Well, you may just be comparing apples with oranges.

It may make more sense to buy the local rice for #450 instead of the foreign one @500 if you consider that:

1. Some of the foreign rice have been stored for close to 10 years and have preservatives which may be injurious to your health.

2. The value chain of the local rice provides ample opportunity for employment for Nigerians who could be your friends and/or relatives therefore reducing their financial dependence on you.

I am wondering why this your post has not garnered several likes! You have succinctly captured the followership problem in Nigeria.

All those solutions you mentioned will not have saved them from the impending doom at best it would have slowed it a bit and at worst it would have hit harder.
They created their cryptocurrency (it's still a currency, pseudo even though), but what guarantees it value? Their economy? Don't forget that a currency's value in an open market is a rough estimation of the strength of the economy of that country.
Growth is stagnant because their economy is largely dependent on oil (paradox of plenty) and their oil wells are running dry because of lack of maintenance. The little they can produce is used to pay of debts to China, I think, and one other country (or countries).
In fact, Venezuela is where you don't wan't to be as a nation. There's no quick fix. Popular economics wouldn't fix it.

This exactly captures the folly of a lot of partisan fellows here. People of all religions on all sides of the political parties should be encouraged to partake in politics, whether in PDP or APC or any other party.

When people of any religion elect to abstain from partaking in politics they forfeit their rights to shout marginalization in appointments.

Much as I hate Buhari's administration and the man himself, I think this statement by Ben Bruce is "nationally wrong' and not good for our development. Ben Bruce must be seen as an enemy of the state.

Yes, the past government started it but the project would have been a deserted ruin if this present government had turned it's face away. The man who completes a task deserves the better share of the accolades. And that's what Buhari has done. This statement by Bruce has the potential of discouraging continuity in governance which in turn will stifle development. Lets not allow our party affiliation and political loyalty stagnate our progress.
