Botragelad:
Could you pls explain how the whites are still in control of South Africa?
70% of the land and economy is controlled by White, the rest by the Indian cooolies.

Although black South Africans make up nearly 80% of the economically active population, they hold just 14% of top management jobs.

In comparison, 67% of these top positions are held by white employees - a figure which has declined slightly in the last three years.

White people make up 9% of the economically active population, according to the equity commission.

Indian-South Africans are 2.8% of the economically active population, and hold 9% of the top management jobs.

Houseontherock1:
A government that increased price of PMS by over 300% is finding it difficult to increase salaries! It's just so insensitive to the people's plight. If you earn 100k in naija today, you are extremely poor, even if you Trek to work.
If you increase salary, you will automatically increase inflation and devalue the Naira further.

The solution is to sack most of those useless oil workers, replace them with efficient, skilled professionals and complete the rehabilitation of the local refineries, support the development of more modular refineries and finally link the oil field to the modular refinery.

Tinubu got no good plans for Nigerians...the earlier we understand this, the better for our sanity.
Tinubu has made is the right decision, so far
1. Removing oil subsidies (Oil subsidies are unstainable )
2. Reintroducing one single exchange rate
3. Student loans for university and firm stance on Niger coup.

The issue with Tinubu is his legitimacy and application of policy. Had he won a free and fair election or was the standout winner he would have fewer issues from the opposition?

One of the ways in which can do this is to register our business and company with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
Nigeria will never be a great country

SmartPolician:
Leave the aviation agencies where they are in Abuja.

Decentralise Nigeria; Lagos is already full.

Everything shouldn't be in Lagos.

That's not how to run a sane society.
In the UK, agencies are spread across the country. I see no reason why government agencies are distributed to other cities; the Aviation agencies can be located in Port Harcourt or Kano as long as adequate IT infrastructure supports remote engagement.

TravelRe: Seeking Honest Advice: Considering Relocating Abroad - Need Your Thoughts by sulaak(m): 12:16pm On Jul 27, 2023
Alejo2000:
Hello fellow Nairalanders,

I find myself at a crucial crossroad in life and would greatly appreciate your valuable insights and diverse perspectives. I have worked diligently in a private organization for 15 years, managing to save up to N20 million. Additionally, I own a 3-bedroom apartment. and a few plots of land in three different states in Nigeria.

Current Situation:
Recently, I was disengaged from my job, and this has prompted me to contemplate a major life decision. I am 45 years old, and my wife is 42 years old. Together, we have three children, two of whom are in secondary school.

Contemplating Relocation:

Given the circumstances, I have been seriously considering the possibility of relocating to another country with my family via study route. Two countries have caught my attention: the UK and Canada. I believe that I still have around 15 years of active career working life by the Grace of God, and I am open to exploring new opportunities abroad for the betterment of my family's future.

Reasoning:
The motivation behind this move is to provide my children with a better education and quality of life while also embracing new experiences. However, I am fully aware that this is not without risks, as it would involve utilizing my lifetime savings and making a fresh start in a foreign land.

Seeking Your Advice
:
I humbly seek your honest advice and opinions on this matter. Here are some key points to consider:

Family considerations: How will relocating impact my children's education and overall well-being?

Age and career transition: Is starting anew in a foreign country feasible, considering my age and accounting background as my profession?

Financial stability: Should I be concerned about using my savings for this move? What steps can I take to ensure financial security in a new country?

Visa and immigration: What are the challenges and best practices in obtaining permanent residency in the UK or Canada?

Job opportunities: How promising is the job market for accountants in these countries? Are there viable prospects for career growth?

Investment options: Alternatively, what investment opportunities in Nigeria can provide a stable income stream for my family?

Conclusion:
I am deeply grateful for any advice, personal experiences, or suggestions you can provide. Your valuable insights will play a significant role in shaping this crucial decision for my family's future.

Thank you all for taking the time to read and respond to my post. Your support means a lot to me and will help me make an informed choice.

