As long as that will bring peace to the Plateau its okay. Part of the Fulani's grouse with the Government is non inclusiveness in governance. Hope this gesture will soothe their fears |
but I thought you said you are 'dipolitical'? why are you then taking this matter personal? Excuse me clown ![]() and tell me the many reputable mediums in the UK that should break the news. dont tell me bbc. meanwhile back to the topic. ACN OYO GOVERNORS WIFE NABBED WITH N500 MILLION IN THE UK. discuss that. let the messenger be.
I said I was "apolitical", seem that word sounds strange to you! No one is trying to dignify any corrupt politician and it won't be strange to me when one is "truly" accused of money laundering. What I kick against is base less accusations without substantive evidence to back it up. What rubbished this thread was the alleged arrest of Fayemi which is a bloody lie. Foolishness kills so beware of it! |
Something is happening in the UK and was first picked up by a UK based site, what is your problem with that? I dont know why people always want to drag us into their ignorance. smh
keep on exploring your ignorance by posting disinformation. There are many reputable medium in the UK that would have disseminated this news if it was credible. Since you are accustomed to beer parlour gist and Abe-Igi rumours I will leave you to wallow in your ignorance |
dammytosh: http://247ureports.com/ajimobis-wife-in-london-police-net-for-laundering-n500m-oyo-gov-stands-surety-for-wife/So blogs like Linda Ikeji, Ladun Liadi and this posted one are now credible and reliable news outlet? Blogs in Nigeria are often used to scandalise and blackmail people that is why most names behind these blogs are anonymous |
This story jas now been confirmed my mainstream news source, can ACN apologist go kill themselves already?
Guy you are already killing yourself with so much bitterness and hatred if you must know. Which of the mainstream news source confirmed it? Where is your link to confirm the news? Some of us are apolitical and do not rely on crumbs from politicians neither are we enmeshed in tribal jingoism but you are a compulsive liar who would go to any length in disparaging your perceived enemy by fabricating fictitious stories without any credible means of confirming the authenticity of such news |
Its disheartening when the President has to approve of a commission or panel of inquiry reports indicting public officials or corrupt citizens before the ICPC, EFCC, Attorney General and the Police acts. Empowered agencies charged with the responsibility of investigating and prosecuting accused persons ought to have autonomy over such matters without the President's consent. The otherwise is always the case in Nigeria where selective judgement and preferential treatment are applied because of some certain vested interests thereby leading to political interference |
Kx: The source of Abd's wealth with which he bid and bought one of the discos may be questionable in view of the fact that he was a political office holder no doubt; but investing the money in Nigeria is far better using same to invest in a foreign land. And when will Nigeria ever experience the dawn of justice and accountability if we give political office holders the appeal to loot as long as the loot is reinvested in Nigeria? |
NERC gave a directive that pre paid meters should be given to customers for free but has no means to ascertain if the directive is being adhered to. The billing system introduced by NERC has a lot of flaws irrespective of pre paid or post paid. NERC should take the blame for this since they are the regulatory agency in charge of Power. |
Its clear some people have been enslavened by ACN because of tribal politics. SMFH. may God have mercy on this nation. This story is true, the only thing that is not true is your brain, if you are raising flimsy excuses to it.
What has tribal politics got to do with discerning if a story is true or not? You are a bloody bigoted slowpoke |
onatisi: i am not discussing fayemis case ,i am talking about ajimobis wife ,we have heard so many stories of govs been caught at the airport in uk with huge amounts of cash and nothing happens after all the noise. and pls when responding to post always try to do it in a constructive nd less confrontational manner .thanksWell pardon me if my last post was confrontational. Most people who flawed the Op did so because of the Fayemi's alleged arrest. Its quite obvious that the intent of the Op was an attempt to smear some people or party. I do not intend to exonerate political office holders but when we make allegations of graft against them, it should be factual and not an attempt to slander them. |
onatisi: my guy pls that isnt a valid excuse ,so until bbc tells u something u wont believe it is true.there are so many things that happen at the airport in uk concerning nigerian politicians that bbc wont even bother to report .it is good for uk as long as ajimobi agrees to forfeit the money.matter dieAnd you believe its true because a soft sell magazine or an unknown blog says so? Do you mean something of this magnitude will happen in UK and Nigerian Government won't be in the know of it? And that no reliable news outlet in Nigeria is aware of it? And that a state governor(Fayemi) would be held in the UK for 26 days without no one knowing? And that if it was true, Oyo state PDP wouldn't have raised alarm all this while? Guy, you need to get your thinking cap on. Even if you have your personal dislike for ACN, you shouldn't stoop so low into swallowing any crap hook line and sinker |
