It makes a lot of economic sense that Russia will build a more challenging rail for a fraction of that cost for the following reasons:

1. Most of the raw materials that will be used for this project will be imported while they exist in Russia, so Russians don't have to import

2. We lack the railway engineering expertise in Nigeria hence foreigners (expatriates) will be engaged while Russia has the technical expertise

Those 2 reasons above are sufficient to bring about price differential.

A building engineer can build a duplex for #30 million naira while you (a non-building expert) may build yours for #45 million Naira.

A private hospital is a business venture It's their right to set up and own any legitimate business

Actually you are the one that is wrong in the circumstance.

Extant civil service rules forbid government workers from owning private businesses because of the inherent problem of conflict of interest.

Doctors can own and run their private hospitals but they have to choose between private practice or public practice.

In a country where there is a high rate of unemployment, people who have the financial and technical capacity should establish their own businesses (hospitals) in this case and allow other qualified people without the financial wherewithal to take government employments.

Of all state universities, LAUTECH has one of the highest internally generated revenue. But there isn't anything to show for it.

At a point, this school had about 97 accounts and yet they didn't want external auditors appointed by government to look into their books but they want funding from government.

The school management is a fraud and I think NANS (LAUTECH) chapter should start querying the authority.

The doctor to patient ratio is low but that does not totally explain the misdemeanor of some medical practitioners in this country.

Same doctor who complains about having to attend to too many patients would like a policeman to perform the magic of securing him when the police is understaffed.

He would want a banker to attend promptly and courteously to him even when there is a lot of workload on the banker(s) as well.


When the hospital accounts' staff makes a mistake on the computation of his monthly salary, he is annoyed and does not want to understand that the finance department too is under a lot of pressure.

As professionals, we all should do our utmost best and realize that we live in an interdependent world.
