Omg sooooo many
- walking bare foot around the house
- sitting on the floor/rug/carpet. I'd rather sit on the floor than couch at home or wherever I'm really comfy.
-staying awake all night watchin tv etc. Basically not doing anything important.
-eating slowly and microwaving my food a million times
-walking around the house almost naked or completely naked when I'm alone
-walking around the house with a plate or cup
-eating at odd hours of the night. Whenever I'm hungry, I eat. No regard for time lol.

kandiikane: Awwh, don't worry, for some it takes longer for the startup growth. Just keep on looking after it and see how much it would have grown after a year.

Continue with the natural, don't perm it. Use other methods of doing weaves(invisible parting so the natural hair won't clash with the weave or even a closed weave) or even wigs.

It will take time but with just maintain it. Don't put too much products in your hair.


Trust me though, it will be worth it when your hair reaches it's full glory.

I'm just 21 and almost done with uni so I haven't really started job hunting in search of a career but getting a good job at 17 in Africa was hard. It's not like over here where a 15 yr old can get a min wage job easily.

A few days after graduating from high school, I spent a few days walking the streets of Gaborone (Botswana) with my resume handing it out to any receptionist who would collect it. I finally decided that I wanted to work for my favorite national newspaper but the editor wouldn't hire me cos I had no experience. I emailed him and called several times, totally ignored.

I then started to write news articles and would snail mail it to him everyday for weeks. He finally got back to me and hired 17 yr old me. I became a journalist (student news correspondent) with front page stories, earning money!! I saved it all up cos I was still getting pocket money #balling . Good times...

Journalism has since become my passion and my bro and I have started a media company. Babysteps.

I remember whenever am broke,i use to go to a shop where they sell recharge cards in my area and memorize one voucher numbers before they staple the paper together (in the space of 5seconds i use to memorize 12-16 digits number) and sell it at a cheaper rate to Broda Michael that has a call centre in my street, i remember the day i was caught i was beaten like a thief and had a POP on my right arm. about a month after that time i remember i stabbed the person that beat me the most that day with a broken bottle at midnight.

i started doing Yahoo Yahoo at the of 19 i started counting hundreds of thousand naira i bought my first car at the age of 20 (honda bulldog) The money made me forget about school totally all i was thinking then was travelling out of Naija.Eventually i got a uk visa and now am a full time yahoo boy on the street of london. dont judge me pls ''i guess am just the product of my environmet''

Valid point. I know it was quite hard for my parents, but isn't that to be expected? Most immigrants migrate without a job to Canada, and it will naturally take a while to get settled.

Like other posters have said, fact remains that the Western world is full of opportunities. My parents migrated here, and I can't thank them enough. I'm 21 and in my final yr of uni. I also work fulltime in the summer, I worked over 70 hours per week one summer. I also work part time during the school year and I save up and travel the world when I'm not in school. I'm also developing my resume in the process. My brother and I have also started our own business. You work for what you have, and there are many rewards for creativity and hardwork in this part of the world.

Ishsoph: Though a science student i have always had a thing with fashion. Used to design shirts and trouser even d jean i wear. Sometimes i sale them after wearing it for d first time due to pressures from fellow student. At a time, I started commercializing it. Recall taking cultural events in contract, burial uniforms and weddings(made all d suits won by my lecturer and his men in suits on his wedding day). Even as a secularly employed guy, I still design and make cloths for myself and colleaque and their acquaintances. Makes me proud to stand uniquely in any occasion and beams with smile when poeple approach me to want to know my tailor/designer and i say am the one. used to like the surprises in their facial expressions. Wish i can give it fulltime!

I couldn't agree more! I'm also a PR, living in Victoria, Bc. Before moving to Canada, my family had lived in 4 countries, US included. Canada is amazing. Not perfect, but amazing. Btw, I'm 21 and also a student.

Yes u can meet the person online, but I believe u need to get to know them on a personal level and that can be hard to do on a strictly online basis.
