PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Leaves Mass Of Throat-slit Corpses Near Nigerian Town - YAHOO NEWS by Swiftboy(m): 10:05am On Mar 21, 2015
Happywoman:
Let dem report it ooo
If u know the number of silent deaths. Unreported massacres that go on in the north. If u have lost som1 precious or u knew some1 who has fallen a victim u will understand more.
Let the world hear it.
boko haram have killed innocents souls. Whole families have been totally wiped out. Ask Baga,Mubi, Ganye,Hong!Damboa,Chibok, yobe, etc
Jonathan lost the love and support of the north, even the northern christans because he abandoned them. He did not follow up on the so called military action until he saw it threatened his second term. Nigerian govt played politics with d lives of its citizens.
I am affected. I had people that died in Borno and my brother in law was killed weeks ago. Lets condemn those doing the killings and stop condemning the government. This terrorist group is the most wicked gang ever. They're part of our society. They all grow in our community. Its always difficult to tackle people that will kill the innocent people un-aware then go into hidding or mix with the society. So its tough to tackle terrorism. Their ideals are dangerous cos they feel its the work of God they're doing. Before we get emotional without thinking,we should stand firm as a sovereign state irrespective of our religion, political orientation and ethnicity to vent our anger at them not Jonathan, not the F.G but them them them. Boko haram caused the killings,we should not divide! We should all show support to the government and our Military. We should criticize less because we dont know what they're passing through. We should pray more and fear less. Its wrong for the APC to have been using this issue as campaign point. To know more about their errors which made me re-trace my decision to vote for them, check out this thread. https://www.nairaland.com/2192450/chronicle-apc-positions-boko-haram#31550741
Am voting Goodluck and by God's grace he'll win the election because changing of government is not what we need but to fully support the one in power to completely crush these devils once and for all! God bless Nigeria.

Chief, is it today that they have been scamming us? is it today that they have been looting our monies? we did not just hear these stories today but it have tey.
spare your stories for the gods
how much were u paid?
so reasoning amount to being bribed? Its not your fault, you've been brainwashed. Just before you think its an abused, been brainwashed means to be conditioned to think along with someone else's ideals without thinking twice...for example if APC said anyone that think GEJ is trying his best, they'll see the person as being bought by PDP. APC have been manipulating people since 1660. grin

Was Obasanjo that was first foisted as the president of Nigeria not a military dictator, is David Mark presiding over Nigeria senate not a military man, are there no pastor among the pdp politicians? Pdp is full of hypocrisy, beside the said Adeyemi is not known by anyone and is just using the political climate to seek attention.
obviously you dont know the meaning of dictatorship. Its not your fault cos you are reading the wrong history written by APC.

All of them are corrupt,so how many ika did you want to cut? Yes to a more secure government funds and strenghten of institution. He exposed subsidy, exposed fertilizer scam,he's succeeded in salary scam, working on contract scam soon to be on nnpc scam and with FOI EFCC-ICPC can do their jobs without constraint.
bidex:
I was hoping to see something that will make sense but this does not make a bit of sense to me. There is an adage in Yoruba that says "ika to ba jale ni abe n ge" that means which ever finger that steals the knife cuts.
Look at Ghana today, how did they curb corruption? they did that by killing all the corrupt elites.
Look at china today, who ever that is in charge of public office found guilty of corruption is sentenced to death by hanging or firing squad.
PoliticsRe: Gmb's System Of Fighting Corruption $ Gej's Which Is Better by Swiftboy(m): 2:36pm On Mar 20, 2015
How else can corruption can be defined than the hypocricy of APC? You have nailed the point in completely. The only way that have been able to corner alot of supporters is through sheer propaganda and escallating problems without them been able to convince objective minds on how they'd tackle the problems of which critical observation present President Goodluck as a better candidate than Buhari in this regard. I blame myself for listening to their noises instead of aligning myself with the FG's programmes.
Wahala90:
Stating the obvious problem of corruption in Nigeria (a problem common with all past administrations, Buhari's inclusive) is not anything to applaud but what you are offering as a solution is what matters. In any sane democratic setting, an unrepentant coupist dictator and murderer with an unforgivable human rights records is not qualified to handle any public office. To even think that these people (Buhari supporters) think they are elites and refined while their opponents are touts make me even more confused.

