According to the list, Zenon is alleged to have collected the sum of $232, 975, 385.13 while Synopsis Enterprises collected $51, 449, 977.47 for the year 2010 and refused to import any oil.

This I find curious and the most shocking, and this I really need to understand, for my sanity at least. Where did those figures in bold come from? This is important here, it shoots to the very fundamental of how "research" is done by house committees.

Those figures are quite precise. Were they made up from thin air? Me thinks we need to shine the spot light on other committee members, they have some explaining to do!!

And what is even more shocking was how we were all going to take the results of the research with some measure of gravitas simply based on the excuse that committees have information we are not privvy to. How on earth did a company that now allegedly was not even on the subsidy scheme make it to the list to begin with, talk less of this weak argument for having to remove it?

Committees need to be more scrutinised and documents used for references crosschecked. Imagine if the report was released, that is what we would have based recommendations on?

The validity of that report has just been rubbished and a new one must be done. Who knows who else should or should not be on the list? Perhaps the press needs to be a bit more investigative and part of the process. I mean, how didn't the press catch this?

I keep saying that probe needs to be redone! Although more nails seem to be going into the coffin of that scrawny looking Lawan, I am not utterly convinced with Otedola's side of things. The thing get k leg small.

How was he intending to "set up" Otedola? Where is his own video or audio evidence?
Who knew of his plan before he collected the bribe and what evidence is there to show this?
Considering he seems to have no evidence against Otedola (the notes were marked against him not the other way round since he is the bribe taker), what was the plan for "setting up" Otedola? No evidence, no alibi, no back up. Guy, you're a crook.

Anyway, not for us to judge, this case better be going to court. The house of rep is not the judiciary. What is even sweeter? Count that money and let us see if those marked notes are still complete or whether the thing has already changed hands with suya seller.

I just hope all of this won't be done at the expense of subsidy report (which might need to be redone considering the implications of this man's involvement).

While the sources of the data used to analyse the state might be suspect, I am not more inclined to believe you anecdotal 'everyone I know from Anambra is rich' "data" either. Anambra is not just Onitsha and Nnewi. Lagos tends to have comparatively low poverty rates because it is largely an urban state.

If these figures are wrong or off people including the governor should release the right data or shut up. And if this data happens to be accurate then you guys should give the whole thing a rest, I don't know how you can say a state is not poor when it can't pay its staff without federal assistant. Is that what one calls a rich state?

The fact that other states might be in similar or worse situations does not justify it. The only redeeming position Peter Obi is showing how his government has grown and earning power gor his state. But the fist part in bold does not really hint at that, showing a state increasing expenditure but not earning power. Is this how you will proudly run a home? I would really like to see and El Rufai presidential candidacy in 2015. The analysis based on the data he had is generally sound. The only major weakness I see is in the rliability of his data, and I would be quite curious to know where he gote some of those figures from (since I didn't see any references anywhere and it is Nigeria we are talking about).

I recall during the Obasanjo dispensation when a few scandals involving members of the PDP party fighting among each other was covered up and details were not brought out because according to him, it was a PDP 'family affair', suggesting an internal approach to addressing the issue. If a new subsidy probe has to be done then so be it. This new development should be looked into but not at the expense of the original subsidy scam. If there has to be another probe into the oil subsidy probe then so be it.
