1Alex: Which one is work visa? Or you mean Job seeker visa?
For work visa, you need to get a work in portugal first before you can apply for work visa.
Job seeker visa is not cheap also. You need a health insurance that is worth 30,000 euros for you to apply.
I wonder how they think a job seeker will raise 30k euros. If I have that amount, wetin I dey find go Portugal. You don't need 30k euros all you need is to sign up to a health insurance scheme in the country and the health insurance cover Should be 30k euros. As a young person who doesn't smoke you can get good health insurance plan of 25 euros a month and they will guarantee a cover of 30k euros or even more |

How will the economic shrink if we refused to import vehicle for politicians for one year? That will save us fx. If they were using locally produced cars then that would create a problem for the industry. How will the economic shrink if they refused to spent our fx on travelling for one year?
Maybe there is something I missed, unless there is a significant impact of this on the local economy that I missed? You stated that if we agree to a pay cut of 35k, you did not state cost savings as a means of further production process in your previous statement. Rather you were advocating for freeze in income to stem hyperinflation. |

They will not claim the vehicles that supposed to be giving to them this year. No travelling for the rest of the year. I can assure you that our budget will improve considerably. then the economy will shrink, there will be massive unemployment, we will go into recession and a demand push inflation will arise |

1.Naira is now devalued..
2.Production costs of fuel have risen a whole lot.
The honest truth is that we have been protected from high fuel prices for decades...and now that protection is wearing off because it is becoming darn too expensive.
CBN can't do much, as we have to earn more forex, before we can see the light of day. Government isn't doing much about that. that is what the government wants you to believe but that is not true. I have been a banker and worked in advisory services to banks. We have the money to support subsidy payments. Our only problem was wastage of public funds. What is the rationale behind removing subsidies and then increasing states FAAC for the governors to embezzle? What is the rationale of removing subsidies and then you are trying to create a shabby welfare system where the money is continually being embezzled ? The government wants you to be gaslighted and you deeply buying into their cheap propaganda. |

nairalanda1: Yep, you are right, and the people criticising you don't know it.
The reason why we have massive inflation under tinubu is simple....for decades we spent billions of dollars to maintain the illusion the naira was stronger than it was.
Come may 29, 2023, the forex reserve was down to 4 billion dollars and our dollar income was eaten up by debt servicing. A lot of it. SO, the illusion cracked, and here we are with the results...massive inflation.
At least it is still tinubu's fault. If He and buhari had kept quiet in 2012, by now we might have been over the worst. Did you know we have started paying subsidies? Last month 907billion was spent in subsidy. Did you also know that the CBN has started intervening in the Forex markets by selling to the banks. We are now doing exactly the same thing we renounced in May. We did the right thing hurriedly and foolishly and it became a disaster |

I can bet not one Ala Yoruba Igbo would swap their Nigerian passport for a Biafran one. Not one. There is oil in Imo, Abia and Anambra. Imo has the largest gas deposit in Nigeria. Thissystem: Naija my country!! E go better
We really need to do the right things to fix the Nigerian economy. Come up with the right policies, it’s as simple as that…in addition to prayer. We don’t fold our hands and just be praying. Even the Bible says that Faith without works is dead!
If any new policies are not working, then revert them to the old manageable policy that’s not as bad as the new policy until a better policy is figured out. It is not a ‘defeat’ to reverse a non-working new policy to the old one.
Subsidy was removed without a plan to cushion the effect on the poor masses. Naira was allowed to float without thinking about and working on the factors that can ensure its success.
How can the economy work without the right policies in place and implementation of those policies?? we paid 907billion in subsidies last month. Dey play |

He should get out It is a game, for one team to win the other must commit and error or play below par. However, when a team performs poorly, the manager should take responsibility not Iwobi. The fact that Iwobi played for 72mins means that for that duration he was the best Nigeria could offer. If there were someone better, the coach should have subbed him. A coach cannot keep a better player on the bench and field in an unfit player. The moment we understand this subtle nuances, the more mature we will become |

