When Babangida recently advised his fellow septuagenarian, octogenarian and nonagenarian friends in politics to give way to the younger generation, he probably thought the Nigerian youths were ready.

Going through the responses here should change his mind fast.

Youths aren't even demanding for this contestant's blueprint before condemnation. All they see are his ethnicity, religion, and supposed lack of "experience".

Nigerian youths will rather stick with those who have great " experience " in looting and brigandage.

Good luck, Nigeria.
You have expressed my thoughts. Perhaps, i can only add that this same route was traveled by that foremost human rights activist, Late Gani Fawehinmi, but he was rejected by his own chosen constituency, the masses and downtrodden.

This is exactly what Sowore is experiencing now.

Don't conclude that she made false allegations against the school.

I seriously doubt that the senate advised her to withdraw on the basis of this result seeing that the result isn't that bad.

We need to know if other students from this school with this kind of results were advised to withdraw.

But it's usually greener sha, with only few exceptions. Most people based in Western countries don't want to return to Nigeria permanently, despite the claim made by a few of them that the grass is not always greener on the other side. Nobody wants to suffer in this hellhole of a country.
It is different strokes for different folks. Some people based in Western countries actually want to return to Nigeria but the shame of being left behind by folks they left in Nigeria, achievements wise, sometimes discourage them from taking the plunge.

There are quite a number of beautiful opportunities in Nigeria and with some planning and God on your side, the possibilities are enormous.

This is not to say that some guys aren't doing wonderfully well abroad.

This has nothing to do with Cee-C..... He got his first strike as a result of ignoring big brothers call to dairy section.... While the second one was because he conspire with lolu and anto to put Cee-C up for eviction and they were smart enough to understand that Tobi was breaking the rules of the house they didn't contribute anything in the conversation they had but left him to be gossiping and barking like a pubic dog........ Never knew this childish attitude exist in among his family members cause they don't seem to take their mouth off Cee-C same way their brother can't do without calling her......"LIKE YO DO YOU UNDERSTAND" cheesy
I was beginning to like this Tobi of a guy until I noticed his gross immaturity and his penchant for running his mouth. He is a big let down to men of strong character.
PoliticsRe: Peter Obi: What Governors Earn In Nigeria Is Immoderate by teepain: 8:00pm On Mar 15, 2018
seunmsg:
If Obi want Nigerians to take him serious, he should reveal the immoderate salaries that he earned while in office and let us judge him. When he was enjoying the immoderate salary, he kept quiet and enjoyed it. Now that he's out of office and seeking another opportunity at public office, he's hypocritically putting pressure on current governors with the intention to deceive gullible Nigerians. Once he gets back to public office, he will start enjoying the immoderate salaries and keep quiet again. Just go away with your double face hypocrisy Mr. Obi.
But it is never too late to correct a mistake. What all pro APC, pro PDP and non-partisan people should do is to agitate for a slash in the take home pay of elected officials. That way we can make political offices less attractive to this bunch of rent seekers and charlatans parading themselves as leaders on our political landscape.

The last time I talked about this attitude of the youths, one hate filled wannabe took it personal and insulted me even my size and all.
Although some youths are wise but most youths in this country have lost it.
No shame anymore in spilling out foolishness in an online forum.
The problem you identified is the reason why there is a steady decline of honest social critics and activists in Nigeria.

When an activist fights for the Nigerian masses, what does he or she gets in return? The same masses will turn around and say to him "next time, you will learn to keep shut".

Gani Fawehinmi, fought severally for the masses and when he sought for their votes, how many people voted for him?

It is a dangerous thing to fight for Nigerian masses cos when the chips are down, they will never stand by you.

AIT survived so far on corruption. Check out the billions of Naira paid to them by Jonathan for 2015 election propaganda.
Does it mean that the looted largess is finished?
Spot on!

AIT have always survived at the expense of the general public:

1. There was a time that Dokpesi solicited for donations from Nigerians for his business (Raypower), after a supposed fire outbreak. He made some cool amount of money through that scheme.

2. Daar Communications made a bogus initial public offer through the Nigerian Stock Exchange and divested people of their hard earned money without any commensurate benefit.

3. He collected funds from Dasuki and still didn't pay his staff then.

Dokpesi is a phoney businessman.

From your logic:

If Dokpesi had to rely on your supposedly blood money from your supposedly useless politicians to pay ordinary salaries to his staff, it shows how bad the economy has become that his business can no longer break even.

I know this is beyond your comprehension undecided
It is on record that Dokpesi was never a good employer; even when GEJ was in power and he had access to state funds through Dasuki and others he still owed his workers.

