budaatum:Good to hear that! Indiscriminately arresting anyone with laptop shouldn't be the way. Some of us work on many freelance platforms and trade the forex market. Some neighbors can get jealous and start snitching around. My own is EFCC should search the laptop for incriminating evidence first, and only when there's an evidence of fraudulent activity should an arrest be made. All this arresting of people with laptops without tangible evidence and immediately moving to media trial is a crime against the innocent ones! |
Kenneth10110:Exactly my concern. Indiscriminately arresting anyone with laptop. Some of us work on many freelance platforms and trade the forex market. Some neighbors can get jealous and start snitching around. budaatum:Just be sure you and your people don't arrest innocent people who work online. Not everyone with laptop that works from home is a fraudster! |
bulusberry:Provided EFCC is arresting the real fraudster and not innocent internet entrepreneurs, that's fine. My concern is arresting every person with a laptop. |
zibya:I hope so. I definitely hope so because this is Nigeria! |
Grupo:This is really my concern. We're in an internet age. A lot of smart people, myself included, work online from home, selling our skills to the people that need them all over the place the world. Very soon I will be looking to employ someone to assist me since I'm getting plenty requests these days. EFCC must be sure someone has really committed a crime before arresting the person. Owing a laptop and working from home doesn't make one an internet criminal. |
zibya:After damaging the person's image on the media? Will they pay for damages? |
saraki2019:How are we sure that all these guys are into internet fraud. Some of these people may just be normal people doing legitimate online business like your digital skills and other online business. I can't believe that these innocent-looking human beings will just set out to be committing crime. But What do I know. I may just be talking based on my mindset to life — never take what doesn't belong to you. I mean I have been in a situation where be GTB was sending me codes to load airtime and make transfers from an account number that isn't mine (My guess was that Etisalat resold the number to me and the previous user registered the number to his GTB account), but I ignored all it. EFCC must be sure must be sure the people they arrest are real scammers, and not people doing genuine online work like freelancers, bloggers, and forex traders |
It's the job of Ghanaian police to fish out the criminals and prosecute them. It is inherently evil — an exhibition of hatred and jealousy — to loot and destroy legitimate business of innocent individuals for crimes the know nothing about. Those that invaded and looted those shops should be prosecuted as well! |
Good one. Once they are arresting the real criminals, it's a good thing. |
I just hope the people they arrest are real internet fraudster. Not everyone that works from home with laptop and internet connection is an internet fraudster. A lot of people are now into Freelancing, working day and night on several platforms like Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancer, etc. And some neighbors can get jealous. Having a laptop and working from home doesn't equate to being a Yahoo person! I hope EFCC have a criteria for choosing whom they assault! |

Blacksodje:Someone said they saw the Gorilla on camera, but because he's a government Gorilla, Kano people said no problem. He's still in the government house and they still have the camera, so leave them to do what they want. |
Please, who knows about PigMoney? Who's had dealings with them and their partnership program? |
Happy birthday pretty! Wishing you Love, Long life, and Prosperity. Congrats on your new book! |
eddieguru:When you lie down at night but sleep couldn't cross your eyes for up to an hour almost on daily basis. The next morning you must get up and go to work. A work that requires your intellect. You feel groggy, mentally exhausted and have headaches. Yet, you must work. The brain must perform the tasks presented to it even while groans. And it continues on daily basis. With time the muscles get affected, they ache badly. Although you hate sleeping pills, you have no option but to take it. You manage some 4-5 hours that night. The muscles get relieved a bid. But the brain is still under the influence of the drug, feeling foggy and very sluggish. It struggles to perform the tasks presented to it. You are feeling drowsy, you can attempt another nap but even though the drug still kept you drowsy, it's no longer strong enough to tip you over to the dream land. You get up but still can't function well. Yet, everyone expects you to deliver — do your duty well. Nobody ever understands what you're going through even when you tell them. And you can't afford to quit your job. If you can't work, how do earn a living? If you find yourself in this situation for just two weeks, I bet you would want to live no more. Judge no one because you don't know what they're passing through! |
If everyone we meet online is like Mr Ajayi, the online environment would have been paradise. Apart from being legit, he has all the necessary human qualities for relating with customers. For personal reasons, I decided to do it myself with his guidance. When I got confused, he was calling me with his own airtime. That's the quality of someone that values his customer. Mr Ajayi keep up the good work! |
ArmaniUhuru:The boss nko? the real petroleum minister? If the junior minister is incompetent, what about the senior petroleum minister? |
The worst vulnerability comes from Telecom companies reselling old phone numbers. |
Dhavido:Well, I haven't tried it myself. But if you have done that and it worked, it's good then! |
Dhavido:For Airtel numbers, this is useless. just finished speaking with there customer service agent now. There's no way to prevent your simcard from being active if it's put in another phone. they advise that in cases of stolen phone, call the network to have the simcard blocked. Phone-based sim lock is just for that phone and nothing more than that. Please, let's all be careful in this jungle. Peace! |
Nigeria Telecom companies and Nigerian banks make the citizens very vulnerable. if you don'tn't use a line for some time, for any reason, these Telecom companies sell that phone number in another simcard. Meanwhile, that phone number might be linked to the previous owner's bank account. There's this Etisalat phone number I had that GTB was sending banking details of the previous owner. Even sending codes about recharging airtime via phone. They were practically telling me to steal from this account and this is how to do it. Thank God for the person I'm not a criminal and can't take what is not mine despite my financial situation. Imagine someone without discipline was in my shoes? Our system is very vulnerable. Your banks and Telecom providers make us vulnerable. Please, if you no longer use the simcard you linked to your account, go to the bank to disable the SMS on that sim. The Telecom providers would resell that phone number and the new user would be getting your bank SMS. Please, learn to protect yourself in this jungle we find ourselves in. Peace! |
Dhavido:how is it done? |
tactius:Can you remind us what Baba Obasanjo said #West Africa |
Hedonini:No my dear. Medical examination around the time of the incidence can establish if there's a struggle. Assuming she reported in time and was medically examined, if there's a tear in any of the gracilis muscles, that would be an evidence of struggle/forceful penetration. That's what the judge was referring to. |
dia4iam:investing in what exactly? which trusted investment options are out there? Please, what genuine and trusted investment can someone make with 250k for example? |
NonsoWow:some people and inferiority complex eeh. Do you feel threatened by the good work Dave Umahi is doing? You can't cover the moon, you know? |
Dave Umahi is to Ebonyi what Sullevan Chime was to Enugu. In 2017, I did a tour of all state capitals in the south and North Central, my greatest surprises were Abakaliki and Lokoja. Abakaliki was far beyond my expectation while Lokoja was horrible. I don't know how Umahi is getting funds to do what he's doing, but I must say he's doing a great job. Thumbs up for him. |
Mikkyjay17:And the church pays his rent as this thread claims. Don't tell me you didn't read that. Another failed atempt! |
God4memi:And this looks like fact to you abi? In a different post, a supposed fellow pastor claimed to have tried to help. The only fact here is that we don't know what the fact is |
rockstar27:Another hasty and failed atempt at PR How did the church give a "NOT A MEMBER" a house for 'free'? Read the post again. The more the church try to paint a picture to clear their name, the more they're making a fool of themselves. In the other post, one of them said he assigned someone to try to help him while attending a meeting. Which one is the truth? |
lomprico:But RCCG asked us to vote our own. And we stupidly voted for our pastor only for them to take us to next level. which kind thing be this now? |