As much as I'll want to remain optimistic about this privatisation exercise, I believe that the bidding process wasn't transparent enough. We ought to know how much was PHCN's yearly revenue? how much did the Government expend on building most of these power generation stations being privatised? A lot of areas in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria did electrify their communities by purchasing transformers, electric poles etc which PHCN ought to have supplied for free. Now that PHCN's distribution wing has been privatised, most of these community development efforts becomes that of the privately owned distribution companies. |
Junk journalism |
naijaking1: Mr. Corruption, I hope you enjoy the pictures above.Quit venting at the un appropriate quarters. Gowon has challenged you guys, yet all you do is post some sick pictures. Does the happenings in Jos bring back the millions of Ibos who lost their lives in the civil war? It is acts of stupidity like this that makes them hack down Ibo's . Collective Children of confusion. |
SOH KAH TOA: The minister denied buying crudel at a reduced price and she further stated that it is only the president that has the powers for such, meaning if she did at all it might have been done through a presidential directive( though she wasn't specific if they did ). For the licenses she's has the powers and right to do so. The report only made reference to it as a piece of information, it doesn't indict her in anyway.she awarded 3 licenses between 2010 to 2012 why the erstwhile minister of petroleum awarded 4 licenses btw 2008-2010 but people are not calling for the former's head.. Let's stop the politics and save the soul of our dear nation. No one is trying to exonerate her predecessors. Since she gave licenses for three oil blocs, where is the signature bonus them? According to Ribadu's report, the three licenses she gave out and the other four by either Lukman Or Ajumogobia makes up the missing $183million signature bonus. The trio of Diezani, Luqman and Ajumogobia should be held responsible for the missing money. |
Reminds one of a certain Adedibu in Oyo and a Chris Ubah in Anambra. Both PDP and their infamous role in sacking elected political office holders. |
Even in Police Station, bail is FREE! This is Nigeria and nothing is Free. The blame should be on the regulatory body who gave a directive without having a process of monitoring its compliance. Nigeria is a rogue country, many areas such as mine purchased our transformer, electric poles etc with our money which was supposed to be provided free by PHCN, now that Government has decided to privatise PHCN, those things automatically becomes that of the new owners. Isn't that a rip off itself? |
@bilms, just tell us which side you belong to. Your obsessiveness with anything ACN is appalling. If you wanna make genuine criticism let us know and if you are doing this to score cheap political point for another party, so we should know. |
Guess it was Dame's recommendation. Stupid Olosious fellas. |
Gbawe:I wonder why GEJ has chosen to surround himself with mediocres. The same Reno Omokri was part of those who misled GEJ during his Independence day speech that Transparency International rated Nigeria highly in the fight against corruption, only for the bubble to burst on their lies before they claimed it was gotten from Business Day. If truly Reno got this information from SR site, then Reno is a fool. He and the other useless media team of GEJ are very quick to tell Nigerians that SR is a fabricator of Lies only for them to always rely on SR. For Sahara Reporters to even had an inkling of what transpired in Yola all the way from New York without the presidency knowing speaks volume. |

I mean you must hv seen d Reuters article, just point the areas outThere is no way you can exonerate this Government from this scandal. Though previous Governments were also involved. From the leaked report on Reuters it claimed "Nigerian oil ministers between 2008-2011 handed out seven discretionary licenses but there is $183 million in signature bonuses missing from the deals, the report said. Three of these oil licenses were awarded since Alison-Madueke took up her position in 2010, according to the report". "I have not given any discretionary awards during this administration," Alison-Madueke told Reuters, although she added that the president had the right to do so instead of using bids if he saw fit". Where Is the signature bonuses from the three allocations that GEJ's Government awarded? Missing, according to the report. The report also touched on the illegal award of oil blocs though discretionary but shady. An example is the secret allocations of oil blocs which are against international best practices. "Daily Trust learnt that the secret allocations were done over the past one year, even though government had said the process of awarding oil licences were to be executed publicly through competitive bidding. A newspaper report recently said All Grace Energy is among companies that benefitted from the deals. Records made available to Daily Trust by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) revealed that Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello is the major shareholder of All Grace Energy, which was registered on July 12, 2006 with N30 million share capital. Mrs Obasanjo-Bello has six million shares, followed by other directors/ shareholders: Abe Magnus Ngei (2 million), Mrs Abiri Dorcas (3 million), Dr. Adenikinju Adeola (3 million), Ugbeya Donatus (1 million), Alabi Yekini (1 million) and Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi (1 million). The company was registered “to operate marginal fields for the purpose of producing petroleum, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas etc,” and has filed annual returns only up to 2007, according to CAC records. Apparently reacting to the recent report that oil blocks were awarded illegally, Director of the Department of Petroleum Resources, Mr. Osten Olorunsola, said at a conference in Houston, United States, that the president is empowered by law to make such allocations. This development