onatisi: Whether Feb 25 will replay itself again on the 18th of March is left to be seen but one thing is certain . For sanwo Olu to be running helter skelter and to be making big big promises , it shows that the results of the last presidential election in Lagos really rattled APC . Definitely the winning gap is more than the 20k been announced by INEC , if it was just 20-50k , sanwo won't be running up and down.
Very correct. The rate of work these last 2 weeks showed the presidential result was likely "adjusted" to give a respectable margin.
G5politico: Nigeria is on life support, we have spent 24 years learning, if we allow Apc , you ready to learn for another 8 years. Awon learners
Nigeria from its inception has been on life support and will continue to be until either true federalism is implemented or the country divides into its true different countries. NO individual can give you the El Dorado you crave in the present set up of Nigeria.
G5politico: I can smell your corn, anyway he was impeached and forced out l,you can't steal our mandate , go and join your mikado boys
All political prostitutes without any ideology aside their selfish interest always have reasons for going from one party to the other, either they were 'forced' out or there is confusion in the party or the party refused to give them preferential treatment by micro zoning positions to them, etc. Any reason is acceptable as long as the person concerned is untouchable that cannot be criticized but others can be chastised.
G5politico: Since the controversial and tainted elections that held on the 25th of February, it has been a familiar but uneasy journey for Peter Obi. The Labour party presidential flag bearer and leading candidate till the election results were announced in the early hours of the morning while men slept. as reality has set in and the battle has begun there are many that were with him but are no longer on his side. Many of them have been able to achieve their selfish aims and ambitions. The fight which will most likely end at the highest court of the land has only begun as one will expect with INEC and the ruling party seemingly hand in gloves. it's a battle of the people versus the strongest forces imaginable.
Along the line we saw the LP get some seats in the National Assembly which is key to any political success. with a divergent approach we saw people who had no political background run on the platform of the Labour party and win. A great win for democracy. in this same stroke of Obi grace, we have had some of the usual suspects sneak in and join the party. They are everywhere you turn but have remained quiet as we battle to save a mandate and most likely the future of this nation, we call ours. Ireti Kingibe is a strong member of the old guard, she has been in SDP, PDP, APC and has finally come to the Labour party. 20 years she continued to run for office while enjoying juciy government board appointments from her friends and cronies in power. she dines and wines with the top echelon of the APC, a place where untill a few months ago she use to call home. An ardent supporter of Sen Tinubu and president Buhari it is no suprise her recent antics have come in to play.
Mrs KIngibe who turns 70 soon has refused to support the fight to reclaim the mandate of the stolen election because of her victory at the polls over Sen Aduda of the PDP. She in her first acceptance speech ignored the party, its presidential candidate and refused to acknowledge the irregularities with the electoral process. After backlash on twitter, she proceeded to put up another one 2 days later when she tried to cover her tracks .it is rather unfortunate that people like her are the first beneficiaries of the good and hard work of ordinary Nigerians and Mr. peter Obi.
As she heads to the election petition tribunal to defend her mandate, she is part of those trying to dissuade Mr. Obi from retrieving his mandate at the court. although we do not need her support to emerge victorious it is painful that she has only been participating in photo ops with Mr. Obi but does no press conference or attended anyone that is not about herself. This is not the kind of person we need to fulfil and actualize our dream of a better Nigeria. in the last 20 years she has not contributed anything meaningful to the people of Kwara, Borno or the FCT. Her husband who is still a major supporter of president "elect" Tinubu has paid numerous visits to him before and after the election.
people like this must be weeded out before the sabotage is complete and the gnashing of teeth and wearing of sack cloth when they eventually show their true side. For someone who is already attending meetings on which APC senator to support the aspirations of becoming senate president. in the upcoming elections, obidients be wise, let us not open the door to our enemies.
At the bold, HE Peter Obi was in APGA, PDP and now Labour, a strong member of the old guard.
ImmaculateJOE: My Family living in far away Yola, Adamawa state, had to hurriedly travel to the east, because of the fear that the Northerners will start their usual killings of the Igbos.. Anytime there was unrest in the country down south, the Igbos up north suffers the most, whether the chief victim is Yoruba, Ijaw of Igbo..
