, hmmm, well, im actually more surprised that they used to allow anyone with a medical degree from said universities to ever write the exams before now! come and try that here in my country and see how fast you will be rejected!!

then again, maybe they can start sorting the examiners in the UKhuh any ideas?? smh
CultureRe: Ph Carnival Pics; The Saturday Street Parade by stunna2(m): 6:12pm On Dec 21, 2011
thank you very much for sharing, i'm gratified!! i do hoever have a few questions, k

1) why was traffic allowered on a Carnival parade route??

2) why where there so very few people to watch?

the very idea of Carnival from here is to celebrate the human body, so why are people wearing so much clothing?

3) where are the food stands for visitors or where there none? did u try some of the foods or where u too upset about the traffic to participate?

4) was this the 1st time it was held? pls there can be room for more than one carnival so, people pls dont get negative and try to kill it ooo!!

celebrating life and our bodies is good for everyone and again, thanks for posting!

if people are interested, i have dozens of pictures from the biggest such Carnival in all of North America from Toronto from earlier in the summer and can put up a few so that people can see the idea and see if they like it!!

everybody stay blessed and onelove

LOOK AT ALL THE PICTURES AND TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG, ? THE LAWLESS NIGERIANS IN THE PICTURES ARE NOT WEARING ANY CONSTRUCTION HARD HATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

, in a law abiding society, everyone visiting a construction site - never mind the people who work there must wear safety gear and hats r on top of the lists for protection to prevent accidents! wow, i can not even begin to imagine what all those white people think of the black men working and walking side by side with them with no hats on!

you think that you can teach by example - good example; no way, not when it come to these people!! not sure if to laugh or be shocked or whatever! wow!! smh
PoliticsRe: Occupy Lekki: Lekki Toll Gate Protest-update by stunna2(m): 12:58am On Dec 20, 2011
everyone here seems to have some valid points for other to consider and hopefully leading to compromise!

i been hearing boastful residents of this Lekki place, talking about how good they have life and calling us who live overseas slaves and asking that we come down to see their Lavish life styles that we can not ever dream of where ever in the developed world we live and work as slaves, so, why all this cries now over toll cost of N200,000 or N300,000 a year??

okay, not everyone there is rich, agreed - so the cost should be reduced then! why 3 toll booths on the same highway? why did they not build a new private highway and toll that? are the funds for the road really private or just laundered stolen 'the people's money'??

can someone volunteer to tell us, how much taxes they pay on their income in Nigeria, so that we can have an idea when u guys complain! how does the tax system works in nigeria? can we get the stats??

for example, over here, if you make like say half a million naira a month, you should expect to pay about N100,000 in straight payroll tax at the end of the month, then everything you buy, you have to pay another 15% on it in the form of goods and services tax and if you own a home you have to pay some hefty taxes monthly and ur car insurance for say an SUV will be on average N45,100 to N100,000 a month and you must have insurance and then you pay taxes on that insurance and the price of gas for an SUV is like N!0,000 every 3days and u must pay taxes on top of that and taxes on top or ur electricity bill and taxes n taxes and taxes, so that we have a saying here in the developed world that only two things r for sure in this life: taxes and death! life is a bi t c h and then u die!!

but in return for all this taxes, we have it real good and a new baby will cost about N4million to deliver here and it's free because of our taxes and the roads are free and if it is tolled then it has to be a super highway and there are many other options to that road! but if u toll a major highway with no viable alternatives, there will be lawsuits and then wait for the electorates to punish u real soon at the voting booths!

so pls break down how life is so we can have a better idea and then know what to say,

anyways, yall need to start a new occupy but maybe not Lekki, y'all feel me,

the system itself is rotten n thats what needs to be protested, not some isolated issue! if you have two SUVs in one family, be it a small KIA Sorento or a Cadillac Escalade, the brand is not relevant, dont come here and cry over N300,000 in toll money in a whole year!

get rid of the second wife or fourth girlfriend or dont build a third house and maybe you need to move closer to work! when you boast about ur life style and people say a word, y'all cry - bad belle, now everyone is crying over small change??

can a journalist investigate who these private investors r that built the road and see if they r connected to any known dirty politicians??
PoliticsRe: First Eko Atlantic City Skyscraper Is Under Construction. Eko Pearl. Model Pic. by stunna2(m): 6:37pm On Dec 17, 2011
who will fund the building of the new city?? do people buy plots and build or will the place be 'built and hopefully they will come?' pls do not flash names of billionaires and say they will build it< k!