flies in the face of the Federal Government’s consistent pledges to conduct fresh oil bid round. The last public oil bid was conducted during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s regime. In 2010, for instance, Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke said government was trying to “sort out some issues” surrounding the previous bid rounds before it starts fresh ones. Instead, the government apparently resorted to secret allocation of choice oil blocks to companies belonging to cronies, family members and associates, industry analysts say. A player in the oil industry, who craved for anonymity, told Daily Trust the government’s action would discourage competition among indigenous oil operators and also send wrong signals to international investors. A source at DPR said that the process of awarding the oil blocks to Iyabo actually started during Obasanjo’s administration but “a disagreement between Shell and DPR over the area to farm-out couldn’t be reached until recently when the Malabu oil block deal was sealed between the Federal Government and the multinationals.” Oil block deal conditions not met When our reporter contacted the spokesperson for the DPR, Mrs Belema Osibodu, she did not confirm or deny that Iyabo’s company was given the oil block but said the marginal fields were awarded based on some conditions. She said the conditions included the development/execution of a public private partnership (PPP) model for three pilot projects under the small scale gas utilisation scheme. But when a Daily Trust reporter visited Ubima community in Ikwerre local government area, there was no indication that such project was being executed. The community happens to be the country home of Governor Rotimi Amaechi. The chairman of Ubima community, Elder Daniel Anwuzurike, told Daily Trust that the community has been living without electricity supply for the past three months.Anwuzurike said he was not aware of any power project going on in the Ubima community. ‘Secret oil block deals going on for long’ The controversial oil field is considered under “marginal oil fields” which the Petroleum Act (Amended) 1996 defines as “such field as the President may, from time to time, identify as a marginal field.” The law provides that the holder of an OML can farm out (lease out) any marginal field which lies within the Oil Mining Lease (OML). Reverend David Ugolor, Executive Director, African Network for Environment and Economic Justice (ANEEJ), said this was not the first time such secret allocation of oil blocks was done by a president. “In any case, the development contravenes global best practice of open competitive bidding and as such should be discouraged,” Ugolor said. “Nigerians are also kept in the dark as to how much accrued to the country from the exercise. The unresolved regulatory issues has not allowed potential investors, both local and international, to make huge financial commitment in the sector. Nigeria is losing huge resources from the dwindling investment in the sector and there is also loss of potential revenue from royalties,” |
taharqa: @take dat, u linkd me to an article written by an anonymous writer in a Ghanaian blog during d height of d campaign by various groups/interests against her reappointment as Pet Min.. Come on!Does it matter where the writer comes from? The bone of contention is where those allegations true or not? Why not try to counter those allegations if you really believe in the sincerity of Diezani. Her racket with PPPRA officials was an open secret prior to the Jan fuel subsidy protest. Till date how many of PPPRA officials who gave licenses to import fuel without verifying the claims have been prosecuted? Who is shielding them if not Diezani. who allocated the oil blocs to brief case companies? Wasn't it Diezani. Why are the proceeds from it missing? This report by Ribadu and her attempt to muddle up the report by constituting another committee to synchronise the effort of an eminent committee shows that she is trying to cover up something. |
taharqa: hahaha...i know dese oil people are very 'capable' of tins, but wud u mind sharing d source plz? Or was dis meant to show us dat u are a capable storyteller, perhaps?" One of her major lowlights is the 10% racket she instituted at the Petroleum Product Pricing and Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), where authorization to import gasoline and other petroleum products were conditional on the importer paying $8 per metric ton allocated. An importer allocated 10,000 metric tons, for example would be required to cough out a bribe upfront of $80,000 in cash. No checks are accepted, so there would be no paper trail. The PPPRA and NNPC officials who operated the racketeering scam shared their booty with Allison- Madueke, who received 50%, while the others shared the remaining 50% amongst them". " The almighty Petroleum Minister, Diezani Allison-Madueke, said to be the most powerful minister in the expired cabinet of President Goodluck Jonathan, has been the subject of a probe by the outgone Senate Committee on Petroleum resources on allegations of corruption, fraud, cronyism and abuse of office". The investigation which is expected to be taken over by the 2011 Class of Senators concern allegations that in September 2010, Allison-Madueke illegally assigned prospecting rights on three oil blocs; OML4, OML38, and OML41 to an international oil and gas company, Seven Energy International Ltd, through its Nigerian subsidiary Septa Energy Nigeria Ltd. The contentious oil blocs located in Amukpe, Oben and Sapele, in the Niger Delta boasts of extensive oil and gas reserves with a gross production capability of 30,000 bpd. Nigeria owned 55% stake in the three OMLs held by the NPDC; a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). The remaining 45% stake was held by a consortium