PoliticsRe: Frank Kokori: Osinbajo Appointed Me NSITF Chairman But Cabal Reversed It by Shikena(m): 11:15pm On Jun 14, 2021
Gakinola:
how daft of you to compare wizkid to Osinbajo? Even if your father were to be there, same fate will befall him. You can read up what happened to Jonathan when he was vice president during Yar'adua's tenure
That time was terrible. Jonathan had loads of fun and was silently functional until Yar'Adua (a very good man) got sick and disappeared from the scene. The cabal took over, this time with the first lady as the arrow-head. Jonathan was not cut off, they gave him access to the cabal but in a most terrible way. He was Aso Rock's chief barman.
For my Nairaland brothers calling Osinbajo mere commissioner, most of una papa never even see local government councilor chop talk less of state commissioner grin
PoliticsRe: Ajibola Basiru: Buhari Pushing 1964 Northern Nigeria Decree On Cow Grazing Route by Shikena(m): 3:24pm On Jun 14, 2021
This is how democracy should work but our natural inclination for drama won't allow us rise above insults and attacks over issues.
I disagree with the president and his attorney general on this issue. There are other areas where I agree with the president.
If we go back to 1964 (which doesn't even apply to the whole nation at that point and won't impact the current states of the federation), then we might as well go back to 1963 federal constitution.

The demand will tell u the direction of the protest, the target, which one is buhari must go re-register the deregister party when supreme Court finalize it show our unseriousness don't turn it to a blood shed day our demand should be end bad governance reverse to old price of electricity bill and fuel reduce food price end citizens intimidation
The words 'Buhari Must Go' already made the protests a failure. The recklessness of those organizing these protests is ridiculous. Protest should have realistic focus. When you say Buhari must go then you have given the government an opportunity to water down your agitation. They will say that you are being sponsored by the opposition who lost the previous election. If you want Buhari to go then get with your elected reps and senators to initiate impeachment and if you don't believe in that, 2023 is around the corner. Even the peaceful Goodluck Jonathan won't step down because of a protest not to talk of Buhari. However, protesting against insecurity, maladministration, slow progress etc are all valid and neutral.

No be team lagos, na team naija. It will be a violent-free protest. Police has been duly informed. They should blame those thugs they unleashed on us last October who later went as far as destroying the property, buses and other utilities of their senders( sanwoolu and tinubu). They were crying like a baby instead of admitting to the fact that they sent same thugs on an errand to disperse us and unleash mayhem.
Are you the one that will guarantee that it's violence-free?

They have always been known to be cowards who are not man enough to face you directly. They won't just come in the night, they always have assurance from their collaborators and saboteurs, within the security forces and the communities they want to attack, before they strike. Now that more people are aware of their cowardly 'strategies' we shall see where it will lead them.

Thank you my brother. Actually, we Igbos defeated Nigeria during the Civil War. We only shout genocide as part of our propaganda to win sympathy. Some even say Ojukwu pick race when the center could no longer hold, na lie! Ojukwu just took a leisure stroll to nearby Abidjan to rest after three good years of battle. They have been hired yorubas to perpetrate evil. Fulanis are mostly illiterate with cash.

Thats why they rely on yoruba for dirty stuffs
That's very true. The first Yoruba that did their dirty stuff for them was Ogunnamdi Azikiwe from Ijebu-Igbo. I also remember when Shehu Shagari hired Alex Adebayo Ekwueme in 1979, then Odumegwuleke Ojukwu straight from Ivory Coast in 1983. Not to forget Uchesola Chukwumerije and Arthur Alabi Nzeribe who served the Northern interest very well during the military era.

This is why it's better to always look at issues from multiple angles before taking action. While most were in support of EndSARS for valid reasons, some joined so that they could create an environment that enables their evil activities. Unfortunately, the reality of life is that lots of situations are no-win.

PoliticsRe: Olu Okeowo: Area Boys, Fake Pastors Are Products Of South West Nigeria (Video) by Shikena(m): 5:18pm On May 10, 2021
He is right.

Each part of Nigeria has one major problem or the other but the common problem is failure to accept our shortcomings and address it. The SW people are victims of Nigeria. The upright people of the SW can no longer convince their children that integrity is a virtue. A Jide that was the best student in town with a degree in Computer Science with no support ends up teaching in a street corner nursery/primary school while Olooto, the dullest, is now a millionaire and community leader via area boyism and political thuggery. Kemi, a university graduate who did all her parents wanted, is a struggling tailor/fashion designer while Abibat, the dullest, frequents Dubai like she's going to Ibadan after years as local runs girl and is an Iyaloja courted by the high and mighty in politics.

*The SE, SS etc should also avoid blaming others when one of their own highlights their failings.

When Africans begin to look beyond "The Messiah" as a solution, there will be progress.

This idea of hunting for a messiah every election year as the panacea is a waste of time, lives, and resources.

While one cannot totally excuse leadership failure at all levels, the solution is for people to identify key issues that border on their well-being, suggest and demand implementation of solutions/ ideas by their Governments. Stop going to sleep after elections, thinking politicians will fix things. They won't; they can't.

Besides, the people should also be patriotic. Take actions that will strengthen the polity and economy. Invest in the real sector to create employment and business opportunities.

There’s something I’ve learned from seeing African protests occur over a two score lifespan. The demonstrations are hardly about social rights injustices and inhumane living conditions, they are more about opposition bodies rallying unemployed fellows to cause disruptions. No matter how hard things are for Africans, we are prone to grit our teeth and survive. I know very well people with jobs stay seated at their workplace because they have something to lose.

The internet blackout is the funniest part of these protests; the average man gets frustrated because they can’t communicate meanwhile the foreign media will make use of VPNs to monitor the situation. I know our idiot leaders are taking note.

Let them complete it first then we worry about the toll gates later. The construction money does not belong to APC or PDP. Infrastructure is very important.

You were carried along because you aligned with them enmass. That's normal and expected.
That's why it's a surprise that you don't have the power projects in place, not even the 2nd Niger Bridge. Let's remove sentiments, there is no excuse for those not happening in 16 years of PDP that 'carried you along'. What sort of carrying along is that?

Igbochief001:
Nigeria didn't start in 1999 .... PDP or APC Igbos have always been marginalized but PDP was far better for Igbos because we were carried along
Yes, Nigeria didn't start in 1999 but no Nigerian dead or alive ever witnessed more than six years of democratic rule until the dispensation that started in 1999. That's why it's common for people to use that as a reference point. Going back to 1960-1966, or 1979-1983, won't give room for sound logic - the remaining years (interim doesn't count) were under military dictatorship, they owe nobody any explanation.

Tomorrow you ask how are Igbos marginalized
Not true. PDP built at least four world class power plants in the south east during their 16 years in charge.

Just kidding, no excuse for this at all whether PDP or APC!

We know how our majority roll everyday on the streets, in the offices, in the church, at home, in the farm, inside hotel, inside bar etc. We are who we are even if we don't want to face our reality and we only complain when we are holding the wrong end of the stick.
