PoliticsRe: BREAKING: We Didn’t Transmit Results Electronically – INEC Chair by TGM2015: 12:55pm On Jul 17, 2019
elldeb101:
It is either you have choose to purposely not understand my explanation or you have no ideal what I was Trying to explain. I will do you the honour of trying to explain again without insulting you. Card readers uses sim cards which can be used to access the internet. Card readers were loaded with data for each polling unit, a reason they could not be used in another polling unit so that they can verify voters within that unit (locally) without the need for internet connection. This will also reduce the amount of time and traffic congestion that would have occurred if done centrally. After conclusion of counting by presiding officers, they can then connect to the internet and send their result to a receiving central server (PO were given username and password to do this) which was meant to collate the result from all units. Now it is possible that some units could not send their results due to network challenges or other reasons which accounted for the variation in the server result and actual physical result. If you still do not understand, then I give up on you.
Let us be clear here. The smart card reader transmit some data to the central server, no dispute. Please clarify from your post the exact data that was transmitted by INEC smart card readers. Choose one
A. Data of details of accredited voters.
B. Data of details of numbers of votes casted.
C. Data of details of party that voters voted for.
D. A and B only.
E. A and C only.
F. B and C only.
G. A, B and C.

you are wrong. accreditation of details of users were done locally (without internet) within the card reader. That was while card readers were not interchangeable in polling units. Results can then be sent to a central server requiring a network access.
Card readers are not using Internet right? Continue in stupidity and proving your technology naivety online. I will leave you with the question of whether a POS needs Internet or not, at least, that is the "most closest" example I can think of.
PoliticsRe: BREAKING: We Didn’t Transmit Results Electronically – INEC Chair by TGM2015: 9:01pm On Jul 16, 2019
elldeb101:
story.....Common sense in IT should tell us that the use of card reader (which was made mandatory) required a central server where data was stored and retrieved to verify voters details. IF a server was not used, where then was the card reader accessing their data from? Except he is saying that it was not used to send results..which is also a lie because most PO / APO claimed to have been given a username and password which was used to send the result from their polling units to headquarters electronically.
It would have been better if he just said the result on the server was not used because it was inconsistent or any other lie..not this one he is saying.
And common sense didn't tell "them" that the card reader only transmitted accredited voters details and not details of votes casted.

There was a server and that server holds information of accredited voters but Atiku's server that holds information on details of votes casted and candidates that was voted for is non-existing. That is the common sense that Atiku, PDP and all their supporters did not have.

Nigerian should be VERY grateful to God for not allowing Atiku to win because I have been wondering on how someone with no generally available "common sense" will rule a complex and complicated country like Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: Obasanjo's Open Letter To Buhari, 2019 (Full Text) by TGM2015:
Nothing in there incriminating Buhari. Obasanjo letter was summarized in four listing points.

To be explicit and without equivocation, Mr. President and General, I am deeply worried about four avoidable calamities:

1. abandoning Nigeria into the hands of criminals who are all being suspected, rightly or wrongly, as Fulanis and terrorists of Boko Haram type;

2. spontaneous or planned reprisal attacks against Fulanis which may inadvertently or advertently mushroom into pogrom or Rwanda-type genocide that we did not believe could happen and yet it happened.

3. similar attacks against any other tribe or ethnic group anywhere in the country initiated by rumours, fears, intimidation and revenge capable of leading to pogrom;

4. violent uprising beginning from one section of the country and spreading quickly to other areas and leading to dismemberment of the country.
1. Majority of Nigerians assumed all crimes are done by Fulanis, which may be wrong or right anyway.
2. This wrong assumption may led to attacks on Fulanis.
3. The attacks may extend to other ethnic groups based on the wrong assumptions.
4. All these may quickly lead to war and break aways.

The Genesis of all the wrong assumptions are from fake news (see paragraph two). As the President is from the Fulanis tribes, his silent and mismanagement of the crisis that was ASSUMED to be penetrated by his tribe has fuel the belief that he supported those criminal elements whose operations are similar to Boko Haram.

“In fact, all the letters written by General Obasanjo to all Military Heads of State and Presidents of the Federal Republic of Nigeria are not guided by patriotic considerations.”

They should be charged to court and sentence to death in line with Nigeria law.

RomanceRe: I Don't Want To Marry Her. Should I Reject The Job? by TGM2015: 6:25pm On Jul 14, 2019
Ramanto:
I'm not convinced I can marry her but her mum is getting me a job now. Should I decline the offer please? I seriously need your contributions. I need the job, but I don't want to be indebted to the family
Simple things. Communicate and discuss your stand with her that the current relationship will not lead to marriage because of A and B and C. If she is sober enough to change, then go ahead and marry her because there is no perfect human being on earth.

On the job, don't reject it accept it but make sure you communicate and discuss your stand with her immediately. If her mother did not frustrate your chances of getting the job, be good to the family and appreciate them. But if they frustrated your chances you will either lose the job or get the job, either way, you would not be indebted to them.

