We youth have lots of issues. That is why these obessed politicians will continue to walk over us because we don't believe in unionism again. I really wish there is Unity among us such that we can agree on something together and achieve it. Can we imagine the effect of drivers not driving fo just 3days?.... Like someone have said, there is still more to these permits. Guys please this is a faceless forum, let us all calm down. Really miss the daily funny and.... experience. 1luv! |

northbird: Only people that cud change their ways is a Union ( collection of a lot of drivers who agree to a common cause, unfortunately, that is a tall order.
Cos of some reasons pple WL giv. a. I'm on rentals, I CNT afford to strike. b). I'm on HP. , I'm almost paying up, I CNT join your strike. c). Nothing concern me. (d). I just lost my job , I can't join. the list of genuine reasons are endless.
Furthermore, Bolt is adding more drivers DAILY on the platform to cater for those that would go voluntarily or be deactivated by the system.
Bolt will keep increasing the pool of drivers cos they only take a cut of wat is in the POOL.
Also, its beyond ur control as an individual, pray n hop you get more favourable trips any day you set out.
Finally, think of the end game. A skill , a biz , that you would eventually switch to.
That's wat I think about everyday, "wat can I do to get out of this RAT RACE". You are right, Union! Unfortunately, we youth are now the most difficult set of people when it comes to "coming together" to achieve something in Nigerian Some of the listed excuses are not genuine compared to what we can achieve in coming together. We are too knowledgeable that we have trillions of difference in opinion over little things. God will help us. On the other hand, I think something is still not right between Uber and LasGvt or some head of VIO vampires about the permits. Because I trust Uber, they would have logged you out until you get it. But at the same time, everybody wants to play safe and avoid story yhat touch. The vampires won eventually. |

Going by all the enlighten and confusing issues above, it means roughly 70% of all Private cars in Lagos will be affected. Most of the VIO, LASTMAN and police Boss also use their car to curvey people from Island to Mainland. Imagine 110k from that number of cars. What I am saying is, the 110k license issue by each car owners(uber or temporary uber) is not possible. Lets stop stressing ourselves and watch out for some of the vampire that wants to take advantage of the situation to extort drivers. #BREAKTHEIR LEGS :-) .... call AngryIgboMan if you are caught. |

donfortune48: Baba I truly believe what they're saying that it's a setup. Cos all that while that I was dragging with Lastma, this lady didn't call me to know where I am. But immediately I escaped, before I could reach Onikan under bridge, she started calling me again.
The kind abuse wey I give am suppose still dey touch her for heart now.
We learn everyday sha. The abuse is not enough. If you can find out is a set up, please drop her digit as elders suggested and let us disturb her sleep. |

donfortune48: Something terrible and miraculous happened today guys. @12pm.
I was at Oando filling station marina when this request came in. Called rider, she said she's at the traffic light at CMS bus stop on marina. She was going to Aja.
I said okay, that she should pass the traffic light and move forward a bit so that I'll pick her up and zoom off to avoid Lastma and CBD men. She said okay.
I got there but couldn't see her, called her to know where she is, but she was just behaving like a novice.
All these while, I was equally looking out for the CBD and Lastma men, to know when to zoom off and run away.
Suddenly, a Sienna car stopped at my back so I couldn't see when Lastma might be coming again. Before I know what's happening, a Lastma van have blocked my front with over 10men in it. (some tax force were with them). the car at my back has gone by then.
I engaged reverse, but before I could move back all of them have jumped down, but I kept moving back and wanted to run away. They blocked me with their Iron, I climbed it with my two tyres(front and back), but the van blocked me. I engaged reverse again and tried to run from the right, they put that trap again I climbed it, but the van also blocked me.
If they block me on the right, cars will be passing from the left, when they block me on the left, cars will be passing from the right. This went on for over 2mins.
Over 4 of them started knocking on my glass and dragging my door to wind down and open my door, I kept telling them no, and was equally begging for them to allow me pass.
At a point I resorted to park, cos I was already causing serious traffic and they are already getting so angry with me. But then I remembered freshprince91's experience that he paid 20k, I just know that because of the stress I've already given them, my fine will be more than the 60k vio is collecting from uber drivers and decided not to give up till the break my glass and enter my car.
I tried to escape from the right, they blocked me again. I reversed and tried from the left, they also blocked me. I just raised my two hands up and said "okay I give up, I give up"; stirred fully to the right, but my gear is still on D and I was using style to observe the Lastma driver to know when to catch him off guard, while my hands are still up.
Immediately I noticed that he wasn't looking and cars are passing from the left. I just climbed the trap and sped through before he could realise and block me.
The crowd around there shouted in shock. I matched my throttle to the carpet and zoom off.
I ran straight to VI, packed somewhere around bishop Oluwole, came down checked my tyres and my plate numbers; they're still intact, and I just Thanked my God.
Finally na madness them dey take cure madness for this Lagos. Wow! :-)... this is "never say die" spirit. Are you Jamesbond or Jason Statham brother?... Really like this and thank God you escaped... the vampire LASTMAN will be : "Eran lo" Please guys, don't even slow down around that aside. Those guys are brand of Cain. They do this especially during the tempting surge. |

