So Israel is actually the firstborn?
How about
. Colossians 1.15
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature
what do you mean actually mean firstborn, do you mean if God literally gave birth to Isreal, then the answer is no! Isreal the Son of Isaac and his children are called israelities, it is about God choosing Israel first.

Actually, I think the blacks have suffered and survived much more.
God choose Israel for his purpose, and that is to lead the world to christ. God gave Israel his laws which must be followed very rigidly failure to do so attract serious curse, and till today that curse is still following them.

God called Israel his firstborn in verse 22 please read before you answer.

Even if we go by your answer, Israel isn't the first born among men. Many more older brothers before isreal bUT the in the verse God called isreal his firstborn so let's deal with that first
yeap being a firstborn in some instances is not about age but it is really about choice, this is where Jehovah witness miss it, they think Jesus being called first born means he was first created.

God chose Israel first and then through Israel to reach out to every nation, this also meant God dealt more harshly with the firstborn because they suppose to know better. I am not sure you race can survive this, God blessed us too, so we could know him and seek for him.

Please consider these 2 scriptures.
1. Exodus 4.22-23
22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:

23 And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.

2. Colossians 1.15
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Israel is God's firstborn among all the nations of the world while Jesus is God's firstborn over all creatures. Get the difference?
Christianity Etc › Why are The Rules In The Bible Seem so Strigent And Ridgid! by Steep(op):
Yea the rules of the bible seem strigent and difficult because God is super holy and we are super sinful, the Christian God is an extremely holy and perfect God I mean to every letter holy, that even the seraphim cover ther eyes and their feet before his glory.
Our petty righteousness and good works is like poo before him, and he is a God full of Judgment to the letter that nothing can escape him.
But God is also extremely loving that he gave us Jesus so we can have a covering, Jesus took our sinfulness and died on the cross while we receive God's righteousness.

The question is what type of righteousness can withstand God's presence?
The answer is only God's righteousness can, and only the sacrifice of a truly eternal being can provide us that righteousness and only true faith in the eternal righteous being can we have that righteousnes

As a confirmation to this Jesus rose again from the dead after three days so that till today Jesus grave is empty, so that you will have every reason to believe in him.

Imagine appearing before this being in your own righteousness and good works, you will just know at once that you are done already, no question.

The redpill recently has being gaining more ground among the manosphere primarily due to the cancer of feminism in the society, so many men especially young men seek solace in the redpill. The redpill seeks to gain wisdom how life and especially about women treats men and how best men ought to react and do things in other to protect themselves. While it is fine to protect oneself against exploitation but redpill almost only highlight women's fallen nature but do not see the bigger picture.

Romans 3:9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
The Law of God is the mirror men and women can use to see their real self and you know what we have all failed woefully even the best of us.

Both men and women are all under the control of sin and rebellion. The problem is men and women seeks to be independent from God, they want to chart their own way according to what they see as good or bad, yea this is what the serpent told eve that she can be like God knowing what is best for herself.
This is where the quest for independence and self sufficiency comes from, God didn't create us to be independent from him, we are suppose to be dependent on God as our light in knowing what is best for us and we men and women suppose to depend on each other.

The redpill doesn't teach you that you as a man you have problem with God who was suppose to be your head, it only points finger at the woman.

The truth is the problem is with all humans.
1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
But the goodness is that Jesus has come to redeem us, our human nature is rebellious to God but through Jesus we receive a new nature that is obedient to him.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Become a new creature today, accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour and learn to walk in God's way which is peace and righteousness.

Christianity Etc › Re: The Difference Between Hades And The Lake Of Fire by Steep(m): 8:03pm On Jan 19, 2022
Fredrick4:
These two states and places are of suffering and anguish therefore Jesus doesn't like one to end up there.
They were made for those who don't reverence God and those that trample on the precious blood of Jesus Christ and reject him as a propitiation for their transgressions and for this reason , they shall be cast into these places for temporary and permanent torture and torment.

Let's begin by unfolding one by one and Hades first.
1. Temporary Destination

What is hell or hades and where is it located?
• Hell is a temporary spiritual realm, the abode of the dead (Job17:16), the inferno regions located under the earth or in the heart of earth where souls of the wicked, the unsaved are confined for temporary torture with fire. This is found in the story of Lazarus and the rich man who died and was cast into this region and fire caused anguish to his soul. He shouted, "Father Abraham! Take pity on me, and send Lazarus to dip his finger in some water and cool my tongue because I am in great pain in this fire!" (Luke 16:24)
For the state of hell is likened to this, where one is in extreme anguish however cannot see death. This is temporary torture awaiting anyone who dies unsaved, anyone who yields up their ghost out side the grace of God. Souls in hell are being tortured by a spiritual fire, a literal fire cannot harm the souls. It can only burn the flesh which is physical and therefore tangible. Souls in inferno regions or hell are there temporarily waiting for the final judgment and destination.