if a bank wants to have its head quarters in a given city, they buy a plot and designed a flagship skyscraper to rival the next bank and surpass it, right? Right!! but only in a true market economy though, whereas in say China, the State takes swaths of Land from villagers and build super strutures on them that they then sell!

so, whats the case with this new city? i am not aware of any instance where private enterprises embarks on the building of an entire new city!

now for people who do not know how a privately constructed apartments that r then sold to the public works, there is what is called the "carrying cost" of such places, aside from the mortgage cost! the carrying cost has to do with the monthly taxes, and the cost of maintaing the common areas, for example if the elevators breaks down or the swimming pool starts leaking, repairs needs to be made and these cost money on top of the original money u spend to buy the place and the older the buildings gets, the more the collective cost to maintain it becomes and we are talking about an entire city here!?

so, tell us how this system is set up and then we can judge wheather or not it will be a viable city considering the cost of the 'constant electricity security and good roads' promised is going to be on the head of the buyers and those who r going to build the place r in it to make money and r not fathers christmas!

now, forget for once those who dismiss the place outright based on the fact that this project is from a different tribe than they belong to, k and respond to my questions as my questions have nothing to do with the tribe of the person building the place, !

what is the background of the people building this city? what is their reputation or lack of reputation?

which banks r behind this? which multi-national companies have shown interest or have prime lands and are starting constructions for their world or regional or national head offices??

IS THE CONCEPT THAT OF "IF U BUILD IT THEY WILL COME??" AGAIN IF YES, THEN WHO ARE THESE PRIVATE ENTITIES DOING THE BUILDING OF A NEW CITY IN AFRICA AND WHO IS FUNDING IT??

THE COST TO LIVE IN SUCH A PLACE IF BORN BY THOSE BUYING INTO IT WILL BE STAGGERING TO SAY THE LEAST, so any insights, all yall wanna just keep on with the Tribal Wars??

a link to the answers to some of my questions will do too!

thanks
PoliticsRe: First Eko Atlantic City Skyscraper Is Under Construction. Eko Pearl. Model Pic. by stunna2(m): 12:12am On Dec 17, 2011
thank u @Gbawe

ive noticed how a lot of the time, nigerians r often inflamed with passion and wants everyone to start singing praises on anything or idea they put forward, rather than, attsempt to respond to critics! lolz

the reality is that some of us here in this forum already live in such place, okay, let me rephrase that - some of us here already own a home in such a place in any one of the advanced societies and we know what we r looking for in a place like you have shown us to be able to part with our precious cash!!  so, when we r a lil skeptical about lagos's ability to meet such high demands, pls dont just dismiss everyone of us!

truth be told, all it may take for mass exodus of security conscious buys or owners out is one grisly murder of someone like us!

i stayed at airport hotel in lagos once and the lights were off 4times before day break and i checked out at 1st lights!

so rather than attacking people who have legitimate reasons to be skeptical, come up with FACTS to alley their fears, k! talk as if u have a good knowledge of how a true market economy works, not just from the classroom but also becos u have participated in one!

our government here have a law that would prevent such a building above from starting construction unless, 75% of the Suites have been sold!! so tell us the information that we r looking for to make an informed decision weather or not to buy into such a place, and believe me, most people purchase places due to the good emotion (or feel good factor) they get about or from the place!

when i buy a place in one of the higher floors and looks down at the city day and night, what emotions will i be feeling based on what's going on in the city??

i want to make sure that the other people buying into it r responsible and can keep up the value of my property, so even if they get a mortgage, is it fraudulently given to them even though they may not have the means to carry such a debt, will this eventually turn into a crisis and bring the prices crashing?? in other words, the pictures i see is of a multi-billion dollar city, so its important that people know where the funding is coming from n this should not be dismissed offhand!

some of us have options , by that i mean i can as well just go to mexico and spend 30 or 50,000dollars to buy a similar unit or go to Cuba and do the same, so i would ask myself: why nigeria, why 500,000 dollars? what r the risks and the advantages? will i get my investment back, can i trust that the system will work and if it does not work as advertised, what will i be able to do??

at this point, those who do not know how such complex systems work r beginning to have an idea and those who already do, already get my point.

