Sir, you didn't state the location of your 'film company' or where the short film would be shot. By the way, I don't want to work with a 'crazy' director oh , a sane one is enough for me so far the script isn't nursery rhymes. |
hopeyemmy: how does one relay an unconfirmed news? Well, I can only hope it's true while I await confirmation. It is well.Ope hw far? Oau stdnt shey? Pls relay d news to us oo. Wetin dem talk? |
As much as this is not a bad idea, I don't see it as a good one either. An economy should always find its balance and ensure youths are productive in a way that drives the country forward. At this stage of Naija, youths are overexposed to the arts and every tom, dick and harry claim he/she can sing or act or just shake bombom for lewd-lyricd musical videos. Talent shows range from 'Nigerian Idols', 'Project Fame', 'Gulder Ultimate Search' nd d least meaningful- 'Big brother Africa'. While these shows help us spot young talents, the good is for an individual, not the nation's GDP.lol. But when scientific inventions, discoveries are given space to breathe, it has an impact on the economy when harnessed. So, we also need TV shows that focus on these aspects. China may not have an outstanding 'chinawood' (as in Nigeria for Nollywood), dia musicians may not be winning MTV awards up nd down, but they are a threat to USA already in becoming world power. In a nutshell, I hope I have convinced and not confused you that- 2face is a wrong choice to go inspire secondary school students. They already have enof inspiratn from the various musical talent shows that grace our TV screens. |
Charles Shaw: U dnt hv 2 care weda ur fwnds undastand or not d most important is u undastand.Abeg shift joor into pit latrine. You no sabi say Winnie don get job alredy ni? I thought he said he is now a man of God and has FORGIVEN them cos his fellow stars didn't 'rally round' him when he was struck down. So, why say this on the media since you've forgiven them? A poster above has said it all. An adult should know that this life is Me, myself and I. Family sometimes disappoint let alone colleagues who also have their problems. Thank God that you're alive and stop ranting about how your health palaver is everybody's responsibility. |
*Smh* |
A prophet is not always honoured in his home or smth...(I wonder how that saying goes) so congrats to him. By the way,was his performance that top notch in the 'top secret' movie? 'Cos I don't remember Emeka Ike as a very talented actor. |
Op, this is the job/vacancy section bro. You would likely get better responses from the Career section where people who work in food industries and even Cadbury specifically may respond to your question. Many ppl here are itching to be in your position. It's not that wise to come bother them with another burden of yours. And btw, change d thread title jare. I even thought it was Cadbury calling for graduate trainees so I could apply not knowing it's someone seeking for an info. Don't be pathetic. |
Sensual Man: TO ALL MY OAU PEEPS, SHEBI SENATE WILL SEAT TODAY?Mr Weed, morning. Please, confess gud things concerning the situatn of we OAU students...and even if u dnt, u wud soon be put to shame when u jam Winniedpooh at Borno nysc camp ![]() |
Since this is not the religious section, I would talk from an economic point of view. Legalizing prostitution would at first reduce the unemployment rate in the country (don't be surprised males too would join in this line of business). When legalised, the government can tax them which brings in revenue for the nation, therefore adding to the GDP. I also believe they would have a recognised association which would help in structuring their activities and their modus operandi more, so that wud hopefully reduce young women falling into the hands of ritualists and so on. It may also reduce social vices like armed robbery since ppl have a better option of earning using bedmatic skills. ![]() And it shouldn't be restricted to Females alone to make it more effective. And btw, the government should emphasize that indecent dressing isn't tantamount to 'making it big in the industry' so we don't see half-naked ppl on the streets all day in the name of selling their 'goods'. |
I also write oo. One of my works was the short film script entitled 'Paranoia' that made frontpage on NL and the comments were mostly positive. I also have some scripts on ground. I luv acting and scriptwriting. |
I kinda feel pity for her sha. I lyk her view of life. And I must say she is beautiful. |
Winniedpooh, pls wat's d latest from OAU oh? I guess u went for d matric dat held yday. Cos I heard senate may hold a meetin tomao and if it isn't 'sucesful', we wudnt go for service wiv dis batch. Have you heard anything? 'Cos I wan follow dis batch oh! |
nanauju: Fp plsSee ur mouth. And why should it be on frontpage? I dnt tink dis news adds to anyone's reservoir of knowledge, entertains per se or makes u laff. Let's say NO to rub.bish news gracing our dear frontpage. More reasonable ones like job vacancies, latest happenings in Nigeria, family stuffs, relatnship stuffs, gud news abt our celebrities etc. But not this. Let it remain here, dat's y dis is celebrity section. |

Congrats oo!!! Wishing her and your wife good health and sound mind. You would live happily with your wife to enjoy the fruit of your labour. Your family's best is yet to come. Welcome, baby girl. |
khaady: Violence by festus iyayi and stillborn by zainab AlkaliViolence was adapted to the screen sumtym ago. I can remember being mentioned in Punch that Liz Benson played the role of 'Queen', though, I haven't read the book. |
Thanks to Mainframe, some wonderful books like 'Koseegbe' by Akinwumi Ishola has been adapted to the screen. They are the most faithful in terms of adapted screenplay. I think dat category needs to be created in the AMA awards. So that screenwriters don't think everything is about developing an idea from d scratch, even if it is trash. I would love to adapt that 'Agbako nile tete' of a book. The suspense is top-notch. Damn! I hope I can find d book sha.lol |
Seun: Purple Hibiscus could make a great movie. The role of the protagonist's dad could launch an actor's career if.well performed. The dad was the antagonist I think, not protagonist... |
*Brings out pen and paper* Me sef go write 'The 65 basic steps to a successful divorce'. And I hope it wud make front page or mods should prepare to meet me in court!!! ![]() |
1. 'Agbako nile tete'- A Yoruba book I read in my secondary school days. Very interesting. 2. 'Ojo buruku esu gbomi mu'- Another Yoruba book I enjoyed. 3. 'Joys of motherhood' by Buchi Emecheta. 4. 'Purple Hibiscus' by Chimamanda. |
Goddamnit!!! This is sad. I think the Nigerian populace nneds to be reorientated about education. Not everyone is created to have BSc or HND in life. And that doesn't mean they are lesser beings. Some have skills, talents and stunning abilities that can only be developed outside the 4 walls of a lecture room. What happened to vocational trainings, talent agencies and so on? And the discrimination of people that attend thses places shud be cropped to encourage footballers-to-be, actors-to-be, IT gurus-to-be and so on to flex their abilities and intellects. Most successful Hollywood actors didn't attend a University. Most arsenal players that some old men here in naija would almost give themselves heart attack over while watching their game didn't go to Harvard or Oxford University to get a degree so they won't be crucified by the society for not being graduates. Education is wonderful 'cos we can't do without our doctors, agriculturists, engineers, accountants and even, some of us won't know how to speak and write correct English, but it isn't meant for everybody! |
