I commend the writer for this incisive and indepth analysis. Opposition parties ought to be an alternative to the ruling one. Nigeria's democracy is plagued with money politics that breeds godfatherism. Though Tinubu is not the reason why Nigeria still remains stagnant after 13 years of Democracy but who can only hope that he yield to this passionate plea. ACN, CPC, APGA, ANPP and LP should all put their houses in order for us to have a genuine democracy or else Nigeria will become a one party state with the Killer Party in absolute control

djustice: It is your likes that get paid to sing praises of politicians on the internet. I'm fighting for the future of my state, and my reward will come in 2015, with the final destruction of the party of termites and cankerworms. Association of Cankerworms of Nigeria - ACN!!!
Just spare me your outrage and if you feel short changed by any government, vent your frustrations on them since you know the way to Bourdillon or Alausa.
Frustrated fella looking for where to channel the bottled up anger of his miserable life. F*ck ACN and the Killer Party.

djustice: As you can see from various court pronouncements since, your position, like that of the ACN brigands, is a fallacy. Yes, Lagosians, having been subjected to years of suffering and smiling under Bola Tinubu's criminal gang, are now firmly in love with the PDP, and can see through all the propaganda being spewed out by the likes of you and the others at Punch, Independent, The Nation, TVC, Radio Continental, LTV and other hired laptops like yourself, Seanet02, Eko-Ile, Gbawe and other shameless cretins telling blatant lies on their behalf.

Lagosians want an end to being arrested in the name of "mega-shitty", just because they want to make an honest living by engaging in petty trade. They want an end to non-performing LGs that cannot perform because the state government has stolen all their federal allocation and is sitting on their means of making IGR through idiotic schemes like LASAA and LAWMA, in direct violation of the 4th Schedule of the Constitution.

Lagosians are fed up of being beasts of burden, carrying a N45b per month tax bill, which Bola Tinubu takes 15% of through his company, Alpha Beta Consulting. The multiple taxes are killing the people and they'd rather live without them, thank you. At leas they can see that in PDP states, people are not dying of over taxation, yet they are performing. Check Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Rivers, Imo, Jigawa and Abuja. Before you spew your "Abuja-is-federal" crap, just check how much they've actually spent there, and the average cost of roads there compared to the rubbish they're doing in Lagos for N2.03b per km!!!

Lagosians are fed up of the Asiwaju Criminal Network, and cannot wait to kick them out at the next general elections. Oju ogun laan lo, ero oja para mo!!! If Tinubu likes, let him dribble and score into our house at Bourdillon, which he's currently sitting in. He wants revolution? He will so get it!!!
This is ridiculous. Didn't know Olisa Metuh is now on Nairaland, so one should desist from having opposing view so as not to be labelled by trolls. Mo gbe idi fun e!

djustice: Without prejudice, PDP won in Alimosho, Ikorodu, Mushin, Epe, Shomolu, Eti-Osa, Badagry, Amuwo-Odofin, Ibeju-Lekki, Suru-Lere, Lagos Island, Ojo, Agege, Ifako-Ijaye and Apapa, never mind Justice Adeyinka's fraudulent announcement.

.
In short PDP won all the Local Government seats in Lagos abi? How are we to know this accusation of yours is true or you were the returning officer for all the councils. The only council where PDP had outright victory during the polls was Obalende- Ikoyi.
You make it seem as if Lagosians are so much in love with PDP

And why is this News?
Politics › Re: 2015 Lagos Guber Election; Jimi Agbaje Acn's Candidate? by takedat(m):
2015 is still a long way to go. Just like saying the hues and cries that trailed GEJ subsidy removal and the protest that followed has diminished GEJ's chance of winning 2015 election. Fashola still got almost three years left to change the fortune of the state, if people are uncomfortable with him now does not mean he can't buy back the goodwill before 2015 election.