Warm regards,
Usually, I would suggest that Nigerians over 35 with family should stay put in Nigeria, but in your case, the situation is quite different. You already have a transferrable professional background in accounting. If you complete a professional certification such as ACA, ACCA , or CIMA, you can quickly get a well-paid job in the UK. I will suggest that you start working towards professional certification as you plan to "Japa"

You also have local assets such as land ad a flat that you can fall back on if "Japa" doesn't work.

Nigeria trade unions are useless. How will a country like Nigeria deliver palliative? Better to invest money in roads , agriculture and security that will have an immediate impact on food production.

Christianity EtcRe: Ilorin Cleric Attacks Osun Priestess, Worshippers by sulaak(m): 5:24pm On Jul 22, 2023
vannessa7:
God is almost becoming a four letter word in some people's heart, what is there to defend in idolatory. When the Almighty God (Allah) (SWA) say who is on the Lord's side, Muslims always step forward. All those supporting the idolatory in Ilorin should go and do same in Kano.

Surprisingly the igbos who are christians and are privy to all that happened at Mt. Camel between Elijah and prophets of Baal are the one championing support for idolatory in Yoruba land and it's just one of their divisive tactics, they are so ungodly that it will be easier to find a needle in a haystack than to find an igbo man in heaven, they can't resist hatred and destruction of others no matter how Godly they claim.
Idolatory is the sole reason why the Yoruba race is not at par with the developed world because we are so blessed. Idolatory will enslave the coming generations and destroy them unless they keep worshipping the idols unlike God who is patient and loving even to unbelievers in Him, idols enslave even if the people that worshipped them died 400 years ago, the new generation who are educated and know nothing about idol will now be in bondage, and only Islam can break the stronghold of idol permanently, idols don't have a heaven to take it's worshippers to, they will all end up in hell with their master the devil. Islam cannot tolerate idolatory.
Praying in front of a cross or in front of the Kaaba is idol worshipping. Foreign religions such as Islam and Christianity are the root of all problems in Nigeria.
FamilyRe: 38 Years Old, 40k Salary, 5 Children Living In One Room by sulaak(m): 9:04pm On Jul 20, 2023
ConfusePoint:
Ranting. Ranting. Ranting.

I have decided to rant out my predicaments on this forum today.

What is the way out of poverty for me?

One inlaw is even living with us, making it 8 in number, all in one room.

This thing don come big pass me.

I know most of you here would blame me for impregnating a woman to give birth to that number of children but then, life is life. It happens like that sometimes.

They say a poor man's prayer is "e go better" but instead of things to get better in Nigeria, everyday things get worse.

Truth is, except I drive myself out of this mess to a better life for me and my children, this poverty that is so stricken will likely be extended to my children, which I really don't want.

No two ways about it except ...

But like a car without tyres, can it move even if it has fuel? Definitely no.

For 4 days now, I sleep outside in an abandoned car because of financial war at home. I can't go back home and I even feel like never to go back there but should I abandon them like that and run away? To where?

When I went to the market the other day with 5k to buy food items for the house, I was crying and talking to myself on my way back because I came back with almost nothing.

Nigeria have succeed to plug life out of poor Nigerians. The poor cannot breathe again. Let's die and go.

Advice: never give birth when you are not financially strong. Unfortunately, I've learned my lesson the hard way.

Life happens.

How do I help this family better than I am trying?

Wishing you the best in all you do.
Stop blaming the government because of your stupid decision, 4 children in one room on a N40K salary

The SW has three major developed states in Lagos, Oyo and Ogun state; no other region can boast of that development level regarding industrial, academic and operational infrastructure. Cowards die many times before their death, cowardice and timidity runs in the veins of an average Yoruba man. Why is that Simon Ekpa has not tried sit at home in any S/S state? because he knows the consequence of such an action, but every tribe is making a mockery of Yorubas, because they are weak and spineless. Ekpa is a smart guy, he is only using the proposed sit at home in lagos to test the water, the real agenda is to continue from the destruction they unleashed on lagos in October 2020 under the guise of Endsars.
