buzritchy: Thanks bro... It's a five days course buh I can still further my training months later for another few days course... Planning to take the course step by step
""" in d eye of the VO""" how wil I prove that am just a serving Corper, gonna be through next month... Which way can I prove social, economic n financial ties at the moment based on the short duration of the course ??
Tnx bro
Applying for a 5 day IATA training isn't impossible(although dicey given the fact that you are a youth corps Member) but you have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that you will return to the country after the training. Note that your application will be treated as a Visit Visa.

I believe you already have an admission letter from the institution offering the training having paid for the training with proof of payment.
Now you will need to draft a letter of introduction detailing your reason(s) for attending the training and what you stand to benefit given your educational background when you return.

By Social tie - Family/marital status; Economic tie - what investments do you have/does your sponsor have (could be property or business/Assets); Financial tie - What funds are available for this trip and how that will (or not) impact greatly on your sustenance/maintenance when you return.

Now as a serving youth corps member, it is difficult proving the above especially when you don't have a sponsor and even when you prove them, the onus is on you not to present yourself as desperately seeking to travel to Canada without the intention of returning. It is however not impossible.

NOTE : You will be required to pay $85CAD for Biometrics from 23rd October 2013 aside the visa application fee of either $75 or $150 (depending on whether you are applying for single entry or multiple entry visa)

It is compoulsory to maary before I can get visa , dis is injustice, I can. Go for admnisrtative review? Pls I need ur suggestion
That is not plausible!

They can't refuse you simply because you are not married and your not having dependents. You will need to produce the refusal notice (removing personal details) for people to give advice.

buzritchy: Hello Canadian peeps and hopeful in d house... I need your advice;
I want to do a course with IATA in Montreal, CA, a short time course. Plz what are my chances of acquiring a visa?
Is there any NL peeps dat av studied with them ?
Urgent advice needed from any1....... God bless
What is the duration of the course?

If less than 6 months, you will need to apply for a TRV just like a visitor, you don't need a study permit for this.
The standard is to have something to fall back on when you return to your country (in the eye of the VO) and in proving this, you need to have social, economic and financial ties in your country.

bayulll01: Solomonwise u are wonderful u no dey sleep,God will continue to be with u as u are helping us.presently I work with Stambic IBTC as a procurement officer if u ask me not related at all to what I read in the university, but I did a 1yr siwes with a producing company as a quality control officer I don't know if I can include it.anyway thanks and have a wonderful day ahead
I want to imagine that you have your first degree in sciences/engineering ( and I am going to base my advice on that basis).

Working in the bank with an engineering degree is not a misnomer especially when you are a procurement officer with the bank. However, you have to match your main duties with the eligible occupation you might want to apply under.

You see the challenge will be to score points with your work experience as it relates to your educational qualification. I would have advised you apply under Inspectors in public and environmental health and occupational health and safety but the work experience will be a challenge.

Applying as a Chemical engineer is also good but the work experience will also be a challenge.

My advice:

Study the National Occupational Classification (NOC) for the 2 eligible occupations above (Chemical Engineer and Inspectors in public and environmental health and occupational health and safety ) from the links below
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=2131
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=2263

Then compare your present main duties with the main duties specified in the NOC for the 2 occupations to see where you fit in. I know it can be a dicey situation but it is not impossible to fit into either of the 2 occupations given your present job title as a Procurement Officer. ( You might be an Engineering procurement officer for the bank for instance) .

bayulll01: Hello house bit curious I just talked to my sis in cagliary alberta, she gave me go ahead to apply and am applying as a chemical engineer the cap yet to full,my problem is I don't have work experience and she told me experience very important, and also what class of degree can one have before someone can apply. I also got a professional certification on occupational health and safety will it be an advantage.hope to hear from u guys
Work experience is really essential in FSWP, what work experience do you have? It is good you got a professional certification in HSE but do you have work experience in that regard?

Class of degree does not come in to play here, so long as your degree is seen to be equivalent to that of a Canadian.

I will advise therefore that you only apply under the eligible occupation which you have educational qualifications in.
TravelRe: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by solomonwis(op): 8:48am On Sep 20, 2013
bannana: I would expect that since the FSWP is an ongoing process then applications that have met all requirements but did not scale through the application cap selection stage will be kept and reconsidered for the next rounds of selection. There will be no point sending it back for example if the occupation remains on the list of NOC occupations for the next round, anyway my opinion though.I wish everyone good luck!
They don't keep applications that don't come in before the cap is reached. They return them back to the applicants except in cases where the applicants have a valid job offer.

Yes, the FSWP is an on-going process but the regulations keep changing every year and applications will be subjected to the rules in existence at the time when they are treated, it will therefore be unfair to subject for instance, last year's application to this year's rules as it will be to the disadvantage of the applicants hence the need to return applications that don't come in before the cap is reached.

