It doesn't matter who is being judged here what matters instead is why the Law says. undecided

Again, one who is a representative of the Law shouldn't then need to be subjected to judgment by the same Law He represents. According to Jesus Christ, the representative He has in this world is The Spirit of God and Truth. All others are frauds. undecided
If you like represent yourself. I am His Reflection on this earth. If you don't like it, too bad!
Kobojunkie:
I can bet that you probably don't even know how to get that light to shine... God's formular for this. undecided

Jesus Christ called those who are to let the light that He is, shine though them His followers, servants, Fishers of men, not representatives. As servants, we are not appointed to act or speak for Jesus Christ - we will be judged for everything we claim to have have in His name..undecided
Only the Master has the right to judge how well I represent Him and not you or anyone who sent you.

Let me remind you of what my Master said.
John 20:21:
"Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be to you: as my Father has sent me, even so send I you."

Can you see where Jesus sent me to represent Him just as the Father has sent Him!?

You love to argue against what you don't understand.

Kobojunkie, who has sent you? Is it the law?

Jesus Christ didn't need to write the book since His Law is instead written by God in the hearts of those who belong to Him, but just as you have a conclusion to the content of the Old Law, so also a ratification to the New Covenant Law, Jesus Christ. undecided

And again, it is a great sin to add other commandments to that which is God's Law. undecided
Being a representative of Christ simply means LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE....

If you are not comfortable with that, I wonder who your master is!?

It is Jesus Christ who taught us to judge righteously, this using the righteous standard which is the New Covenant. According to the New Covenant, those who love Him are those who obey His teachings and commandments- they go out of their way to conform to His Truth in every aspect, so when a Pope, for instance, claims by mouth and maybe title to be a representative of God on earth, yet his every act and decision speaks otherwise, does this somehow mean Christ is of darkness? undecided

The only representative Jesus Christ spoke of is the Spirit of Truth and He abides and shines in and through those servants who live in continual submission and obedience of the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ. . undecided
Honestly, I don't know who you are judging
1. Is it the one who said he wants to be a priest of the Roman Catholic Church?
2. Is it the one who advised him instead to be a representative of Christ in Words and Deeds?
3. Would you have preferred that he be a representative of satan?

I don't know what your problem is!?

The only one who represents Jesus Christ is the Holy Spirit in those who are Holy/Perfect. We are vessels, servants for Him and our works judged by Him that is why Jesus Christ Himself never once taught us that we are to represent Him as you assume. undecided

If you claim you represent Christ to the world by letting His light shine through you but it turns out the light you claim is nothing but the same darkness that prevails in all other man in the world, how much of a representation do you serve of Jesus Christ there? NONE! undecided

These things are not by mouth or claim or confession as your Pastors and Priests have taught you to believe. There is wisdom to the Truth of Jesus Christ- His teachings and commandments that many of you conveniently gloss over so you can continue to believe as you choose. undecided
Unfortunately, it looks s not given to you to judge anyone on this.

Jesus Christ announced, "it is finished" on the cross.. what do you think He meant by that? undecided

In Deuteronomy 30, after many decades of writing down what is the Old Covenant in what is today called Book of the Law of Moses, Moses made a similar declaration to the People of Israel, regarding God's Law and agreement to them. What do you think that meant? undecided

Much like the Old Covenant/Testament Law of Moses, God's Law, Jesus Christ is final authority, and in His teachings and commandments are defined the terms and conditions of the relationship between God and individual men. No one can add or remove from any of God's Laws- No human being has that authority. Anyone who attempts to sins against God. undecided
I am not arguing with you on this, after all, Jesus didn't write a single book of the bible!

