MaxInDHouse: Chai! Janosky wan enter one chance between two trinitarians who are SCATTERED spiritually speaking {Luke 11:23} when both of them won't agree to learn from you.
Abeg let them settle their scores after all they both claimed they can understand their Bible without the help of Christ's anointed brothers. We recognized them but these people don't so let them continue arguing among themselves perhaps they will agree one day so as to carry out the assignment Jesus gave his group which is going to preach, teach, making disciples and baptizing them under one umbrella as Christians.
There's one thing to be intelligent but that doesn't make people wise because the intelligent person may find his way dodging the truth with excuses and giving himself credits but when it comes to delivering the assignment given to the wise that is the time for the intelligent to know that he can't be as productive as the wise since his dodging and excuses will make him a fugitive who is always alone! James 2:18-26 I am happy you are beginning to see this as fun. I am obviously rubbing off on you. You are welcome. |

You decide to interpret this to mean that Jesus is his own father and that is where you go wrong. The scripture only means that Jesus represents his father. I remember one particular Okija shrine but somehow, it is a Yoruba thing because Nairaland Igbos will do anything to taint Yorubas. The era of being liberal is gone. I have become a tribalist as well. I will give you all a taste of your own medicine.

All of you guys, both the Yorubas and the Igbos who keep using tribalism to divide the south and Nigeria among general are the biggest problem of this country. Nigerias problem is not Biafra, IPOB, or the Yoruba nation, it's people like you that seek you to fight a tribal war. |

The bible clearly states that Jesus Christ is God. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Now does this mean that Jesus Christ and his Father are the very same person's? No, they are different individuals but both are Gods. Are they the only Gods? No, there are many Gods but to us Christians, we are only concerned about the Father and his son. Is the Holy Ghost a God? From reading the bible, it's impossible to know if the Holy Ghost is God or not. |

Kobonaire4: Here is a thought. 13.1 million people did not vote for APC, out of the 21 m who did vote.
If those 13.1 million people had voted for one party, APC would have been voted out. But because they voted for 3 different parties, the votes got divided, and APC won the election.
The truth is, APC lost this election. Most Nigerians did not vote for them, nor do they like them. But they won because Atiku and Peter Obi and Kwankwaso and Wike could not at the very least compromise with each other.
That is the sad cold truth. A disunited opposition loses the election.
Like I said, APC did not win this election, the opposition lost it. I do not believe that only 21 million people voted in what was supposed to be Nigeria's most contested election. An election that had 10 million new registered voters yet fewer people voted than 4 years ago. I believe the election was rigged. It's not about who voted for who |

MaxInDHouse: Paul knew much more than all the disciples of Jesus before he became a Christian the problem he had was the same problem all his teachers in Judaism had which is identifying who the Christ the scriptures they've dedicated all their lives to study proved to be! To illustrate it's like someone who studies a map and knew so much because that's what his faculty have been studying for centuries but on getting to the place where the map was drawn out he couldn't figure out that he's now where he has been studying about all his life. Let's say someone now told him that he is now in the exact place do you think people living there will understand the place better than him? Paul and all his teachers have studied the scriptures for centuries but when the Messiah arrived they fail to recognize him so when the Christ now proved to Paul through attacking him from the sky Paul was fully convinced that the same Jesus his teachers in Judaism killed has risen from the dead just as the scriptures said and he's now alive as the promised Messiah! So none of Jesus' disciples who were fishermen and from other fields can teach the scriptures to prove that Jesus is the Christ like Paul! Act 17:1-3
The early Christians who first became born again were all Jews {Act 2:7} so they knew from what the Pharisees has taught them before John baptized Jesus so when Jesus started his ministry they could correlate all what their religious leaders taught them {Matthew 23:2-3} to know that this young man called "Jesus" is the Christ so most of them that remained with the group only awaits the promise of their God based on the command Jesus gave them to stay together {Act 1:8; 2:1} so for these Jews to obey the words of Christ the true God blessed their union by fulfilling His promises which He made to their forefathers! Joel 2:28; Act 2:16-18
I know how desperate you are to prove me wrong so when i respond to your question i'm 100% sure of what i type here it doesn't belong to me but to the anointed brothers of Christ who taught me so thinking you could console yourself by arguing won't work. Oga a few things here. First from what you have said, it shows the merits of studying the scriptures even before conversation. If Paul had not studied the scriptures before his conversation he would not have become as good as you say he was. Next the early Christians were not all Jews. I gave you the example of Cornelius and his entire family. Again, Paul was on his way to Attack the church in Antioch when he was converted. Antioch was not a Jewish city. That tells you that even before the call of Paul, the Gospel was being spread to non Jewish nations. You also forget that on the day of pentecost, the apostles preached in different languages because they were not preaching to just Jews. So again, you are wrong. Lastly, how do you know that your brothers who taught you are not wrong. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Diverse Knowledge But One Truth by tctrills: 10:28pm On Feb 28, 2023 |
MaxInDHouse: Christ ATTACKED Paul not visit, the young man has a sincere heart for pure worship {Galatians 1:14} as he was trained by a Pharisee known as Gamaliel who was highly respected by all the Jews {Act 5:34; 22:3} with such a fine background Paul wasn't fighting out of spite but thought he's fighting a just course. That's why Jesus attacked him but he told him to go and meet a member of Christ's group so that they can open his eyes {Act 9:12} and teach him Christianity! Act 9:6
So Paul became a Christian after he has been instructed by members of the group but since he was a studious Jew back in Judaism who knew much more than all the disciples of Jesus regarding the scriptures he was quick to know better than them now that he is now a baptized Christian studying the Bible through the lense of Christianity unlike what he was taught to believe back in Judaism. That's why Jesus chose him for the great work of being the Apostle of all other nations! Act 9:15 The twelve apostles are to stay in Jerusalem as apostles for the Jews but Paul is the one Christ chose to connect the gentiles to himself! Galatians 2:7; 1Timothy 2:7 Therefore if any person from any nation thinks he could understand Christianity without studying Paul's letters thoroughly such a person is deceiving himself! You can call paul's visit an attack or whatever but it does not stop it from being a visit. He was even given instructions. Now you say Paul knew more than other disciples because he was a studious jew, this destroys your point that you need to be a born again or a member of a specific group to study the scriptures. Again many of the early Christians did not need to study Paul's letters to become born again. Cornelius never needed Paul's letters. Again Christ did not choose Paul to connect with the world, he chose all the 12 Apostles. Even before Paul became a Christian, he instructed them to go into the world and preach to all creatures. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Diverse Knowledge But One Truth by tctrills: 4:35pm On Feb 28, 2023 |
MaxInDHouse: Baptism comes when the individual grasp the purpose of the Christ so before a person is qualified for baptism he must have known what the God of Abraham did and the things He is doing presently, what role the Christ will play in the salvation of mankind and what part the Holy Spirit will play that's what Jesus meant when he said "baptized them in the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" {Matthew 28:19} so a person who has no knowledge of these three is not qualified for baptism.
After baptism a Christian knows that the God of Israel will not speak to him in person due to what the God of Abraham said about the chosen nation, he knows that Christ doesn't have a personal relationship with individuals rather Christ only comes in the gathering of his anointed brothers (BORN AGAIN) he knows that if he doesn't understand something in the Bible he must wait until God's Holy Spirit reveal it to the anointed brothers of Christ who will in turn teach the congregation. That's why Jesus said "teach them" Matthew 28:20 compare to Hebrew 13:7, 17
So if anyone feels like understanding the Bible in isolation he won't find any group where what he thinks he knows will work that's why such a person can't work with any congregation as One Body! John 17:22 Christ personally visited Paul. And yes you make a great point, the Holy Ghost reveals all things to those who are Born again. |

