Dear student of Arabic Institute of Nigeria, you should know that going to Arabic school does not MEAN SHIT.

I don't need to go to any Madrasah, I haven't seen any hadith's or Quran verses backing your claims. The ones you have quoted are so irrelevant that I wondered if it came from an adult. You haven't helped matters either, you have only succeeded in shouting. So you know, any scholar can come up with anything to drive their bias, it is nothing we haven't seen before. Don't we have scholars that studied in Al Azhar University claiming that hijab is not part of a Muslims woman's dressing. Don't we have people in your institute that would claim that music an dancing aren't big deal. Going to school does not mean you can come up with claims and manipulate the Quran and hafith to make yourself feel good. So when next you want to form ignorant, please know you are not talking to an id.iot.

You can all quit being annoying, biased and ignorant about dreads. There is nothing wrong with dreadlocks. It is as natural as Suku and as presentable as an afro.tongue

Sister don't quote anyone here again if you really want to learn go to Madrasa and stop being ignorant. you can call me if you have the guts I studied in ARABIC INSTITUTE OF NIGERIA and mind you Google is not islam you cannot quote Google as evidence in Islam you can only quote quran, hadith and reputable scholars 07061500120

Which people are telling you something with proofs? If you can read, read the proofs. I can read an understand. It is not my fault if you can't.

Someone talked about how one side of your hair shouldn't be longer than the rest, make you tell me how that applies to dreadlocks? Does it even make any sense to you? Can we all get more stupid than this? Common sense, man. I have seen people growing dreadlocks and I know that what y'all spitting so basically rubbish.

Some would say it a because you any comb it like you can comb bald head, yet you won't say it is unislamic. Do you know how many people that have never or rarely used brush on their hair. Arrant rubbishundecided

One of the dumbest justification I have heard is that it I ecae you have to loosen your hair for ghusl. I bet whoever came up with this one must be one selfish non-black man. Help me ask your sisters if you loosen their plaits every time they observe ghusl.

If you could read, you would have understood the whole process of getting dreadlocks and contrary to stupid biases.,It does not look dirty nor does it look unpresentable to me. If it does to you, clap for yourself and I say good for youundecided

You guys should stop trying to turn personal sentiments into a religious one. You only end up sounding utterly selfish and bias. Don't quote me again please. If you can't read and understand, you should have said so from the beginning instead of disturbing me with your ignorance.

Why don't you do yourself a favour and make effective use of your time on the Internet and Google it....I am waiting.

What nonsenseundecided

I don't have any but there are also no evidence to the contrary

And the ones claiming that is unislamic are merely substituting their personal/society dislike for it.

Deadlock is.not.atachment. it is your own hair it self. It is either left uncombed to tangle and become drelock or styled to be so (with or without attachment. It is stil your hair.

The BS that people say in those days that hair turn into dreadlock because of dirt ad debris is big fat lie. Thanks is because I know people who merely washed their hair but do not comb having dreadlocks. It is tangles if.not loosened with fingers or comb that turn into dreadlocks.

Dada is the Yoruba word for dreadlocks.

A Muslim guy can have dread and look clean and presentable.

Just say you don't like dreadsundecided

balash:
Stop this blind argument my sister, what's all thihe Dada we are talking about is the one from birth which they don't even pour water on it, dreadlocks is different, moreover u can't as a guy have dread and be praying. U gotta comb ur hair and oil them so it looks so clean and presentable. In Islam looking good and clean is part of sunnah, how many deadlocked dude are muslim? U can leave ur hair to any length and comb, u can even plait your hair as a muslim guy. But I can't defend dreadlocks

Islam › Re: Islamic Views On Eating Snakes, Cats And Dogs. by Sterope(f): 1:41pm On Jul 17, 2017
Just because y'all think Dad looks unkempt doesn't mean that it is. It is basically societal bias.

People with dreadlocks wash their hair as frequently as people with normal hair. They oil their hair the same way you oil yours and they brush it they same way we comb our hair.

Dreadlock has nothing to do with barbing hair from birth or not. It is about non-combing or having the type of hair that is prone to tangles. Which means anyone could have dreddlocks and some probably find it easier to develop dreadlocks because of their hair type. Generally, people with curly hair are more prone to it and with the curly community, there are hair types that tangles immediately after combing sef.

Also, dreadlocks is English while Dada is Yoruba.

trigonometry

balash:
Are u seriously reading our posts or not? We are talking of 'Dada' not 'dreadlocks' dreads are done, Dada is a form where hair wasn't barbed from birth, never washed, never combed and kept in whatever shape it comes out making it so unkept and unclean? Is that acceptable in Islam? Uncleanness
Islam › Re: Islamic Views On Eating Snakes, Cats And Dogs. by Sterope(f): 1:25pm On Jul 17, 2017
Yup, if it is still your hair.