You are the Light of the World, or the Light of the World, Jesus Christ, is meant to shine through you? undecided

Anyways, Jesus Christ applied many titles to Himself - Teacher, Shepherd, Master, Authority, Guide, Counselor, Helper etc., - but He also made it clear to His followers that He alone occupied said roles in His Kingdom - none of His followers were to attempt to occupy the same roles over the lives of others. undecided

Please fellow nairalanders, this is a true life story that happened to me and I really need your advice. The write up is long but please bear with me.
Am a student in one of the federal universities in the East. I graduated 2019 and due to covid 19 and little delay in my school, am yet to collect my statement of result but to God be the glory, am almost done with collecting that.
I am born into a family of four and am the third. I am also a Catholic.
Before I got admission into university, my Mum use to attend one Catholic prayer ministry like that. It happened that she took me to the ministry on this particular day. The woman heading the ministry saw me and said to me, young man, what is preventing you from being a priest. Both my Mum and I was shocked. She now asked me when I was small whether I had the intention of being a priest. I replied that people used to call me father but I really don't know if I choose that for myself coz I was little then. She then replied that mother Mary and her son wants me to be a priest. My mum and I brushed that aside and my mum assured me that anyone can serve God either as a priest or not.
I later got admission into the university and during one of the vacations, I got back home and one of my sister's friend came to our house. My sister told me that she sees in spirit and also prohesies to people and immediately she saw me entering the house, she called me aside and told me she is seeing me standing in the pulpit and talking to people. That I have a very bright star. She now asked me about my relationship with God and I told her the organ that I belonged to in the church and she now recommended that I should join choir.
Now two years ago we travelled to the village for Xmas, I went in to greet my grandma and she turned sharply to me and said( Bia nwokem, okwa I ma nga chie Father) which literally means, see young man, won't you go and become priest. I was really marvelled. She didn't even utter any word to me again.
Now fast forward to this particular year( 2021),I traveled back to school for my clearance. My friends are around too and we normally get high on alcohol and weed. Though I don't smoke but I eat food made with weed. So that particular day, we cooked with weed and Its effect pulled me down. On a norms, my head dey fit carry am but that particular day, the weed was more than the food.
It happened that they even had to carry me inside the bathroom and left the shower open just for me to be calm. I regained consciousness a little bit but was fighting inner battle with myself coz of the effect of the weed. I brought out my rosary with my prayer book and kept close to my head on the bed. My friends now deemed it fit to leave the room for me. As they left the room, it didn't even took five minutes they left and I entered into a trance. Everywhere became dark and I saw a bright light that lite up the room. It dragged me up from the bed and made me bow down to that light 3 times shouting; I WILL BE A PRIEST continuously. I was shouting that and at the same time bowing down to that bright light. I even removed my cloth and became fully naked and standing infront of our center mirror still in my trance state and said; I WILL BE A PRIEST, IF AM NOT A PRIEST OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, KILL ME LORD, I WILL SPEAK THE TRUTH (i said this part dragging out my tongue).
I also raised up my rosary and said; I WILL BE A PRIEST OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH and mind you, I said this words nonstop without blinking or pausing and the scary part, it took me to a reading table in my room and I took a pen and a piece of paper and it dragged me to the bed, sat me down, threw me up and then placed my hand with the pen on the piece of paper and wrote; I WILL BE A PRIEST.
Please friends, I didn't make this story up, both heaven and Earth will bear me witness. Immediately I wrote that, I got myself and lied on the bed and slept off. I woke up and by then my friends are now back and Lo and behold, I looked at my chest and saw that book on my chest with the write up bodly written on it. I explained my story to them still shocked and in the trance state a little bit and said to them, even if am not a priest and I got married, that I will never give birth.
The picture of the piece of paper that I wrote is attached below
Please friends I need your advice coz am confused
Why don't you be a Priest of Christ rather than being a priest of the roman catholic church?

(1) 99.9% of Muslims are peaceful and peace-loving.

(2) Less than 0.001% of Muslims are terrorists.

But how people (mostly those whose religion is allegedly "the religion of "love"wink use the evil actions of the (2) above to condemn (1) above is incredibly pathetic!