Jimi stands a good chance though
Politics › Re: ACN Loses Another Council To PDP by takedat(m): 7:18am On Nov 01, 2012
Sincere 9gerian: My friend you'r the mischievous person here. All have sinned but we must not continue to sin. Since the PDP lead by Jonathan turned a new leave in terms of conducting free and fair elections from 2011 elections, we expect others to do the same. This is more important for ACN that calls itself a progressive party and expecting to govern at the centre. POINT OF CORRECTION: prior to this nullification of local council seat, the tribunals nullified an ACN chairmanship seat. It must be noted that these aspirants had the financial muscle to pursue their case in court, what about other candidates who couldn't. The truth is that, the last local govt election in Lagos was SHAMELESSLY manipulated. Even the result was not released until 3-4days after voting ended. My point is we should condemn evil at all times and evil doers should turn a new leaf
Guy the problem with local government election has nothing to do with GEJ/INEC conducting a transparent election. State controlled electoral commissions are tools in the hand of state governors in influencing the outcome of local government polls. They prefer to have loyal party members in control so that they will have control over their council's allocation.
This cuts across all states and a thousand JEGA cannot fix this problem unless we address the underlining factor which is giving local government council direct access to their allocation without state government interference. To say this is an ACN phenomenon is false, all states are involved in this mess .

Local Government reform is the only solution to this problem
Politics › Re: ACN Loses Another Council To PDP by takedat(m): 6:15am On Nov 01, 2012
Sincere 9gerian: Shame on ACN. At a time when the PDP lead by president Jonathan is making tremendous progress in our electoral system, by guaranteeing FREE and FAIR elections, the ACN and Tinubu, the so called progressive party are hell bent on taking us backwards to the era of electoral manipulation of the 60's. Unfortunately, the so called advocates of good governance on NL sees nothing wrong with electoral manipulation. Personally, i see electoral manipulation as the GREATEST injustice/wrong doing that could occur in a democracy, because on TRUELY elected leaders can serve the people. The weight of electoral manipulation can only be appreciated when we remind ourselves that electoral manipulation was the GREATEST contributor to the premature collapse of 1st and 2nd republic. Indeed what ACN did at the last Lagos local elections was SHAMEFUL, DISASTROUS, REPULSIVE, SATANIC, WICKED and REPUGNANT.
You wrote these Epistles because a party lost a councillorship election. The 4th Republic has witnessed more electoral fraud than the 1st and 2nd republic combined. Need I remind you that it was PDP that raised the bar in electoral malpractice.
You must be the joke of the century by thinking local government elections are conducted fairly across all states. Kindly give an example in this current dispensation of any PDP controlled state where opposition parties were able to capture local government seat.
We all need to say no to rigging but to single out one party or state clearly shows you are being mischievous.
Politics › Re: ACN Loses Another Council To PDP by takedat(m):
Exactly.

The same way INEC can be influenced by the PDP led FG..
Guess the hope left is either allowing independent candidates only to vie for local Government chairmanship and councillorship elections or the Judiciary as the last resort. Kudos to Lagos State Government for giving a relatively state controlled judiciary autonomy to adjudicate on cases without interference. Most state Governments would have exerted pressure on their judiciary to give judgement that favours their party.
Politics › Re: ACN Loses Another Council To PDP by takedat(m):
Government needs to take over conduct of local Government elections from state controlled electoral bodies. All local Government elections in Nigeria are always rigged in favour of the ruling Party in those states.

By the way this is a councillorship seat.

A subtle attempt of Diezani by grandstanding proves abortive. Next time when trying to put up a show or charade make sure you choose people that can be manipulated.
There is a grand attempt at covering up any probe in the Petroleum industry. Just of recent was the House of Rep/ Lawan/ Otedola saga after what had initially appeared to be a good job done by the House committee. Now is a divided house between Ribadu and some other committee members over accusations of high handedness and a leaked report already disowned by these members.