But first, discuss your dislike with her with the intention to build and transform her to the person you want. Her reaction will determine your next step but remember that change and transformation happens over time and can take months and years. One behavior at a time, don't expect her to change or drop all the noticed negative behaviors once.

Good luck to you.

Good day nairalanders, ( pls ignore my errors, I am not good in typing ) I had a baby with one lady from rivers state(ex girlfriend) and I am from imo state, the baby turns out to be a boy he is 2 years old now. The lady lived with me during her pregnancy and also Gave birth under my roof.. 9months after giving birth, we started having issue. Based on am not well to do.. Cause my hustle ain't paying off. She left the house with my son. Later on she and her family found a man who has been married for so long but no child.. But the man is very wealthy and well to do in the society, the man is also from their town in rivers state ,she agreed to be the second wife so he can claim the child.

on hearing this I rejected it and met with her family so they can release my son to me and she can go ahead and marry whom ever she likes.. To my greatest suprise they all decline to my request but gave her full support that she should go ahead quoting me that in their tradition "any man that marries a lady that is with a child the child automatically answers the man's name"

With this statement it got me sad, angry cause I love my son with all my heart I don't want another man to father him.. Every month I Normally send her 15k for keep up my son... She ain't satisfied.. That am too poor for her liking... How do I take her to court the only documents I have here.. Is my sons birth certificate, his pictures with me. And all the receipt of the money I normally sent to her monthly... Pls I seriously need advice or suggestions. Thank you
Please save your monthly 15k for 2 years, file a court case for custody and request a DNA test for evidence of paternity.
Forget tradition when you have the law of the land on your side. But while filling a case look for court with high integrity judge and never file your case in Rivers state or any state that the man influential.

Why did Jonathan not start the implementation? Jonathan as a president had absolute majority support of the NASS, the implementation would have been easier and fast tracked with the backing of the NASS.

And I am sure he did forget that 2014 CONFAB resolutions can not been implemented without the NASS as critical and most important resolutions of 2014 CONFAB will require amendments of Nigeria Constitution and relevant laws. So, the calls for consideration and implementation should be directed to NASS and state assemblies.

RemiTinubu:
Before you accuse or believe that story, remember Neymer's case

Had it been that the innocent guy has no evidence by now the world will be tearing him limb for limb
his club would have sacked him and all endorsement destroyed.

Yes you heard me right
All these would have happened without proper investigation and done out of emotions and sentiments because the world frowns at rape (including me) and sometimes take actions on the accused without investigation due to gender ish.

Nowadays desperate ladies capitalize on that to pull down any man they feel like and the world won't even ask questions and just destroy the accuser without proper investigation.

I use to join the band wagon until Neymer's case showed me how wicked some ladies can be
who would ever think that such innocent looking latino will ever accuse neymer falsely.

The world have started believing her story till neymer luckily presented a solid proof to end the allegations.
ask yourself this question.

Neymer went free because he gat some evidence to prove his innocence.
What about numerous guys in the same situation that gat nothing to back up their claims?

I rest my case here.

Please I'm not defending COZA Pastor, infact i don't like that guy but let's be logical in our reasoning SOMETIMES.
Not when over 30 victims accused him of raped. Mind you, the case was known to the family and senior members of the church then. Busola only made it public when she was publicly accused of being a slut, having a child out of wedlock, and questioning the paternity of her child. The accuser based his/her accusations on her relationship with the COZA Pastor when she was in her teenage years. Good thing was that she did not hide this very incident to her husband before they got marriage.

Personally, I have had news of this very Pastor many years ago on the same raping and luring young girls to have sex with them. And with many known social handles testifying against the same Pastor on the same rape thing, I doubt the man is innocent. My only fears is the judiciary, they should find a court that the judge is an advocate against sexual abuse.

Don't excuse wrongdoing.

The sexual offences bill is the law governing this case.

And the law is clear...

(4)A person who commits an offence of defilement with a child between the age of sixteen and eighteen years old is liable upon conviction to imprisonment for life - Section 7 (1-4) of the Sexual offences Bill (SOB) 2013

If it happens to your relation , you won't be this flippant.

Good afternoon to you....
Don't be emotional.

If it happens to me or my relations. I can only use the law in aspect of his profession and report him to his religious affiliation. I am telling you that if he get a good lawyer of the law, he will win the case hands down with the new "National Youth Policy".

My response has always to clarify your insinuation that I am supporting this shameful act. None of my replies suggested that I am supporting the teacher and the student. I think I have made a lot of clarification on that but you failed to understand what law and court represent. Why going through a case that you know you can easily loose with other prevailing laws?

I appreciate your thoughts and stand but I WILL not further give response to your replies on this topic. Thank you.

Good morning.
I am not excusing the Teacher neither was I supporting the decision of the girl to marry her Home Tutor. What I am pointing out here is the Consent and new minor age in the eye of the law.

An action maybe morally wrong, ethically unacceptable and religiously abominable but still legally (lawfully) right.