Hence, one wonders, where is "the love"?

It, definitely, is in the words of mouth and not actions! A bunch of hypocrites!
You may be correct. Unfortunately, experience show that the 99.9% peaceful Muslims do not condemn the actions of the 0.1% of their kind AND in fact ride on the achievement of the 0.1% to advance the cause of Islam and dominate their society.

To the peaceful 99.9% they only lack the gut to slaughter, bomb and kill as evil is a necessary part of Islamic evangelism.

Answers to your four questions:

[1] 2Peter 2:4 the CHAINS in that context means they are restricted from mixing with other loyal angels!

[2] They are spirit beings like Satan, when God declared judgment on Adam and Eve, Satan was never told that he will die that day which means Satan's destroyer will come in the future {Genesis 3:15} so they are living beings unlike Adam and Eve who are dead and all their descendants along with them! Genesis 3:19 compare to Romans 5:12

[3]They are here on this planet roving about on the earth, they are the powers behind witchcraft and black magic throughout the world, but they've been barred from mixing with other loyal angels! Deuteronomy 18:10-11

[4]No it's about what really happened but the terms used are symbolic that's why we need to understand otherwise we will misinterpret it and their will be nothing to show for our faith! Daniel 12:10
In other words, Jude 1:6 is SYMBOLIC.

Now i know you're just trying to be heady! grin

I quoted that to help you reason that the dead will continue sleeping in their graves until the time of resurrection, that is what Martha and all those standing there believes! Job 14:13-15

So when Jesus said those who believe in him if they die they will rise (because he will resurrect them) but all those living (as in those having faith that happens to be alive when Jesus come to resurrect the dead) will never taste death at all, rather they will continue to grow young again if they're old! Job 33:25

Just humble yourself and learn there's no need to be heady about this, i was a Muslim and a soldier before i humbly requested for a home Bible study with JWs (free) i never know how to quote the scriptures until they began praying with me, today you'll think the whole Bible is in my head but it's the work of the active force of their God (Holy Spirit)

But the helper, the holy spirit, which the Father will send in my name, that one will teach you all things and bring back to your minds all the things I told you! John 14:26

May you have PEACE! smiley
With due respect Mr Maximus, you are the one who is being heady because the scripture is not about sleeping (death) but of LIVING

You need help to reason that the dead will continue sleeping in their graves LIVING until the time of resurrection, ! Job 14:13-15.
That is why Jesus explicitly says that those who believe in Him WILL NEVER DIE
Christianity Etc › Re: Does Hell Exist? by TenQ: 7:41am On Nov 15, 2021
MaxInDHouse:
How did Christ refer to those who weren't his followers:

Jesus said to him: “Keep following me, and let the dead bury their dead.” Matthew 8:22

As for those following Jesus he said:

Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life; and everyone who is living and exercises faith in me will never die at all. Do you believe this?” She said to him: “Yes, Lord, I have believed that you are the Christ, the Son of God, the one coming into the world.” John 11:23-27

Did Jesus' disciples died? YES all of them but according to Jesus they are not dead because their names is in God's memory but as for those who are not Jesus' followers even though they are walking around they are dead!

That's why Jesus said:

And do not become fearful of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, fear him who can destroy both soul and body in Ge·henʹna! Matthew 10:28

The soul in this context doesn't mean everyone but those having faith as their names are written in God's memory but as for those without faith God has forgotten them in their graves at death! Psalms 9:17

So the dead in union with Christ are Jesus' dead followers who will be resurrected not those who are living because Jesus substantiate in his words to Martha that those who are living among his followers will never taste death at all when the trumpet sounds! smiley
Even though you dodged answering questions about tense of simple English language in the last post, you bring another scripture. I will oblige you

John 11:23-27
Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life; and everyone who is living and exercises faith in me will never die at all. Do you believe this?” She said to him: “Yes, Lord, I have believed that you are the Christ, the Son of God, the one coming into the world.”