gunzANDroses: The hustle is what it is. I only feel for those on HP or rental because to break even is almost not easy but with a positive mind things can most definitely turn around.
@Angryigboman I don't know why you are so bittered? I have seen people in far worse situation than what most of us have found ourselves, yet they manage to squeeze out a smile every single day regardless.
Tojah and mrjaydee are both examples of what this hustle can give to you if you have a positive mindset and approach it with gratefulness.
Several pages back, a guy here narrated how his pal paid his tuition in Italy from this hustle and now he's off to Italy. Need I also mention another colleague in the hustle who has started a farm project...
@AngryIgboMan you always look out for the worst in this business forgetting that it also has its positives. In life we can't always have our cake and eat it but we can always try to come round no matter what the challenge.
@AngryIgboMan I am not going to take the part of those who would say if the hustle no pay you then quit! All I am going to say is approach each day as it comes with a thankful heart...you are what you think.
The other day I was at Ikotun to get something from the market, as I squeezed my way through the crowd, just by the corner of the road, sat a woman, crippled. Main looking at her you could tell she relied on the support of a helper to do the basics. Where she sat if she needed to take a leak she would probably do it on herself. If she needed to move, she did it on her stomach. But as I walked past her something remarkable happened. Even in that mentally and physically painful condition this woman could still manage to smile and laugh. I could only but wonder where the motivation for that joy came from.
I guess that day she taught me something which is:
take each day as it comes and find a way to make yourself happy.
regardless of whatever situation you find yourself there is certainly someone out there that is even worse off
smile and laugh, its free! there is no uber/bolt commission for this
I believe in the power of thoughts. I believe in the abundance of the universe. Uber and bolt may not give you your heart desire but through uber and bolt the universe can use you to write a remarkable story.
So to everyone today: "approach with a positive and a thankful heart". You really make a point but I think AngryIgboMan been bitter is out of it. He is likely on the road right now for quick money. Many do not understand the guy(smile). He is only putting drivers on their toes and as a reminder (in a funny way)because many a time we get carried away burning the candle at both ends in this hustle. Many of us have abandoned those broken reed uncle and turn our CV and applying for jobs to blank despair just because we build castle in the air around ehailing. We have not even talk or enlighten ourselves on the health implication of driving for a long period of time(I guess AngryIgboMan is compiling the right up). Lol. Happy Birthday in arrears Izzou baba and thanks for the other time. Tojah, thanks for abandoning your boy here...What a funny and enlightening forum NB: please elders, I switched from Samsung (faulty) to iPhone6 but UBER and google map is not navigating. Anybody with such experience should kindly assist. Good day guys. Cc: Izzou, Tojah. |

mayorhy: This thread is just filled with selfish, narcissistic, insensitive money mongers. I mean even though 2.9 surge is what the market is and is really not your fault but couldn't you at least show empathy? For a trip of 2900 someone ended up paying 8700 because of low supply of cars at that moment is that not heart breaking? Paying 300% of the cost of a service ?You yourself can you pay that without grudge? She felt like crying and that gladdens your heart? And to top it off you gave someone that just paid you 8700 for a trip of N2900 one star because you FELT she was going to give you one star! All we care for is about money in this country that we have forgotten how to be human. I understand your pain... the extra charges can be very painful. At the same time, If drivers decided to share their daily ordeal from fiders on this forum, you will pity drivers and new bees may even be discourage to go into e-hailing. Having said that, someone shared experience of how a rider left him in a dead state. Which is worst,? 8,900 or near death state? If you perceive very well this days, the driver/rider relationship atmosphere is not encouraging but hopefully, invincible hand will adjust that. Also, note that a real business man is seems like "money mongers" atimes. Nobody is perfect, we are just trying to.... Compliment of the season guys. |

Guys, it is real.... let us all endeavor to always check our cars after dropping off riders. (or riders that seems like bird of ill-omen). Took 2guys to Baruwa inside area, dropped them at their location (area which doesn't a residential), I re-parked to clean my car before embarking on another trip, found a bottle drink under the front chair, what it is I don't know, seems mixtures of liquid drinks, threw it away, cleaned up and just 2minute drive away from the street, Sars stopped me and questioned me, they couldn't get on my nerves despite their approach because I was so calm with them with positive response. Decided to check my car, no issue. What baffles me is the way they searched, to the extent of opening my footmart. Infact, lets just be careful even as we pray for protection. I thank God because the story would have been different by now. I hale everybody + Uber barred me today with 6% cancellation rate. |
