Someone that has just 3 credit excluding Mathematics and English Language in his WAEC certificate, finished 4years course for just 3years without any A level certificate. What can he say to justify such a bad action. Waiting patiently. In a developed countries, public figure like Obaseki would've resigned due to the alleged Certificate forgery scandal. But this is Nigeria grin
He did not give himself admission into UI with the 3 credits and he did not also graduate himself in 3 years. The onus of explanation of that abracadabra lies with UI and they have come out to defend him.

if my child could make that score, what stops me from picking more prestigious schools for him or her. May be the KWASU is the only institution close to his place of abode. He may be living either in kogi or kwara state.

After all in US, a lady scored one of the highest in SAT and chose Indiana state university while people were concerned why she didn't choose the ivy league universities. Her reason was that she lives in Indiana and had visited the university and liked it. A good guider would have offered a better choice for her than the Indiana she chose.
I find it odd too.. Even if he wants to consider a place close to his abode, Unilorin is there at least.

Stop making Obaseki look like a victim. If we are talking about who humiliated who, its Obaseki that humiliated Oshiomhole.. Called him all sorts of names, asking your immediate predecessor and benefactor to receive permission from you before he can visit his own state, did a kangaroo suspension of Oshiomhole as a member of APC, a party Oshiomhole brought him in as a nobody to make him governor, schemed with others to try and remove him as APC chairman.. The list goes on. The guy is proud, disloyal and arrogant.. He asked for war from Oshiomhole and Oshiomhole obliged him and made him an orphan in APC like he was from the outset.

chei ! you think our students were smart then? do you think many could get A3 on English then?
those O level results were good enough for those times. yes, you can not dream of approaching UI with that type of result in today's environment because they are many students for the school to accept. so they make the standards stricter and harder. in those days, anyone that wanted to study was allowed. even a pepper seller. i don't have to be alive then to even tell you that. you should know after looking at Gowon or murtala or tafewa balewa's videos.

they didn't have to disqualify obaseki because he provide more documents than was asked for.
You're very correct.. Nigerian educational system was just evolving then and sadly we're still evolving till now.. Only few people were ready to study to University level then as against now where B.Sc is like pure water.. I get your point now. Stay safe.. It's well.

so you are admitting you were born in the 80s. then go and ask others what methods the universities allowed. UI already said he attended and graduated, so they have no problem with his studies or how he was admitted. there's no beating around the bush here. the school said they have no problem with obaseki! it means they allowed him as a student using their admission methods. no illegality there. that story is finished.

many of the people in nass were the students that used to arrange their chairs to seat next to the smart students during exams. i was a class like that. they are the ones that used to cheat. but we are not questioning how they pass. we only care if they have the diploma. people learn as they grow!

is professor ayuba the vice chancellor of UI?? is he the education minister huh
Yes, you're right.. I was born in the 80s as you rightly deduced.. Well, I'm just surprised the standard during my time was higher than it was in your time especially how our parents used to brag about how education was more standard and tough then.. No one can dream of approaching a school like UI for admission in my time with the type of O'Level result Obaseki got. That is what got me more astounded. At the end of it all, everything is politics.. We the masses are just being played. Thanks for your time Sir.

I asked you a simple question, you refused to answer.. You are beating about the bush.. Tell me how your "smart" student Obaseki finished in UI in 3 years without Direct entry.. You were talking about people finishing earlier than the duration of their programme.. I asked you to give me example of such people that finished from a Nigerian University like UI, you haven't.. I'd really love to learn from you Sir since you're obviously older than me and more familiar with University education in Nigeria in the 70s than I am.

wait. this was in the 1970s when standards were impressive! were you even born then?
this is not inec or apc issue. its a matter for ui. as far as they are concerned, he met their requirements and graduated.
this is the issue with nigeria, people that sell pepper are telling you if your education credentials are fake or not. while they never even went to school.

professor ayuba or wetin he called himself, doesnt know what is fake. all he has to do is question the credibility of the credentials, and allow the candidate to answer and respond, and provide attestation from the granting schools. he has no right to disqualify. obaseki can go to court and he will win!.

this is just gutter politics!
You said Obaseki can go to court and win but he chose not to do that. He isn't a fool.. He knows towing that path would spell more doom for him and expose other things that's why he didn't do that. So you're more knowledge about the Nigerian University system than Professor Ayuba?

