Am from the West and alot of us support Goodluck for continuity so wake up and smell the coffin... We Yoruba people are never fooled to believe Asiwaju and co's propaganda against our dynamic President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. grin

The only region supporting Jonathan is the SE/SS. Clueless bunch. undecided

Those supporting Jonathan in the second clip. . . . See so much poverty around them . . . Smh. Yet, they want him to continue.

Thank goodness the other regions are wise and are in support of Buhari.

You sounded like someone thats playing politics with things. Where were you when they've been killing Boko haram since 2012? The results are because other nations have decided to join the fight. Are you not suppose to be happy that at least we can see victory in sight? I wont vote for your old dictator no matter what.

Stop digging our landscape! We dont need to be exploring our ground when we can just transform the country into an economically viable state by simply make things work again and calling in the investors. Leave mineral resources underground if you'll be minni them to export alone.

PoliticsRe: APC Manifesto Spending Plan To Cost N53trn Over Four Years - Business Day by Swiftboy(m): 7:36pm On Feb 06, 2015
PDP plan is better cos its realistic and simple. Develop Nigeria and let investors take the unlimited opportunities. This is more realistic.
ohenhen1:
It is a good plan, but I am only getting half of the puzzle. The article doesn't explain how APC will generate the funds. Are they going to use Lagos state template to increase revenue for the government? The initiatives are good.

1. School lunch for primary school students would create jobs and stimulate the economy. Tax revenue will go up.
2. The social security scheme will stimulate the economy. More tax revenue for the government.
3. 100000 more policemen, would also stimulate the economy, more cash to spend by people.
4. The housing and infrastructure scheme will create a lot of jobs. Will attract foreign investors. This will lead to more revenue for the government.
5. Fixing the refineries, steel plant, revitalizing mining and the textile sector will create jobs and will lead more tax revenue for the government. There are also secondary effects that will be positive for the economy like increased manufacturing of locally made cars. Reduced importation of oil will reduce our demand for the dollar.
6. The economical development zones funding will also stimulate the economy and create jobs. This will lead to more revenue for the government.

It is a good plan, but they need to let voters know how they will completely fund it. The APC plan is better than the PDP plan.

This i can't really ( love the way Buhari pronounces the word really ) explain, i don't expect it to be immediate either.

This can easily be achieved by PPP, Apc states are doing fantastic in this area. I dare say no other state has built more houses than Lagos state, not even the federal government.

There is a lot of work to be done, Apc has never hidden that fact, infact buhari has said so severally.

Seun, this are the type of threads that should be on your front page, it could seem one sided but you can't blame the APC for the pdp not having a manifesto.

Obiagelli:
we are talking state police here and this is inevitable, the federal police will be downsized as the individual state officers grow in numbers.

I am yet to come across immediate pay rise in the Manifesto. I have read about restructuring our military, equipment, welfare and kit.

Like you said, Osun state does this successfully. How you came about 250 naira per child is ridiculous. Even Mr biggs won't charge 250 naira in bulk.
yeah Osun did this by cutting their teachers' salaries. Go to bed already okay?
PoliticsRe: APC Manifesto Spending Plan To Cost N53trn Over Four Years - Business Day by Swiftboy(m): 7:22pm On Feb 06, 2015
Obiagelli:
Apart from these loopholes, the manifesto emphasizes mining and a major source of funding even though i agree it can't be immediate.

Nigeria is loosing 500,000 barrels of crude oil daily, multiply that by $60 then multiply by 200 naira exchange rate.

Come on, of course they won't employ 3 million people to government offices every year, they will create an environment for it. There are at least 8 solid minerals per state in this country. Mining and agriculture will solve this puzzle.
*yearns which mining again? You believe too easily!

How about taking a trip in the trains availlable. I took a night train 1st class from Ilorin and woke up the next day in Minna saving more than 50% of my road transport. Will I ever join you guys to say I dont feel the impact of the government again? The other day I saw a train transporting huge thanks filled with petrol. At another time I saw cars going north with another train. You can be objective cant you?

Economic growth is different from economic development, growth in increase in d gdp i.e on paper, d amount a country is making is divided by the population and dat is economic growth, but if their is high rate of corruption as in d case of naija,d resources gained is not evenly distributed but concentrated in the hands of few individuals.well we can say there is economic growth under Jonathan's administration but economic development is wen the growth recorded is reflected in the lives of the citizens, i.e there is increase in the standard of living which under Jonathan has not bin the case. If wat is on paper can't be reflected on the lives of the citizens due to corruption then that is failure. Yall can argue dat both apc and pdp are corrupt buh y did jona give them so much room to explore their wings, Jonathan should be held accountable for this because there is a saying that 'what is the essence of a govt if there is no accountability' this is y I want change,am not assuring u this won't happen under GMB,if it does den we vote him out in 2019. Its true Nigeria is a member of OIC. Oyedepo started Winner's chapel in the North and its true that they face persecution every now and then. Its understandable that he'll have his own bias hence the support for Goodluck. Whenever such religious crisis occur you expect their elders to caution them but this is not always the case. I dont trust Buhari because he has shown himself to be religious fundamentalist until recently. My problem with APC is that they stand on a moral platform to preach change though they themselves have skeleton in their cupboard hence they're hypocrites. Its not possible for any president to Islamatize the country but I think Goodluck's programmes, projects and policies are better than that of Buhari. As for insecurities, the fight will soon be over! I'll vote Goodluck to continue.

The reality of the Auto concession is that people like me cannot be decieved it was done in the interest of Job creation nor Infrastructure development.

