I had an argument with a friend concerning the way parent cage their kids in the name of security. I understand that Parents are becoming insecure day by day because of kidnappings and other vices but the children are the ones being neglected.
In my childhood days, we have a lot of fun games which do not corrupt. Games like ludo, counter-ball, snake & ladder, chess, swerve (not sure of the spelling), trown-trown, ojoro, ayo e.t.c. and we have variety. Our compounds were not fenced and we do not have burglary proof (protector as we call it now-a-days) or iron doors. We go to Parks every weekend whether school was in session or not. We also enjoy the wait for the television stations to begin by 4.00pm with the usual mighty mouse, roger ranjet, voltron and speed racer amongst other interesting programmes like tales by moonlight.

Each time I remember my childhood days, I still believe that my childhood is better in terms of fun when compared to the modern day kids whose major source of fun is the television.
Nairaland, do you think that the modern day kids have better fun than their Parents?

Do nothing and stop bothering yourself. He said he wants to reflect, just give him space to reflect. Marriage is not dating, he really needs to reflect if you are what he desires as a wife. OMG, Rivers State has become more insecure than it ever is. Assassinations has become the order of the day especially this tenure. Every week, there is a news of either attempted assassination or assassination without one person being arrested or detained or even charged to court yet we have a Governor who never stays in office, keeps flying from one country to the other. He is currently in South Africa enjoying while people are killed on a daily basis.

I know the man who was murdered. He was a peace loving man and my Principal in Baptist High School. I feel very sad because the list of people assassinated in Rivers State is worse than ever. Only God will save us now.

In as much as the yahoo boys have been succeeding in the past with the collaboration of some bankers, then this move won't survive their tactics. It depends on the category of the mess up. There is this saying: "if dog bite you once, the dog dey craze, but if you allow that same dog bite you again, na you dey craze".