Prosecute with what constitution? Oh that one that said its ok you can bail yourself with 500k. You are so ignorant! Read your constitution and come back for a better contribution. Again Goodluck has not been in power up to 6 years.
ifydio:
and which institution have Gej built in the past 6yrs?
how can one build an institution that prevents corruption while all involve in the building process are all corrupt...no one prosecuted cases of misappropriation swept under the carpet... corrupt officials being given recognition and striving immensely...to the detriment of the populace

Olodo. How many years did Buhari serve as head of state? And what was the level of corruption before his government was toppled?
he was removed cos there were corrupt people in the military. The suit cases issue comes to mind or ever asked what happened to the loots that was recovered? IBB further said he's aware of Buhari's holier than thou's attitude but he'd prefar to keep quiet. Shikena!

Boss13:
I did not insult you but considered the post to be dumb. Even this comment you just made. You do not assume on the premise of statements. We are in a democracy and in a democracy we are guided by the constitution (the highest law in the country). You cannot arrest people without any iota of suspicion. It is left on the onus of the alleged corrupt person to prove that he did not partake in any corrupt activity. Though, it is assume that corrupt persons are innocent until proven guilty.

From your post, I will presume that many of us do not understand how corruption is being fought. Some based their indices on conviction rate; others on the factors that create incentives for corrupt practices. Me, I will based mine on the leadership tone set above, because that is what drives and encompasses the urge to curb corruption.

Statements made by the President on corruption are not encouraging and hence, I tend to score his administration poor on the fight against corruption.

Aside that, if we take conviction rate as an indices you will find out that the EFCC is doing little or nothing and hence, the perception index is high (internally and externally).

System controls - The president has said he does not intend to lock up people in jail for corruption but to fight corruption with system. On a honest note, I like this approach because there is also considerable cost savings from prosecuting corrupt offenders (this cost includes; logistics, paper filing, court prosecution, lawyers fees, the use of experts and their fees (forensic auditing); and other miscellaneous cost attached for just one conviction). As revealed, it cost the Britons a huge estimate of money to convict Ibori (I have forgotten the actual figure). So this approach saves cost.

However, system controls can be overridden, especially but those who implemented it (for example, minister of finance, CBN, the president himself, other important aides e.t.c). Also, there may be one or more persons, with knowledge of the system, to collude and circumvent the operative effectiveness of the control system. Finally, system controls may fail.

So like I said previously, an effective fight against corruption, which our eminent president, isn't doing includes and is not just limited to system controls as recommended by the president -

- High leadership integrity and commitment on the fight on corruption
- Effective Anti-corruption Act
- Efficient and effective anti-corruption system controls
- Whistle blowing programs and procedures
- Effective law enforcement agencies to act as a deterrent
- Blacklisting and incarcerating corrupt offenders; by maintaining a good comprehensive list of corrupt offenders and circularizing them regularly.

Even with the above, there will still be droplets of corruption, however, the overall perception and actual corrupt practices will reduce drastically because the risk engaging in corruption will be outrageously higher than the benefit.

Now based on the above, can you honestly admit that President Jonathan is fighting corruption? I intentionally left out the bad attributes of corruption in order not to make my response verbose and also note that I did not insult your person.

Another free consultancy.

Have a great day
I agree with your post but you just stated your perception about Goodluck's anti-corruption system. Before you keep misquoting Goodluck like every other APC supporters Goodluck never said corruption is good or everyone should be corrupt. Am glad you mentioned constitution and am glad earlier on, Goodluck has specifically hammer on the constitution's inefficiency in fighting corruption hence his back door tweaking of using technology and it is a valid arguement that a responsible government ought to take the yam from the goat so that he wont have to take blame for other's corrupt practices. Well did you bother to read the constitution on our anti-corruption law? Now how many senator deem it fit to take action for it to be review? And if the law is not strong enough to tackle it the C-in-C that is not a dictator cant use veto power to go against it. Top of the countries with least corruption index are those that have a better system of channeling government's funds like the Swiss and Some Europe countries compared to China that keep fighting and prosecuting etc. In my own opinion we have more roles to play by being anti-corruption as a society first. In China people report corrupt practices straight up cos the government cant go about the street just as you've highlighted in your post. Part of the confab report is the removal of immunity and constitution review,so yes to Goodluck and no to Buhari cos his method of 'killing corruption' sounded like word of mouth to me. He said only corruption free people will be part of his government,my question is what if the people get corrupt along the line? Yes take the yam away first then chase the goat away.

I just finished watching Network news on NTA and I saw a PDP commercial. It started with a video of 'Buhari as a former dictator' to a slogan' A dictator is always a dictator' and finally, vote for Goodluck Jonathan- Always a civilian.
This is just one out of several.

