One major misconception people have about Igbo is that they think all Igbos are one unit. It was when the white man came that we have a geography called Igbo, prior to that what was available were settlements and each unique in their own way. There are towns in Imo whose origins are Okirika and they call them Umuokirika (you can Google) they have been living in present day Imo for centuries and they still acknowledge their origin which is Okirika. My grandpa used to tell us that we have relatives in Imo that settled there a long time ago, the state creation in Nigeria did not take cognizance of familial affiliation and it is stupidity to think that all Igbos are the same. Infact after I did an extensive research I had realised that more than 10 large towns in Imo are from Rivers, just as the Ndonis have same dialect and culture with part of Anambra. It is people who are from Rivers that are supposed to bring in our brothers who are in Imo because most Imo communities have origin in Rivers. The Ozuzu community scattered around Mbano, Mbaise, and Mbaitoli all originated from the ancient kingdom of Ozuzu in Etche Rivers. Hence I do not bother myself with people whose family has no name or history to cloud my judgement about Igbos and Rivers

It depends on the part of Rivers you are from, and your family affiliation. Despite being from Rivers, Isiokpo to be precise and my mum being from Imo, I have always seen myself as Igbo, infact I speak it and when we travel to my mum's place we share same values. Our dialects may differ just like how an Anambra dialect is different from an Owerri. Infact my cousins can understand my dialect better than an Igbo from Ebonyi or Enugu ... perhaps, you are from the southern part of Rivers who are clearly not Igbo, like the IJaws, Kalabari and Okirika....

A lot of Airline do this, it is a form of risk transfer for Airpeace and to gain competitive advantage. For example if Airpeace wants to get insurance for its flights being a new entrant the insurance will be massive. It is easier to operate this way for a start

it is not a foolish question. When having a discourse you need to look at data available, for example, the median income in Nigeria is between $2 - $20 per day ( according to AFDB), that means that a salary of 50k is in the lower-middle income band. Is it too small? Definitely it is ...but obviously that is the reality. Having this basic knowledge will equip you with the right information to engage more intelligently.

I recently lost a friend here in England after series of chemotherapy, at a point my friend refused going for chemo and started growing back lost hairs. The pain was always excruciating, assuming there was no money this friend would have died years ago ( perhaps we wouldn't have met) but seeing the lifeless body with teary eyes after all the pain, I just went home and got myself a 120pound scotch, cos I couldn't grieve with my clear eyes

At 5 years, I will suggest you find another thing to do and just leave PhD. What will happen to your potential contribution to knowledge in those number of years? You would be doing the PhD while others in another place are publishing results? My friend, find something else and do!

I am not an academic, I have been in management and technology consulting and I still work full full time. my PHD is in an evolving field ( I am working on integrating Quantum Machine learning approach to make Chatbots smarter and enable them respond to threats in real time). You don't do that in 5 years. I know the type of PHD dissertations you are acquainted with

if you are actively working you can do your PhD for 12 years. It is joblessness that makes people sit and do PhD for 3-4 years. When Sanusi wanted to do his PhD in risk management he resigned from UBA in order to pursue it full time (although that didn't work out) cos he moved to Fbn. He could decide to continue with his job as head of risk and take his time to do it. I have been doing my PhD for the past 5years but I have jobs and other important matters to attend to hence I gave myself a 10 year span for my PhD