You are right about the bolded, but I still don't see how Igbos suffered more than the Yorubas in that.
My first grouse against Peter Obi is that he shouldn't have brought up that kind of argument at all to support his claim, it's making him look an ethnic champion as some people are claiming.
Secondly is that if he can't verify that Igbos actually lost more then he shouldn't have said that, that would be a lie. Because the question the Yorubas will ask is to mention the things each Igbo person lost and compare it with what each Yoruba lost and let's see who lost most. Since there is no data on that available then he shouldn't have mentioned it at all. By the way it is on record today that it is only Yorubas that lost prominent people as a result of the June 12 and also lost young people as results of protests all over SW especially Lagos. None of such protests happened in the SE.
Infact he didn't sign this statement with his initials PO
Or maybe let's assume our brain is the one paining us so we can make sense of every genuis word from obi
Well, let me assume the video I watched on Arise TV was doctored that he never said all what I heard
Because many of us staying in the South West then have first hand experience of young Yorubas that that were killed as a result of the protests then. Not to talk of the loss of prominent families like the Tejuoshos, the Rewanes and the Abiola family.
I wasn't expecting his excellency to respond that way to the question asked.
A certain Abiola lost his businesses, he lost his wife and lost his own life
some Yoruba's lost their lives during the protests in Lagos, no one of such protests happened in Igbo land and there is no record of any life lost there.
Some Igbos in NADECO lost their properties just like some other Yorubas like Tinubu, Soyinka etc.
So, it's not cool of HE Peter Obi to say Igbos lost more to June 12, that would be a blatant lie.
I don't know why I like this your response .People should learn that you can always make a comment without insult.Kudos!!
Only illiterates, an egocentric individual and/or little children on this forum that feel it is only when you throw insults, shout or abuse that you can air your opinion. Such people also believe their opinion is the only correct one, forgetting that others are entitled to theirs. They don't know what intellectual argument truly mean.
Fortunately, some of us are at variance with the aforementioned attributes.
chivic: It will be concluded between now and eight months .Tinubu will not fold his hands but tye fear that will grip the Judge with what will happen before may 29 will compel the supreme court judges to give the right judgement. Alot of things will go abnormally.
This is the first time in history that a declared winner will not win any of Lagos,Kano,Katsina,Kaduna ,Abuja,Anambra .Though won Rivers (The rigging was not perfected with what I saw on IREV)
Okay. God keep us alive to witness as everything play out.
chivic: If only you know that TINUBU will not be president with all the fact on ground ,you will not rush to say this. Keep this my statement. When he becomes president, come and finish me. There are things we can see that you can't see.
Some of you sometimes talk as if you are children in this thing called politics.
Do you really think the Tribunal that has not even started sitting will conclude before May 29?
After their verdict, if it's not favourable to APC do you think they will not go to Supreme court?
Do you think the Supreme court will conclude in less than 1 year?
Do you think while Tinubu is ruling within the one year he wouldn't have put plans in place to make sure his victory is not overturned?
It is easier to overturn governorship election because they don't have direct control of the supreme court, but presidential election in Nigeria? once they tell you to go to court, they are telling you to go prepare for the next 4 years.
Cheryish: This man is actually doing very well for his people
Ojaja more is not Osun state government investment. It's for Ooni of Ife. He started in Ile ife last year, he plans to replicate all over Osun state and beyond.
blabulu2000: Perhaps we'll investigate this video.....
There are lots of ways to do an editing video .....however if this is truly Ooni of Ife...I reserve my comments
Nothing to investigate. He just stated the fact that the number of people that voted against him are more (that is if you add PDP, NNPP, and LP votes together) you have about 16million as against Tinubu's 8million.
The mischievous OP just tried to twist the narrative as if the Ooni is against Tinubu's declaration.
If PDP had not fragmented into 3 it would have been a landslide victory for PDP
Edipet: My brother just downloaded his polling unit result to see that they have changed the result in favour of APC, according to him LP won with large margin. They even used fresh results sheet to rewrite the result. With clean hand writing.
Why is he crying? is he the polling agent or the lawyer?
The original result signed by the agent of every party was snapped and sent to each of their situation room.
As at Sunday afternoon all the parties already had like 90% of their results from their agents.
