TV/MoviesRe: 'Amazing Grace': The Movie By Jeta Amata by spicy007(f): 9:55am On Nov 09, 2006
OMG!!!!!!
i didnt know there was a forum here on this one-of-a-kind film.
The Amazing Grace (untold story of the world's most popular hymn),

the premiere was held in Nu Metro, the Palms shopping mall, Lekki, Lagos on Thursday, the 19th of October, 2006, and BELOVED, I was privileged to attend. it was strictly by invitation, and my cousin (whose name appears first on this VIP list) got me the invites, lol, i got two actually, and went with one of my friends, and believe me, it was a night to remember,

the "who is who" of the film industry, VIPs and Dr & Mrs. Donald Duke were also in attendance,
kissLou Akande kiss (son of Chief Harry Akande, the business mogul), dakore egbuson, sasha, Kenny , D-one, ID on the street, chidi mokeme, Ego (Lagbaja's singer), the Amatas and sooo many others were in attendance.

the film is a must-watch, cos it reveals another side of the slave trade era that not even "Roots" showed.
and whether u believe it or not, amazing grace is our very own song, the song of the Calabar people,,,, and we may be more cunning than the whites, but they have always been faster and smarter than us, want to know why i said dathuh
the answer is in Amazing Grace,,,

and meeennn, Fred Amata and Mbong (i cant remember her surname) did a marvellous job.

the film is a must-watch and must-have,

wow, dipo,
that was awesome,,,men,,, love the story line and all,, very innovative, you really have the talent of a prolific writer, but you just need a lil brushing up here and there, and watch out for diction and spelling errors.
men, we have another Achebe or Soyinka in the making.lol.
u go, guy grin grin cool grin grin
i'll score u 9 out 0f 10.

@ crazykid,
wot in God's name was that, that was OBVIOUSLY lifted from a book, and it was quite disturbing, belongs in the porn section, not here. angry angry angry

PoliticsRe: 'Skentele' President 2007: A Comic Strip by spicy007(f): 9:07am On Aug 01, 2006
hey, nice comic strip, Seun, really nice grin grin grin

made me laff and at the same time, made me think

HERE ARE A FEW POINTS IN FAVOUR OF THE SO-CALLED "WEAKER SEX"

but it is an established fact that when you want to fight corruption in any place, its the women you have to call, because when they have an ambtion, they wont rest till its done and of the sexes, they are less corruptible,

look at babes like the female Indian president(i dnt kno if she's still there, elizabeth taylor, margareth thatcher, even our dora akunyili, ngozi okonjo-iweala, onyiuke here in naija.go down memory lane and remember babes like funmilayo ransome-kuti, madam tinubu, and moremi, madam bilikisu( the so-called Queen of Sheba)the amazons of Dahomey(now Benin Republic) who spear headed crusades and made things happen in during their time,,,not forgetting terrorists like Efunsetan Aniwura of Ibadanland
look at wot they've done with the positions they've been given,

for a war-torn country like liberia, to have enuff faith to vote a woman president (madam Sileaf), then why cant we just put aside oue egocentricism and male chauvinism, give it a try and see wot happens huh huh huh

i think we are afraid of change in this country,,,we are afraid to give women the right to rule cos we are comfortable relegating them in the background, it suits the men that wey and thats why over the centuries, there has always been the battle of the sexes. oh God, when will it ever stophuh

women have always been known to be hardowrking and VERY effective managers. lod has given us the kind of strength which can never be equalled by men. they have the physical strength, we have the mental strength. look at most homes, who makes it workhuh most men have become irresponsible, leaving even their own share of responsibility to the women.

women have gone to places and done jobs which were initially left to the men, but how many men have tried to switch places with their wives or even appreciate wot they do in the homes?

you wanna know how a man is, look at wot he has made of his own home, SIMPLE.

i hope with these FEW words of mine, i've been able to convince you that women can do better than men, even in the leadership of a country like ours, NIGERIA

TV/MoviesRe: What Do U Think Of The "black Bra" by spicy007(f): 10:42am On Jul 26, 2006
im not a home video fan, but my impression changed when i watched BLACK BRA, especially the part played by Nonso, the supposed playa. his room mate made the film very interesting and he acted his part so naturally, on would think he's been in such situations before. oge okoye was also one of a kind.

another film i like is Guy on the Line , acted by Juim Iyke and Rita Dominic,a bout how far a guy would go to get a girl,
the industry is coming up.