comprising Shell, Total and Agip. The Senate launched an investigation after it received oral and written complaints against the deal, valued at billions of Naira, from some aggrieved stakeholders in the industry, who accused Allison-Madueke of discretional allocation of the oil blocs against industry guidelines that such allocations be based on an open competitive bidding process. The lawmakers wanted to ascertain that the divestments followed due diligence and was transparent in accordance with industry best practices, taking into cognizance, the overall national interest. Gbawe: Indeed. With the fuel subsidy scam, for example, it was revealed that many without the capacity, history or expertise to operate in the fuel importation sector gained marketers licence. We then need to find out those who are responsible for screening interested Companies and handing out licence to those who meet what should be very stringent conditions. Well, only the FG and NNPC can issue Marketers licence..Diezani is a thief and all are atrocities wouldn't have been perfected without her boss having an inkling of it. One of her major lowlights is the 10% racket she instituted at the Petroleum Product Pricing and Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), where authorization to import gasoline and other petroleum products were conditional on the importer paying $8 per metric ton allocated. An importer allocated 10,000 metric tons, for example would be required to cough out a bribe upfront of $80,000 in cash. No checks are accepted, so there would be no paper trail. For the past 13 years, the PDP Government have not been able to construct a bridge the stretch of Third mainland. To carry out repairs for a designated period becomes a problem that they had to postpone again |
GEJ and his cohorts are skilled in the art of playing victim and creating imaginary enemies. If the government is not complacent why should it be bothered that a leaked report is aimed at embarrassing it? This Government is close to a military dictatorship because they believe any dissenting voice is either a political adversary or an enemy of the state. |
Billyonaire: I am disappointed in Nihi Ribadu. The FGN set up a committee and appointed him to head it,I am shocked that he has not even submitted the report to the FGN before sending to the press. If he has concluded the findings, the sane thing to do is tender the resolution to the FGN and NOT to the press before the Presidency. It is the job of the Government to release information to the press and not the responsibility of Ribadu, this is criminal espionage, and abuse of state resources with wanton recklessness. I am disappointed beyond words, Ribadu needs to tell us which report is flying around, if its the real deal, then there is punishment for leak of state information without necessary going through the FOI acts after due submission and scrutiny of the government, he must be made to face repercussions. Government knew something was wrong before the community was set up, and Government trusted an opposition political contender and on his credentials to be without bias with the results. Can he do that in China or USA ?How are you so sure it was Ribadu that leaked the report? If truly Ribadu leaked it, it only goes to show that He(Ribadu) feels that all the talk about government trying to make the petroleum industry transparent is all lip service and that the government lacks enough political will to confront the ills in the industry or that a lot of Government officials are involved in these scams who would want to cover it up. |
Since there are all ethnic nationalities in Lagos, shouldn't the FG increase Lagos state allocation? the other 35 state governors whose subjects had migrated to Lagos in the hope of escaping abject poverty in their states of origin should contribute to the coffers of Lagos state so that Fashola can provide alternatives for their people riding Okada. |
Diezani in a sane country ought to be in jail by now, but not in the case with Nigeria. There have been numerous allegation against her, either by indiscretionary allocation of oil wells to her husband's company(Excel Exploration), to her cronies(Seven Energy), The Chris Aire crude oil lifting scam etc. Most of those brief case companies that made away with fuel subsidy monies had ties to her. Its either the rumours that she is romantically linked to GEJ is true or close to the truth. Recently GEJ himself gave out oil bloc to All Grace Energy belonging to Iyabo Obasanjo that was shrouded in secrecy. That is not to exonerate past and present NNPC top officers and former heads of state who have also benefited from these frauds. |
Without being pessimistic, this is more likely an effort in futility. NNPC has always been fraught in corrupt practises but no head of state has done the needed by overhauling it and unbundling it so as to make it competitive. Top government officials are always involved in these deals and they always get away with it. How many NNPC staff has been brought to book for their involvement in the fuel subsidy scam? None. Its still business as usual. |
PointB: 500 hectares of land from Ogun State to Lagos State. Hope this is not another 'Bakassi' in the making.I don't understand why people raise some sort of ridiculous pessimism over a good move. What is 500 hectares which has remained fallow in the land mass of Ogun state? By allocating the land to Lagos does not mean the land ceases to be Ogun. A perfect example is the deal between Sao Tome and Principe and Nigeria. Nigeria which has a more robust oil industry is allowed to run the oil wells in a joint partnership agreement with the host country. Such is the case with Ogun and Lagos, the allocated land remains Ogun while "agos makes use of it and remit tax to Ogun. It is equally beneficial to Ogun as well in terms of food supply. |