Please do not mind that guy, having dreadlocks has nothing to do with length. Hair could be made into.dreadlockd artificially or you could leave your hair uncombed and watch it turn to.dread itself. Also, dreadlock had nothing to do with length. Normally, the natural hair on one side is usually longer or shorter than the hair on the other sides

AhluSunnah, you don't like dreads. Good for.you but you shouldn't be making stories up about it

Dreadlocks equals hair. Dreadlock is uncombed hair. When you add water to dreadlocks, you are adding it to your hair.

Please explain how water wouldn't get to dreadlocks? I am waiting for your explanation. Also, tell us where it is written that dreadlocks is not permissible in Islam?

Abdgafarplenty:
once you urinate without cleansing ur page part, you can't pray, then will u call it an evil thing "to urinate"

once u have dreadlocks, you have left a major obligations to pray. dreadlocks you might have I don't term it evil, but being a Muslim you MUST pray and any act that stops u from not completing that act, be it hairstyle, way of life is not permissible in Islam.

Peace be onto You

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Every animal that has fangs is haraam.” (Reported by Muslim from the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah, may Allaah be pleased with him). I posted that up there and it was clear like the cloud.

You don't like Islam. Good to you.

How is any of my business or other rmuslims in this section? Or are you looking for a box of cupcakes for your lame attempt at popularity?

Mustiboy:
I was born a Muslim. I went to an Islamic school, graduated and even furthered my studies in the Islamic line. I was a devoted Muslim.
But truth be told, Islam, I must say, is full of shit. Yes! I said it. In Islam, it's Haram to touch the hair of people with this dreadlock like hair usually called DADA among the natives. Still, the Allah they believe created this DADA .
How can you tell me not to eat a snake, a cat or whatever?
When I was a Muslim, I did good because of a reward, I believe every Muslim does good because of a reward. Now that I've given up religion, I do good for the sake of good, not expecting anything from Some Allah at the other end.
There are too many rules in Islam and too much laws to abide to. If ChristIans and Muslims are going to end up in the same heaven, then I think it's totally unfair. As a Muslim, you have to do lots of things to get there, but as a Christian, all you have to do is believe in Jesus and live a good life.
Islam, I repeat, is full of shit! Can't believe I wasted 16 years of my life being a Muslim, the thought of that hurts and aggravates me

Islam is one but it is not about Arabs. Don't make such reference please

I don't see anywhere in your authorities where ‘fang' was mentioned. Neither the Quran nor the hadith mentioned fangs.

You are the one making a claim, it is up to you to prove it. What I did was to point out holes in your authorities.

Anyways, God knows best.

balash:
Islam grew more populace in the Arab countries, that's more like why I made the reference, Islam is one and we don't do anything differently except were we find it liable for deliberations, and animals with fangs are all classified under what I wrote up there?

Dogs have fangs so does cats, I don't understand the detailed explanation u still need from that. And please those hadith are the Prophets proof and not mine.

You should argue with evidence also because as you know in Islam we deliberate and argue only with evidence.

You can always counter my claims on there with proof my sister, am just human like u and bound to make mistakes and am ready to learn. Please enlightening us further is not a bad idea

[
quote author=balash post=58412664]Al-Nawawi said:

According to the scholars, the vermin of the earth such as snakes, scorpions, dung beetles, cockroaches, rats etc., are haraam. This is the view of Abu Haneefah, Ahmad and Dawood.

Al-Shaafa’i and his companions quote as evidence for that the aayah,

“and prohibits them as unlawful Al-Khabaa’ith (i.e. all evil and unlawful as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons and foods),”

[al-A’raaf 7:157 – interpretation of the meaning]

These are things which the Arabs find repulsive.
At the bolded, good for Arabs. I don't see how it is good for me as a NON ARAB MUSLIM

And they quote as evidence the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “(There are) five animals, all of which are evil and should be killed in the Haram (sanctuary of Makkah): crows, kites [a kind of bird], scorpions, rats and vicious dogs.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim from the report of ‘Aa’ishah, Hafsah and Ibn ‘Umar). It was narrated from Umm Shurayk that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) commanded the killing of lizards. (Narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim). With regard to the aayah (interpretation of the meaning
I have a lot to say about this but I am going to ignore it

“Say (O Muhammad): ‘I find not in that which has been revealed to me anything forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be Maytah (a dead animal) or blood poured forth (by slaughtering or the like), or the flesh of swine (pork); for that surely, is impure or impious (unlawful) meat (of an animal) which is slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allaah (or has been slaughtered for idols, or on which Allaah’s Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering).” [al-An’aam 6:145]
I still can't find dogs or cats in the provision above. The hadith referred to vicious dogs within the sanctuary of Makkah and never mentioned cats. The Quran has made no reference to dogs or cats. Your submission requires more authoritoes.
