jimyjames:You are pouring out emotions not facts of history, typical of your people. You dined with the devil “on merit” and when they started mauling you “on merit“ in 1967 you were expecting the Yoruba bigots to bail you out abi? Now it’s the fault of the Yorubas who are cowards because they didn’t help you. You are towing the same path again thinking you will defeat the ‘boy scout’ army of Nigeria when we all know you are the laughing stock who can even defeat the US Army on the internet but loud pussies in real life and experts at running away after starting a fight lol |
Kapeter:Is that not why those who fought the war in 1967 are still screaming marginalization till today, boycotting election today then Atikulating tomorrow and begging political parties to zone the presidency to them? War is zoo mentality, never a solution. |
jimyjames:First of all the igbos did dominated other Nigerian ethnic groups back then, it was by merit and hardwork, it was never through aggression , in fact tribalism was introduced to Nigeria by awolowo and the northerners, the igbos only preached unity back then You guys will never ever face the truth about the real origin of all these and move on with intelligent solutions. Propaganda will never replace the truth. The Igbos led by Azikiwe colluded with the North to gain power at the center in 1959 when Awolowo's AG team were tricked into waiting for them on a meeting to negotiate a way forward after the general elections that left the dominant NPC unable to form a government without a coalition. The North already reached out to the West via Akintola but the West decided to consult with the East first. What did your people do? They went up North to strike a deal with the North. Your 'merit and hardwork' led to your people using that 'opportunity' to dominate the federal service, foreign service, international scholarships etc. That did not stop the West from progressing and that was before the Oil dominance in our economy. You guys decided to dine with the devil, who were obviously not happy with your type of 'merit and hardwork' and you are still reaping the fruit till today. You played 'smart' as usual and now it's other people's fault! Smart again? ![]() War is never the solution! |
quentin06:That's a different conversation dude. There is absolutely no basis for your conclusion that civil and mechanical engineers being incompetent other than the typical hasty generalizations and arrogant ignorance lol. They do well in Nigeria when given the opportunity and even much better in sane environments where real opportunities abound. Yes, graduate engineers in the fields of civil and mechanical engineering do wear suits and stay in air conditioned offices in the most advanced countries in the world or do you think engineering designs, blueprints, operations management, design analysis, value engineering, corrosion analysis, stress analysis etc are done inside hot sun in Yaba market or mechanic village? ![]() Engineering as a field is not about you so who cares about what your personal and obviously limited perception is? A university is not a vocational center, it is the highest institution for research and academics... and an engineering degree is primarily focused on that which equips the graduates at the basic level for any industry of their choice while others continue in academics and research. There is barely enough time to learn all the basics of the core concepts of engineering in a five year degree course. You don't need a university degree to get your hands dirty with your misconception about engineering, you can simply head to Baba Rashidi on the next street to learn welding or auto repair then you are already a chief engineer bigger than a catalogue of paper certificates ![]() **Back to the actual issue, once again do not hire an artisan to handle the job of an engineer no matter how dirty his hands look.
|
quentin06:The problem is not with the system but with your understanding of the processes involved. Your conclusion already betrayed a total lack of understanding of the words that you used like 'practical', 'knowledge', 'technical', 'competence', 'certificate' and that is the bane of technology in Nigeria - we see your likes everyday and we see the result of your practical competence with no related academic qualification . My post above is clear enough for anyone with good education: get qualified engineers with verified on-the-job experience, they are trained via conventional engineering courses, industrial/field attachments and on-the-job field roles to work with other educated and qualified professionals to assemble the right team (including the artisans and technicians) and resources for your project. Those artisans and technicians are not engineers even if they are kinder to your pocket and can easily tell you that those cheap materials are the same as the top quality products ![]() |
Colonelswitz101: Someone should borrow me that Bubu and his toothpick picture |
quentin06:Makes no sense at all - this is like investing in a hospital facility then some doctors fail to live up to expectation and our solution is hiring road side chemists ![]() *The question should be why the civil engineers failed. Are they truly qualified civil engineers? Do they have enough field experience to handle your project? Are they registered with the governing board of engineers (COREN) so that their training and qualifications could be verified and they could be held accountable for their professional activities? Are you being sincere with yourself in terms of getting a real civil engineer or you are more concerned with getting anyone that could get the job done at a cheap rate so you can keep more money for yourself? Always think PROCESS and be sincere with every minute details of your root cause analysis. |
PoliteActivist:Because Naija no dey keep data, all die na die |
quentin06:What gave you the impression that they gave the job to qualified civil engineers - everybody na engineer for Nigeria when construction is involved ![]() |
CharlesRyder:True. Our dishonesty is disgusting. A woman that we saw her shameful attitude to work as a minister during a senate hearing just a few years ago. Also, see as most of them are trying to sound smart by claiming it's our leaders lol. What an excuse! Are your leaders from the moon? Hire an average Nigerian to handle a business and his first temptation and advice from friends is how to 'hammer'. What do you expect when he is a government appointee or elected official? We are the problem and politicians are part of us. Our attitude is sickening and our people are largely shortsighted. You want a better nation, start with yourself. A few appointments here and there doesn't mean you rule the world. |
vineyardfarms:Stop this rubbish. Sowore helped free GEJ from Turai Yar'adua's kitchen in Aso Rock and fought to make him president in line with our constitution. Sowore's rights as a citizen is also part of the constitution. Sowore turned against Jonathan for his incompetence. He is fighting Buhari's govt also today because he believes Nigerians deserve more. Anyone with any form of real intelligence can see the trail proving that Sowore is simply for Nigerians not for any individual leader. Where was your Jonathan when Sowore was risking his life confronting the likes of Babangida and Abacha in the 90s? |