And the criminal code age was based on what law? Now a 16 even 15 years old can be admitted into Higher institutions. I am very sure you read the news of overall best students that was denied admission based on age in past few years. That the criminal law has not been reviewed does not void that the review of the source document where the section that related age where derived.

The only exception here is if the Nigeria Constitution specifically spell out that below 18 years are minor or if you can specifically name the institution that is Constitutionally empowered to determine age grades in Nigeria.

This is because she is presumed not to have the right frame of mind to even understand what consent is talk more of giving it. HE IS GUILTY OF RAPE.
Check out the the new age limit in the attached picture.
Update yourself on new age limits in Nigeria. 15 years is no longer a minor in Nigeria.

The only thing that is wrong here is that professionally it is very very wrong. The teacher should be punished under the professional code of conduct.

EducationRe: How I Almost Ruined My Life Academically!!! by TGM2015:
ityP:
2014, I got admitted to study Medical Lab Science with connections from the provost of Federal Med lab school and many well known lecturers in the university even though my waec and jamb were excellent (2 As, 5 B3, 1 C4 and a score of 246 in Jamb).

I don't even know who or what was directly involved. . But when I started, I was very unmotivated. I really can't tell why. Maybe wrong associations, maybe cos it wasn't medicine, I don't know.

After the first semester of 100 level, I left the university. One of the lecturers who aided my admission begged me to rescind my decision or at least to defer it. In her exact words, 'I'd regret my decision'. Still I left without deferring.

My widowed mum was terribly heart broken. I was hers and my late dad's pride. I was the most intelligent of her three kids. I remember telling her that 'School na scam, if I do business, I go make am quicker'. She always told me and my siblings that we weren't cut out for business life. Still I ventured into photography. Spent 6 months in training to become a pro photographer. In 2015, I bought my own Nikon D3200 camera and a second hand hp laptop. I started meager jobs. I was earning small cash here and there. To be a top photographer tho, I needed equipments; a good Speedlite, good zoom and prime lenses, not my ordinary 18-55mm kit lens, soft boxes, and so on. And these would cost money. Money I didn't have. My camera and laptop were the only thing I could afford then.

Few months later, I started regreting my decision of leaving school. I would see my former coursemates in town and they'd ask questions on why I left, but I really couldn't provide any tangible reason for leaving. One even showed me some of my first semester grades and I was almost in tears 'cause I did very well. I was almost getting depressed late 2015. 2016 came and it started just as dull. But just before the closing date for Jamb registration was due, I bought a form. Same course (Medical Laboratory Science), same university. This time around, I would do everything low key without asking for anyone's assistance. I wrote jamb and got a score of 259. I checked on jamb portal when admission status began to be checked and lo and behold, I was admitted. I called my mom and even though she was happy for me, she told me, she wasn't gonna sponsor my admission this time. I was heartbroken but I can't blame her to be very honest. But then, we started hearing news that our admission would be cancelled because of accreditation issues. In fact, our names weren't included in the school's admission portal. School started and still, no news. But I was convinced God was giving me a second chance, so I started attending lectures even though we didn't know our fate. Two weeks before exams, our accreditation issues were resolved and our names finally appeared on the school's portal. Medical lab sci, biochem, and slt had this problem. So two weeks was added for us to receive short additional lectures, while others were writing exams. That was how my second chance began.

I'm presently in 300 level. Today, my former coursemates would be inducted as MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTISTS. I couldn't sleep at all. I would not go to the induction as I may not be able to control the tears. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN AMONG THE INDUCTING STUDENTS, BUT I THREW IT ALL AWAY. The most painful words anyone can utter in life are, "HAD I KNOWN". Don't make costly mistakes that would make you say these words!!!
You may never know how those experiences and skills will help you move faster in life above your so called classmates that are being inducted. Be happy with them and rejoice. Hold on to that skill you may need it in your service and post-service years.

Never regret your decision in acquiring lifelong skills, even if you are not practicing the profession, the experience will help you without knowing in your medical career. It is called transfer knowledge, you might even be surprise that the experience has been useful for your success academically. You have a more brighter future.

Take the lesson, never make decisions in a hurry most especially when you have no supporting views or you have better alternative than can reduce any unforseen negative effects of your decision.

I just remember a banker. He was what I can call "jamajama MC" before he joined one of the Nigerian banks as entry level. He continued doing his MC at weekends while working with the bank until one department (HR to be specific) organised an event and they cannot find professional MC that will accept their budgeted amount. This led to searching good but low end MC, one of the department team members suggested him, he was called and he accepted lesser amount than budget. Unknowing to him, the CEO/MD, all Executive Directors, GMs, etc are to be present at the event. That is how he became recognized in the bank and his "side work" becomes officially recognized. Although he blew up the opportunity because he put more emphasis on monetary rewards than opportunities it will afford him, and also became proud, he was eventually dis-recognised.

I plead with not to discard the skills but continue to improve on it by being up to date and practicing it through volunteering work to friends, family, colleagues, church/mosque, etc or less paid functions.