however, nigerian producers need to dedicate more time to the ending of films, cos its just as important as the beginning.
the end of black bra pissed me off, quite poor, y would everyone just die off like that? angry sad sad

all in all, it was a good movie and i'll always recommend it ANYTIME

CelebritiesRe: What's Up With Stella Damascus-Aboderin? (After Husband's Death) by spicy007(f): 5:32pm On Jul 14, 2006
meeen, it takes a whole lot more for a lady to appear in the public, after such a great loss, than it is for her to go into mourning for3 months or more. harsh as it may be, life must go on. and its true, who knows waht she goes through at night all alone, with noone to console her. and who also knows the battle the Aboderins are waging against her. what if she wasnt given a dime after his death. there are a lot of issues we forumites dont know about Stella, so before we jump to conclusions on how soon she ought to appear in the public, we need to give her a break.

i say its her life and she knos how best to live it, cos noone can live it for her.
she's still in her 20's for goodness' sake. let the poor beau be o.
TV/MoviesRe: 'Lord Of The Rings' Or 'Harry Potter' Movie? by spicy007(f): 5:30pm On Jun 28, 2006
i dnt kno wot to say, cos there is toon mucha nd none at the same tin

I saw LOTR first, all three at one sitting, and I couldn’t sleep for days. I was still reliving the experience with frodo and Sam and it all seemed so real and powerful, I could feel their pains, fears, I could feel everything.
Now, that’s wot I call a good film, a classic trilogy. But its not exactly for children cos of the war scenes and all. It’s targeted at the mature-minded people, though i saw it when I was 18. Bought the VCDs when I was 20, and I still watch it every chance I get. Each time I watch any of the trilogy, I am awed, and I LOVE LEGOLAS to pieces.

now for Harry Potter, hmmm, the first day I saw philosopher's stone, I enjoyed it, but the chamber of secrets was like a web, I couldn’t quite get it. Then came prisoner of Azkaban, I still dint get it, but then I saw the goblet of fire and it was captivating. Now the books are out for parts 5 and 6, namely the order of the phoenix and the half-blood prince.
I read the 5th book, and I just couldn’t wait to get me hands on the 6th one. The films aren’t out yet.
After reading the 5th book, I felt the strongest urge to watch the films from the beginning so I couldn’t understand the story line better.

That’s my personal review of the two films
Now for the ULTIMATE COMPARISON,
THERE IS NONE,

Sorry to disappoint all HP fans, of which I am one, but LOTR is a legend in the Hollywood Hall of Films,

I LOVE the sound track, I still hum it every chance I get.

its like comparing Michael Jackson to Mario, there is no comparison, and if there is any, I would consider it an insult to Michael, no offence to Mario fans though, but I’m sure you all agree with me.

u just hurt my feelings real bad.
tunde and shiffi are not bad-looking in their own way, but as far as spicy007 is concerned, ZEAL is the most handsome. tall, dark, fit and damn good-looking. he's my choice anytime, anytime.
he looks like a lot of fun to me wink

my boyfriend cant wait to assassinate him. grin

my favorite is the part Zeal took in the video "call ma name"

fauzziya,

hey, pips, u y' all doing on this thread?
to me,
Paloma is the most beau(good facial structure and high cheek bone-the trademark of all correct models),
followed closely by Barbara(pretty face and a lovely body-figure cool
and then Ines(despite her age, she can still conveniently win a beauty contest. maaan, she's got a got class)
these three ladies have poise and know how to carry themselves too.

Jalal, which one is "Lorenzo's Wife"? is dat supposed to be another Mexican soap soon to be on the screen? if it is, au did u find out? huh

by the way, u guys, WUAM comes up at 7pm everyday on MiTV ooooooooooooo.

hey, thanx modups, but lets be realistic, bosses like that are hard to find. the kind of bosses most of us get are those like mariano or fabian, and we just have to make do with them or bow out.
fine, i admire mr. avianeda, but i think diego's part is more realistic than his .
on my list, after diego comes harold and then alvianeda
not forgetting wuancho, who represents a whole lot of subordinates, sucker and eye-service personnel who only roll with you when the going is good

hey, jalal, i had the hots for barbara till i realised a was a female too (hey, dnt think too far)
but i agree with you, she IS HOT, lovely model shape and carriage, pretty too.
she's the best if you have her on your side, dnt you agree?