We should not politicise every thing.

I live oversea, your presumption is wrong. Nigerians abroad are some of the educated and sophisticated immigrants any nation can ask for. The ones involved in crimes are a tiny fractions. Every countries on mother earth have criminals, if you live overseas you'll discover their citizens commit as much horrible crimes. From rape of months old babies to rape and abductions of adult to serial killers, arson , robbery, assault etc, difference is you can escape justice in Nigeria but in developed world the system will catch you someday.
You are mostly correct in your assertions about how Westerners too commit crime. However, Nigerians suffer a lot of negative profiling at ports of entry all over the world.

Nigerians have to consciously correct these perceptions by being law abiding and eschewing the get-rich-quick syndrome wherever we find ourselves.

Best way to handle it is for Buhari not to run. This system needs an overhaul.

In 2011, GEJ enjoyed tremendous goodwill but frittered it away. The cycle is repeating itself with PMB having enjoyed and frittered away a similar goodwill.

Nigerians should vote him out come 2019 to assert our power to hire and fire.

grandstar:
He sounds like a fantasist

Though he makes some sense that a balanced budget isnt a must, but imprudent borrowing by APC states has exposed the downside of his statement.

Rather, strenghening the revenue base of the FG and all layers of government by increasing tax revenues from the shameless 5%of GDP to at least 12% should be the goal.

The talk of reducing lending rates is sound and can only occur if the Central Bank ends the Naira substitution policy dollar oil earnings which consistently leads to excess money in circulation
Soludo wanted to end the substitution policy but was frustrated by Yaradua , governors and his enemies in the CBN.

The use of fiscal stimulus is a no no. With inflation at 15%, you'll simply push inflation further up and lending rates as well therefore negating the cheap cost of credit which he seeks.

Once interest rates crash to less than 10%, there will be little or no need for a mortgage policy. What home borrowers crave most are low morrages rates. That will natural boost the number of mortgages.

As for a peñsion policy, now is not the time. There is simply no money for that now. It will only boost recurrent expenditure. The family network is still strong and children still consider it their duty to take care of their parents.
You may need to have a rethink about the aptness of making provisions for some kind of social security for old people now.

The current scheme of things where the children are burdened with catering wholly for their aged parents would further strengthen the propensity of people for corruption. We should ask ourselves, how we expect people to live within their means when they have to cater for their aged parents, build house(s) without mortgage, buy automobiles without credit lines, cater for their own nuclear family, help to sort unemployed friends and then save for the rainy day.

The current practice places the youths in a situation where they start out their lives on a deficit whereas their global counterparts from developed economies do not have this burden.

Sometimes I wonder why it is so difficult for these herder's to embrace the modern method of cattle rearing instead of wondering about the whole country destroying farmlands which in turn results to unnecessary clash.
This herdsmen issue can only be solved by a serious government who Will put its feet on the ground and say enough is enough. If you don't won a ranch, then you are not allowed to rear cows. But this present administration has proven beyond reasonable doubt that they are not different from the nomadic herders themselves.
The herders cannot make the decision to embrace modern methods of cattle rearing because most of them are just employees working on behalf of our billionaires comprising of Fulanis, Hausa's and some southerners!

The cattle owners are the ones that have to embrace ranching but I guess they are afraid of the possible increase in their cost of operations.

Do the wives of these criminals ever attempt to impress it upon their spouses the lives they lead affect those around them negatively? Doesn't public perception matter to them?

This is what i don't understand to this day.
I was thinking along this same line but upon further reflection I thought it could be difficult to advise such a criminal without the wife incurring his wrath; I mean he could have killed her. Perhaps, you may think she could have ran away or divorced him; either of the options could lead to her being killed.

In this kind of situation, she takes instructions only. Not a good life to live, even for the woman.

I think the Fulani herdsmen should respect the law of the land of there host

When sharia was implemented in some northern states we non Muslim abide peacefully

What is good for the goose is also good for the gander
It is not even about the Fulani herdsmen 'respecting the laws of the land of their host', it is about them respecting the fact that Nigeria is a constitutional democracy and there are legitimate ways to address grievances.

If the Fulani herdsmen feel aggrieved by the antigrazing law they should approach the court to explain how it violates their rights instead of resorting to killing innocent people who didn't make the law.

Their demand for the abrogation of the law as precondition for peace in Benue flies in the face of logic though because it is on record that they had been killing people even before the enactment of the anti-grazing law.

YOUR problem now is that, you feel you can do better.. Like get a more educated, cultured and pretty woman. It is called the shiny Object syndrome.

The best relationships is one where the woman loves the most, man's job is to complement with logic.