I do 40 minutes. My life no get spare, there is no rewind, our emergency services/healthcare sucks if you survive and where exactly are we rushing to? Leave earlier if time is an issue. Thanks for the video. |
TheStakeHolder:Cool but we should always master the simple art of separating our thoughts from reality and facts. That's what separates rational thinkers from emotional thinkers. Thoughts could be totally logical but that doesn't make it factual. Judgment and opinions must always be backed up by facts, not thoughts and imaginations. This wisdom has been established for several generations. |

Penguin2:Absolutely untrue. Zungeru was 'officially' conceived in 1982 under the government of Shehu Shagari so can't be someone's 'brainchild' 30 years later, I won't even be surprised if the project was already lying on someone's desk long before 1982. It was never implemented due to dwindling resources that led to austerity measures by the government. The project was revisited and approved by Goodluck Jonathan's government in 2012 and agreement signed with the Chinese partners in 2013. On paying the counterpart funding in full.... I no know book but we were making lots of money from oil back then so it's possible.... just don't bet on it... regardless, it's a project of the federal government of Nigeria ![]() |

Clean it up and embrace the bald and bold look. Maintain good physique, eat healthy, dress well and most importantly focus on building financial stability.

One useless boy just told me that the foreign affairs ministry is correct, it's Nigeria asking to join Benin Republic to escape Boko Haram not the other way round. |
Edoziesmart:You don kolo ![]() |
Edoziesmart:Repetition of a misconception or ignorance doesn't change facts .Texas is the 2nd largest economy in the USA after California. Illinois is No.5 and Hawaii is No.40... c'mon dude! ![]() |
Edoziesmart:That's one of the worst state in USA. Not true. Texas actually has the highest growth rate of all the states in the USA at 4.4% (2019) - https://www.thebalance.com/which-states-have-the-best-economies-3980690 The average income places it in the top 25 but with much lower cost of living so they get more bang for their bucks. Mostly occupied by black. Texas is not mostly occupied by blacks. The black population in the state of Texas by 2018 US Census Bureau estimates is 12.3%. Indiana has many black though but they are more developed and advance in technology than Texas that is full of immigrants Indiana? How? Where in Indiana is more developed and advanced in technology than Houston, Austin and Dallas in Texas ![]() Texas that is full of immigrants Texas has estimated 17.2% immigrant population. California has 26.9%, Florida 21%, Hawaii 18.7%, Massachusetts 17.4%, Nevada 19.4%, New Jersey 22.8%, New York 22.8%. |
Edoziesmart:Total misinformation. Where did you pull all these crap from? ![]() |
Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State, hmmmmmm. It is well with the dog. |
Godada:The south east also voted for the clannish people - ATIKU . This is not the time for unnecessary sanctimony. |
Those who have been mocking Sowore that he does it for publicity, you see now that it’s not easy... he’s been doing it for over 30 years even under no-nonsense Babangida and Abacha military dictatorship. |
Nuel4:but people always turn to crime when they lose hope This is why we have this argument bro. This is not true! Not even among Nigerians, I know lots of Nigerians in America who have lost hope because of naturalization gone bad or due to marital issues. They did not go into crime despite appealing situations. I have seen lots of Nigerians who have lost hope in Lagos, Ibadan, Benin etc, and are definitely not into crime. Look closer home and you will find lots of retirees or under-employed who worked hard with little to show for it, still they won't go into crime. Where are you getting this generalization from? Do not confuse NEED with GREED. Victims of Nigerian Prince scam would have never fallen for it if they received the mail from a Chinese, Russian, India or a European. This is not true. The Nigerian prince scam is a variant of the old Spanish Prisoner scam with numerous other variants across the globe. |
Nuel4:We are on the same page with regards to the problem. The difference is in the choice of solution and the Mexican example is not the ideal, why would you choose that as your favored scenario when we have tons of examples from other nations and how they managed adversity.... How well is that going for Mexico, the government and the criminals? A criminal solution is a myopic solution. We can not allow frustration to get in the way of facts. I have been following the Nigerian Prince scam for years and I know 100% that it's not 'designed and targeted towards racists', it's just a scam targeting any available victim who thinks he has found easy money from a failed system. You and I know that Yahoo is not about any racist, it's all about the money so let's cut the chase around that. If crime is your solution to adversities then you are just a waste of space. Where is the intelligence? Unfortunately, that's the reality of Nigeria today. |
Nuel4:1. There's no struggling country in this world where its people don't look for alternatives. Those who look for alternatives via criminal activities are dealt with by the law and I have never heard of any court anywhere buying their argument about 'struggling'. 2. In Mexico hardship force people to push drugs in the middle east they do terrorism, in America black Americans engage in gangsterism, Italian Americans started mafia for the same reasons. And the laws are clear! You do the crime, you get caught, you do the time. No country encourages justification of crime. For black folks in America, the likes of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King already did lots of justice to such argument at the heat of civil rights agitations. 3. Nobody will fold his arms and starve to death. Yahoo activities are not solutions to starving, they are solutions to greed. Nigerians have been struggling since independence, and of recent the nation was in turmoil from 1993 to 1999, yet people did not starve, they tilled the lands and got innovative with business while still engaging the military junta with protests until Abacha's death. There is no justification for criminal activities, Yahoo is not a victimless crime. Victims commit suicide. Most of these victims are the few people outside of Africa who still trust Africans and our Yahoo boys repay their trust with evil. No racist will deal with a Yahoo boy in the name of business or love, they don't do black people. You are killing the trust of the few who still respect you as human beings. Please look at the big picture. Political struggle is not a seasonal thing, you keep at it until you effect change and that's the solution not Yahoo. |