The Govt. is not investing in the said plants so, the infrastructures remains innoson's personal properties, why should we direct a national policy to favor a few individuals?

If Jonathan thinks he is creating employment, we want to know how many workers Innosson has employed so far and their respective positions, the QAQC supervisor there is not a Nigerian, meanwhile as big as shell is, their QaQc Manager is a Nigerian, but ordinary innoson will bring a brown goat to assume the same position, imagine the insult.

Take your CV there and get the jobs first, before coming here to rant, Jonathan is using your head and you don't want to grow sense, mumu!

LastProphet:
May God bless u OP, Oyedepo is not working in the best interest of the masses as usual but I can assure u none of his followers will see anything wrong with his openly compromised stance on the forthcoming election. He openly supports GEJ for monetary gains, and he is also envious of what Osinbajo will achieve for Redeem should he succeed. I have always observed that living faith church and the CAN always go against any pastor that tries to go into politics, they see it as a competition and instead of rallying to the person or silently disapprove, they actively work against the person. Only a blind and daft person will tell me that he dosent know that Osinbajo will be given maximum power by GMB to perform (GMB has always had strong deputies, go and research), so what Oyedepo is championing is a course that will bring down Osinbajo and Adeboye who has little knowledge of anything outside the Bible does not know. He has been convinced to also reject Osinbajo. All of them act on the conviction of some hopelessly false information GEJ has been passing round among pastors - about how OIC (organization of Islamic Countries) is trying to make Nigeria a muslim country and why he is the last hope of christians to ensure that dosent happen. I pity christians in this country
its true that we're a registered member of OIC.You're getting angry at the wrong guys. Its just that Buhari may be a good guy,but you dont know what chased Oyedepo from the north to Ota.Am saying is even the corruption allegation against Goodluck does not make him guilty already. The court of law's the right channel to convict him. I know we're angry, but we should also reason. I stand for one Nigeria.

kekakuz:
lagosians are satisfied with the tinunbu empire so they are not asking question. they have been blinded but the veil of PDP hatred so they are OK with whatever tinunbu /fahola wants for them. no questioning no investigation.

by the way let me take this chance and this space and this opportunity and this time to educate those that are shouting Jonathan is corrupt
what is corruption.
is stealing corruption
can a president fight corruption.
is corruption a crime

corruption is a part of human nature. the tendency not to do the expected. a kind of defiance and an act of being unethical.its totally natural and can be controlled.

is stealing corruption.
well its important to draw the line between crime and corruption. stealing is purely a crime and a graduated form of corruption. corruption is not necessarily punishable but crime is. so if someone steals, let's leave it to the law enforcement agency to do their job.

can a president fight corruption.
everyone in a democratic setting is gilded by law. especially a country like Nigeria that operates a bicameral legislature. so it is left for the constitution to spell out what is punishable or not. if the law state that a director must account for their monthly spending and he refuse or is found to have stolen, you don't need the president to tell EFCC or the police to do their job.
asking a president to fight corruption is like telling him to be a dictator and interfere with the judicial process.then he has the power to accuse anyone and punish. then absolute power will corrupt.

finally how do we fight corruption.
we have seen the Nigerian law makers concern themselves with irrelevant oversight functions where they even ask for bribe in the process. these are supposed law makers that are meant to strengthen the constitution as the only true tool to tackle corruption.
if our laws clearly spells out how the treasury should be managed and it States clear punishments, if the constitution gives every Nigerian the right to question the government on its spendings.if the constitution mandates the governors and chairmen to make public. its monthly spending, then corruption will be fought squarely.

sadly the man that tried to put these things in place and respect the judiciary by organising town Hall meetings and national conference is being accused of leading a corrupt government. not knowing that we are the ones creating a favourable condition for the cultivation of corruption.

instead we are busy asking for some me who will handpick people and punish them at will.forgething that we run a democratic government and must respect the judiciary.
I've found more answers in your wisdom! You're wiser than most people walahi.
PoliticsRe: Achievements Of The Jonathan/Sambo Administration In Pictures by Swiftboy(m): 8:02pm On Feb 04, 2015
Stop being myopic my brother...its only simple and chievable. Importers will be importing machines instead of finished goods. Goodluck's smarter than you my friend! Think about this. Which country can match Nigeria in terms of population? That answer availlability of labour. Why do we need our transport system to be working? Movement of goods, people hence services. Why do we need policies to be in place? Government should make business more profitable and ensure their is regulation and competition. Why do we need power? We need to cut costs for companies. Why do we need to give grants and support to the youths? We need more enterpreneurs. All these things dont come down withing 5years they are long term goals. Nigerians need to be patient. Goodluck may not be the best but his policies are way too superior and realistic than GMB's manifesto. On corruption, its so unfortunate that we're being told the president should be blamed for everything were as we need to wait for the result of the investigation.
jpphilips:
Economic policies are prioritized, it is only a dumb person that says he is creating employment with a policy with no clue how many people will be employed.
Friend we need to start exporting.Am not saying natural resources,am talking heavy industrial products. Let production cost be so cheap, that other countries will start outsourcing goods from Nigeria just like China. We import almost everything. Even toothpick. We export crude oil.I mean who does that? Well incase you dont know, more companies are now here. Thanks to Goodluck. GMB promises a paltry 20k jobs in every state, that wont do. The best is to let private sector to compete with each other for employee, for market and for strenght. This is what will give people employment not government work that'll end up increasing our recurrent expenditure in the long run. It is realizable, even me am researching on what to do to take advantage of the opportunities that abounds. We need to bring him back.