2. Final Destination
• The Lake Of Fire that is described in Revealation after the Great White Throne Judgement is the final destination of all unsaved souls, the Beast, False Prophet and the Devil himself, shall be cast first after their defeat. (Revelation19:20, 20:10).
The Lake Of Fire is different from hell in that it is the final destination of both hades, death, Satan, Antichrist, and the False Prophet, it burns with sulphur and also called the "Brimstone Fire" or the "Second Death"
"Then the sea gave up it's dead. Death and the world of the dead also gave up the dead they held. And all were judged according to what they had done. Then death and the world of the dead were thrown into the lake of fire. (This is the second death). Whoever didn't have their names written in the book of the living were thrown into the the lake of fire" (Revelation 20:11-15).
The Lake Of Fire will consume every weed that the enmy sawed among the seeds, the adversary himself and death itself and this is the beginning of making things "New" where the principal adversary of our souls and death are permanently terminated what a great ecstacy this is to the saved!

• Summing Up
Hell is real and exists, a soul that dies unsaved in Christ is cast into hell under the earth where it is tortured daily waiting for the final judgment. After the final judgment, the weeds shall be separated from wheat and cast into a perpetual place of forever torment ,a place and state of ultimate anguish without any hope for future salvation thus the end of death and salvation.

Repent and get saved while there is still time, for there is no repentance and forgiveness of those who die unsaved.
Yes indeed, many people do not believe he'll is real part of the reason is that hell, has become a thing of joke, which is a trick by Satan so they don't take it serious.

Ever since the Jesus death and resurrection God has commanded people everywhere to repent and turn to him, this is the message of the gospel

It is fun to return to Nairaland and hear you guys still making up doctrines and apologetics as you go along.
We know that Josiah offered those priests to Yhwh because Josiah was a king devoted to yhwh, he would not be offering them up to Baal or Molech. Further more we also know from Ezekiel 20:25 that yhwh did explicitly ask for human sacrifice.
Ezekiel 20:25 Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live;

Where did God mention human sacrifice?

Now you may try to excuse this. by saying that yhwh only asked for human sacrifice because he was was angry that they did not follow his previous statutes, however I am not interested in the reasons for his demanding their children to be sacrificed. The fact is that whatever the reasons were, he DID give the commands that they should sacrifice their children.
Ape, when did I agree with you that yahweh require human sacrifice?
You yet to answer my question, where did yahweh commanded human sacrifice?

Such a command was so characteristic of him that even when Abram heard it he did not think twice, he did not question, he prepared straight away to go and sacrifice Isaac.

High Places: People have been sacrificing to Yahweh in the High Places from long before the temple was built. Those were altars dedicated to yhwh. You are mixing up Jeroboam and Josiah's era to cause confusion. These were two different time periods, and two totally different regions.
you just demonstrated your stupidity, you think there was only one Jeroboam in the bible.

Jeroboam was the King of Israel which was a totally different kingdom from Judah. At the time of King Jeroboam, the ruler of Judah was Rehoboam. The kingdom of David had split into Israel and Judah.
Josiah was a king of Judah, in the lineage of Rehoboam. His territory had nothing to do with Jeroboam's territory. The priests that he had jurisdiction over and sacrificed would not have been the priests that Jeroboam raised. Josiah had NO access to the high places that Jeroboam made.
Does these below look like altars dedicated to yahweh?

2 Kings 23:12 And the altars that were on the top of the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the LORD, did the king beat down, and brake them down from thence, and cast the dust of them into the brook Kidron.

23:13 And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mount of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had builded for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the abomination of the children of Ammon, did the king defile.

23:14 And he brake in pieces the images, and cut down the groves, and filled their places with the bones of men.

23:15 Moreover the altar that was at Bethel, and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, both that altar and the high place he brake down, and burned the high place, and stamped it small to powder, and burned the grove.

You are wrong at every turn. yet you continue to make things up and indulge your fantasies. Murderers and criminals for priests is only in your imagination. They were considered 'low lifes' does not mean they were criminals. And anyway since Israel and Judah were 2 totally different kingdoms, everything you've said about is WRONG.

