It cannot have been said any better. Pure Unrefined wines and beer is good, its simply fermented grains/fruits. Grass like weed and the cocoa plant occurs in nature. There is nothing wrong with smoking it. Cocaine, LSD and other manufactured drugs are certainly bad for you however and should never be legalized, but I believe ciggarettes are even worse, as they are built from the ground up to be addictive and have over 2000 chemicals to preserve the tobbacco for years and to keep you permanently addicted. WHy ciggarrettes haven't been banned is an ongoing mystery to me.

But there is absolutely nothing wrong with weed. Like anything doing it overzealously is bad, just like eating to much fatty meat or drinking to much water (can offset your bodies ph) can actually kill you. But weed itself is not bad.

The War on drugs is almost as big of a joke as the War on terror.

the number one thing for anyone living in the states or any so called "first" world country can do to get a healthier diet is to eliminate anything with the following additives

MSG
Corn Syrup
Hydrogenated Oils of all kinds.

They are all manufactured additives made from corn through various enzymatic processes that are not meant to be consumed. Especially Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (HOV). Unbleached HOV looks almost like candle wax and is added to baked goods to increase their shelf life. Corn Syrup is the reason diabetes is a so called "epidemic" in this country. Prevention is ALWAYS, ALWAYS better than treatement. Eliminate those 3 things and excercise and eat your local food. Fast foods are not only bad diets, they are KILLERS. (most fast foods are baked with HOV because it makes foods taste better, they also add corn syrup and msg to make them taste sweeter).

Infact refined sugars like Sugar cane are bad as well but not as horrible as corn syrup which really isnt corn syrup at all just like Hydrogenated oils aren't oils at all but fats that have a trans conformation (as opposed to cis fats that occur naturally in higher concentrations). Not only did the sugar cane kill millions of slaves who harvested it it is killing people now that consume the bleached, refined product.

Meat is good and good fat and good cholesterol is essential to your food no matter what is fed to us by companies pushing grain products like corn and its derivatives. We humans have grown and lived on meat for thousands of years, our bodies are meant to consume meats and the fats that are present in them. The problem comes when the meats we consumed are from animals fed grains instead of their natural food, injected with hormones and bred in factories unlike the animals that occur in nature so that they have even larger fat content and develop toxic chemicals from the hormones and pesticide from the grains they consume. Most cows in the US are fed corn, not grass, because it is cheaper. When you feed an animal food it is not supposed to it it becomes sick, so they inject it with hormones to combat the conditions it develops, they kill the cow, package it, place preservatives so it stays "fresh", package it with CO2 so it doesnt oxidize and voilla, preprocessed meat that is bad for you in more ways than one.

The moral of the story is simple. Stay away from PROCESSED FOOD. Processed food is the reason cancer and diabetes are the top health related killers in this country. Sweden took the initiative and banned transfat. The US will never do the same as long as pro Corn Agribiz like ConAgra continue to exist in the form that they do.

Eat Organic vegetables, farm raised meat, consume as little sugar as you can, stay away from substitute sugars like Nutrasweet (they are 1000X worse than Cane Sugar, they claim the calories are not empty, sure, they are non caloric much like DDT is non caloric, both are not meant to be ingested), eat ogranic eggs from farm raised chickens, coconut is excellent especially the oil, cook with olive and palm oil as opposed to corn and canola oil, we have lived on foods like yam and palm oil and ground cooked peppers and beans for years, they are good for us as long as they are not genetically modified or preprocessed.

I love when the WHO, Red Cross and organizations quote statistics about countries like Nigeria. Just like the statistics quoted about the Aids epidemic and how many are infected in Africa as a whole. I had a wonderful time in Kaduna because my parents shielded me from the going ons and politics. I was a kid. Such things where obviously not on our mind. We lived good and partied all the time. And there are GRA's in Kaduna. Perhaps you city guys never knew of where the british lived while we where under colonial rule. Kaduna has plenty of GRAs which are really suburban areas. I am beggining to question if any of you guys have even BEEN to Nigeria much less lived there.

Kaduna city is more developed than Jos but not Lagos. However I prefer Jos to Kaduna city. And Lagos is certainly more developed and metropolitan than Kaduna city. Ofcourse Kaduna city is more mixed than the rest of Kaduna. I did not even know you where talking about the city and not the state. If you are going to serve sure, go to Kaduna CITY. It is not as diverse as Lagos or other southern cities but it is way more diverse than the rest of Kaduna. We did not live in the city, like I said we lived in a GRA.

And Kaduna city doesnt have more Christians than Moslems, now that is a lie. There is no city in the north that has a majority population that is not Moslem or Hausa/Fulani.

And Lord Lugard did not setup his chambers in Kaduna because it was the most developed city in Northern Nigeria. There where other cities in Sokoto and Kano and Katsina (arguably the LARGEST state before colonial rule) for instance that even surpassed it in certain areas. Lugard was a bussiness man first and how he and other colonialists setup countries like Nigeria and other colonies was done simply for their advantage. There are reasons every colonial African country established has power concentrated within certain tribes and ethnicities. And you should not be proud that scoundrels like him and King Leopold setup shop in your cities. Lugard, like slave raiders before him and slave raiders after him saw the continent as a means of hoarding wealth for their respective empires and economies. He setup shop in Kadua because it was one of the first to fall under his rule, Sokoto and Kano put up fights with his bullshit though they eventually fell. Being the city where he setup shop should not make its residents proud AT ALL.


In either case the threat of Sharia law is ever present and ever looming. We has alot of good times in my 14 years there. But we eventually left due to such uncertanties.

I was born in Kaduna and lived there till I was fourteen. It is not 60/40 Christian and it is hardly developed compared to Lagos. Just because you spent 2 or 3 years serving ofcourse you would see only the developed areas. We lived in a GRA but other areas where extremely underdeveloped. I am glad we left and my dad moved to his homestate lagos because there was always the looming prospect of Sharia law.

Jos is way more interesting I think. Nice cool weather and way more balanced ethnic wise. Fulanis and Hausas aint the friendliest Nigerians.

the theory of evolution is a scientific theory. like all scientific thoeries that are not laws it has holes. i never said theories where not held in high esteem by scientists, learn to read. And laws are held in higher regard to theories. Go read any introductory science book. The thoery of evolution does seek to explain the origin of species. read darwins work of the same name. people try to reply to my facts by posting bs and irrelevant nonsense. the evolution thoery contains alot of facts like genetic mutations (which supports the idea that organisms might infact evolve, so does dna and genes and genetic processes) it does not state for a fact that evolution does occur hence it is still a THEORY. When such physical proof is shown it will become a LAW

we Yorubas do not like to speak pidgin, Igbos speak it in general way more casually and frequently than we Yorubas do . I thought any Nigerian knew this (ofcourse this does not imply anything malicous or prejudicial. ). So ofcourse most "English" Nollywood movies (which 90% are actually pidgin English) will be mostly Yoruba. Yoruba movies are in Yoruba because its Naija anyway, and its a Naija moview, we figure hey, why not speak our tribal language as well.

Chris, does he really. I mean really demand that much respect.