This looks more of a cover up

Beefing our leaders for going abroad for medical trips where as ur baised website is hosted in New York! Arrant nonsense!
What has Sahara Reporters website And where it is hosted got to do with Public office holders travelling overseas for health reasons when the existing facilities in Nigeria are in a state of comatose. We should learn to separate a private entity doing its reportage business from Public office holders who are nto living up to their responsibilities

Politics › Re: Rumour Of My Arrest Spread By Dirty Politicians – Wife Of Oyo Gov Ajimobi by takedat(m): 6:32am On Oct 31, 2012
What has Nigeria turned into? Nigerian politicians are corrupt irrespective of the political party they represent. This woman's case looks more like a smear campaign, so many details do not tally up with reports from NEWSLEAK and . One claimed she was arrested two weeks ago but the said woman left Nigeria on Sunday. NEWSLEAK reported that she had 500million on her, wrote £400000. NEWSLEAK said Gov Fayemi was held for 26 days in UK which is absolute falsehood.
Is it that its only that has the clout to confirm the veracity of this news from Met Police and other mainstream media in Nigeria could not do so? Daily Mail UK which has a penchant of circulating misdemeanours Of Nigerian did not do so? Did London Met Police receive bribe for her name not to be on their data and no formal statement made regarding her arrest? Has the EFCC confirmed this story to be true? Would the PDP led Government not have raised alarm knowing that this alleged arrest happened two weeks ago and considering the fact that she is the wife of an opposition governor? Would she have the gut to deny her arrest if truly she was arrested knowing that the Met Police is not like Nigerian Police that will cover up for her?

goinggreat: there is absolutely no need for all the controversy and abuse.the issue is straightforward.mrs ajimobi has a website, a twitter/facebook account and a phone at least.all she has to do is to communicate using any of these.she normally appears on because TV.all she has to do is appear on air.she can call in 4rm anywhere in the world or appear on skype etc. suing after 4pm when the courts must have closed is not enough to refute the allegations.
And who told you they approached the court after 4pm .The news was out before 2pm so there was ample time for them to press charges.
This Day newspaper claimed it spoke with Mrs Ajimobi together with other news men on phone.

Its a shame that Nigerian youths find it difficult to discern if a news is authentic or fictitious. Imagine a PM NEWS claiming to have spoken with Met without disclosing which official of Met they spoke with to confirm the veracity of the news. Its funny that people take the London Met to be Nigerian police who would make arrest without issuing a statement and without documentation. PM NEWS hung itself after they claimed that "London Met Police has not issued any
statement about her alleged arrest. And her name drew blank in a search of the Met Police website by P.M.NEWS.
The unconfirmed reports claimed that
Governor Abiola Ajimobi has had to fly
to the UK to get her bailed".

Nigerians are the most confused set of humans. UK is unlike Nigeria were such news like this are kept from public knowledge. Its quite easy to access the web of London Met Police to confirm if this allegation is true or false.
There is no news of such on www. met.police.uk
Politics › Re: Ajimobi’s Wife Arrested In The UK For Money Laundering by takedat(m): 4:56pm On Oct 30, 2012
So the London Met Police is now Pro ACN for them to make arrest of a high profile Nigerian without making any formal statement regarding the arrest and with no documentation on its website for an arrest that happened 2 weeks ago? Didn't the Met Police release statements when Alams and Ibori were accused of a similar crime or the Met Police are Anti PDP. This report is unverifiable as at now
Politics › Re: Ajimobi’s Wife Arrested In The UK For Money Laundering by takedat(m):
I didn't know that the Met Police is now like the Nigerian Police where arrests are not documented or the London Met police are sympathisers of ACN and haters of PDP by outing Ibori and Alams while covering up for Ajimobi's wife.

The source itself stated that "London Met Police has not issued any statement about her alleged arrest. And her name drew blank in a search of the Met Police website by P.M.NEWS".

Well not holding brief for any corrupt persons, if found culpable she should be dealt with but as at now its more of unconfirmed report by PM News itself.
