TV/MoviesRe: Bbnaija Vs 2019 Presidential Elections: See How Nigerians Voted by TGM2015: 9:51am On Oct 07, 2019
goshen26:
I think we should stop comparing nonsense...

2. E-voting versus paper voting...
Let Nigeria govt liarse with mobile tel comm companies through registered Sim, where we use text to vote, and see if Nigerians will not vote enmass.

I did not cast a single vote for BBN, cos I can't waste my money for Mercy or any other, but let FG employ voting via text and see if we won't have 140million vote.
As good as the suggestions is, electronic voting through registered phone number is not ideal in Nigeria context. Apart from double vote and exploitation of unsuspecting Voters (using their mobile phone unaware), it will expose the identity of the voters and who they voted for. This is what Nigeria electoral law is protecting, hence, the only viable option we have now is electronic accreditation. Electronic voting can only be possible with visual gadgets (large/medium touch screen) place in a position where only the current voter can see the screen with a score board. When a voter votes, the score board shows an increase in vote counts and after voting, the Presiding Officer instruction the system to analyse the votes. The scoreboard then shows number of votes per political party displaying the highest vote first.

The second thing is to ask questions, is there any country using electronic voting? How was the voting process? Are all eligible citizens allow to votes or voting was done through a few selected representatives? Getting answers to this will give us insight on how possible an electronic voting can be actualised in Nigeria.

Hello everyone,
it's really my first time to ask for help here.

I will be 35 20 days from today and I intend to get married very soon, but after a bitter break up more than 1 year ago, I finally make up my mind to love again but I am caught up in between two lovely women.

Note: I am not dating any of this girls but they are my friends and wonderful people character wise.

I have known the first one since childhood, she has turn out to be an amazing young girl always supportive when I need her, living with her I know I will definitely be very happy in my marriage but she is less of a goal oriented person, which means I will have to work more, she is more of an extrovert also very loyal.

The second girl is very okay character wise, very submissive and is great goal getter, marrying her means I will do less for us to achieve our goals but she is more of an introvert, she is this kind of girl that can keep to her self, and she very loyal too

both of them outwardly does not carry the body I would like but inwardly they are amazing people. both of them support my vision in life so well.

Please marriage expert in the house help me, as I don't want to make mistake in my marriage. I am still praying but I feel I need to also find a way out.

which of this girls would you chose to marry and why?

matured advice are welcome.

thanks
Always choose happiness over success. Success without happiness is a failure. When you are happy, you are fulfilled, and will succeed with time.

that is additional N11,000 on every N100,000. So people who are earning N500k will now earn N555,000. And some of this civil servant earned close to N1m monthly salary.
PoliticsRe: Minimum Wage: Labour Rejects FG’s Latest Offer, Crisis Looms by TGM2015: 7:28am On Oct 03, 2019
Bluffly:
Many of you are just commenting without reasoning. Minimum wage of 30k isn't the issue but rather increase percentage for those already earning above 30k as it appears that is the real deal. Employees on level 6 aren't much as such but from 7 upwards the percentage increase appears unaffordable for FG and here is where the tussle is.
First sensible comment I can see. From the post, we have
” Organized labour has out of its patriotic disposition demonstrated a great deal of restraint, consideration and patience with government. In the course of negotiations for consequential salary adjustment, organized labour had to moderate its initial position of having 66.6% upward salary adjustment for workers on salary grade level 07-17 by accepting an upward adjustment of 29% for officers on salary level 07-14 and 24% adjustment for officers on salary grade level 15 – 17.
So labour do not know that the purpose of fighting for minimum wage is solely for those that are less paid and not those who are well paid. Most importantly is the percentage rate of increasing those that are well pay must be determined by the ability of the employer to paid. Seriously, the initial and new rate proposed by the Labour is totally uncalled for, so somebody already N500k should now be earning N620k. And the same Labour know fully well that over 60% of the current national budget goes to salaries and allowance of their members. They want capital development and security, reduction of taxes but want the budget of salaries and wages to be close to 75% of the total budget.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Accept This Job Offer Or Continue Job Hunting??? by TGM2015: 4:21pm On Oct 02, 2019
Ghostty:
Hello All.

I have been visiting this site as a guest for 2years, but today I had to sign up as a member. I do not intend to write so much, so permit me to go straight to the point.

I graduated in 2017 from one of the federal university in the South and finished my NYSC last year April. Ever since I have been hunting for jobs so to keep body and soul, I have written hundreds of job exams and attended several interviews but none has yielded any positive result yet.

Last month a friend of mine whose Uncle works in a Chinese Steel Production Company told me about an opening in the Marketing department of the company, he told me they were recruiting for the role of a Purchaser and a Sales Executive and advised that I should go submit my CV for consideration.

