IslamRe: Ruling On Gathering To Eat, Offer Condolences And Recite Qur’aan Together... by Sterope(f): 4:28pm On Nov 29, 2019
I am not talking about organising a party or celebrating the dead. The context is different. It is about feeding those who have come to visit.

FYI, I understand your position quite well. I don't agree it is innovation because it doesn't relate to an act of worship. The issue for me is that silly people may decide to pressurise others to act likewise and that should be on them, not Islam.

Rashduct4luv:
Evidence comes before any act of worship in Islam or else we can recite Qur'an in the toilet and then say there is no evidence that forbids that. Giving someone food for hospitality is different from giving food for mourning. In Nigeria, what we do is organise parties and celebrate the dead
So the context of what you attached is not applicable.

Giving food for hospitality is a good deed anytime.

Cooking food to celebrate the dead as is customary is many parts of Nigeria is forbidden.

Allah knows best.
IslamRe: Ruling On Gathering To Eat, Offer Condolences And Recite Qur’aan Together... by Sterope(f):
You are very confused. No one has ever claimed that reciting of the Qur'an nor feeding of guests is an act of worship. It is what they choose to do and it falls in line with praying for the dead and an act of hospitality.

You should try and eat the humble pie instead of trying too hard to sound knowledgeable because you manage to finish a couple of classes or read some books?

Khaleell001:
Like I said, stop trying to sound clever.
Islam is quite clear on how we bury our dead.

The question you should ask is, did people die during the prophet's time?
if so, how. were the dead taken care of?
Was it done by gathering to recite the Qur'ān?
if so, how was the recitation done?

For example, I can't claim performing salaah is good, and start praying 4 units in the dawn prayer because I feel. it is common sense and I feel is good.

The point here is, every act of worship that is specific for certain ocassion has to have an asl (foundation) in the Qur'an and sunnah.

You don't perform an act of worship in Islām except you have been preceeded by the practice of the prophet.

IslamRe: Ruling On Gathering To Eat, Offer Condolences And Recite Qur’aan Together... by Sterope(f): 12:32pm On Nov 29, 2019
It doesnt need to have basis in anything. Sometimes, it is a bit of common sense and humility that most of you lack when it comes to religion.

There is nothing about Quranic recitation on behalf of the dead that is scary. Recitation of the Quran is encouraged. Praying for the dead is good. Why should coming together to pray for a loved one be frowned upon? What specific part of it is against the spirit of Islam or any of the negative characters Islam frowns upon? Is it mandatory?

Khaleell001:
Stop sounding clever because you are not on this issue.
Any actions that is done as an act of worship should have an evidence either from the Qur'ān or sunnah.

Reading Qur'ān in unison in memory of a deceased loved one has no bases in the Shari'ah(Qur'ān and the prophetic tradition).

There is a rule in the Shari'ah which says: " he who asserts should bring a prove for his assertion"

You people who claim is allowed to do so, then show us where the prophet or even is companions whom the Qur'ān instruct us to follow performed such actions.
IslamRe: Ruling On Gathering To Eat, Offer Condolences And Recite Qur’aan Together... by Sterope(f): 12:12pm On Nov 29, 2019
You didn't provide evidence that shows Quran recitation is wrong.

When you did your copy and paste, you forgot to also include the below. I don't often agree with them

Rashduct4luv:
Show us the evidence that validates organising Qur'an recitation and feeding people who came to show condolence.

IslamRe: Ruling On Gathering To Eat, Offer Condolences And Recite Qur’aan Together... by Sterope(f): 11:56am On Nov 29, 2019
Show us evidence in the Qur'an that shows otherwise.

Rashduct4luv:

You have called most women 'dirty and careless' over a situation you have never experienced.

Newnas:
Kindly mention the unresolved problem. I'd be glad to resolve it.

I know s/he's a troll.
IslamRe: Ruling On Gathering To Eat, Offer Condolences And Recite Qur’aan Together... by Sterope(f): 10:24am On Nov 29, 2019
The person you quoted is a troll

However what is your problem with the third sentence. It seemed like you gave an unresolved problem with period.

Newnas:
Your first sentence contradicts your second. Ponder!

Your third sentence shows you are a dirty and careless woman.
IslamRe: Ruling On Gathering To Eat, Offer Condolences And Recite Qur’aan Together... by Sterope(f): 10:22am On Nov 29, 2019
So organising Qur'an recitation and feeding friends and family who come to show condolences are Innovations.

You should as well tell your guests to fast before visiting. It will save those that came from faraway from searching for Bukas.
HealthRe: Doctors Share Their Experiences With Nigerian Patients by Sterope(f): 8:04pm On Nov 28, 2019
Were you not the one hammering on incompetence? Everyone has a story to tell, this year alone, I have got two for you so I don't need a Google research to know all about the incompetence you speak of.

Congratulations! You have just described the attitude of most public servants in Nigeria.

philip0906:
You're asking me for research on incompetence from Nigerian doctors when you could have simply done the research yourself? undecided even a simple google search will help you.

It's not about having a story, it's about the fact that Nigerian doctors think we all should bow and kiss their feet's even though they don't seem to know their jobs.
HealthRe: Doctors Share Their Experiences With Nigerian Patients by Sterope(f): 7:47pm On Nov 28, 2019
What grave incompetence? Where is your research on that incompetence?

