You don't have to write both but it will be an advantage to you CRS points wise if you do. If you have a good CRS score with just one of them then go ahead and choose which you'd like to write. foi59: Hi good people. Please I have few questions to ask as intend to now go on this journey. I'll appreciate your advice 1. I speak French language so for the crs do I have to write ielts and TEF? 2. If I don't have write TEF how would it be known that I speak French (as an advantage in the pool) 3. based on the above information, whigh province would you advice? Ottawa, Quebec or just Alberta. This is important to me cos albeit I'd like a French environment, I'm also concerned about cost of living et al cos I'll be going alone with a child. Thanks in advance |

Unless she worked in Canada and claimed points for the job, please move it to personal history and correct it. Itzchord: Please @ all the savvy elders, I have a daunting issue. I am the primary applicant for EE and we just recently got an ITA; however, the problem is that my wife's NOC was mistakenly filled as Admin assistant instead of Admin officer when we entered the pool. Please can I still change it or just go ahead with the assistant thingy? |

If her school in Nigeria is this important to her, let her do a soft landing and go back. Spousal sponsorship is an often laborious process. You won't believe what people have to go through. If you can avoid it then why not? ambo1: Thanks guys for your prompt response, may God continue to bless you guys. I have really gained alot from your contributions. Another question is what if after marriage I do not want her to accompany me immediately because she's still in school, do I have to provide POF for 2 people? Secondly can you guys add me to a group for express entry. Thanks and a happy easter to u guys. |

If I understand correctly, you are the primary applicant and the only thing stopping you from adding your spouse is IELTS? So we are looking at studying for a few weeks for IELTS vs Sponsoring your spouse, waiting for a year or so and hoping for the best? Your spouse would still have to do medicals. You would still have to show POF that includes him/her. What would be your CRS if your spouse scores a minimum of 6666 on all modules? Calculate that before you decide. Good Luck! NB: I'm an advocate for accompanying spouse if it can be helped. I've seen so many "Spouse not interested" posts, especially about husbands ..lol Umunwanyi biko use your power. He will see reason sooner or later. Yhkl: Hello all, Please I need a clarification. I have my ielts result and ECA ready, because of my spouse's age and not wanting to sit for Ielts, we have decided that I go ahead with EE with unaccompanied spouse. My question is can I migrate to Canada with our children if I indicate that my spouse is not accompanying me in my application? Thanks |

Don't worry, we'll come back with our $265,000 to rebuild Nigeria. rentAcock: Quite sad, so many people are excited to flee their motherland to help grow and build up a white man's land. It's just like what my friend used to say, 'immigration is modern day slavery except this time they do not have to forcibly chain able bodied men to slave ships or rape our women, they just make it easier for your youngest and brightest minds to simply emigrate in droves'. Who will build this country if you all leave, have you ever thought of that? You think once you run to Canada you will still have any reason to return home? How about your kids?
Before anyone says I'm ranting because I was denied Visa or whatever PPR thing you guys relish here like a lottery ticket, I also used to think abroad was the be all end all after graduating from university. I also hustled and eventually left Nigeria. I made $265,000 that year working several overtime hours (I have the W-2 and tax return forms to prove it) but I was never really satisfied because this part of me kept feeling like I betrayed my country.
The UN needs to look into countries like Canada that take advantage of the dire situation in Nigeria and prowl on our brightest and youngest minds for the sole purpose of developing their country and replacing their aging workforce. |

It is not misrepresentation. Information in Pre ITA is typically stuff you want to claim points for. For anything you don't claim points for, you put it in Personal history Post ITA. chrisebsy: would'nt it be misrepresentation if one clicks no in work experience for spouse pre ITA and then, add the work experience for spouse in personal history post ITA |

I'm not sure there is anything else to say. If he did NYSC, and it was done in the past 10 years, then he can claim points for it. This is IRCC's rule. Good luck to him FirstTImeUser: Thanks. I am sure he will get a reference.I wish other seniors could give their opinion |

Safely landing in Nigeria? Technically you aren't supposed to send your PR card by mail or have someone bring it to you. If found, it can be confiscated. etrange: Good morning.
Logically, each day you spend outside Canada after landing prolongs your citizenship by a day considering the requirements. However, this shouldn't deter you from doing what you think is the right thing for you at the present time.
You should be more concerned about your PR card safely landing in Nigeria after soft landing. |

You have to have stayed 2 out of the 5 years to maintain your PR Status. For citizenship, 3 of out 5. bigwizzy001: Please I've been meaning to ask. If someone does soft landing and comes back to Nigeria, how long must one stay back here before going back to Canada and won't it slow down one's year of becoming a citizen in the long run? |

She can apply and include you as non-accompanying but mind you spousal sponsorship is a long and sometimes complex process. Your wife would still have to show POF for all three of you. I don't know your situation but if you can apply together and you do a soft landing and go back to continue whatever you're doing and let them stay, that'd be a much better option. adeoladele: I want to confirm if my wife and child can apply first and I letter join them. Please how long does it take for spouse visa? |

Sent you a PM regarding this. ladymarshall: Is there any of you here that moved to Canny from Germany/Denmark (or about to move, having gotten PPR)? Please kindly reply so I can send a pm. I have received conflicting information about the specific PCC required (and the specifics regarding certified translation required), especially Germany because they are not used to dealing with emigration requests for Canada. Also, the official procedure for Danish PCC on CIC website is different from the Danish official website. I am tired of arguing with them and have spent so much for what I think might not be the correct documents. |

IRCC counts 30+ as full time. Anything above that is still seen as "30"/Full time. That is why those who claim part time hours use that formula to calculate what the 30 hour/Full time equivalent would be. So if you worked 60 hours a week for 12 months. You have One year experience, same as someone who worked 30 hours a week for 12 months. majamisile: Boss @Stencil, does this mean that those who claim 40hr/week work hours have more than 1 year work experience even if we have just done 12 months at a particular job? Then I would suggest s/he claims more hours from the recent job experience if she possible. Congratulations to all PPR and ITA clinchers, I hope to catch up to @wesseynewest PPR gist up front :-). |

It can be remarked but chances of your score changing is very low. Think of it as Objective vs Subjective. Objective = Listening and Reading Subjective = Writing and Speaking kentoski: I heard something like Listening and Reading can't be remarked, how true is that? |

NOC 2282 - 6 months NOC 4031 - 12 months NOC 6621 - 13 months NOC 4012 - Sept - Dec 2017 - 2 months full time Jan - April 2018 - 2.6 months full time Sept - Dec 2018 - 2 months full time Jan 2019 - April - 1.3 months full time You need 36 months to claim 3 years. You have a little above 36 months from my calculations. I did this quickly so please crosscheck. I did not check the educational requirements for each NOC. Please make sure you do you can claim these experiences. The formula I used was [No of months x No of hours worked] ÷30 You can use this to calculate yourself. PS: Divide by 12 to give you number of weeks. Teamo2: Paid Industrial training(NOC 2282, 40hrs/wk): 6months, reference letter can easily be gotten.
NYSC(NOC 4031, 40hrs/wk): 11/12months, reference letter not available but plan on writing it myself and notarize it with bank statement to support my claim.
Retail sale supervisor (NOC 6621, 50hrs/wk, paid family business ): 13 months, reference letter available, paid in cash.
Research assistant, (NOC 4012): September 2017 - December 2017 (20hrs/wk) January 2018 - April 2018 (20hrs/wk) September 2018 - December 2018 (20hrs/wk) January 2019 - current (Spring semester)(10hrs/wk)
I believe i should be able to use all this to claim 3yrs of work experience right? |
