you know, for a fact, that God intends to use the pastor’s blindness? Is the pastor certain the Lord sent for him? We sometimes mistake our desire for God’s calling.

What I have to write next may appear insensitive but it is the bible truth. Remember from the pages of the bible that God is not a God of confusion. Once any words have come out of his mouth, they are never rescinded. He is the God of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. There is no need citing these facts. In the light of that, why would God require Pastor Obadare’s services?

The 21st chapter of Leviticus reads:
“16] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
[17] Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.
[18] For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous,
[19] Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded,
[20] Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken;
[21] No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.
[22] He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.
[23] Only he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I the LORD do sanctify them.”
Jesus Christ is the only high priest who is without 'blemish' and who entered into the veil on our behalf, Pastor Obadare and any other physically disabled Ministers of God are only vessels.

Hebrews 7 vs 11-28 :
11 Now if perfection was through the Levitical priesthood (for on the basis of it the people received the Law), what further need was there for another priest to arise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be designated according to the order of Aaron? 12 For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also. 13 For the one concerning whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar. 14 For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests. 15 And this is clearer still, if another priest arises according to the likeness of Melchizedek, 16 who has become such not on the basis of a law of physical requirement, but according to the power of an indestructible life. 17 For it is attested of Him,  “YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER  ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK.”18 For, on the one hand, there is a setting aside of a former commandment because of its weakness and uselessness 19 (for the Law made nothing perfect), and on the other hand there is a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God. 20 And inasmuch as it was not without an oath 21 (for they indeed became priests without an oath, but He with an oath through the One who said to Him,  “THE LORD HAS SWORN  AND WILL NOT CHANGE HIS MIND,  ‘YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER’”);
22 so much the more also Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant.
23 The former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing, 24 but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently. 25 Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
26 For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens; 27 who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. 28 For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints a Son, made perfect forever.

Christianity EtcRe: Does Grace Mean That A Christian Has The Right To Commit Sin? by seyibrown(f): 12:22pm On Jul 30, 2010
If a person who does not believe in Jesus as the christian believes does not commit any sin. Is such a one who puts his/her hope on God Almighty Who Jesus His slave said sent him, is devoid of te salvation, mercy and forgiveness of Eloi (The God and Lord of Jesus)? Remember he/she does not believe in Jesus as Christians believe. Yet in all of the bruhaha about Jesus the servant of Eloi, the Christians say that salvation is of the Jews.

How do you figure this out, and what do you make of your condition if your deliberate sins can not be protected from getting you to lake of fire, even so that you believe that Jesus died for you? Is such a death not in vain in many ways; his death cant even prevent you from committing sins, deliberate sins for a start. even then, hs death however you package it could not get you scott free from getting punish, because you sin. are you punished by God, not by Jesus who cant even save you from your sins, as you have stated, because you do not believe in Jesus as Christians do? So whats the purpose of saying that salvation is of the Jews, since they do not beleive in Jesus? Are you saying that because the Jews are Jews, they are saved anyways, regardless? And the rest of us who are neither Jews nor christians are doomed?
What kinda God will punish sinless non-jews and depends on Him except that he does not believe Jesus to be Lord and or God, hence not a person who worships associates with GOD LORD ALMIGHTY CREATOR?
Do you know anyone who has not committed any sin? Where their is no law, their is no sin, but we have all fallen foul of God's law in one way or another (Romans 3 v 23 : for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God); we do not meet up to the standard God set for us. I know the Jesus way to salvation and as such preach that gospel; It is a tried and tested way and I do not know of any other way to salvation. If you do, please try and introduce it and explain how it works.

Jesus died to erase our sins. We get a fresh start when we come to him. When we mistakenly sin, we can ask for forgiveness and he will forgive. When you deliberately continue in sin, e.g. a christian who continues to fornicate knowing it is wrong, not closing all the doors that let him continue in that sin, will recieve the reward for his behaviour(See Hebrews 6 vs 4-8 below):

4 For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit,
5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,
6 and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame.
7 For ground that drinks the rain which often falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God;
8 but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close to being cursed, and it ends up being burned.

Christ's death does not prevent us from commmitting sin beacause we have the choice to sin or not to sin. Your quote 'salvation is of the Jews' means 'salvation came from among them' as Jesus was a Jew. Many Jews are receiving Christ now. Jews are not saved just because they are Jews. I had no peace of God or certainty of heaven outside Christ but I do now know what my fate is now that I have Christ.