so lets get away from the Tribal wars on the one hand and those who say anyone who has concerns is just having bad belle, k people,

i hope this helps to carry the conversation forwards

Well, I thought i was going to be reading about a nice development in lagos and as usual, it turned into a tribal war!! smh

anyways, even if the money was stolen, at lest its not wasting away in London Bank!
i love big dreams, because even if only half of it that does come true, it will still be nice! i wish it was the federal goverment embarking on similar projects with the oil cash for nigerians!

they however need to be careful though as a visit to Dubai will show that their housing sector in now in a bubble, so its a lil scary that these private sector investors are only just starting now in nigeria considering the situation the world over! we need to know if the Lagos state government is in anyway involved by co-signing loans or guaranteeing same loans!

i love big dreams - the bigger the better!
chino guy has his points but reality is that just as in many countries, the super rich will always live side by side with the poor! if general infrastructure development was good, ie everyone has lights and good roads, things would not look so unfair, but im hopeful that things will get better!

If JEG turns out to be the greatest disappointment to nigerians, then it can easily be seen that as someone already pointed out, nigerians r the greatest disappointment to nigeria for electing him; for being so docile and easily manipulated; for accepting the anemic power supply from nepa and the ant bully police force and the socalled eagles!! Again, for being so lazy in mind and body and waiting for God to come down and build the 21century cities and life style they dream of for them! as i've said b4 nigerians are the problem of nigeria as all of the people making up the above mentioned groups are nigerians too!

2nd thought, is that you have to stand out in ur own video, seen and he did not! every body is dressed to be the best and as such, no one stands out!!

good effort, since its not a very serious song, it's just for fun and maybe, his target audience should be considered!
PoliticsRe: 75 Nigerians From Libya Arrive In Maiduguri With Harrowing Tales by stunna2(m): 6:12pm On Dec 11, 2011
, reading some of the posts here on NL can be very depressing but the war that usually follow from the responses is frequently even more depressing!!! WTF

This place reminds me of the early days of the internet in the early 90s and its sad that although the rest of the World have moved beyond those early days, Nigerians as usual are permanently stuck there!

in a modern forum, there would be a more dynamic response to this post above in that some people would be asking how they can be of help to these people who made it back home! one person may challenge Miss KoBo for her view and everybody will return to The Issue At Hand and find a way to be human to fellow nigerians!! But not here on NL and this is Sad!

people, pls know that no one here has monopoly over good or bad emotions or possitive or negative intents! For the last time, everyone who left Nigerian to America is not jobless there; taking business trips to America as a nigerian does not make anyone superior to people who actually live there! it is not always about you - this was about nigerian returnees  one minute and the next minute its about who lives in nigeria and does business in the States and therefor is a superior human being to the people who moved there and are all living off the government there!!

take a break from this place and go hang out say on FB or Twitter and then come back here and it gets really absurd how every topic quickly degenerates into a war between those in nigeria who have convinced themselves that they have superior genes to the nigerians who left!!

There is no Agenda to move anything forward, here, or is there?

HOW VERY SAD! I WANT TO HEAR SOMEONE SAY, OH I'M THROWING A PARTY TONIGHT AND IM GONNA ASK MY FRIENDS TO DONATE A DOLLAR OR TWO AND I PLAN ON FORWARDING THE MONEY RAISED TO THESE PEOPLE!!

instead, every chance is ceased to tell us one more time that the nigerian business man who visits america is more important and a better human being than the nigerian who became american! people pls never mind the BS, we dont need to be reminded every second of how good u have it in ur life! and if anyone in nigeria has any shame and have it too good, they would know that the reason the nigerians coming back from Libya went there in the 1st place is because you have it too good which is why they had it so bad!!

depressing people! shame! put up or shot up people because that's the least u can do at times like this! unless u wanna ask how u can help or talk about ideas on how to help these people, then SHOT THE HELL UP!!

attack me, or 'move the agenda of how we can help' forward, it's ur choice whichever u chose to do!!
FamilyRe: She Has Invested So Much In Me. Now She Want Marriage And I Dont Love Her Anymore. by stunna2(m): 10:13pm On Dec 05, 2011
interesting responses!

@OP, you started dying from the day of ur birth just like the rest of us, k, so need to fear death in and of itself!
so,

1) you let a woman take care of you for 6 years and it's weak men who do that, right?

2) You did not have the guts to tell her you do not love her and wants to leave! fear

3) you sneak behind her to get another woman! conniving

4) you r worried but not worried enough to care what she may do when she finds out and she will! stubborn

5) she want to kill u and u believe it! cowardice

6)anyways, its obvious that its ur character flaws that got ya into the tight rope u just found urself now n ive read all responses so far and can not see how u gonna get out of this without some1 getting hurt!

