That you are in a loveless marriage does not give you the impetus to recommend same for another person.
The gentleman you quoted did not state anywhere that he is in a loveless marriage! He only said he didn't love his wife at first sight.

Sometimes, you may be in possession of a rough diamond whose beauty you can only appreciate and love after polishing.

However, each person to his own tent!

Well, am 32 now.. .......
If you have the time and financial wherewithal, you can still take some classes. You don't need to aim at being a black belter.

Even, if you are 40 and you are recruited into the armed forces of most developed countries you would still be taken through martial arts for self defence.

Your temperament is one of the reasons you should have joined a karate or any other martial arts class.

That is because martial arts training stabilizes and calms your temperament. It improves your self confidence as well as toughen you physically and mentally.

Yes, his father was in the church as reported. His father was shot at close range before they opened fire on others that were close to his father.

This guy can actually decide to lie low and stop reporting, and it would have zero impact on his life. But he has decided to single-handedly take on the biggest problem facing Nigeria and instead of being supported by the masses, he is being ridiculed by the same masses.
Reading through this thread has given me a very clear idea why we are where we are. And this is why we produce the kind of leaders we currently have.
I realized the problem you just highlighted aeons ago. And that is why fighting for the common man on the street is an exercise in futility IMO.

This is the very reason why we are now lacking in genuine activists; because the guys you think you are fighting for would end up throwing you under the bus!

God bless you for this. I'm pretty sure you're well enlightened about the ordeal Lautech have been passing through all these years. Some idiots just saying nonsense on this topic.
It is pathetic that students are suffering from the actions of few greedy ones.

Management of LAUTECH can't be exculpated from the issues the school has.

This is not the university that the pioneers from O.A.U dreamt of; from Prof Oke (Pioneer VC) to Late Prof. Ayeni.

The Alumni association is not helping matters because some of the excos of the Alumni association are part of management in Lautech today.

The management needs to sit up. They can't be collecting money from government and be shouting autonomy when it comes to probity.

My brother LAUTECH's management is a disgrace and I say that with all sense of responsibility.

LAUTECH generates one of the highest sums from her Postgraduate programs using all manner of centres. They never release results on time playing all manner of games with the funds generated from the programs.

I will write about the plight of some ex students of the post graduate school who have not been given their results after 8 years.

The corruption in that place is endemic.

I do not enjoy any privity beyond what is available in the public domain.

That said, you may recall the allegations of Honourable Jibrin (former Chairman of Appropriations Committee, House of Reps).

The gentleman alleged, among other things, that Dogara and others inserted 2000 projects valued at 284 billion Naira in the 2016 national budget. Curiously, the National Assembly did not deny the allegations but argued rather it was within their rights to insert expenditure lines.

You have totally captured my sentiments. I wonder why the youths here expend their energy on APC vs PDP vs APDA vs APGA while the rapacious looting elites fraternize at their various clubs.

PDP, APC chieftains fraternize at Ikoyi Golf Club, Lagos Island Club and many others.

Fayose fraternizes with Aregbesola and Tinubu, yet some fellows here are ready to break their skulls for these people. Certainly, some mother's do have them!
PoliticsRe: BPP Indicts CBN, Power Ministry, SGF For Padding Budgets by teepain:

The original intention was to embezzle it but for the cat and mouse relationship between the executive and legislature. No doubt, they would have invoiced a major part of it, the little returned was because they could not tie it to something untraceable. Fashola is a smart thief, they should always scrutinize his budgets very well and cut down any bogus demands.
Sadly it would be inappropriate to blame the ministries entirely for this unspent budgeted sum because of our untidy budgetary process, wherein national assembly members rework the budget by inserting expenditure heads after budget and without recourse to the preparer of the budget.

To break it down

1. A minister prepared his budget requesting N10000 for projects A, B, C, D.

2. The national Assembly inserts projects E, F & G for the members selfish interests and approves the total sum of N15000

3. The minister refuses to execute the projects initiated by the national Assembly members (rightfully so, because some of these projects such as village boreholes, lg Secretariat, town hall buildings et all are not the business of FG) and at the end of the fiscal year, retires the unspent funds.

4. Some Nigerians then accuse the minister of budget padding.

The practice of national Assembly inserting projects into budgets occured under OBJ, Yaradua, GEJ and is happening under PMB. Until they stop this practice it becomes difficult to hold the ministries accountable for not implementing projects that they neither initiated nor bought into.

Nigeria is a joke and we deserve the charlatans that parade themselves as our leaders.

The youths aren't thinking and the elites are riding roughshod on us by exploiting religious, ethnic and political differences!

My dear better face reality. Dino can never be successfully recalled as long as Saraki remains Senate president. Why didn't the presidency use its so-called presidential powers to remove saraki all this while it has been trying to.presidential powers ko residential powers ni
The fact that PMB has not removed Saraki as Senate President implies one of two things:

1. Either PMB is not really interested in removing Saraki as Senate President or
2. PMB is clueless on how to remove Saraki

That someone has a loaded gun and does not use it or know how to use it, does not mean that the gun is not lethal. Give the loaded gun to someone who has the capacity and willingness to use it and see what happens.

If Saraki were the President and a Senate President was acting up with him, can you imagine what would happen.

