gReenmAn:the key word here should be DISCIPLINE. even if you like, put the money in the desert and throw the key away, fact remains you know where the money is and n what direction you threw the key, and since you do, one day, you'll retrace your steps and look for the key if you are nt disciplined. the success factor to saving substantially is DISCIPLINE and CONSISTENCY. try this: 1. draw up a budget 2. set an amount u want to save 3. proritise and set apart a certain amount recurrent expenses (tithe, transportation, feeding, call credit, toiletries) 4. list out the essentials to buy and cross out as you buy them so u dont duplicate, the secret is in buying these things at the beginning of the month and for the month). for those in Lagos, try shoprite at Palms shopping mall, you'll get toiletries and stuff at reasonably cheap prices, but you have to walk through that mall with your eyes half closed, so you dont see the other shops 4. after doing 1 to 4, you'll realise you still have a lot left. the good news is that balance is for flenjuring/enjoing the secret to enjoying yourself is in setting apart an amount for miscellaneous expenses, that way you wont think of the savings as a burden lemme give u an illustration, if i earn 150,000 naira: 20,000 is for tithes and other church activities 60,000 is to be saved monthly, so i just move the balance of 70k online to my saving account from current, that way, i can withdraw from saving account without being charged COT all the time ( it really helps) then recurrent expenses: 10,000 for calls (postpaid line), 15,000 for fuel/transportation 10,000 for feeding in the office ( i stay with a family, so my weekend meals are on the house, lol) 10,000 for toiletries 10,000 for miscellaneous recurrent expenses, such as hair, pedicure and nails(my acrylic lasts a month, cos i make sure my hands arent wet for a prolonged period and as for my hair, i alternate between braiding and fixing moderate lasting styles with dark colours. that way, it wont look like i've had the hair on forever) guess what, i still have 15,000naira free kish to spend impulsively on things like aso ebi, without accounting for it and it sure helps to keep you sane. the more you save on your free 15k every month, the more you can spend in the next month. its called short term saving for short term goals. i hope this helps |
haba haba habaaaa u guys hold your horses tight ooo. Dan Foster wasnt deported from Naija ooo he got his much-deserved vacation allowed by Inspiration FM after working non-stop for 5 years in Cool FM and his first time in 5 years to leave the shores of Naija also, to see his son guess most of you dont listen to Inspiration FM much. he has called in severally from US especially on the Morning Kiss program (from 5:40am to 9am, i think) i still heard him talk on the station via phone with Oscar (his backup) around 6.30am yesterday and he should be back in 2 weeks. trust me, it takes longa than that to "renew your Naija visa". |
hey kudos, u got a nice thread going here pls i just got a windfall and im thinking its not too early to write my will, is it? im just 25 and still single, but who knows whats gonna happen tomorrow. i hate to see alll that money go to some strangers or strange institution, if you know what i mean any advice in the right direction will be greatly aappreciated. |
abeg ooo Pat Attah is cute to the last ooo, his stature is such that whether he's fattening up or slimming down, it will fit him just fine. just like Desmond Elliot, that guy has gained enough weight but he's still dashing. Chidi is cute too, just that his diction needs to step up. Pat Attah is a hunk anytime anyday |
hmm, lemme see. i think i have a touch of white on 80% of my briefs, love my bras with black underground tho |
afro kinky, 2 hours and its gonna be on for the next 2 months, lol love the hair (get up and go) |
YeS, We Can, We Shall and Thank God, We Have, I only wish heroes like Henrietta Tubman, MartinLuther King, Obama's granny, JFK, Lyndon Johnson, Obama's parents etc were alive to see this historic day. today's historic event goes to prove that I can be who i want to be, in life, regardless. |