7) i doubt that this woman wants to spend the rest of her life in a loveless marriage, you take things too seriously! women frequently say they will die if u leave them but since they are generally stronger than us when it comes to love, they will be the 1st to start dating a new man after they say that to u and once you have been through that 2times, u learn to not listen anytime a woman says if u leave me, i will kill u or i will die

but you can not be a prisoner with this woman, unless she was a virgin when u 1st met, you have no moral obligation to marry her if you dont love her anymore! you do not also have any legal obligation to marry her for the things she did for u out of love so u r free to leave, trust me, she will be fine -but it's u i worry about!

at the end of the day, as we say here in America "ALL IS FAIR IN LOVE AS IN WAR"

trust me Mr. just do ur thing, this fine generous lady of urs will be just fine at the end, if she was as kind to u as u said she has been, its gonna be ur loss, because it's better as a man to be with a woman who adore u if u truly want to be happy in this life!

wish u both luck

thank u ogajim,

we as humans r multidimensional in nature so for this beaf guy to insist that people who at times say they are africans are somehow defected is baffling!
just as u have said, i personally can not count how many fello canadians have insisted on going back to visit nigeria with me just i can not count how many times i've told people im african! so this guy who is probably stuck in some back water European country comes here to shout and shout about how we all somehow have some sort or defect in our personality just because we do not take a loudspeaker and shout everywhere we go,

could someone tell that fooooool that americans regularly claim to be canadians overseas when it's wiser of more advantageous to do so??

debating why someone from some suburb of Lagos says he from lagos when asked by people who are not familiar with lagos is same as fretting about people saying im from africa to others who do not know what or where nigeria is,

'nuff said
PoliticsRe: Why Do Nigerians In Diaspora Refer To Nigeria As Africa? by stunna2(m): 6:51pm On Nov 26, 2011
Mr beaf,
you r not obama, and even if you lived a dozen times again, you could never be him so, stop associating urself with him or tryna do so!! you need to spend ur energies in the way it would be productive so that at the end of ur useless life you would not have too many regrets about a mis-spent life!!

i want you to respond to some of the points that i raised and then it would suddenly become ovious that carrying on the conversation on ur part is a none productive activity

1) people will leave nigeria on the day u will die just as they did on the day you were born!

some of those people - asked where they r from, will say africa!! this should show u the futility of ur life if as you have decided to waste it on an irrelevant banter!

2) some very smart people have tried to address the issue raised here and i see that u have not made any logical attempt at all at refuting points they have raised!

3) nigeria is in africa so that means all nigerians r africans but not all africans r nigerians therefor nothing wrong with nigerians claiming to be africans, how mother fucking dumb can u be to not understand this very simple concepthuh can u not set aside ur emotions that beclouds ur capacity o reason or listen to reason for once and be a manhuh a weak man with very strong convictions and strong emotions can be a very disastrous combinations indeed

4) again, people coming from the moon back to earth r frequently referred to as coming back to earth even when they r all americans, what is so hard about this that u can not seehuh

5) you have issues and one can see this on how, its never one thing, its a nebulous problem u believe that every nigerian who ever left nigeria has and there usually is never a solution to such nebulous problems now r there?

there r people with superior intellect to u, and this is a fact of life u gonna have to deal with and some of those r people here on NL, u feel me??

in some of us who can think freely and i hear u talk about ur white friends who ask u why nigerians try to change their accents, knowing there r white people in nigeria who speak Yoruba with flawless nigerian accent - i feel pity for u indeed! lpook at modern China and how they dress and how many of them send their children to the US to learn english, the better they can speak it the prouder people of them, see how amny of they change their names, has any of this acts prevented china from rising to the top of the world nowhuh

i want you to demonstrate that the damage that nigerians who acknowledge that they r africans do more to nigeria than the one the peoples of nigeria in nigeria r not replicating a thousand times over>>>?

You are not the first to go abroad, neither will you be the last. Face the topic or waka!
And I am sure many people will resent your terms NIDs, which is remnicent of AIDS.
NIDS AIDS have nothing in common here and you r only appealing to the base emotions of the uneducated with silly talk like that, because real educated people simply can asses info without being side tracked,
maybe you should remove the car splash you have on ur page and replace it with a made in nigeria one so that people can know or suspect that you r from nigeria?? maybe Blink182 need to drop his stolen American Rock Band name and replace it with a naija one??