I did as advised and the following day I was called for a test. On getting there, I met three(3) other guys who also came for the same purpose. The Chinese HR guy came and administered the test and afterwards only two of us passed and were asked to come back the next day for the oral interview.

The next day I went for the interview and after being drilled and asked several questions I was offered the job. But my zeal and interest for the Job died the moment I was told the job conditions and pay.

Working hours are from 7am to 6pm daily, Monday to Saturday including public holidays. All these for a monthly pay of 35k

I was given the offer letter to take home to sign if I agree with the conditions and return it this coming Monday to resume work.

My fellow Nairalanders, would you advise that I take this job offer considering the conditions attached or reject it and continue job hunting hoping that one day favour would smile on mehuh I am confused, please help a brother cry

Please help a brother push this to FP so I can get all the advice I need as much as possible. Thank you.
First thing, what is your career path? Do care to become a marketer? Do you have the skills for marketing and can cope with the stress? You see, the first thing to consider is your skills and passion for the job.

On the monthly pay, it is nothing to worry about as your first official job. It will expose you to the marketing experience. In simple terms, you can accept with the notion that you receive stipend in order to gather experiences. One good thing about marketing is that you can easily get more better job, when you master the act and God favors you. You can use your marketing time to look for better job and attend interviews.

But if you have a totally different career path, please do not accept the offer.

Matured advice please.....

Ever since i was small my mum have always have this unpleasant smell.she baths often but this smell have choose to not go away, i heard she got an infection after a miscarriage because we do discuss it amongst ourselves,we her children. The smell comes from her private and i dont know if she is aware of it. She baths often but after sometime the smell starts again.

She came to my house for visit and i was embarrassed when my husband passed and was asking what was stinking up the kids room, i know it was my mum but i told him something else.

She is someone that always like tying wrapper without any under and you can imagine how it is.

I dont want to embarrass but i know it has always been an issue with my dad(they have seperate room coz of this).she get angry easy too but i really have to.

Ps she has treated infection often and on but this smell is what i dont understand.doctors should help too.
Why is it that the smell refuse to go away because she bathes morning and night(rule while growing up in our house)
Had miscarriage, please consult a doctor. The possible solution will be surgery. Mind you, she is aware of it but she does not know the solution. I am sure she will be happy to hear from you having a solution. But before you have a talk with her, consult a doctor and have idea of the cost involved.

New information as suffice that Buhari answer was actually correct as misinterpreted by many of us including myself.

I got to know about this from a twitter handle @jeffphillips1, he tweeted:

“Resilient future” is wholly talking about the climate, climate change and what the future looks lik

Will you delete? https:///Ypa1gMZGMR
And one Evans replied by paraphrasing the question for better understanding, he tweeted:
"President Buhari, Nigeria has a very young population, perhaps you might highlight what a pathway for a resilient future looks like" to me meant
Going forward, how does the country mitigate climate change putting in cognizance its largely young population

Anyway, all Nigerians must come together and fight for the realization of ALL refineries (public, private/mini) in Nigeria to be working at full capacity because the tendency of achieving lower cost of living and higher standards of living is very very high with refining locally.

Well I feel the policy is too harsh. The cashless thing and charges can apply to Withdrawals above 500k, even 200 or 300k. After all, Nigerians pay N65 on ATM withdrawals as low as 5k or 1k.

Enforcing same on deposits does more harm than good. How do you encourage cashless policy by charging people that are trying to convert their cash to digits?
Okay, I can understand the deposit part but I bet you if all trader people start adopting paying through POS, buyers will adjust. All they need is for their market leader to connect with one or two telecom companies for better internet connection.

Alternatively, they can register their business to enable them deposit above N500K. At least, all business with turnover of millions should register with the government.

msmon:
Whoever can buy a phone worth of 70k should have a bank account and should know how to transfer such amount of money.
Or alternatively, the seller should get a POS and encourage his/her customers to pay through it. Another benefit for genuine market people that this policy will affect is that the incident of fake notes, juju money, thief and robbery will reduced to the barest minimum. The issue of my sale girl/boy is stealing my money will be forgotten, many are the benefits for all, except the issue of compromise of passwords and pins on one's account.

What many do know is that this policy will affect Politicians, can reduce kidnapping/money laundering businesses.

What I am very sure was that Sanusi was technically sacked because he was hell bent to implement this Cashless Policy to the letter.