Wickedness is multiplied; Crimes are being committed against law-abiding people and their is no justice; Many are being oppressed and most times the justice system of this world does not give them justice.

Who gives justice to a 4 year old who is repeatedly being despoiled by an adult who should know better?  Who heals the hurt of victims of despoils and murders(and their families) whose perpetrators are let back into society when they are still a danger? Who gives justice people who are being abducted, dismembered and sold for body parts? Who gives justice to the people whose government daily robs them of their rights? Who gives true healing to the broken-hearted? It is only God! He sent Jesus to make it easier for us to access the love, protection, peace and provision that is available from him.

Again, I cannot see myself living in this world without the peace and love of God. I have tasted the Lord and seen that he is good!

God saw the wickedness on earth long ago and decided to send Jesus. See Isaiah 59 vs 1 - 21 below

1 Behold, the LORD’S hand is not so short  That it cannot save;  Nor is His ear so dull  That it cannot hear.
2 But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God,  And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood  And your fingers with iniquity;  Your lips have spoken falsehood,  Your tongue mutters wickedness.
4 No one sues righteously and no one pleads honestly.  They trust in confusion and speak lies;  They conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity.
5 They hatch adders’ eggs and weave the spider’s web;  He who eats of their eggs dies,  And from that which is crushed a snake breaks forth.
6 Their webs will not become clothing,  Nor will they cover themselves with their works;  Their works are works of iniquity,  And an act of violence is in their hands.
7 Their feet run to evil,  And they hasten to shed innocent blood;  Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity,  Devastation and destruction are in their highways.
8 They do not know the way of peace,  And there is no justice in their tracks;  They have made their paths crooked,  Whoever treads on them does not know peace.
9 Therefore justice is far from us,  And righteousness does not overtake us;  We hope for light, but behold, darkness,  For brightness, but we walk in gloom.
10 We grope along the wall like blind men,  We grope like those who have no eyes;  We stumble at midday as in the twilight,  Among those who are vigorous we are like dead men.
11 All of us growl like bears,  And moan sadly like doves;  We hope for justice, but there is none,  For salvation, but it is far from us.
12 For our transgressions are multiplied before You,  And our sins testify against us;  For our transgressions are with us,  And we know our iniquities:
13 Transgressing and denying the LORD,  And turning away from our God,  Speaking oppression and revolt,  Conceiving in and uttering from the heart lying words.
14 Justice is turned back,  And righteousness stands far away;  For truth has stumbled in the street,  And uprightness cannot enter.
15 Yes, truth is lacking;  And he who turns aside from evil makes himself a prey.  Now the LORD saw,  And it was displeasing in His sight that there was no justice.
16 And He saw that there was no man,  And was astonished that there was no one to intercede;  Then His own arm brought salvation to Him,  And His righteousness upheld Him.
17 He put on righteousness like a breastplate,  And a helmet of salvation on His head;  And He put on garments of vengeance for clothing  And wrapped Himself with zeal as a mantle.
18 According to their deeds, so He will repay,  Wrath to His adversaries, recompense to His enemies;  To the coastlands He will make recompense.
19 So they will fear the name of the LORD from the west  And His glory from the rising of the sun,  For He will come like a rushing stream  Which the wind of the LORD drives.
20 “A Redeemer will come to Zion,  And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” declares the LORD.
21 “As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the LORD: “My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says the LORD, “from now and forever.”

I cannot just imagine living in this world without God's peace!
Christianity EtcRe: Is Everyone Born With Original Sin? by seyibrown(f): 11:04am On Jul 30, 2010
If you are only born into sin, and not with ORIGINAL SIN FROM ADAM AND EVE, why did Yahweh curse women with labor pain, etc and men with eating from the sweat of his brow? If Adam and Eve sinned, why are christian men and women receiving part of the curse, if only they were born into sin and not with sin? It does not make sense for Jesus to come to save you if you were just born into sin, but not with sin. Seyi, you got yourself into a pickle.
Everything was good when Adam and Eve were created. Adam was not originally created to 'eat from the sweat of his brow', and Eve was not originally created to have 'multiplied pain in childbirth'. The curses were only added to them after they were created and they became nature to humans(Adam and eve's offspring).

Nobody is born a sinner (Matthew 18 v 1-6)
1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 And He called a child to Himself and set him before them,
3 and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
4 “Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 “And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me;
6 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea).

Our upbringing(family) and society shape us (Proverbs 22 v 6 : Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it).

Jesus came to save us because of the failure of our ancestors and society to us and their inability to redeem us (Isaiah 59 v 16 : And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him).