So leave the rest for the lawyers and let them do their jobs. This place is not law court, emotions can be played on here but totally disregarded at the court of law.
Spiritmask: I am thinking of taking my presiding officer to court for altering my polling unit results. I want to go to court on the basis that the will of the people in my polling unit was altered. I want to file a criminal case against my presiding officer (PO) for altering my polling unit results before uploading them. Thereby suppressing the will of the people that voted in my polling unit. The constitution made it clear that we have the right to vote and be voted for, and it also criminalized the altering of election results. The election act 2022 state that it is the work of the PO to transmit results, and in no way gave them the power to alter the results. I have my evidence, both results, the real and fake one that was uploaded on inec page and also video evidence when the election was counted. Is it possible to take a PO to court, and will the court attend to my case? Which lower court should I start with? Lawyers in the house should clarify this.
I'm not a lawyer but I don't think you can sue the PO in a personal capacity, I guess it's INEC of your state you can sue and in that you can start from the High court in your state. I stand to be corrected though.
Napata77: Super Eagles star striker Victor Osimhen, currently rated by many as the world's most dangerous striker, is causing such a sensation in Italy with his exploits that the people of Napoli, have invented a 'Victor Osimhen Cake' resembling the NIgerian superstar, complete with hIs dyed hair and superhero mask.
The Nigerian has scored 21 goals in 25 games for Napoli this season, which leaves them 18 points clear to win the Italian title, the Scudetto, for the first time since Diego Maradona won it with them in 1993.
Majority leader MUST come from the party that has the majority in the house. NNPP may take minority leader by your sharing formula.
Though I don't see that happening, It will be very easy for APC to woe 4 people to their side (Ghana must go style or juicy committee position promise).
He built 1 school in his village, not 3 and he definitely has not built any ultramodern studio as you put it in Ghana, and there is no foundation of that anywhere in Ghana yet.
jimyjames: The failed comedian built free schools in Ghana , he is about to build an advanced movie and music studio in Ghana the first of it's kind in Africa worth 300 million dollars , he is bringing more African Americans to invest in Ghana
What are the names of those free schools and where in Ghana are they located.
The supreme Court didn't say it had to be rounded off to 13. Supreme Court supported 12 not 13. And it was Awolowo that was insisted 13 was the appropriate number of states to be won. And after that particular judgement, supreme Court stated specifically that the judgement can't be used as future precedence. I think that was necessary because they new they were wrong to have supported 12 over 13. And it's reason Awolowo felt cheated. Any debate?
Egoat: Actually the court ruled in support of 12 and not 13 and it's reason Shehu Shagari won the case. Your claims are flawed.
What's the flaw sir? Shagari won 12 states out of 19 and 2/3 of 19 states is supposed to be 12.666.
The court ruled that 12 is sufficient if they consider the number of actual people that voted and getting 2/3 of that.
I am saying the court affirmed the 12 states he won which made Awo to claim he was given extra state to make 13, since you can't actually get the 12.666 state to make the exact 2/3 of 19
thebestprice: According to the 1999 constitution of the federal republic, a presidential candidate after securing 25% in 24 states , must also secure 25% in the FCT to be declared winner of the election .
All the results from the FCT are in.
The APC was only able to get 20%, Short of the 25% demanded by the constitution .
Apc can please postpone the party ..more work to do .
Don't say what you don't know. Nothing like inconclusive, even if it is taken so, the law says a rerun to take place within 7 days
Egoat: The judgement ruled in favor of Shehu tho. I think Awolowo claimed the 2/3 of 19 states was 13 while the court insisted it was 12 and not 13. Going by the judgement, the 2/3 of 37 states is 24 and not 25 but then I'm even confused the more as to why it's so.
Its because of the number of states won by Shagari, using the 2/3 makes it a decimal and the supreme court ruled that since its people we are talking about and you can't have decimal people so it has to be rounded off to 13, Awolowo was insisting that in that situation it should be rounded down to 12, Eventually the supreme court ruled that based on the cost and other issues involved in conducting a rerun then it is safer to round off to 13. Final judgement.
That's why Awolowo still felt aggrieved till he died that he was cheated. The truth is that if that election went on to run off I don't see Awolowo winning it.