You have been acting like everyone hasn't got a story to tell too. Unlike you, many of us also understand that the fault also lies with our government and with us.

philip0906:
My comment was purely for those who can relate to the grave incompetency not those who can't even afford basic healthcare undecided
HealthRe: Doctors Share Their Experiences With Nigerian Patients by Sterope(f): 6:47pm On Nov 28, 2019
Did a Nigerian doctor snatched your one and only true love?

philip0906:
Complete bullocks!

You people think it is everybody in Nigeria that is poor. Some of us can pay for quality healthcare, some of us have comprehensive healthcare packages from our work place...but you know what, we'll pass on that.

The news is littered daily with gross incompetence from Nigerian doctors who have either misdiagnosed or applied wrong treatment regimen in patients leading to deaths and all. Thousands of Nigerians loose their lives yearly to doctors gross incompetence.

The Nigerian doctor is an empty nut head who is more interested in the prestige his Dr tittle accords him/her than getting the job done the right way.

You think your president, lawmakers and wealthy Nigerians who go outside the country for proper healthcare are silly? I won't even go near Nigerian doctors for a simple diagnosis... Incompetent lots

Some of you think the way your father speak to your mothers is ideal. That is why you cannot see anything wrong in that.

I really can't help you.

technuel:
Who the hell told you that is the only discussion they have had in the past. Can't you use your brain and ask how the said security man got her number. Did the Lady spell out that this is the first time they are meeting or the first time she is chatting with him. Or didn't you see where she wrote that she has been tipping him.

On the side of domestic violence, mind you I am only using the girls who wanted to end up with rich Niggas just as example just the same way some girls priority is Cute guys while some prefer funny guys. Life is not like that, what matters is that man who can be your trust worthy better half in Sickness and in wealth, in penury and in affluence. Coming across this kind of people is rare and when you do,don't use class distiction to miss him or her. Thank you.

There are many fair women who also bleach. Igbo, Yoruba or Edo, it is everywhere. It has nothing to do with tribe.

Edyice:
This fool didn't realised that most igbo bae are naturally yellow .. let me not go far , just look at the feet of some Yoruba ladies bread , agbo Jedi , food sellers you will weak for them and losers are feeling funky grin

They should be classified as child abuse.

Are you telling us that in your first approach to a woman, you tell her all about your loniless and desire to spend the night with her?

Do the above expressions convey the concept of 'love' to you?

All the matrimonial cases of Iya Sikira and Iya Modupe seeking divorce because of domestic abuse sound like women who got married to rich men or is this your way of trying damn hard to feel good? Take a look at your neighborhood, you can see for yourself. You have been lied to, the reason for domestic abuse is not because some woman got married to a richer guy.

technuel:
And let me ask you, how long does it take to know someone. That guy won't go that level if she have not known the Lady for a very long time. All I see here is a rejection based on Class nothing more nothing less. If not ehile making emphasis on his profession, while not tell us a certain guy send her this message. One thing women fail to understand is that sometime the rejected stones are sometimes the corner stones in their life. That is why most of them end up in abusive relationship because they want to end up with a rich dude.
RomanceRe: Jennifer Oseh: Security Man Falls In Love With Working Class Lady, She Reacts by Sterope(f): 9:42am On Nov 28, 2019
An admirer that barely knows her, that did not ask for date but proceeded to tell her how he wants to spend the night with her.

Son of Dangote or Dangote himself, it is very distasteful. You don't know this lady to assume she would have acted otherwise. If she had, she wont delude herself to believe it was out of love.

I wonder the kind of homes youse come from.

technuel:
That is boldness, he said it the way it is in his hesrt. It is left for her to say Yes or No. There is no cause for alarm she is not the first person to have an admirer. Will she say the same thing if the Son of Dangote she barely knows makes the same move.

Who knew financial status is a good justification to act like a creep?

pocohantas:
Lots of "broke" guys play victim a lot. They see only one problem- their financial condition. They hardly ever take corrections or agree there is a problem with their approach.

They won't dress well, smell good, behave well...etc. But once you turn them down, they will say it is because they don't have money.

Now look at this young man, look at the perverted message he sent. His colleagues right here are saying "if he was RICH", rather than face the fact that, rich or poor, his approach is distasteful. I avoid men who reason like that. They will wear you out mentally with emotional blackmail and guilt tripping.
RomanceRe: Jennifer Oseh: Security Man Falls In Love With Working Class Lady, She Reacts by Sterope(f): 8:45am On Nov 28, 2019
Did the condition of life frustrate his common sense too? Why should a man she barely knows messages her about how his loneliness and his desire to be with her at night?

Does that sound right to you?

technuel:
This world
Never say never
Never look down on any one
This same security man might be an intelligent man with a caring heart who is ready to make a good husband more than all other admirers and lovers she has. Just maybe the condition of life frustrated him to become a security man. Just maybe in the nearest future that same man will become a Millionaire or even a Billionaire. In this world never say Never. Women learn to look into the future not the present. That a guy roe's not have today does not mean he will not have tomorrow. Stop looking down on potential husbands and tomorrow you will start disturbing God to give you husband.

It is because of people like you our government staff act like they are law unto themselves. You should be happy.

Culture and traditions are dynamic. They evolve as we human evolve, the Osu system is incompatible with 21st century culture.

Your ancestors are DEAD. Tiny beautiful worms are feeding/fee on their rotten carcass. If they were religious, they are probably being tortured for being engaging in harmful and cruel practices against fellow humans.