Do you know that people who do not wish to be healed will not be healed no matter how much you pray for them?

Pastor Obadare probably knows that God wants to use him in his state of blindness (and he is working mightily through him). When you know what God's plans are for you, why would you go chasing something you don't need to get to where he is taking you?
Christianity EtcRe: Faith Healing Fails as Usual by seyibrown(f): 6:06pm On Jul 29, 2010
As a child is involved, they should have sought medical help alongside prayer, seeing as they have a responsibilty to the state to care for that child. Miracles happen where human efforts fail.

I recently had a conversation with an elderly couple about why the husband's Multiple Sclerosis still remained in their lives despite years of prayers. The husband said he had peace of God despite his condition and that this condition has actually created many opportunities to share the word of God with people who would not ordinarily speak with him. Non-xtians show kindness and compassion because of his disability.

We should not pray blindly, instead we should always pray 'according to God's will', in a way 'praying about it before you pray about it'.

Christianity EtcRe: Is Everyone Born With Original Sin? by seyibrown(f): 5:26pm On Jul 29, 2010
We are all born INTO sin, not WITH SIN.

The consequences of the sins of our forefathers are evident in the world today and we are all in one way or the other affected by it. That is how we are paying for the sins of our forefathers. They refused to obey God, and many still do, choosing to go their own way and we have had generations of adulterers, murderers, rapists, robbers etc. Generations to come (until our Lord comes) will be affected by the same, they will probably still have to clutch their purses and bags tight when in Oshodi; keep their children away from the prying eyes of the lecherous next door neighbour - or even move; have burglary proof on homes to keep (or try to keep) robbers out ; fear to walk alone in the dark alleys in London in case a prematurely released convict or 'happy slapping' devotee attacks them etc; the perpetrators and victims of these crimes all having been born INTO a SINful society.

Yes, each man pays for his sin, receiving the wages of sin here on earth and in the hereafter; but we all - saved and unsaved - bear the consequences of letting sin remain in our societies.

Isaiah 63 v 5 : 'I was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed. So I myself stepped in to save them with my strong arm, and my wrath sustained me.'

There was nobody to save us; God did it himself. He came down in human form, leaving all his glory behind, to conquer sin and death. That is why today we can have true peace in knowledge of the truth that has set us free, inspite of all the evil and opression around us.

I Corinthians 1 v 18 : 'The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.'

The message of the cross is about the salvation brought to mankind by Jesus' death and resurrection. Those whose hearts are hardened against the message will not understand it. Those who seek to understand will do. If they wish, they can access the salvation that is available through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Giving 10% isn't too much (I know it can be very very hard sometimes) and we need to give willingly as God loves a cheerful giver. We should not be forced to give. When we give with faith, we can expect, and should expect to receive form God in return. There are many xtians who do not tithe but it is important to listen to the holy spirit within you; Is he pressing you to give? If he is, you'd better do! Same applies to offerings and other pledges. I can testify to God's provision in my life since I made the decision to pay my tithes regularly after 'a 4 year tithe holiday'.

Christianity EtcRe: Does Grace Mean That A Christian Has The Right To Commit Sin? by seyibrown(f): 1:36pm On Jul 29, 2010
Are you saying they are committing fornication? Xtians DO NOT HAVE A RIGHT TO SIN. Professing christ and sinning deliberately do not go together. Xtians who deliberately continue in sin are throwing away their salvation.

SEE ROMANS 6: 1 -23 below (New American Standard Bible)

'1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase?
2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?
3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?
4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection,
6 knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;
7 for he who has died is freed from sin.
8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him.
10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
11 Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts,
13 and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be!
16 Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?
17 But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed,
18 and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
19 I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification.
20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
21 Therefore what benefit were you then deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is death.
22 But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.'

That lecturer had no business being at that student's place. Many lecturers fail students for not sleeping with them. The fear of being victimised by other lecturers keep the female victims quiet. These students went too far by asking LECTURER RANDY to sign a cheque and might just have bungled the opportunity to get him pay for what he has been doing.

I knew of a situation at my Uni where a female student complained of victimisation, the person who headed and actually instigated the complaint was a lecturer who 'specialises' in victimising female students(not kidding) who wanted the girl so badly and hated the other lecturer who was already 'doing the girl.

I hate the way these wicked lecturers get away with all these nonsense (including lecturers who fail students for not buying their worthless 'plagiarized' textbooks.

Anyhow, somebody has got to start the revolt against these randy lecturers! It's not fair to fail a course just because you won't open your legs.
