desgiezd: All na politics. He has to align for business reasons.Oh! SHUT that mouth of yrs tha, Nitwit. Were it even remotely suggesting otherwise, you wud have been singing another song, loudly abi??. There is a reason Nigeria has for d last consecutive 2 years attracted, for d 1st time and by a significantly margin, d LARGEST FDI in Africa; there is a reason why most industries in Nigeria are undertaken some of their largest expansions yet within same period. What does that Mind of yrs think is/are the reason(s) for it?? |
Black Peni5: Useless Nigerian Politicians...I mean all of them.I endorse this... |
. |
awodman: You guys should pls spare Obiagelli...Obviously Sнε doesn't know the role good storage facilities play in agriculture especially in this case where each of the 774 LGA's will host @ least one warehouse... |
seanet02: . Illiteracy, stone age ignorance and astounding folly are your prime problems.lol... Were you d HYPOCRITE i was talking about?? Hehehehehe |

Obiagelli: does this guy know anything about farming? Well I would comment about this in 2yrs time. I don't want to be a spoiler. Why are you almost always exhibiting stark IGNORANCE anytime you type a thought here?? And doing so with Confidence? |
Obiagelli: does this guy know anything about farming? Well I would comment about this in 2yrs time. I don't want to be a spoiler.double |

By d way @take dat, my argument is not that there are no corruption or schemings in d Oil industry. Far from it. I mean I hv consistenly said that in my previous thread. My focus is on d use of d powers of awarding (or revoking) Oil licences to acquire Patronage; and comparing this President and others in d context of 'strong' and 'weak' leadas... |
take dat: My good friend, some of those licenses issued were prospecting licenses(OPL) and others OML not marginal fields farmed out or those operated and divested by IOC's except the case of Atlantic Energy Drilling and NDPC. It is OPL that becomes OML. I am sure you know what it takes to be awarded a prospecting license. The discretionary allocation of those licenses in Nigeria comes in form of patronage(cronies, political associates etc).Okay, then you may be right. I wud probably check the nature of those fields. Like you said, 2 of them (out of 3) may not be marginal fields strictly speaking. I probably thought them to be Marginal fields cos they were relatively small fields that d IOCs divested from (which are what most Marginal fields are- small views operated by indigeneous Cops cos d IOC consider them not to be too economical to them). I may hv been wrong; would check... Howeva, my main points stands: which was that d President had not employed one of d most potent means of galvanishing huge Patronage from very Powerful Interests ie holding of Oil Licencing Rounds for d Big Onshore/SuperBig Offshore fields. Even those 3 relatively small fields (whether they are Marginal fields or OMLs) were not due to a deliberate attempt to conduct an Oil Round in order to share/acquire Patronage, but due to d OIC's divesting from them and d President using his Discretionary Powers to sell same to INDIGENOUS players. Again, those Discretionary Powers are legal; and completely within d Discretion of d President to so use. |
chucky234: Hmmm seem Okupe and Abate had some sleepless nights to make sure that the writer (am sure he was hired) get everything right to avoid the usual controvasies that followed the previous speeches, I pray those clueless preposterous goons called SSA stick with the writer of this speech for subsequent public speeches.lol.. This is yr own PATHETIC way of saying that you agree with d @OP that the Speech was great and well delivered, irn't it @Chuki?? Attaboy ![]() |
take dat: I am definitely sure that you know this is untrue. My frnd, I said 'Offshore/LARGE Onshore' oil fields, not marginal Onshore fields divested by d Big Oil Cops and given to some Indigenous players. I chose my words carefully cos I was aware of those 3 marginal fields.... Huge Offshore/Onshore fields are exactly what previous leadas used to cully PATRONAGE from very powerful peeps like sm of those fighting d President presently. The kind of award that wud SHUT those thieves up and get them to 'cooperate' with him. GEJ has NOT given any of such to anybody, Nor has he revoked any such licence from those giving him lots of political troubles today like 'strong' OBJ did to Theophilus Danjuma. Got it??...... By d way, hope you know that the President by law have those Discretionary Powers you talked about? But then, that and d other things you raised, are not want am was focusing on |
AMACRITY: why cant he make Nigeria conducive so that he can invite other president? See insult! Even the lowest country is inviting him.How old are these KIDS who comment on NL these days....*Lawd* |
berem: You're very correct! Jonathan is yet to have a major achievement in his government. At least something he can be remembered for. Power project was initiated by Obasanjo, the Enugu airport project was started by Yaradua, yet Jonathan is taking the glory. No single major achievement by Jonathan in the past 6 years yet he's interested in a second term? Jonathan is the worst thing to ever happen to Nigeria!Who takes ijiots like yourself and @Agbawaro seriously anymore, my dear Sis... |
