james1: They have a right to appeal, yes.when they know they did not win.Whether he was rigged in or not, he has the right to exhaust all judicial apparatus by appealing the judgement of the tribunal. |
taharqa: Just at of interest, want do you want the President to do? Plz list them.... Do you know that most of d recommendatns of dis committee are in the PIB bill that has been sitting tight in d national assembly for more 3 months? Were we not all (including myself i must confess) making a lot of noise and almost swearing down on d President's head to send dis bill to the national assembly? While the sudden SILENCE from us now dat the bill has bn sent to d national assembly and they hv only 'introducd' (1st reading) even when they promisd 'acceleratd' hearing? Why do we as Nigerians seem content at making a lot of noise and pointing our fingers at odas while we chicken out when d real solutions are to be made?... Just wondering??The PIB is an executive bill, eventhough the NA seem to be stalling, shouldn't the executive lobby for its passage? If it was budget appropriation nobody will remind the executive to lobby for an accelerated hearing and quick passage. |
omowolewa: PIB!The PIB alone won't solve this mess. The most important thing is for the President to muster enough political will to deal with these crises. All the past and present government have benefited from the rot. Let's see if GEJ can deny himself the slush fund that NNPC remits to the presidency. Just as Ribadu told him that the ball is now in his court |
PM news again, stop feeding your day with news from publicity seeking publications...I hope you didn't forget Ajimobi saga
I only posted what I saw, its left for the minister to challenge their publication if what was published against her is a lie. |
Remii: if he did not attend the meeting and he queried the modus operandi of the committee, he came in when critical actions about to be taken, this means there may be more moles in the committee who were working for him and for the same purpose, somebody who attended the committee meetings must be feeding back to him.The first committee member who came out to discredit the report was a certain George Ikoli, a former Attorney General in Bayelsa state. Coincidentally that is where both GEJ and Diezani comes from. Bernard Otti has been in the system ie NNPC for a long time and he is definitely part of the rot. These two together with Orosanye were "planted" in the committee |
iwanchop: Check dis out Orosanye nd Oti were both appointed Chairman NNPC nd Director of Finance after d Ribadu committe was constituted, were they nt suppose to resign as members of d committee? They were both fighting for their pockets...i leant Orosanye did not attend d commitee s meetings,so what was he talking about? You are right. According to Ribadu, the only time Orosanye took part in the assignment was when he came to serve as front for a company. Ribadu said: He (Oronsaye) was not at the inauguration and he never participated in the deliberations of the committee. The only time he came was when we wanted to start deliberations on recovery and he came on behalf of one company, Addax Petroleum, which is owing $1.5 billion. "That was the only time he came. In fact, he scuttled the payment of the $1.5 billion. The next thing, he was appointed into the board of NNPC, in addition to being a board member of CBN." www.thisdaylive.com/articles/discordant-tune-ribadu-oronsaye-scuttled-payment-of-1-5bn-to-govt/129524/ |
Gbawe: Why are you crafting this elaborate Nollywood drama around something that is very simple given the history of Nigeria and corruption? There is always a 'spoiler' thrown into the mix to taint and undermine processes while diverting attention from original target. Simple as that. The former EFCC Chairman also noted that the disagreement of the two men with the report which indicted the Minister of Petroleum Resources may have been influenced by their new appointments. Ribadu noted that Oronsaye got himself appointed as a member of the board of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation in the course of the work of the Task Force, while Oti was appointed into a managerial position in the Corporation .mobi/output.php?id=2951 |
How come Steve Orosanyi is on the Board of CBN and NNPC at the same time? How come the president /minister allowed him to continue with the committee even when he had started that his schedule was tight? Is it that they(Government) couldn't find someone else to replace him? Why was he appointed to the board of an organisation he happened to be investigating? |
taharqa: Guy, Propaganda is now been used by virtually every interest in Nigeria now, it is very unfortunate but it is the truth and that's way I dont just believe any 'news' or 'opinions' from a Nigerian 'source' or about Nigeria except I put it to some form of verification. To make it look like it is only PDP is deceitful plz; ACN itself is unparalleled in the use of such (one of the reasons why am presently getting cold towards them). What a few of us need to do is to continue to hold every body (interest) to their own information and insist that the right info been stay in the public place. We may also hope that people would quit been lazy and check-out info themselves. While I fully subscribe to the first part of your post. Personally I feel nothing for or against Buhari, but the way people have come out to condemn him on this Boko Haram issue is what am against. I know that some western countries are aiding Nigeria to find a lasting solution to this BH insurgency. Enough intelligence gathering and security checks would have been carried out to know who are the real sponsors of this group. It is a mark of failure on GEJ if by now he does not know who the real sponsors are unless if he is trying to cover up for some people, most especially his party members. |
