SmartProf: It's really a sad thing. However, take a look at the demands of health care professionals in Nigeria and how the government has been negligent. In a certain state, the governor suspended the residency training program abruptly just to get at resident doctors who did strike to force home their demands. That governor today is Covid 19 positive, and will be seeking doctors and health professionals services at this time. I sincerely hope things improve from all parties, but until we get our priorities right in Nigeria, we will keep singing these nursery rhymes of pity year in, year out You forgot to add that the same governor's commisioner for health died of covid-19 infection and was buried today. Hopeless country. |

When Nigerians are ready for revolution, they will realize that this country is stinkingly rich and can sort out most of their problems. Just hold the government by their blokos... They will vomit the money. But Nigerians... I pity them. |
Health › Re: FG Releases ₦4.5 Billion To 31 Teaching Hospitals, 9 Billion For Life Insurance by stasius: 9:07am On Jun 20, 2020 |
DuBLINGreenb: Waste of money
Invest in people not buildings those buildings are or will be empty and abandoned bet me
It is the people you invest in that will build and develop the country
The "Teaching hospitals" only increase price of properties in the area making life even more difficult
The hospitals were emptied as doctors stole the properties and equipment and took them to their private clinics
The doctors and health workers are always on strike
Nigerians don't do any sort of insurance let alone life insurance so that 9 billion naira is not justified
Except these hospitals will be 100% free then it's Misplaced priority if you ask me
I suggest we suspend Government clinics for now allow private ones to grow but they must be atleast 80% Nigerian owned if possible subsidise and give loans to medical practitioners to start their hospitals and clinics you would see how the health sector will be greatly improved and instead of giving over 4billion every 2 months Nigeria can instead make that amount in tax and revenue monthly
Nigerian health workers abroad will come back to atleast get a piece of the pie even foreign doctors will want to come and the industry will be lucrative for both the practitioners and the sick people who will have more choices and cheaper options wards will be less crowded and services more efficient.
After this growth government can make incentives for hospitals to offer free child birth as an example or make it mandatory for hospitals to give a certain amount of free treatments every year or month Hospitals will grow like mosques and churches
Government can never cover the length and breadth of Nigeria adequately with hospitals and they shouldn't Your Last statement most especially is trash! Thank you. |