Delivering the judgment, the three-man tribunal, led by Justice D.D. Adeck, nullified elections in some polling units to declare Olujimi the authentic winner of the polls.
The Tribunal should have order for rerun as the difference is just approximately 2,700 votes except the total number of registered voters in the nullified polling units is less than the difference. Another thing is that, there is possibly of INEC nullifying some polling units earlier but declare winners because the total registered voters are not up to the margin of difference. In real sense, adding the already INEC nullified polling units with that of the Court, I have the feeling that the numbers will be more than 2,700 registered voters.

MicheyJ1:
Waiting for supreme to overturn it as usual with APC.
Forget as usual, if a judgement is not validly given or given without considering ALL relevant laws, it will be overturned. And I have the feeling that this judgment was pronounced wrongly, the Tribunal should have order rerun in the affected areas.
But wait ooooo, when Supreme Court overturn Tribunal and Appeal court's judgement that was initially in favour of APC, it was... What?

TheLawyer:
Where is your land located? Have you done survey? If you have, tell your lawyer or consult another surveyor that you want to apply for land information certificate. Also inform the surveyor that did your survey that you intend applying for land information certificate. I bet, it will begin to reveal if you were given a fake survey plan.

I had a client who i was applying for C of O for. I met the surveyor on the site so am quite aware that he took the coordinates. In no time we were given our survey plan. But the gbege started when we applied for Land Information Certificate. To cut the long story short, the beacon number that was allocated to us (our survey plan) was given to another person unknown to us. Thank God we applied for Land Information Certificate(LIC). At the office of the surveyor General, we were told they were yet to lodge the red copy. We asked the surveyor for proof of lodging the red copy. They posted us for months. After much threat to take action, one of them confided in me and told me that the beacon numbers on our survey plan has been used for another to avoid it expiring. So they had to prepare another survey plan for us.

Another funny part is that the so called surveyor that came to take the coordinates was not really a surveyor but a trained journalist (he told me this himself). So some quack surveyors are not really surveyors. they just learned how to do the job (I stand to be corrected). These are the ones that spoil the Survey profession.

For the stamp duty i think he wants you to perfect the deed which is what I explained in my post as CSR (Consent, Stamping & Registration). Before you can stamp, you will apply for consent and this will only be given if you had a previous title like C of O or a state or fed govt grant / allocation. If its a family land (omonile land) and its in lagos or Ogun, Consent will only be given by fully applying for C of O.
I hope that helps.

Alternatively, you can reach me through the number on my signature
Good day,

Please I need you to elaborate on the Stamp Duty things more, particularly as it relates to Ogun State and family selling to individuals.

1. Are there any documents that must be presented?
2. What are the procedures in applying for stamp duty?
3. The appropriate office to go, Federal or State Tax Office?
4. What will they be requesting for to stamp Deed of Assignment?
5. Will the stamp be on ONLY the original or it will include all copies?
6. It is save not to have sign the deed before taking it for stamping? Etc....

Please just give all that you know and advise, that you.

PoliticsRe: I Contemplated Suicide Because Osinbajo, Magu Were After Me – Former AGF, Adoke by TGM2015:
CallMeDrino:
A former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, has said that he considered suicide due to alleged persecution he was subjected to after he left office in 2015.

In his new book “Burden of Service” yet to be released, Adoke named Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu; and Senator Ali Ndume as some of his persecutors, Igbere TV reports.

Adoke said in the book obtained by newsmen: “I walked to the terrace of my rented semi-detached maisonette in The Hague, The Netherlands. I looked down. Plunging a few metres seemed to offer an instant relief instead of waiting endlessly for my vindication.

“I would become totally blank to shame and sorrow within seconds. I would never have to worry about the lies and the persecution again.

“My blood would be on the hands of those who hounded me to my death. They would live the rest of their lives with a bleeding conscience, assuming that they had any such thing. Death, rather than life, seemed very attractive to me now.”

He said he rescinded his decision and chose to write his story.

Adoke accused Magu of backstabbing him despite alleging contributing to his appointment as acting EFCC chair.

He also said: “I was told an influential governor from the North-West geopolitical zone once asked Magu why he was after me so vindictively.

“Magu reportedly confessed to him that it was the Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, that directed him to do so.

“He also advised the governor to tell me that I should go and sort out whatever issues I had with Osinbajo.”

https://punchng.com/i-contemplated-suicide-after-office-says-ex-agf-adoke/amp/
If his hand is clean with clear mind, he wouldn't think of suicide but how to use his last drop of blood to clear his name before leaving this wicked world. I assume he remembers the former CJN case, no matter how highly you are even as a judicial officer, you will be disgraced if your hands are not clean. Better to die than being disgrace internationally.

At the last two paragraphs, that is a very poor defense. Coloring the matter with politics to draw sympathy and cause political instability that may lead to yet another ethical wars is too low of him.