thelastPope: What a weak attempt at distraction! Very very weak!Isn't that the plan of PDP? To get Nigerians distracted from their 13 years of inefficiency. Unlike you I still hope for the best for GEJ but he should shame his critics by naming the sponsors of BH in PDP |
The day before yesterday it was an orchestrated attempt at smearing the wife of an ACN governor by PDP through a Faceless Blogger. Yesterday was for a Faceless Caller claiming to be BH and naming Buhari as their mediator cos PDP wants to slander him. God will surely expose their satanic plot |
International Monetary Fund (IMF), yesterday disclosed that 80 per cent of petroleum products consumed in Benin Republic are smuggled from Nigeria
So government should remove subsidy abi? All Bretton Woods institutions dictating how we should run our economy |
@ Taharqa, are you going to deny that Ali Ndume didn't say to the SSS that Vice President Namadi Sambo who also occupies the post of the Deputy National Leader of PDP was aware of his dealings with BH ? It is only a PDP killer govt that will allow a suspected boko haram sponsor responsible for thousands of death to travel out of Nigeria and still sit in the senate |
taharqa: This is you deliberately trying to select and distort info. 1st, you left out Sheriff and d fact that both Zanna and Ndume were ANPP membas till last yr (sheriff is still ANPP) cos you know it would damage yr narrative. There's no doubt that there are PDP membas who support BH activities, just as there are CPC, ANPP and odas nonpartisan individuals But they all have one thing in common- they are northerners who want Power. This support is mostly indirect by doing nothing to stop it, which in a case of insurgency is as good as supporting dem directly- all of which have now ran off their hands cos just like d Tuaregs in Mali was to undastad, core terroists do not share any purpose or power with oda people..... By d way, d President meant that there were BH sympathizers in all levels of govt (which shld be a no-brainer), not that they were BH membas in his govt as though he appointd them- you guys shld stop this propaganda on dis point cos it is disgusting and very unhelpful. Thank God u got d Azazi statement almost right (although he was talking about those ppl who lost to GEJ in d primaries been in support of d violence). Just a point of interest though, dat same Azazi was also said to hv advZanna and Ndume left ANPP for PDP cos there were sure that PDP will serve as a cover for their nefarious activities. Modu Sherrif does not have immunity but he is a free man today cos he has good rapport with GEJ. Taharqa the way you are going about defending PDP on this matter only show GEJ as a weakling. You say Thievenubu is corrupt meanwhile GEJ who has vowed to tackle corruption cannot arrest him, Buhari is a supporter of BH but this same GEJ that vowed to tackle insecurity cannot arrest him. Abeg as far as am concerned PDP is Boko Haram |
PDP is a nest of Killers- Wole Soyinka |
Ali Ndume gave Boko haram the phone number of the AGF in order to influence the outcome of the Borno state governorship tribunal in favor of "PDP" |
Nuhu Mohammed Marafa (alias Babawo), a suspected financier of the terrorist group Boko Haram with close ties to Vice President Namadi Sambo arrested in Kaduna and later released |
Demdem: In addition to this, even the Killer (PDP) party chairman speaks on behalf of Evil Boko.Ndume claimed that Namadi Sambo was aware of his contact and dealings with BH. |
GEJ- BH are in my Government. Azazi- BH is a product of those aggrieved in PDP Atiku/Kaita/Ciroma - We will make the country ungovernable. Ndume and Zanna- suspected BH sponsors. All those mentioned are PDP members |
Looking at how gullible we Nigerians are, I won't be surprised if Nigeria eventually becomes a One Party State. We tend to lose focus or else who would ever dispute the fact that BH is a PDP sponsored terrorist organisation but since we are all guilty of some sectional or religious bias, whatever those manipulating our weaknesses to champion their personal interest tells us we believe. Today if the talk is about Tinubu, tomorrow it will be Buhari while the real culprits of our stagnancy for the past 13years laugh over our foolishness. GEJ should tell Nigerians who the real sponsors of BH in PDP are |
I am yet to understand why people assume that polygamy is a deeply rooted practise in Islam. Many Muslim/Islamic countries except those operating ultra shariah laws have a legislation on polygamy, its permissible only if one has satisfied certain conditions. Many have abused the idea behind polygamy by marrying the second to fourth wife out of lust reasons why some in the northern part have misused the concept of Talaq/Istibdal |
^^^Care to throw more light on the bolded?