Going forward, next year's applications will be treated under a different package all together. There will be an Expression of Interest by the applicants on a platform to be designed (just as it is with New Zealand and Australia) and a whole number of changes will be expected to take place. So, it is pointless keeping this year's applications for next year in-take given the number of changes expected.
TravelRe: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by solomonwis(op): 8:10am On Sep 20, 2013
bannana: @Solomonwis thank you for this explanation I was just curious and wondering if you applied for the FSW program and you have gotten a PER.
My second question is that I applied under one of the already filled caps though the cap had not been filled at the time I applied but I didn't get a PER till it was filled, does that mean my application didn't make the number of filled caps? going by your last explanation.Thank you.
I have gone through that route before (and I have an on-going FSWP going, though that started before the 2013 session).I have actually been on the FSWP since 2007/2008.

If you have not received a PER and your CC was not charged before the cap was reached, then your application will be returned (or it is on its way back to you).

mercylicious: Please any advise on getting a job offer in Canny.
I need that as if u hv a job offer, the cap is not to be considered.
Getting a job from outside Canada is a 1:1,000 probability, but it is not impossible.
The first step is to get your CV prepared in the format that is deemed acceptable in Canada and the second most important aspect is to visit job sites to submit CVs.

Not many companies want to go through the hassle of getting an LMO for a prospective employee whose capabilities have not been tested. Aside this, the cost of recruiting from outside is much more than recruiting somebody inside Canada.

It is not impossible but the chances are VERY VERY slim.

nanonye: Thanks for this update Solowis. Seems the numbers are filling up quickly. Please I have a question for you and the other guys that have received their PER. Please at what point does someone's application count towards the numbers quoted? Is it at the point CIC receives an application or is it at the point a PER is received by someone that has applied? For example, the Engineering Managers NOC Category currently shows 190. Now if i apply to that category, does this figure rise to 191 at the point when CIC receives my application in the post or does it rise to 191 after I receive my PER? Could someone please shed little light on the content of the messages they got both when CIC received their application and the message they got when they received a PER. (This is optional. Just if you wish to because letters are personal). Thanks a lot guys.
Your application is deemed complete and received officially only when you receive your PER and your CC charged, that is when it is counted as part of the complete applications received.

You don't get any message when CIC receives your message other than the tracking info from your courier company. The only time you receive info about your application is when your CC is charged and you receive PER.

Follow the steps outlined in the link above. If you want to apply online, you will determine your eligibility by answering the questionnaire and that in turn will determine the documents to be provided.

To be brutally honest with you, your chances are very very slim...

$2800 will not even get you a return ticket to and from Canada and meet up with other expenses to be incurred.

You don't seem to have any social, economic and financial ties to be deemed qualified for a TRV.

You might want to work on your finances as that might offset any concern your social and economic ties might raise.

Tranquill: I do not beleive that WES or any other agency for that matter can carry out evaluation without seeing the official transcript. The evaluation is done based on the guidlines agreed upon with CIC. It is the individual modules taken in the course of any particular programm that they use in establishing its comparism with canadian equivalence. Also, your official transcript confirms the date of birth you are claiming in your application for credential evaluation. The 'relationship' they have established with any institution can only hasten the process but not for them to overlook a basic requirement. They can only confirm if the transcript they received is genuine or not but no agency will take the 1st step of getting the transcript. It is the the responsibility of the applicant to make such request.
Well,I have my reasons for saying what I said and it is a fact. For some Institutions, they already have a database of all the school transcripts and academic records so either you send the transcripts or not, they can verify your document as long as they have a copy of your certificate. This is called Digitary® secure electronic document system.
TravelRe: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by solomonwis(op): 10:05pm On Sep 18, 2013
FunW: What to submit was showing as degree certificate, under required documents, I don't have any caption as transcript. The status prior to this afternoon was "received documents awaiting verification". This is because I had earlier sent a photocopy of my credential.
From what you wrote, it is obvious the only document received and accepted is your certificate. You still need to forward your transcript to them. Please continue with the process of dispatching your transcript ASAP.

Tranquill: How could they have received what was never sent? That email could be in error or an indirect way of reminding you that you have business with them. I will advice that you go to your university and be sure your transcript is sent to them as required otherwise much later they will be requesting for it plus the time wasted.

I wanted to do my evaluation with WES and hand started the online application b4 I changed my mind and used ICAS instead. I was still getting emails from them for several weeks. They told me when my process will be concluded even though I never sent any doc. to them among other updates I was getting. But later they started sending me emails that they were still awaiting by documents and so on.