This is so wrong. The rule of thumb states 'Never ever use negative campaign tactics. Instead of opponents to focus on what they've achieved or failed to achieve, they channel their energy to showing us the supposed shortcomings of the other person.
I think we all know who the real culprits of this negative campaigning are, and honestly, they are encouraging poor voters turnout, creating a worse image of themselves, increasing indifference and possible election violence.

In Civilized countries, even the incumbent would have been sued for slander and libel.
Please learn to campaign by showing us your proposed manifestoes and stop telling us Military rule is a bad thing or that someone from another religion shouldn't rule because from all indications, Nigeria had the best years during the military era and besides, who says ours is the superior religion?
You're as biased as you can get for the following facts:
1. APC has been doing the negative propaganda from the get go. Even in America, political candidate do these things so its not a new thing. The crime of APC is that they're never patriotic at all. Here is an evidence to the effect.
https://www.nairaland.com/2192450/chronicle-apc-positions-boko-haram#31550741
2. APC deserve the backlash for being hypocritical in their stand by pointing at how corrupt GEJ is while they themselves are corruption personified.
3. Goodluck dont need to tell you anything else than his transformation agenda which is needed to attract investors and to encourage indigenous enterpreneurs so as to low price of goods and services through competition for markets and employees. Am shocked some Nigerians like you did not bother to find out what GEJ is doing before lining up yourself with APC-Buhari who is yet to tell us how they'll do their magic and 'change' Nigeria to Kuwait in 4years. They dont even want to debate.
4. APC has been doing their hateful campaign via sheer propaganda of lies and noises. That Chatam house stunt is a big shame cos they failed to acknowledge the root causes of the problems at hand and did not give concrete and achievable ways they can solve the problems. Buhari is just playing into our fancy, manipulating the electorate for his selfish political ambition. I rest my case. grin

The problem that we have is the President himself- a President who prides himself on his own weakness and incompetence and whose love of false prophets and strange women knows no bounds and has no end. A President who is as confused and as clueless as the comic character called Chancey Gardner in the celebrated 1970′s Peter Seller’s Hollywood blockbuster titled ”Being There”.
A President who does not understand the meaning of the word ”class” or ”honesty” and who breaks his own word consistently.
A President who has abdicated his responsibilities, destroyed his own political party, divided his own country, alienated his own friends, humiliated his own mentor, abandoned his own people, brought ridicule to his own faith, cowers before his own officials, betrays his own governors, scorns the international community and breaks his solemn oath to protect and defend the Nigerian people.
A President who does not even have the nerve or the guts to call to order any of the numerous Jezebels that control him. He is the problem we have in our country today and until he resigns, is impeached or is voted out of power nothing will change and Nigeria will continue to go from bad to worse. That is what you get when you vote for a man who never wore shoes to school.
May God deliver our country

Still, 2,123 police could not have been stationed. Even at that figure being realistic. The truth is, this is not the first time there has been a robbery of this sort in Lagos and this would not be the last... Fashola's claim is not only shambolic but a waste of time. It is the same ideology the APC has been throwing at the government with regards to the Boko Haram issue. He should stop blaming Jonathan for the robbery but instead, as the Governor of the state, concentrate his effort on pushing men in charge to track and apprehend the culprit and prevent a recurrence of such.
with this I must confess, you'd handle the case better than Fashola.

So on what basis is GEJ promising to simply implement report? Defies logic!!

The 21 billion naira you are referring to, do you know GEJ and PDP broke electoral laws during the fund raising huh And the fund raising was broadcasted live on TV.

My broda leave, Jona is not a good leader. Everyone in his cabinet just doing whatever they want, he can't keep his men in order, since last year people died during immigration exam he remembered them weeks before elections. Boko Haram have been giving Nigerians headache since 2009, he gingered offensive against them weeks before election. undecided

Story plenty my brother.
Are you sure its not because of the willingness of our neighbouring countries to help out?
I watched the APC fund raiser too. They dont need as much as they raised. State governors under APC has been contributing to their candidate's campaign for a while now. All of them are guilty!

my brother dont see Buhari as saint because of this. APC share moneys every week in my area. APC share stuffs too. 3 weeks ago Buhari shared moneys with northern Pastors. They're not sharing as much as Goodluck because they dont have as much resources as him. I say this to show they're all guilty. The shared money may not be from the country's treasury, its likely to be from the 21 billion Naira raised for his campaign. We should prepar our minds as leaders of tomorow to establish a better Federal Character, stamping out this kind of money politics. What am saying in excess is that politics is a dirty game. Vote for your candidate and wish Nigeria all the best. One love.