What does the highlight in red mean?

1. Marther said:
I know that Lazarus will rise on the last day
2. I am the Resurrection and Life
3. Anyone who has faith in me and dies will rise again
4. Anyone who is living and has faith in me will never die

Was Jesus refering to the day of Resurrection with respect to LIFE?

Certainly not, because
1. Marther already concluded that at resurrection Lazarus will rise from the dead
2. Jesus is referring to physical death and spiritual death
i. Anyone who has faith in Christ and physically dies will rise again
ii. Anyone who has faith in Christ and is still alive will NEVER die

What does Jesus mean by "Anyone who has faith in Christ and is still alive will NEVER die"!?

2. Are those Angels dead (like Sodom and Gomorrah citizens) ?
3. If they are not dead, where are they?
4. Is Jude 6 just another parable?

The dead will remain dead in their graves until they're called:

because the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first. Afterward we the living who are surviving will, together with them, be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we will always be with the Lord! 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

You mean that means Christ is in the Grave!?

Even though this is speaking about physical resurrection, "the dead who are (present continuous tense) in union (not in memory book) with Christ". Note that the scripture did NOT say..."the dead who WERE (past tense) in Union with Christ..."

Resurrection imply the recombination of the physical body with the soul/spirit of man who are in union with Christ!

The angels committed sexual immorality with female humans {Genesis 6:1-2} after God destroyed that generation with flood the angels dropped their materialised bodies and went back to heaven but God didn't allow them back in the midst of his loyal spirit sons {1Peter 3:19-20} so the chains and darkness means they're no longer able to return to their position. For instance when a human is kept in chains and darkness we know that he can't mingle with free humans that's the import of what you're reading, those angels no longer know what God is planning or the future of mankind therefore they're worried and looking for God's people to whom God will reveal the sacred secrets! 1Peter 1:12

So when you hear people agitating about what the JWs are saying about the endtime or date God is coming to destroy the wicked, know today that it's not those people that are really interested in whatever JWs are saying because they already thought we are nonentities, rather it's those fallen angels they are worshiping that's instigating them to come and agitate why JWs have refused to the them the exact day of judgment! smiley

Jude 1:6 is a symbolic expression of what happened to the Angels that left their abode?

All faithful servants of God believe that they will remain in their graves until they're called back to life {Job 14:13-15} Jesus himself said a time is coming when all those in the grave will hear his voice and come out {John 5:28-29 Paul also confirmed that there is going to be a resurrection! Act 24:15
So if i die today i'm not going anywhere but wait in my grave to be called back to life just as Jesus called Lazarus! John 11:44
As for Paul who said he will be with the Lord that's totally a different topic entirely but i will not leave you in the dark on that.
Jesus' kingdom supposed to be established in Jerusalem {Isaiah 2:3} so that's where all prophets of ancient times believe that they will be with the Christ {Act 1:6} but Jerusalem has been polluted with the blood of many prophets of God and finally Jesus Christ was persecuted, accused, arraigned, charged, judged, sentenced and executed in Jerusalem, that's why Jesus foretold that Jerusalem can no longer receive such a glory {Matthew 23:37-38} this made his disciples devastated and totally confused, the question now is "where are they going to stay to rule the earth with the Christ?" that's why Jesus made the popular statement found at John 14:1-4
This limited number of co-rulers {Luke 12:32} are the ones going to anywhere Jesus goes not all faithful people {Revelations 14:4} the rest will enjoy everlasting life here on planet earth.
So Jesus made a distinction when he said some will be in heaven {Matthew 5:3} while the rest will inherit the earth! Matthew 5:5
I belong to the other sheep Jesus talked about {John 10:16} so my place is not heaven but earth! Psalms 37:9-11, 29
I think the scriptures quoted is clear enough
At my death, I am with the Lord as other saints of God!