And it's that same wrongness, and that characteristic mendacity, that is making your deny the obvious word ritual sacrifice (way yiz bah) and say that it is only a killing.

Oh, and by the way, the priests in Jerusalem were also involved with sacrificing to other gods, not just yhwh. So you can't blame the priests of the high places for having corruption that the Jerusalem priests didn't have.

Ask yourself, why you have such a fondness for mendacity? I want to suggest to you that it has a spiritual source.
Stop dodging answer the questions.

Purpose and meaning can be derived from any position you have affinity to. Even terrorists will tell you they have purpose and meaning. I am an atheist and I have and meaning. There is no one position that holds the exclusive ownership of purpose and meaning.

It means life has no meaning except what we think it is. And since we nothing but mindless interacting atoms and molecules, it is all gibberish at the end of day.

One of the major challenges Istill can't seem to understand is how the bible came about.

If you read through Genesis to Deuteronomy, you'll realise that some of the events were private and no one else was there, and certainly not even a writer.
This books were supposedly written by Moses who was born millennia after.
Moses, the supposed writer even in Deuteronomy 34 wrote about his own death.
The books of Moses were not written by Moses alone. Isreal keep records of their national history, this is done by the scribes which through oral narration.

How also did he know what conversations took place between God and Adam, Between Eve and the serpeant? Between Jacob and the Angel when he wrestled with God, Abraham and Isaac, Isaac and his sons, Jacob and his sons, Etc

In the new testament, how did the writers of the Synoptic gospels (Matthew to John) get the conversations Jesus had alone in their absence? Such as the conversation between him and the Samaritan woman by the well, Jesus and God at Gethsemane, etc.
How did the writer even have the conversations he had with them when none of them was a writer and most of them were illiterates?
concerning the private conversation, these were gotten through oral narration, Adam and Eve would have told their children the story of their life and this would have passed on from generation to generation.

Jesus himself explained the scripture concerning himself to his disciples might have heard Jesus prayer during his passion.

That may be your experience but you should refrain from generalising. I am an atheist and have been one for going to 4 years and I honestly have more peace than when I believed. Has it been all good? No. Has it been all bad? No. The same challenges I had as a believer are still the same ones I have now: how to take care of my family, how to balance my wants and needs, how to relate with people and the environment, etc. Your challenges don't go away because you became a Christian neither will they disappear if you became an atheist.
Yeah challenges doesn't disappear because one is a Christian but being a Christian gives purpose and meaning to life.

PastorAIO:
So the fact that someone else is making human sacrifice makes it okay for you to make them a human sacrifice to your own deity?

Actually, talking of context, you need to know what was going on in Israel at the time of Josiah. There was a power struggle. Previously Yhwh was worshipped in a number of ritual 'High Places'. When the Temple was built there became a power struggle between the Priesthood in Jerusalem and the priesthoods out in the rest of the country. Josiah sought to centralise the worship of yhwh. That is why he ended up killing all the other priests and sacrificing them on the altars. Josiah was a yhwh only adherent so you know that those human sacrifices were made to yhwh.
yes there was a power struggle between the priest ordained by yahweh and those others that were not.
@ bolded where was it written that Josaih offered those priest to yahweh.

1Samuel 9
13As soon as you enter the city you will find him, before he goes up to the high place to eat. For the people will not eat till he comes, since he must bless the sacrifice; afterward those who are invited will eat. Now go up, for you will meet him immediately.” 14So they went up to the city. As they were entering the city, they saw Samuel coming out toward them on his way up to the high place.

Samuel the prophet of yhwh would bless the sacrifices in the High Places. These were sacrifices made to yhwh. Made in High Places.

1Kings 3
4And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, for that was the great high place. Solomon used to offer a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. 5At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said, “Ask what I shall give you.”

Solomon went to sacrifice at the high place in Gibeon and yhwh met him there. So you see yhwh was worshipped in high place very very well and much.
yea my bad, before the house of God was buil, the high places were used for sacrifice, because the house of God was not yet built.

These you quoted were before the house of God was built.

1 Kings 12:31 And he made an house of high places, and made priests of the lowest of the people, which were not of the sons of Levi.

The altar Josiah offered those priest on were altar that Jeroboam hath built.

. Jeroboam set up his own religious worship, with his own priest which were not the levites, only the levites were chosen to be priests but he chose the lowlives, the word lowliest of men means criminals or murders to be his priest.
It was these murders that Josiah killed on the altar, and because the word 'offer' or 'sacrifice'
Because any killing down on an altar is called sacrifice, it doesn't mean it is really a sacrifice but because the execution was done on it.