sillyboy:i concur with silkboy, but hey, they r not always goodlooking. that outstanding level of confidence is wot magnetises babes to them. they have that "bring it on" attitiude that makes u just want to slip forever into their arms, BUT wot time they have for u depends on wot u have to offer them. the same attracting factor is the same repelling factor in them. they get so cocky it begins to irritate the heck out of you and its like they just don't give a darn wot u think and its get hard to pull yourself from them once u get stuck emotionally, except of course, they are ready to let u go. they act like they can get babes they want and its true most of the time. babe, u r just a number in their statistics and it seems like they always win in the end,,, oh its soo annoying. |
ebogentle:this is pure genius, lolol. loved it. |
i neva heard anything o and trust me, bad news as such spread like wildfire. |
im afraid of commitment, im soo afraid. that means im gonna lose my indepencence. its scary!!! that line irritates me, its not like u r going to prison, dumbhead |
March 18 i cant belive this: i have 74 birthday mates on Nairaland alone. i cant freaking bliv this. i have never even met a birthday mate face to face ever before. this is amazing and at the same time, |
@ ko soro, me sef i be naija Democrat ooo,,,lol |
this is my ideal gift package; communication, attention, confidence (i loathe inferiority complex) and maturity in handling situations, occasional material gifts (shouldnt be only on her baffday or Val's day), be protective (not possessive) of her, be the man in the relationship by acting it not saying it, let her look up to u so much so that u'll always be the first port of call in her life. trust me, she'll give u her all. at least, i would. |
infact e, the thing don tire me o, especially for those of us whose businesses depend solely on the internet connectivity. its slightly better today, but not all that. i hope they find a lasting solution to whatever the problem is. for the sake of national peace ooo. |
lol, very funny clip. u wont bliv who stole the meat from the cooking pot. |
if i had the chance to be a fine boy for a day, i guess i'll be too dazed to do anything useful. ok, i'll find out wot its like to jack off, lol i'll then do all the things i wish my man would do for me. i wont take communication for granted. i'll sit her down and ask her wot she wants in our relationship, i'll tell her wot i want and we'll take it from there i guess i'll give the woman in my life the treat of HER life, no holds barred. i'll tell her i love her soo much, so many times, she'll begin to wonder if i have become a broken record. i'll take her shopping, on a boat cruise, to the movies, take her dancing, then we'll go home, cuddle, pull down the curtains and turn the house to a cinema with her in my arms. afterwards, we will make passionate love and she'll sleep in my arms. WOW, all in a day. (assuming this is my babe) woulda loved to take her to DisneyWorld, but for the time constraint. i'll take charge of our affairs and find out wot its like to be the "stronger vessel". i will NOT cheat on her, i repeat , on her. i'll get married to the ONE! I LOVE!!! then i'll do those daily little things that matter, blowing kisses at her when we are together, winking at her every now and then, calling her at least once a day at work, to check up on her, leaving little goofy notes on the freezer, in the tiolet, by her bedside, on the gas cooker, and i'll make my actions speak even louder than my words. trust me, she is my wife, it wont make me feel like a sissy( unlike most men think) we'll pray together, do things together and fight together, make decisions together, and i will live up to my responsibility there are a million things i could do. but then, im happy im a girl, i love being one. |
a white cap sleeved low slung office shirt, highwaisted short, white, black and brown fluffy barbie doll skirt, complete with a tiny black ropey belt, flat white pumps, a white Chanel wristwatch and a brown D and G tote bag all well arranged to make it look office-compliant kai, my shakara too much o jare |
i was born a south- paw, but due to the issue of comformity while growing up, and i was the only left hander in my class, my nursery school teacher decided to teach me to write with my right hand. turns out i can now do every other thing with my left hand but write with both hands. i guess that makes me ambidextrous. i can also mirror- write with both eyes closed. im a bit clumsy tho, i hear thats wot happens when u force kids to use their other hands to do things. well, i'll say i have excelled in the art and social sceinces, essay writing, communicating skills and the likes, won a national essay competition in sec sch, but i dont kno if dats cos im a left- hander. |