My big bros once told me to keep aside my new passport as it was meaningless, ! so, i had a huge laugh a few days ago when my lil bros told me he called big bros and when big bros asked him to tell me to come home in december, he reminded big bros that i cant just come home as i need a Visa and that involves getting invitation letter and all that crap!!

people like you and my big bros and blink 182 still think that this whole travel thing is a joke to some of ushuh but if only you know how wrong you are!! some of us actually have made a well thought out decision about the life we now live, u like it or not and sad for u- there is nothing u can do now or will ever be able to do on the issue of how we refer to africa or nigeria, ! certain things just r so stop getting head pains over our lives!!!

I HAVE REALIZED THAT ANYTIME YOU TRY TO ATTACK US, THERE IS A FUNDAMENTAL FACT OF OUR LIVES THAT U DO NOT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT, AND THAT IS THAT WE ARE NO LONGER WHO WE WERE!

because of the above fact, we interpret ur actions and ur words differently hence you do not get the responses from us that u expect or want and this gets very frustrating for u!

i have dozens of white friends who have spent a few years overseas and those who have traveled a lot and they and their cosmology is very different from those who have never traveled before and i am not aware of anyway to somehow change this their different ways of thinking and then somehow make all of them to see the world and think of it the same way!!

this is what u can not accept with us that is the source of ur childish " u r not the 1st to travel n will not be the last talk" get over it, its our lives and most of us love it and will never substitute it for ur life no matter how right u think u live ur life and how wrong u think the rest of us live our lives just because we either consciously or unconsciously refuse to see nigeria the way u see it!!

IS IT REALLY SO HARD TO SEE AND ACCEPT THAT THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE REALITY TO YOUR REALITY THAT IS AS VALID AS YOURS, REALLYhuh

DO U REALLY BELIEVE THAT UR REALITY- NO MATTER HOW AUTHENTIC IT IS SOMEHOW INVALIDATES OURShuh

MARK MY WORDS, A DAY WILL COME WHEN INSTEAD OF BEING IN A VALLEY WITH BILLIONS N CONVINCED THAT UR SMALL CIRCLE IN THE VALLEY IS THE ONLY, YOU WOULD BE GRANTED THE PRIVILEGE OF RISING FROM THE VALLEY AND SEEING THAT FOR THOSE WHO HAVE B4 U, IT'S IRRELEVANT WHERE U R STUCK IN THE VALLEY!

Why are you so docile and lazy?? why are you having a misspent youth waiting on the government and stressing on how to get money to buy a blackberry for that equally lazy girlfriend of yours??

look, the government has not provided you with an enabling environment is the reason you often give for not starting your own businesses  after years of study in universities all over the land - perhaps, but why are you not out camping out in front of the governments offices all over the country to protest the wicked nigerian government and the rich oppressing you the way your fellow youths the world over are doing right now, today from NY to Damascushuh

why do you go hungry to bed day after day and not raise a voice of protest while ur hope of a job after university slowly fades and u die a lil every day! what does it take, what will it take, to start with a peaceful protest??

if you can not risk protesting on your streets, where will u get the courage it takes to embark on the risk taking that business creations necessarily involve, hur?? wake from ur docile life and act b4 ur god given life is slowly wasted away; when is enough enough for the nigerian youth and he gets up and say no to the 1%??

when y'all gonna join the protest?? you not being asked to start it now, it has been started else where the world over, but when will u join??

Music/RadioPlease Recommend Best Local Radio Stations In Naija For Lastest Naija Music: by stunna2(op): 9:39pm On Nov 04, 2011
I just got this TuneIn Radio app for my iPnone 4S and I can see quite a few Radio Stations from Naija here on my home theater system, so can someone recommend some of the best stations to tune into and what time of day to do so?? Are there some fine DJs that can spin some good shiiit even if their station is not the best - what station and what time to tune in?
Time in Naija is 6 hrs ahead of mine,

Thanks in advance and stay blessed!

(i would prefer stations that play mostly Naija hip-hop, new music and artists, not american songs, and would also prefer if the DJ don't talk too much and give me headaches, Jamaican Passa Passa DJ's can easily do that for me if i need that) lol

I remember the fake accent wars here on NL, it don't matter to me -fake accent or real, i will still enjoy the music, a good DJ is a good DJ!

Currently trying out Cool FM 96.9! It's so far hard to know when they switching from american to naija songs as they are mixing up everything, but will see if I like it!