3 Credits Man

How did University of Ibadan admitted him for a degree course in Classics with three credits, without a credit in English Language and F9 in Mathematics?
UI really have a lot of explanation to do. Obaseki has put them on the spotlight. I used to think they were different, that they had some kind of standard but I guess they are not exempted from the Nigerian factor of cutting corners and sharp practices. Quite a shame to think this happened in 1976, at a time when Nigeria was supposedly not as corrupt as it is now. One would wonder what's obtainable there at a time like this when everything goes in this country. Was it not in the same UI someone like Ganduje of Kano bagged Ph.D?

I do not see any forgery here.

His university certificate reads July 1979.

He did NYSC,1979-89.

The only issues here are:

1.He did not declare his advanced level results with date.-Not required to be governor, anyway.
2.A probable mistake in his affidavit, stating 1976 instead of 1979 as date of graduation.-This can be corrected by another affidavit..
The question is why would he declare a mere attestation letter from the lesson centre he went for A'Level coaching which is a glorified class attendance register and refuse to present the result/certificate he got from the A'Level exams he wrote if he really wanted to be silent about his A'Level since it's not a requirement for governorship? My assumption is it was that A'Level he used for admissions into UI as Direct entry for him to finish in 3 years.

I just feel releasing that A'Level result might put the spotlight on UI on how he was able to get admission with such a result since everyone agrees that O'Level result he got couldn't have ordinarily given him admission. My personal thinking.. I might be wrong, but I'll be loved to be proven wrong.

Did university of Ibadan deny that he didn't get his degree there?
The only problem he's stock with is he's not being able to provide his A/level HSC certificate(the only missing link) which he like many students do often, failed to collect once he gained university admission.
What then did he use to get admission and finish in 3 years instead of the normal 4 years if he didn't collect the A'Level certificate and present to UI as a requirement for Direct entry admission?

What project does obaseki has to campaign in esanland during campaign? I believe the governor has A Level certificate.

But his political style is wrong.
He could have done some things differently from oshiomhole style without trying to destroy the party.
Then where is the A'Level result/certificate? Have you seen it in the public space as you've seen his other certificates? Why would someone present an attestation letter from Institute of Continuing Education, Benin signifying that he attended A' Level lessons there and refuse to present the result he got in the A' Level exams he wrote after the lessons. Where's the sense in that and which is more important.. A'Level Lesson attestation letter or A'Level certificate? He also neither talked about any A'Level result among the documents that got missing in the affidavit he deposed for his first term nor did he present it at all to show that also wasn't missing. Shouldn't that raise eyebrows to any logical mind?

Imagine admitting someone into a BA programme without a credit pass in English Language and with just only 3 credits O'Level. He was also made to graduate in 3 years for a 4-year programme when he didnt get in through Direct entry.. Such a shame to UI. First it was ABU with that of Dino Melaye and now UI.

Obaseki is the architecture of his failure

Abuja Gist

Adams Oshiomhole did not know Godwi non Obaseki from anywhere. It was Aliko Dangote, based on his closeness with both, that took Obaseki to Oshiomhole as his preferred candidate for Edo State governorship.

Oshiomhole accepted Obaseki and supported his ambition. He staked everything for Obaseki to realise his ambition. With Oshiomhole's support, Obaseki won the election.

The moment crisis started rearing its ugly head between Obaseki and Oshiomhole, Dangote approached Obaseki and advised him to tread cautiously on his fight against his benefactor (Oshiomhole).

Obaseki told Dangote, "this is politics, not business". Dangote was embarrassed and left Obaseki.

Now, Obaseki was feeling the heat, and his second term ambition threatened; he approached Dangote to mediate and appeal to Oshiomhole on his plight. Dangote told Obaseki, "I AM A BUSINESSMAN; I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT POLITICS".

- Adejare I.
This story is most likely a lie saying it was Dangote that introduced Obaseki to Oshiomhole and that's why he supported Obaseki succeeding him. Oshiomhole himself said that Obaseki was the brain his economic reforms when he was governor for 8 years. Obaseki headed the economic team. That means they've been acquaintances even before Oshiomhole became governor in 2008.