MaxInDHouse:
Earth is where God designed for mankind but heaven is for spirit life not physical {Psalms 115:16} so all those who lived until John the baptist can't go to heaven because the initiation of co-rulers with Christ has not been done {Matthew 11:11} it was established at Pentecost so the counting began from the first 11 Apostles of Christ who will be the foundation of that arrangement {Matthew 19:28} their names were written on the foundation stones of God's kingdom in heaven! Revelations 21:14
So from Abel to John the baptist are not going to heaven rather their own share is everlasting life on planet earth!

Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are still sleeping in their graves until now!
What Jesus meant here is that God has written their names in the list of those who will be resurrected, Apostle Paul under inspiration listed their names and called them Witnesses whose names is already in God's memory book! Hebrews 11:4-32
Many other faithful ones will join them and we will welcome them back to life here on earth because it's Christians that will be resurrected first so that the last faithful person to die will be the first to be resurrected! Matthew 19:30

May you have PEACE! smiley
You mix up Heaven and Paradise.
At death, before Resurrection the physically dead righteous ones stay with the Lord
At resurrection, there is a new heaven and a new earth. The new earth is the Paradise of God)
Revelation 2:7
7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

I believe our discussion is not about the Paradise of God (which is after resurrection) but the state of the dead BEFORE the resurrection.
This is what Paul refers to as : "Home with the LORD"

And the angels who did not keep their original position but forsook their own proper dwelling place, he has reserved with eternal bonds in dense darkness for the judgment of the great day. In the same manner, Sodʹom and Go·morʹrah and the cities around them also gave themselves over to gross sexual immorality and pursued unnatural fleshly desires; they are placed before us as a warning example by undergoing the judicial punishment of everlasting fire.
Jude 1:6-7

What exactly do you mean? smiley
Is Jude1:6 a literal event? Did it happen exactly as stated or it is symbolic?
And the angels who did not keep their original position but forsook their own proper dwelling place, he has reserved with eternal bonds in dense darkness for the judgment of the great day.

You're getting it wrong here my friend!
Sadducees believe in reincarnation and they got the idea after their stay in Babylon for decades.
Resurrection is the only hope for our dead love ones, they're dead and nothing survives them, they don't have souls or spirits that survives their bodies, it's the active force from God that keeps our breath and at death that power actuating our body system returns to God! Psalms 104:29; 146:4; Ecclesiastes 12:7
So the only hope of seeing the dead again is a RESURRECTION the Sadducees don't believe this rather they believe in REINCARNATION.

That is why they are different from the Pharisees because even though the Pharisees join forces with the Sadducees to kill Jesus and keep persecuting Jesus' disciples they believe in the resurrection of the dead:

Now Paul, knowing that the one part was made up of Sadducees but the other of Pharisees, cried out in the Sanʹhe·drin: “Men, brothers, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees. Over the hope of the resurrection of the dead I am being judged.” Because he said this, a dissension arose between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was split.  For the Sadducees say that there is neither resurrection nor angel nor spirit, but the Pharisees accept them all. Act 23:6-8
The Bible Specifically spoke of the Sadducees about
The Sadducees do NOT believe in Resurrection
The Sadducees do NOT believe in spirits
The Sadducees do NOT believe in Angels
From non biblical sources
The Sadducees believe in the following
--There is no fate.
--God does not commit evil
--Man has free will; "man has the free choice of good or evil".
--The soul is not immortal; there is no afterlife.
--There are no rewards or penalties after death.

As per REINCARNATION, there is no evidence whatsoever that the Sadducees believed in Reincarnation

BUT, lets leave reincarnation out of the discussion because there is no scripture to back it up

MaxInDHouse:
I am one of JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES we strongly believe in the resurrection of the dead it's you guys that are saying twisted things thinking you have something to do with God's word when in actual fact you are far away from the knowledge of God.