pls can you update me on wots bin going on since Monday?
thanx a truckload

my favourite actors in the order of skill are:
fabian (that guy is dashingly handome and looks his part: a heartbreaker- a very good actor) shocked
miguel (a cold hearted snake, i hope his species is not in naija)
diego (loverboy extraordinaire, i wish someone could love me like dat) lol cool

actresses:
inez( my no 1, anytime, very stately woman, wish to be as fit when im her age) smiley
paloma (soooo pretty- a strongwilled, focused and strong hearted babe, my idea of an ideal woman) kiss
barbara (the scheming vulture, i dnt pray to have that kinda woman as a rival but bliv me, she's good at what she does)
daniella (the most realistic and sensible girl i've eva met, real and tela novela) wink

so thats my list and im sure y'all agree with me

hey, noni, i cant claim to surpass you in the list of fans, but this is one babe im giving all the kudos to. she's a natural born star. i love her, and u can interprete that anyhow u want. there's a cousin of mine who's her close pal and he knows alot other stars, but i havent had the opportunity to be introduced yet, one of these days, i hope. as for the song issue, I LOVE IT, it voices out wot a lot of chics cant dare say or do, reclaiming back ur freedom from a choking relationship and enjoying the beauty of singleness. the quality is in the message.
she's my role model, anytime
hey, early this year, i was told i look like her and believe me, i dnt need anoda complement for the next two years grin

hey, morning to y'all.
dint have much of a night cos i dreamt of fabian and angela chasing me all night. maybe that cos i slept off thinking of all the bad things i could do to PHCN, with the help of both angela , fabian and barbara( the master plotters).
anyway, i woke up before they could succeed in getting me.
PHCN did their worst last night, could some Good Nigerian-Samaritan shame them by updating me on wots been going on for the past two days in WUAM?

thanks for being bold enough to notify us(the feminine gender) of your rules.

we were actually beginning to think there were none for you guys.

as for the 6th no 1 rule, sometimes actions speak louder than words, and you know that some things just cant be said. believe me, hints work.

i see you'll be on that couch for a LOOOOONG time, amidst other denials/punishment.

grudgingly though, i'm willing to admit it was a good write-up,

thanx for the insight, omozehio,
what a cold hearted snake that miguel is. im sur in his mind, he said ,"good riddance", when he saw berenice dying

i have to get home on time. wont want to miss this episode. i just hope we have light, u kno PHCN

another issue is dis: my sister prefers sunset beach which shows about the same time as WUAM. problem is she's older than me. nothin dey happen.its WUAM or nothing else angry

pray for me, biko wink
TV/MoviesRe: Cuando Seas Mia: 'When You Are Mine' by spicy007(f): 4:35pm On Jun 06, 2006
oh, omozehio,

so miguel and berenice started staying together when the truth came out. she deserves the end that came to her. don't tell me miguel drove off after knocking down berenice, or was it someone else?how cold-hearted!!!
do the other witches know that berenice is dead?

i learnt that barbara's fake pregnancy has been found out by fabian.  how did day happen? shocked
poor inez, i hope she doesnt follow berenice very soon, what with all the calamity befalling the noble family

as for Diana, i hope she also doesnt run after the order of berenice, running fron her family into the hands or a mentally unstable scheming babe.  another recipe for disaster. God help them all
TV/MoviesRe: Cuando Seas Mia: 'When You Are Mine' by spicy007(f): 4:20pm On Jun 06, 2006
or better still, wot guys see in girls that make them go gaga. beauty goes only skin deep, thats wot i'll say about all the Sanchez Sorranos females, except Daniella , of course and possibly Inez.  all of them are scheming bitches behind gorgoeus bodies and pretty faces. Dats wot makes them get along in a way, they all have a kindred spirit, apart from the surname they all share. i guess thats also wot pushed Berenice to her early grave.
guys, watch out, things are not always wot they seem
same goes for babes too
shocked shine your eye well well shocked
peace out, y'all. cool

modups, thanx for shedding light on wot hapnd in yessy's episode. didnt get to watch it cry
larry o, i share your point of view on daniella being the big sista instead of daniella, she's the only one who's head is still on her shoulders. proper case of esau and jacob.
please, can u tell me wot has become of miguel and that crook that was doing fabian's dirty work for him. he just disappeared from the screen sometime ago. i kno he has a major role to play in the case of those fictitious assets.
barbara is always a force to contend with anytime, she always finds a way to get fabian back, who in turn uses marsha to get wot he wants. funny, how love manages to work in a triangle.
can't they just dedicate a channel (say MITV) to us WUAM fans, and the rest of the world can watch tha world cup on the other channels cry cry cry
pls, i wanna kno wot led to berenice's death and how it hapnd, and also how they all got to kno dat the child belonged to miguel
