onomelenshi: who be dis mumu??...3 idiots and dark knight are no mates in any way, even old people love 3 idiots
Have you taken your drug this afternoon? Do you have to insult to score cheap points? How can any person who knows movies very well say '3 idiots' is a better movie than 'Dark knight'? Are you high on elephant grass?! 3 idiots is very relatable and generates emotion but it is not exceptionally creative! DARK KNIGHT!!!! grin

TV/MoviesRe: Bollywood Vs Hollywood - Which Is Better? by sholay2011(m): 7:55am On May 24, 2013
speedyboi: Not a big deal.....as its not peculiar to Hollywood alone angry

Its not sometimes, most times (Especially all these recent Hollywood films). Technicalities is always their saving grace (and their Vfx also bleeps up at times sef) . I will say that 'Sometimes' applies to their Good movies...

Now I'm back to my former stand, they are both on the same level with me.

I'm very selective when it comes to Hollywood, just like I am with every other type of movie.
Na wa for u oh. But I like the way you put it, they are on the same level WITH YOU.

But reality says they are not on the same level. (Don't ask me why tongue).

Pls, lets end this debate here jare. cheesy Ehn-ehn, I just wrote a feature length movie script and I need a filmmaker to buy it (by will or force grin). How do I like 'copywright' my script? If you know, please share with me.

Afam4eva: Like Hollywood hasn't exhausted theirs already. Bollywood is already branching out, doing movies in different countries. Bollywood movies of the 70s, 80s and 90s is different from Bollywood of today.
Your first statement in your above comment shows you didn't get my post very well. Afam4bollywood grin I wan sleep.

TV/MoviesRe: Bollywood Vs Hollywood - Which Is Better? by sholay2011(m): 2:13am On May 24, 2013
Afam4eva: When you made bold assertions like these, i expect you to back them up with facts. I think to some of you, because Bollywood doesn't portray the western and Defacto-global culture in their movies, they'll always be below Hollywood.
I didn't see the need to make any assertion 'cos some previous posters have stated some cogent points on this thread and you're still hell bent on your belief. tongue

But seriously, Hollywood has done almost everything. Is it action, drama, comedy drama, romantic drama, slapstick comedy, biopics, book adaptations, installments, franchises, horror, thriller, horrific thriller grin, musicals, musical dramas and timeless seasonal movies that have graced our screens.

Not to absolve hollywood of its somtyms bullshit, but they are very well at the top of their game, even when their plots are no longer new. They give us those unforgettable script lines (Jack in Titanic: I am the king of the world! Joker in Dark knight:'Whatever doesn't kill you, simply makes you...stranger'. Tiffany in Silver Lining Playbook: 'You know what, forget the whole fcking idea because that must have been fxking crazy 'cos I'm so much crazier than you! I am the crazy slut with a dead husband....ah ah ah!'), those unforgetable movie villains and heroes (do I need to start mentioning?), and they are still pushing the boundaries of cinema (lately, all cast members were asked to sing live in the making of 'les miserables', not using the pre recording always associated with singing on-screen, in order for actors to show perfect emotions as they belt out tunes and notes).

One day, Bollywood would exhaust all its 'unique and fresh' plots. Then, I would see what becomes of them.

What's all these? undecided
Abeg...Bollywood isn't better than Hollywood.
Hollywood isn't 'slightly better' than Bollywood.
HOLLYWOOD is miles aheas of BOLLYWOOD! Jeez! It's not too difficult to decipher that. shocked

Many French films sef beat Bollywood but I reserve my comment on that.

The little I know is that it kicks off this Sunday, May 26. And a thread I checked on NL mentioned Tonto Dike grin as a Nigerian housemate.

But she may not be the only one representing Nigeria. I can't wait to watch 24 hours of tonto, a co-owner of NL lipsrsealed.

speedyboi: Lancelot's work are not always mindblowing. He is not one of idumota guys and he is not superb either. But his movies make it to the cinemas.....So maybe i can call him upgraded version! grin grin grin grin.

I hope he doesn't release it during the time when Izu Ojukwu's "76" comes out......as that film will just crush this one with box office cheesy
May God have mercy on you oh! grin 'Upgraded version' indeed. Well, I know him to handle all these 'Royal academy (another name for Emem isong wink) movies, but let's see if he can pull this off.
TV/MoviesRe: Invasion 1897: Lancelot Imasuen Goes Historical! by sholay2011(m): 1:32pm On May 23, 2013
PhysicsQED: No disrespect to Mr. Imasuen, but I think that if a historical event of that much importance is going to be covered by him in a film, he should make a deliberate effort to step up the quality of his work by several notches. I'm seen parts of some of his other movies and I wasn't really impressed - but then again maybe I've been spoiled by Hollywood.
Hopefully, he has stepped up his game but you just spoke my mind in your post.

VillageBoi: I was at the Premiere and the effects are far better than what you see in the trailer. They changed quite a number of things and were actually STILL editing the film that same evening. And with the last part you highlighted... it could be even better than what I saw.
It's a pretty good film... far better than 'Mirror Boy'.
I choose to believe you. My eagerness just increased drastically. But I thought 'Mirror Boy' was ok.... (though Genevieve performd below expectation). Why didn't u like it?