If i should ask you questions using the scriptures now the same way i did back then before i converted from Islam to JW you will end up saying "i don't know" because you don't have the accurate knowledge of God's word unlike the JWs who answered all my questions satisfactorily using the Bible!

If you're saying the dead are alive somewhere please can you present a scripture to support that?
Any scripture i present, wont you say its a parable?
2Cor 5:8
8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Is the grave the home of Christ?

Phil 1:23
23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far;

Why isn't this scripture say "to depart and be in the grave"?

So, Maximus, when you die and leave this world, where will you be? (in the grave or with Christ?)
MaxInDHouse:
Remember Abel was murdered, Enoch was taken, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, Elijah all died and buried.
So when you say Jesus' statement regarding Abraham, Isaac and Jacob should be taken literally and Jesus himself said no man has gone to heaven {John 3:13} then where are they if not dead in their graves awaiting resurrection? John 5:28-29; Act 24:15 smiley
Where is heaven?
Is heaven so small it can only be the throne room of God?
John 14:2
2 In My Father’s house are many [a]mansions; if it were not so, [b]I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Is it impossible for there to exist a place for the dead (SHEOL) where righteous souls like Abraham, Isaac, Moses, Paul, Peter etc are?
MaxInDHouse:
Let me answer first then you can also present your own answer and compare to mine.

Jesus said Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are living to God because their names has been written in God's memory book for a remembrance of them so during the resurrection Abraham Isaac and Jacob surely will be resurrected! Revelations 20:15
But all those having nothing to do with God will be forgotten in their graves {Psalms 9:17} so they will remain dead forever, that's what the Bible calls "eternal punishment" or "lake of fire" the punishment we're all experiencing now is death due to Adamic sin but it's temporary since we have the hope of resurrection but as for evildoers their own punishment will be permanent!

Now explain what Jesus meant when he said Abraham Isaac and Jacob are living before God yet he said no man has gone to heaven. smiley
Abraham Isaac and Jacob are living because they are NOT dead as God is not he God of the dead but of the living. Only their bodies are dead and probably long buried, but their real essence is living (Soul/Spirit).

Ecclesiastes 12:7-9
7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Eccl specifically says where the righteous go at death (its not just memory or memory book as you have described it)
They are like Angels who though have no physical bodies are Living Beings

My guy it's symbolic terms!
The same angels the Bible said were kept in chains and thrown into darkness are moving freely about the earth {Job 1:6-7} and working with magicians, sorcerers, wizards, witches and so on. They're the spirits behind false religions binding people with spells and possessing people.
Have you read where Jesus is casting out demons from people? It's these same angels that he was casting out so how are they in chains or darkness if it's not symbolic terms that you need to understand? undecided

If you're interested in knowing the meaning of this symbolic terms we will help you, one of my brothers is also here with you so this is not the time for blind arguments but to know the sacred secrets! smiley
Jude1:6 is symbolic but Jude1:7 is literal!?

DappaD:
Okay you agreed that Sodom and Gomorrah do not continue to exist since Jude 7 said they underwent eternal punishment. But the same lingo is used at Matthew 25:46, so who’s telling you the people mentioned in that verse will continue to exist?

P.S. I just joined the thread, I haven’t been here before.
ANd a proper understanding of Jude will require that you understand what befell the angels who left their abode

1. What does eternal chain mean in Jude6?
2. Are those Angels dead (like Sodom and Gomorrah citizens) ?
3. If they are not dead, where are they?
4. Is Jude 6 just a parable?

Again, this all boils down go whether you believe Jesus Christ is the Truth of God, or not. kiss
The words of Christ states plainly that men can only kill the BODY and not the Soul and Spirit of another man
Only God can kill the BODY and thereafter still deal with the Soul/Spirit of a man

Any doctrine that suggests that man can also kill (cause to cease existing) the Soul and Spirit of a man is not Scriptural.
The implication is that at death, the spirit and soul of a person are intact and are with God.