ajari avae, i beg to differ please. i had this guy on my case and after months of sayin No politely, then rudely, slamming the door numerous times, not picking his calls, having my boyfy tell him off, reporting him to my siblings and even my parents, throwing his gifts in his face, almost cursing his family, this guy is still on my case after 3 years, e'en though we became friends after a year of constant fights (abi na by force?!) he only relaxed after he found out i broke up with my former boyfy and im now dating someone else, even while he was still on my case. i guess dat hit him harder. i guess its different strokes for different folks. and every guy has a raw nerve, so u just have to find it, finger it and the guy will get the message and let u be. |
hmm, to be or not to be. i would appreciate it if he were, but its left to him, really. i mean u cant force a man on these things. he has to WANT to be there, |
well, i don't have one, so don't kno au it is to live with one, irritate one and have catfights with one. except if i include the roomies in sec sch and uni |
niuboy:niuboy, thats where u r wrong. her songs are all-round. you want to kno au she keeps her man? im sure u've listened to Deja Vu and Bonnie and Clyde with her hubby Jay-Z. also, take time to listen to Upgrade You, where she actually portrays herself to be an asset in the relationship. which is wot women should be. then listen to Cater To You (au many women would do that today) - be that humble as to cater their hubbies dat way. and Suga Mama - be the suga mama instead of waiting for a suga daddy. look, her songs have messages for every person no matter au diverse, if only u take ur time to be attentive. moreover, if u feel its her song thats affecting ur relationship, then maybe ur relationship wasnt all that. wot of Rihanna's Take a bow, au different is it from Irreplaceable by Beyonce listen to Rihanna's Hurt, and u'll have a reason to shake ur head. truthe is, both ladies have carved niches for themselves, so its not fair to compare their works, they are different. i love Beyonce, and no matter au u portray her to be, she is a role model, i mean in real life, who has ever heard of a scandal? she is just like Obama, too good to be true. she is a wifey material anytime. |
im addicted to, here goes( in no particular order): Heaven Sent - Keyshia Cole If i were a boy - beyonce one step at a time - jordin sparks 7 things - miley cyrus leavin - jesse macartney just a friend - mario take a bow - rihanna the girl is mine - michael jackson ft paul mcartney game over - P square Waidi - Asa upgrade you - beyonce Grace Kelly - Mika (What happens in Vegas soundtrack) Suddenly i see - K T Tunstall (Devil Wears Prada soundtrack) departed (right here)- brandy so what - pink street credibility - 9ice this is terrible, cant go a day without listening to them. i have them on my fone, on my laptop and even burnt them in a CD so i can listen to and from work. listening to Jordin Sparks' now. Gosh, i love music |
hey, i love those guys. they have talent and i still do have a maddening crush on the guy named ZEAL and their single, "Nobody go Solo" isnt soo bad, its just that the current influx of interesting artistes in the industry kinda pushed them to the backstage. ideally, there arent expected to be releasing songs every 3 months, so let them have their break. P.S: abeg if u have Zeal's contact, i no mind ooo |
hmm, nice one, short and straight to the point |
nice piece, hope u dont mind if i critique it, tho: i must admit it sounds kinda simple, basic, like rhapsody from a naive innocent mind, utterances from someone who is yet to even take the first step towards self-discovery. a liitle polish tho and it becomes a masterpiece ok, lets see wot kay9 will make of it |
Ujujoan, sorry to burst ur bubbble, but i think i love Eva Longoria, i mean Gabi Solis, in DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES more than thee. she is class/high maintenance and poise all personified and hmm, the dresses, classy too. Also Meryl Streep in Devil Wears Prada, hmm define a whole season of fashionwear with the pursing of my lips. Timeless |
well now, im reading Robert Ludlum's Janson Directive and emmm Justin Scott's the Cossack Bride concurrently, as in one in the office and one at home. i kinda mix the story lines up sometimes. i have Dean Koontz' Infinity and Dragon Tears by emm (is it Stephen King) waiting in line. im beginning to fal in love with Koontz and more in love with Ludlum. |