. 1) Starting their own militia/ take up arms against Nigerian Government. 2) Asking all Ibo's in other parts of Nigeria to return to Biafra(East). |
aryzgreat: until ur Yoruba coward ppl challenge the status quo, they still remain the greatest coward in naija!Sharrap. No wonder others don't regard Ibos highly. MASSOB fighting BZM, MASSOB and BZM threatening seccession by mouth when actions could have done the talking for them. F*cking Dregs of Humanity |
He said: “We have concluded all necessary arrangements for successful inauguration of Biafra Republic on November 5. “The mobilisation of our supporters, including all Igbos had been intensified before this sabotage by the MASSOB leader, who has since abandoned the Biafran agitation and resorted to working with the Nigerian government to subdue Biafra.”(quote) Na wao, this people don dey give excuse. MASSOB sabotaging BZM, MASSOB betraying the Biafrans by working with the Government to subdue biafra. I was already planning on rendering assistance to some biafrans to go back to the east. Its a shame that cowardice runs in their blood, the only brave ones are e-warriors. |
seanet01: No more awuf Money collected before from akala for Bleaching Cream Advertisement. Tinubu you wicked o.Guy, you are so on point. Tribune has always depended on government patronage from Akala and the SW PDP boys, Its a pity there are downsizing. |
thelastPope: People like you are not majority. Not so many people are on the ACN payroll. You lot have been playing the ethnic card but that is failing now as witnessed during the last LGA election. Go on with your propaganda and lies. We are watching!@losthope, you are fond of giving yourself a larger than life image. Who is the "We" that are watching? Nairaland is the only place you can aspire to gain prominence, you are inconsequential outside it. Even if ACN will lose Lagos it won't be to PDP, maybe LP or others. |
Nigerians are highly sentimental. I believe Western countries are as much involved in helping Nigeria get rid of this shameful Boko Haram insurgency. For the FG to welcome this arrangement and the mediators named by BH, enough security checks would have been made to clarify if they truly have links Or are the sponsors of BH. Though negotiating with terrorists is not a welcome idea but if the FG feels that is their next move its okay by me. Buhari surely is putting his political career into jeopardy by accepting this move but one can understand that the north hold him in high esteem that was why he accepted. |
mo wapa: Una sabi who owns P.M atleast, partly? Sen.Ojudu of Ekiti A.C.N....go figure ...in-house job..Stop this fallacy. If it truly belongs to Ojudu, would they have come out in their initial report to smear their owners associate? Why didn't other mainstream media report the purported arrest? This Day and Premium Times that also spoke with Met Police and Border Police and they both debunked the claim that she was arrested. If she was truly arrested don't you think the Akala's and other PDP chieftains would have shouted out? I tire for you o |
@Mr. Globe, I noticed you have a particular disdain for anything Yoruba. Its possible Ngige will contest for this governorship election. Do you think Anambrarians would consider him bearing in mind that ACN is viewed as a tribal party? Honest opinion! |
acidtalk: Who am I to believe?Should we then discredit this report based on your post? Let us know where you stand. |
I think the Guild of Editors or NUJ should sanction the writer of such malicious story. We all know our politicians are corrupt but to circulate lies about them is bad. This will make others to verify the content of their news before publishing |
If she was truly arrested, EFCC and Nigeria High Commission in the UK would have confirmed it. This is a case of investigative journalism gone sour |