MaxInDHouse: Now you know, the Ethiopian Eunuch read the scriptures but can't grasp it's meaning that's why Philip a baptized Christian was sent to TEACH him. Apollos has been baptized by John but since he's not baptized into the group of Christ he couldn't grasp the scriptures like baptized Christians! But the bible never stated that the eunuch and Aoollos did not understand the scriptures because they were not baptized. Secondly, are you saying that all baptized people understand everything in the scriptures? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Diverse Knowledge But One Truth by tctrills: 1:05pm On Feb 28, 2023 |
MaxInDHouse: Personal study of the Bible only works after an individual has been preached to, taught and baptized into the group. Matthew 28:19-20 That's why the Ethiopian Eunuch begged Philip to explain what he is reading in the Bible, he need the guidance of a member of the group to TEACH him so that he is baptized into the group. Act 8:26-36 compare to Act 18:24-26
May you have PEACE! Ok so the bible should only be studied by baptized Christians? The verses you quoted says nothing about when one is allowed to read the bible by himself. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Diverse Knowledge But One Truth by tctrills: 11:00am On Feb 28, 2023 |
MaxInDHouse: YES you have to study the Bible but you must not do so alone because Jesus Christ the one who supposed to help you understand what you're reading won't come unless you're with another person making two or three studying the Bible together! Matthew 18:20 So personal study of the bible is a waste of time. Hmmm I see. |

babaolofin: Obasanjo was never the IBO choice. The battle between Obasanjo and Ekwueme for PDP ticket was turned into a tribal war by the IBOs. That battle between Ekwueme and Obasanjo heated the polity. Obasanjo was insulted. What Tinubu faced in the hands of the IBOs was exactly what Obasanjo went through but the saving grace was the absent of internet and social media.
They have no choice as most of their prominent people are already in PDP and some of the prominent people were seeking election as Governors, Senate and House of Reps.
They found out only Yoruba man can tackle Yoruba. After election, they brought SB Awoniyi as PDP chairman, but Obj rejected him. In 2003, Alex Ekwueme challenged Obasanjo again.
Afenifere running jingles and advertisements in Yoruba language for Peter OBI in South West can only be done by Afenifere. Ohaneze Ndigbo can never do that for Yoruba in IBO land.
Lagos has an issue. Oba of Lagos created the problem ignorantly. If Otunba Adekunle Ojora has been crowned as Oba of Lagos, the problem wouldn't have been around. What are you taking about? A Yoruba man would look down on someone in a queue waiting in the sun sweating and in the midst of lowly people and so the typical Yoruba man would not come out to vote because you don’t want your friends to see you sweating in a queue . However the igbos in Lagos usually don’t have family here and don’t care about the class or social structures of Lagos. They don’t mind sleeping at the voting booth for two days and looking all rough because they know they are just in Lagos to hustle and they have nobody to impress here. This is why there were not many Yoruba voters but tonnes of igbo voters. When would this your foolish tribalism end. So not voting is considered as sophistication in Yoruba land right?