Business › Re: Dollar Hits All-time Low, Crosses N1,500 At Official Market by SSpeter(m): 2:21pm On Feb 13, 2024 |
WhiteWood: Your calculation is WRONG --- Here is the proof --- You describes a situation where your friend invested $200,000 in Nigerian real estate in 2019. At that time, you said the investment was valued at 72,000,000 Naira. Your calculation suggest that the exchange rate was approximately 360 Naira to 1 US dollar 2019. Check it yourself.
To find out how much 1 dollar is in Naira based on the given conversion of $200,000 equaling N72,000,000, you can divide the total Naira amount by the total dollar amount:
1 dollar = (N72,000,000 / $200,000)
By performing the division:
1 dollar = 360 Naira - IMPOSSIBLE
Therefore, based on the given conversion, 1 US dollar is equal to 360 Nigerian Naira. -- you are wrong and do not understand what he wrote...you invest 200k USD which is 72m in Naira @360 as at today the value of the investment is 200million Naira; however Naira has devalued from 360-1500 against the dollar. Hence, the real estate worth is 200million/1500naira which gives you 133k USD the guy has lost almost 67k USD in that investment |

Winning123: You are damn wrong. If he invest in real estate the value of those properties would also be higher now. Has your rent not gone up? the value of the property went up from 72m to 200m, however the rate of devaluation was higher which eroded the profit he has made. If he wants to divest for instance his initial 200usd is now worth 135usd. He made a loss |

Kukutenla: The north are hypocrites. And that is why Nigeria is not a country. To claim Buhari got away with murder because of cult followership is to deodorise the pungent tribal and religious fundamentalism that's at the base of his followership. Most of Buhari's followers in the CPC they formed are clueless, dumb and sectional. Just check out their performance as ministers and heads of agencies. The only appeal they had in the north was based on tribal and religious ideology and not any superior group interest.
It is also disheartening that after the maladministration CBN went through under Buhari and Emefiele is lackey, Tinubu couldn't get a better fit for the job of repositioning such a critical institution. What's worse is his elevation of CBN above NNPCL which has fared better previously in terms of audit and compliance. However, it is obvious Cardoso is not running a one man show. He's under the tutelage of Edun. So it's more like the voice of Cardoso but the hands of Edun. And this is not to say I agree with Kperoogi's assessment of him Everyone in Finance knows that Cardoso is not fit for the job, even if Tinubu wanted the job to go to an Omoluabi, there are sharper and smarter Omoluabis' in Finance and economic planning. Cardoso doesn't have the skills to navigate this murky waters that is why his only rhetoric has been "ensuring the core function of the CBN" yet, we have not seen any price stability. |

Your second point does not put the state revenue generation into consideration, money must be made...
Did you just say 'easily fix the road'? Remember he has less than three years to round up his tenure. Leaving a cumbersome project like road isn't advisable (Ambode's case scenario).
Creating a balance in infrastructural allocation to some places within a state isn't a faulty logic sir, the segregation between mainland and island has been from time immemorial, even from the days of the colonial masters... It's fair enough to do it that way I have been to some good Airports in developed countries and the best suited were those out of the city centres. You have enough space to plan around and get it right. Development will come to meet the airport as long as it is located in Lagos albeit in a "controlled" manner. Lagos is home to more than 20million people you will rake in income anywhere you cite the airport in Lagos axis and Lagos should have about 4 intl airports. Sanwolu cannot even finish the first phase of the airport in 3 years if he begins the project this morning, let alone completing the project. However, I am not right and you are not wrong...what will be will be |

Wawelexy: Ikorodu have enough land capacity for this, but bad road is a major problem here.... Someone mentioned badagry up there, that location will record low patronage due to bad road and far distance to developed area, even tho they also have land mass...
Lekki/Ajah still remains the perfect location when we put generating revenue for the state into consideration.. Proximity to top companies, wealthy people, embassies, 4star hotels is an added advantage, also, it will serve as a representation of tourism and a standard metro transportation system for a mega city like Lagos consisting of rail, water, road and air transportation. Moreover it will be a balance as mainland already had a federal airport at Ikeja. Badagry will be perfect and what you said is the reason why it is best suited for Badagry. Busy Airports creates traffic and causes rapid development. Lekki axis is already busy enough. Far distance to developed area is good, Govt can easily fix the roads. Controlled development will come in handy. However, the airport will be located in Lekki due to the faulty logic of mainland has one the island should have one |
