Have come across students from nothern teaching hospitals and I can tell you they are very sound. I see them a lot in National confrences. ABU guys really impressed me most. Most of our professors go there to examine for professional exams and they have quite good things to say about them up North.

University of Maiduguri teaching hospital for example I know is very very good. They performed kidney transplant in Nigeria back then in 2010.

If you are given admission in nothern Uni's don't hesitate to take it, I assure you, you're in good hands.

Also in the job market, Nobody gives a damn if you graduated from UI or madonna. Your MBBS degree is seen as equal. What will impress is your personal skill and knowledge, anything else is irrelevant.
