Is he just noticing that some underground forces are trying their best in preventing the system from operating properly? Did he not benefit from them? Why is he now criticising them? He also said the 2007 election was successful, which kind of successful? The man is a snake, and is only saying all these now because he wants to keep his job. He is just too desperate for my liking jare, and should go and sit down
PoliticsRe: Chief Imam: I Saw Yar’adua Last Night by tayo4me(f): 10:22pm On Apr 04, 2010
He can see the Imam, but cannot speak to Nigerians or at least see his mother or Jonathan! This story is just too pathetic and shows the extent these people will go in order to hold on to power!

My sisters and I prefer asking our dad for money because my mum will ask for all the details on how you intend spending the money even if it's N5. We just go straight to my dad when we dont have any good explanation.

My mum sometimes says random funny things. There was a day my sister and I did something and my mum was like: "How wont you people do that when you both came out from the same trousers?" I just laugh whenever I remember that statement

There was a day my parents were having an argument over an issue that concerned the family and as the first child, my dad wanted me to join in. My mum was like I should leave the room, my dad said I should stay. I didnt know which to do, and considering the fact that I wanted to listen to the gist, I put one leg in the room and the other outside. That way I obeyed both of them  grin

When we do something good my mum will call us by our pet names, but if other wise it will be your normal name with a very strong voice

The one that pisses me off the most is not picking up when I call. Whenever he finally picks he tells me he was not in the position to pick or that he was sleeping. I find it really annoying especially when I want to tell him something important

@paxson - let's look at this story from another angle - how are you sure that your girlfriend's mum was actually duped by 419? She may have cooked up th story in order to give her daughter an excuse to dump you for another man - it seems their is more to their reaction than meets the eye

PoliticsRe: Turai Would Want Her Husband To Leave Power - Confidant by tayo4me(f): 2:57pm On Mar 21, 2010
Nowadays I am beginning to wonder if Seun is a true Nigerian, because of his comments on sensitive political issues. He always seems to be in support of the wrong doings in politics, which is quite strange based on the nature of Nairaland (for the general masses) unless he is involved in politics.

Most people come on here to express their anger and dissatisfaction at the politicians and expect to be supported/sided. It would have been a different issue if some of those comments came from fellow Nairalanders, but much is expected of someone in Seun's position. I know we are all entitled to our opinions which can sometimes be difficult to change, but Seun should at least try to be sensitive to others opinions.
PoliticsRe: Turai Would Want Her Husband To Leave Power - Confidant by tayo4me(f): 2:43pm On Mar 21, 2010
Her husband would not have been disgraced out of office if she acted properly. But it seems her actions will actually lead to what she is preventing. I have no sympathy for her at all because she caused all these upon herself by taking Nigerians for a ride and should therefore bear the consequences of her actions.
PoliticsRe: Would You Support A Dora Akunyili Led Inec? by tayo4me(f): 2:45pm On Mar 20, 2010
kelvd4real:
Dora did well as NAFDAC boss but when sh was made minister, she almost messed up all she achieved in NAFDAC.
Dont 4get her role in Ekiti elections, Her stands in Yaradua's kitchen cabinet until she realised there was going to be change in power and she quickly jumped the boat (Smart move though).
I know she will not do well in INEC. My reasons,

1. She is not consistent
2. She is too into PDP
3. She cannot control her emotions, hence sometimes engages in Idle talks.
4. Even though people say she is fearless, I disagree because on few occasions when she was hushed down, she disappeared into thin air. The most recent being after the governors forum asked her to keep quiet.

My Submission
Considering my listed points above, i will say NO but rather prefer her in Ministry of Health.
Why dont we try Wole Soyinka or Emeka Anyaoku. Atleast this people are international figures and have a lot to loose if the tamper with their reputations.
I disagree with you. First of all, Soyinka wont accept such position and secondly, the government wont appoint him cuz dey he is too big for them
PoliticsRe: Would You Support A Dora Akunyili Led Inec? by tayo4me(f): 2:39pm On Mar 20, 2010
She can be good, but is at present directly or indirectly involved with a political party, and this can make her biased. On this basis I dont think I'll support a Dora Akunyili led INEC

EducationApplication To The Nigerian Law School- Bar Part One by tayo4me(op): 5:17pm On Mar 08, 2010
Please I need some information on applying to Bar part 1 of the Nigerian Law School. Does your degree need to be an LLB? What if the degree awarded is not an LLB but all the required subjects like Contract, Constitutional etc were taken in University, would one still be admitted?

Can awaiting results candidates also apply? If yes, after how many months of study is one required to present the certificate?

A quick response would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Music/RadioRe: Nigeria Uses Celebrity Power To Stem Cybercrime by tayo4me(f): 12:18am On Feb 12, 2010
The song is cool, but I don't see it changing anything. The government requires more effort in order to eradicate this crime. Singing to them to stop won't make them. If they stop, what other job have they got? I should not be misunderstood, I do not in any way encourage it, but let's be realistic. Although some are greedy, most of those involved are pushed into such business by frustration.

After many years of graduating, people still go about town "begging for jobs", and they have so many mouths to feed, and you tell them not to find "solutions" to their problems. The government should exploit better avenues to put an end to this crime which seems to be waging war against the country and further denting its image, instead of getting celebrities who will not put food on their tables to sing to them.

Funny nobody mentined Mike Enahoro, this man moved motion for Nigeria Independence when the Northerners were not ready. He was among those who chased white men away with their write ups , Jakande, Mokwgo Okoye et all. The man is still fighting for good governance even at twilight of his life. I think he deserves a placement. Why is our memory so short.
It's not Mike Enahoro, it's ANTHONY ENAHORO, and he has already been mentioned. Check ur facts b4 u start using unnecessary words.

Pa Taiwo Akinkumi is also on Facebook. His Facebook Page was set up for him by a concerned group of Nigerian Undergraduates. Just because something fresh has been added to the discussion, I am immediately crucified. Look, I will only cast my vote for a man that left the luxury of England behind to come back to Nigeria. He designed the Nigerian Flag while he was in studying in Britain. I have a book on Flags of the World and it is painful that Taiwo Akinkumi's Profile was not in the book. Yet we have a Ministry of Information in Nigeria. Conduct your research on Pa Taiwo Akinkumi. Don't just castigate withouth sitting back to reflect on fresh posts on Nairaland.
I know we are all entitled to our opinion, and in your opinion, he is the greatest. But gosh we have to be logical and reasonable in whatever opinion we have. You really have not said why you think he is the greatest,, just because he designed the flag?, what is the big deal in doing that?, anybody could have done it, if not him
PoliticsRe: 5 Greatest Living Nigerians by tayo4me(f): 7:24pm On May 15, 2009

I will not pick anyone on the list as the greatest living Nigerian.

My greatest living Nigerian is Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi, the man who designed the National Flag. He has been abandoned by the Government and the Nigerian people. Without the Nigerian Flag, we are nothing as a Nation and a people. All the people on the given list owe it to Taiwo Akinkunmi for them to be called Nigerians. Sola Odunfa did noit do his research well. We are a nation of people who forget too quickly and easily. God help us. Amen.