So it makes sense to ignore what that email is telling you when you know you have not submitted your official transcript which is a basic requirement.
You will be surprised that WES can actually start and conclude an evaluation without "seeing" the transcript! They can work with just a copy of the certificate!
Now, that depends on the relationship between your school and WES, it depends on the means of communication between WES and your institution.
I don't know the OP's institution but I suspect WES must have been in communication with the school via whatever medium of communication they deem fast and necessary since they acknowledge receipt of a copy of the certificate. An e-copy of the transcript might have been forwarded to WES by the school. Now, this does not mean it is the case in this scenario, the more reason why you should look up the status of your application to confirm if they actually received a copy of the transcript.
TravelRe: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by solomonwis(op): 6:56pm On Sep 18, 2013
FunW: I received a mail from WES today confirming that they have received all the documents required to prepare my evaluation report, meanwhile I was just planning to go to my university next week with the transcript request form. Please does this means that they have already received the transcript from my school even though I didn't do any follow up at the school.
Since they confirmed receipt of all the documents necessary for evaluation, you don't need to send them anything. If you send any information now,it will slow down your evaluation.

You can check the status of your application to know what document has been received.

saxywale: I don't think it's time consuming. Gt at oyin jolayemi processing time is 24hours and I have been told that Gt at Adetokunbo ademola is same day. You get charged about 35 US dollars. But it's still the safest means of payment as you also don't have to worry about payment declined like it happens with credit/debit card.
At the rprf stage, the only acceptable method of payment is by draft in case planning ahead is needed.

One would need to open a domiciliary account though and that can take some time to open. Some get there friends to raise the draft on their behalf.
What is rprf stage? Right of permanent residence? if it is, then raising a bank draft won't be any problem in ACCRA as you can raise that even in local currency (I mean Cedis)

Nice piece but on my own case, my employer is the one who wants me to leave and fulfill my dreams. He was involved in preparing my skill reference letter and signed it.I'm grateful to him.
Declaration of age is acceptable (If I were you,I will attach a copy of the bio data page of my international passport along with the declaration of age.

You might be asked at a later stage to produce the real birth certificate so it is better you pursue getting one after the submission of your application.

I am sure it is a problem with your bank, they should have a better explanation for the failed transaction and they owe you that. I will suggest you call them up...(Personally, I make it a point of duty to know the phone number and the details of my Account Officer in the Bank, every account holder has one. They come in helpful when situation like this arise).

almaliki: Gtb close 2 1004 handles such transactions comfortably.....all u need is 2 buy d dollar draft ( bank charges included)and they will facilitate d transaction via a 3rd party bank in canada......(City bank).
I have never doubted the fact that banks in Nigeria can raise a bank draft made payable in Canada(which have to be routed through a foreign/international bank) but I know the process can be time consuming and even cost more.

The up side of this is however, you never get to expose your credit card/debit card details.

thebaft: @ifechukwukamso/solomonwis,

Not at all... I used a foreign bank draft to pay. I had to transfer money from my domiciliary account to my friend in the US and he was able to buy an international bank draft in Canadian dollars and send down to me. Thanks for the clarification.

Tone23: Hello good people on this thread, well done for your efforts!
Please do help out a brother here!

I've been stuck in the application process with WES for a little over a week now.
I completed the online application up till the payment page. And I made payment with a credit card but the site told me the payment was declined while the said application fees was debited from the account and transferred to WES account.

But each time I return to the WES Canada site to complete the application, the process keeps getting stalled at the payment stage. I have emailed them but no feedback has been received. I have tried calling their phone lines but all I get is an automated voice recording.

Time definitely is fast running as I can't even process the transcripts from my university as the University's Records unit has confirmed to me that without the WES Application Reference Number indicated on the completed WES transcript request form, they would not be able to forward the transcript to WES. Please comrades, your helpful advice is most solicited as a matter of urgency. Thanks in advance for your helpful feedbacks.
Which email did you send your complaint to?

manover: .Please House i need help from Gurus in the house who know much about getting a TRV for visitors. My brother who study in Bulgaria wants to attend a conference in Canada, and he didn't know the documents to submit.

1. In sofia Bulgaria, Canada embassy don't process visa there, they apply through Canadian embassy in Austria, and my brother intend to come back to Nigeria to apply from there.

2. How much does he suppose to have in his account? though he has 1.m!

3. How can he show strong ties, and what documents does he need to submit?
4. can he apply online while he's still in Bulgaria, or can he send his passport to someone in Nigeria to help him apply for the visa?
Ask him to apply online,if his application scales through he will be asked to dispatch his passport {through whatever means convenient} to the CDHC within 30 days.

Nobody can tell you how much he need to have in his account so you don't go building up your account to the detriment of your brother's application. From experience,CDHC prefers somebody with huge but verifiable funds{ Talking from experience oo}.

Home ties are better with documents proving he's economically, socially & financially established in Nigeria{I suspect this might be difficult for him to establish since he's based in Bulgaria} . Now things like his investments here in Nigeria, his marital status in Nigeria, his family status in Nigeria and his financial capability are considered as home ties.