Lol it is only the Senate president who can declare his seat vacant. After INEC finishes their Abracadabra they will still come to the Senate. It is only when the Senate is satisfied that he can be recalled. Obasanjo in all his abracadabra could not get rid of Naaba.Make I hear word jare.

If the IGP or the COAS wants to lose their jobs they should send any of their men close to the Senate. You really don't understand how powerful the Senate as an institution is once there are united
You think GEJ didn't know what he was saying when he said Nigerians would consider him an emperor if he used 10% of his presidential powers?!

I pray you will get the kind of President you wish for one of these days. He would turn out a Machiavelli kind of person and maybe just then you would understand how powerful the President can be.

Talking about the IG or COAS losing their jobs, Magu has not lost his job as acting EFCC Chairman the last time I checked!

Friedplantain? Your English is plenty tongue

You're correct though. I don't know if it is hunger or lack of enlightenment causing this
Friedplantain is totally correct in his assertion that hunger isn't the cause. I will like to add that Africans just like freebies even when they can afford those stuffs. It explains why a senator collecting allowances and all manners of perks would still be enjoying retirement benefits as a former governor.

The second reason is just that Africans always prefer to be wicked either to animals or fellow men. Or is hunger responsible for the many lizards that are stoned to death daily by African children, just for fun?!

So there you have it, insatiable greed and embedded wickedness, are the reasons for these things.

The same way INEC ignored the court order is the same way the Senate will ignore INEC when there are through with their abracadabra. Dino will continue to sit tight in the Senate irrespective of what comes out of this illegal exercise
You guys overrate the Senate cum senators in our democracy.

Pray that the senators would ignore INEC if Melaye is recalled and let the elements in the national Assembly continue their macabre dance.

Should the executive arm decide to deploy the security agencies to enforce the outcome of the recall process I hope you will not cry foul.

The senators should allow the process to go on without prejudice to the rights of Melaye to approach the courts if he feels aggrieved.

Urging a state of anarchy would not do the lawmakers any good. The executive controls all security agencies.

Saraki and co should thank their stars that they aren't dealing a mean person like OBJ or Wike or Fayose. If those characters were the President the minority would become the majority and Saraki, Melaye and co would have been removed.

restructuring is only like delaying the inevitable since it seems that's what everybody wants

even as a Yoruba man, I think its better we split up already

Methinks restructuring and choosing quality leadership devoid of ethnic colouration is the way to go.

By balkanizing the nation, no one gains anything. If care is not taken the criminal elements will emerge as leaders in the divided regions and the problems will persist.

There are subtribal cracks in each ethnic group that can be exploited by the thieving elites of each ethnic group.

I urge all the youths to shun name calling and I particularly call on Seun and other supermods to discourage people from using this platform for ethnic bashing.

I got some of my chess interest and ideas from Dapo Adu, way back in Abesan estate in Ipaja Lagos in late 80s and early 90s. Though, i was not really playing then but i was always behind my cousin and Dapo Adu playing chess. Dapo Adu later represented Nigeria at international competitions and for some of us who had passion for the game it was an opportunity for us to develop more interest for the game. Later, i started playing as amateur among my friends and the game really helped my conceptual skills and ability. The game is called GAME OF LIFE.
I wish i could have more time to play chess like i used to before, the last serious encounter i had with chess was when myself and team-mates at FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC ILARO Ogun state was to represent my school for the chess championship at NIPOGA at AUCHI POLYTECHNIC in the year 2003/04 NIPOGA GAMES, ever since,
i have not had any serious game with anyone due to many challenges of life as i grow up. I wish i could play with someone of like minds and not boastful players anyway.
Dapo Adu is a great chess mind. That left handed dude! Laughing out loud. Whenever he was winning a game in masters 1 then he would cough to attract people's attention to his board!

Nigerians do not celebrate anything that is cerebral! We would rather talk about mundane things!

Since Pastor Adeboye raised the prayer against kidnappers at June HL service, we have been seeing different arrests.
I believe it's God at work.
Are you people suggesting that, prior to this this time, Pastor Adeboye deliberately refused to raise prayer against kidnappers until the June HL service? Knowing fully well that, at his say so, all these kidnappers could have been caught earlier, one wonders why he didn't raise the prayer earlier considering the several lives and properties that have been lost to kidnappers.

In any case, we need to ask ourselves how many other things are going wrong because Pastor Adeoye have not raised prayers about them at the HL services.

You can't ascribe the good things that happen in Nigeria to the efficacy of Pa Adeboye's Prayers without linking the bad things that happen in Nigeria to "lack of efficacy" of his prayers or outright refusal to pray about those things.

I have always said it that the problem of Nigeria is not unemployment but under employment. There are jobs but the pay is nothing to write home about. When you see them saying they have reduced employment by so so so percentage do you think its by office jobs?...hell No!!.. it's mostly menial jobs, but no one complains because the pay is very okay. The problem of Underemployment in Nigeria needs to be taken seriously.
Sadly the problem of unemployment and underemployment might not be taken care of soon for the following reason:

The youths that should be demanding for better governance are blinded already by ethnic and religious bigotry, as well as foolish sentiments premised on political affiliation. That is why you would read comments as foolish as "shey na only him loot?", "as long as you have not arrested all the thieves from the other parties/ tribes then you must not arrest the thieves from my party/ tribe.

Such asinine remarks explain why Nigeria is in this parlous condition.