Sincere 9gerian: [b]OBJ dealt with the opposition and renegade governors with Iwuruwuru INEC.PRECISELY. This is what I dont get with all these talks of GEJ been 'weak' and people like OBJ been 'strong'. OBJ was 'strong' cos he used all d Bad methods to attain his aims; GEJ is 'weak' cos he, in a sharp break from previous Presidents/Heads of States, took a deliberate decision to do at least CERTAIN things right- he does not bribe and share ghanamustgo bags to National Assembly membas and others like previous Leadas did; he has not given a SINGLE offshore/large Onshore Oil license to any person/group, maybe d most Potent means that previous Presidents have used to convey Huge PATRONAGE; he deliberately allowed generally 'free, fair' elections, even against his own closet associates- we know what other leadas did in this respect; he signed d FOI bill and opened up Govt, something that EVERY previous Presidents since independence have openly refused to do, including OBJ and Yar'adua; he allows people to say or write whatever they wish, allowing people to hurl the most vicious personal insults against d President, including clowns like Elrufai who called d President a 'scum of d earth' in Abuja without anything been done to him unlike when this same Ingrate was chased out of d country for doing less to Yar'adua, etc, etc.... I told someone recently that President Jonathan would be a Transistional President. Most of us today may not appreciate d historic extent of d particular disposition of present President; but history wud take a big note. Nuff said. |
I like your Style joor, Mr President.... Safe Journey, dear Presidor; and bring us our own lengths of clothes when you return |
Was it not dis same Aregbe who rejected and frustrated d FG's Fertilizer programme in his state, just like he did to SURE-P's Employment Scheme, simply for parochial political reasons?? Other Govs, like that of Delta, and many others who participated in d conference, acknowledged General working of d New Fertilizer Scheme; why is Osun State different?? |
But seriously, away from d roforofo fights and side talks, this is a reali HUGE deal in deed. This should be, by far, d LARGEST Investment ever made in this nation history (outside d Oil Sector)- over $9billion; and, that it is actuali been made by an Indigenious Nigerian Cop and its finance/capital outlay overseen by a Cotorie of Banks led by Nigerian Banks, is an Outstanding testament to how far we as individuals Nigerians and Nigerian have come, and perhaps more importantly, how much farther we can go. This should be such a source of pride for EVERY Nigerian, regardless of our present persuasions. Of course, it is more exciting that this is happening in d Refining, Petrochemical and Fertilizer Sectors.... Great stuff |
@Rhinoceros, I SEE you. Viewing thread, abi?? What of that yr other 'donkey' frnd, @Ekoile ati Agbamatatata, na?? ... Na Una go tire ![]() |
Confusionist: Ur hairs alwys stand at attention whenever lagos is mentioned. So this is ya own take over what you just read here?? That's it?...*SMDH* |
agbameta: Ondo produces 800,000 barrels of oil per day and Dangote needs just about half of that to stay in business....LIE ALERT, plz... |
trillville: I thought gej said he will have to remove fuel subsidy completely for any serious investor build a refinery because it will not be profitable. How come dangote is building one now?And who told you that dat Subsidy thing wud not bn removed b4 d completion in 2016? Sidon there dey look, Bros..... Moreova, d MD of this project already made it clear that d Refinery wud sell at international prices (minus Shipping costs of course), Subsidy or no Subsidy... |
zaandrew: You provide some money and ANC HQ was briefly located in Nigeria. Were where the Nigerian solders, or even Nigerian trained ANC solders. It is a good thing that I never diss another African nation cos of a Deep Pan-African Sense, esp if the led on by Shallow minds like yours. But hey, like I adviced you previously: go clean up those History books and read up; you may want to start with d points clearly enumerated in dis speech though. You may also want to ask yourself why Nigeria was regarded as a 'Frontline state' even though it was never geographicali congreous to SA?? |
I am a very hopeless Donkey.
FIXED.. |
God bless GEJ for improving d Investment climate in 9ja. With $9bn Local investments coming in, Nigeria wud continue to lead Africa in FDIs (including LDIs) like it has done for d 1st time in last 2 years; and, by a significant lead too. Kudos GEJ for his Agric Policy, esp d Refined Private sector-led Fertilizer scheme. Of course, God bless Dangote too......... Oya, I don talk. Waiting for d roforofo fights to start ![]() |
Akamu and Stew: First of all I remain yours sincerely, Festus the CorementioCome on SHUT that ya mouth tha, Clown. Can't bliv I didn't 'see' this earlier... |