Olominira:
If this is true, Buhari is a wise leader. Many investors from SA and the rest of the world would see the maturity he's playing. The SA investments are mostly from the white SA community.

This move may likely increase their investment in Nigeria, because they could see the level of the maturity, not ego. Today, it's between SA and Nigeria, it might involve other countries in the future. How we solve it is very important because the world is watching. Besides Buhari is handling the situation very well compares to his SA counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa

I'm hopeful, SA understands that they generate a lot from tourism and violence wouldn't be the best option in solving whatever issues on ground. To be honest, SA have worst people leading the country or they just want the killings.
I never looked at that angle.

To those who believe the visit is wrong or show weakness or incompetence; Just imagine you have five children and you are told that thugs are beating two of them and have already killed one in nearby town where they live. What will be your reaction?

1. sit at home forming boss, sent the family of the thugs that lives in your street away, lock up your gate against them and be waiting for the parent of the thugs to come to your town possibly in villages square to apologise and beg you.

2. Immediately sent ahead of you, your own trusted people to intervene and rescue the two children, and make sure that you are fairly compensated for the killed child. Also, personally visit your children and family to commensurate with and meet the parents of the thugs to find and secure commitment that your remaining children live safely and peacefully.
Christianity EtcRe: Can Someone Be A Witch Without Being Aware? by TGM2015:
daddymummy:
I have seen instances when someone is being accused of being a witch, the person will sincerely deny being a witch.

But subsequent happenings will show he or she is the cause of some misfortunes although he or she may not seem to be aware.

Is it possible for somebody to spiritually ravage another person's life without being aware he is doing so.

Like say somebody in a family dies. In a church it is revealed that the man who causes the death is Mr A.

Mr A denies it and the denial is genuine denial.

A prayer is being said for the witch to die so that there will be no more death in the family.

Soon after the prayer, Mr A dies.

Is it possible that Mr A could have done wickedness against his family by using his spirit while his soul which has his mind is unawares.

As in, he is a witch without knowing.

This issue is more common nowadays.

Please if someone can explain this things to me, I will appreciate it.

Is there more to us than our conscious awareness?

Is there a dimension of us that is not known to us?

As is, can we be doing some things that are outside our conscious awareness.

Like i am here browsing discussing in nairaland with my conscious mind and awareness.
But in my other dimension,i am in USA helping someone to do something without being consciously aware.

In the case of a witch,he/she would be tormenting somebody in the other dimension without being consciously aware of what is going on.

Please and please, I will appreciate any genuine information on these things if you have one
You can not be witch, I mean what we know as real witch, without being aware of it. But when we talk about spiritual associations and affiliations, which may be evil or good one, that many young people may be a member without them being aware of it. This attachment or link may be due to the path ones parent walks while looking for a child or protecting the child from harm after birth, mostly those known family ailments/sickness or death. We also have situations where the person is not directly a member or affiliated to these spiritual associations but was being used as a channel to cause havoc to a family/person. This can be done in two ways, the person maybe possessed by a spirit sent by evil men/association (native doctors, a witch in his/her own capacity, etc) and then start doing things the way the spirit that possess him/her want till the spirit mission is completee. This may last weeks or years, depending to the extent of the mission. The second one is by direct spiritual instruction, this is done when the evil person/associated commands a person to complete a task using a mirror, water, small carved idols, etc.

From your narration, Mr. A may have been possessed by a spirit causing those misfortune to people around him. Offering prayers against the person responsible will affect the Innocent Mr. A but the spirit will not not be affected. It will just be a matter of time for the spirit to possess another person (Mr. B) to continue his evil mission expect he has completed his mission through Mr. A.

When you hear about deliverance, I mean genuine deliverance, they sent out the spirit out of the person body and forbid the spirit from possessing that body again.

Waste of money.

They travel in an unusual way, that is, locked themselves inside a Van. If it was an open van now, there is possibility of them not being arrest by the Police. Considering the current security situation in the country, their means of transportation is highly suspicious. The Police can argue that in court and the action was carried out in good faith and in accordance with their constitutional duties. On their motorcycle and other belongings not being released by the Police, the question is, do they present satisfactory proofs of ownership and the Police still hold on unto their motorcycles/belongings?

I just pity them, they are carried away by supports from one political party and ethnic group not knowing that those people have history of giving bad lucks to person/course of action they give their support to.

Good luck to them.

Thank you for this, providing the original version of the song. I am very much delighted.

But on my request, I actually watched the video, for the first time, on one of the national television in late 2001 or early 2002. The video track I was talking about was sang by up to 10 Nigeria Musicians representing major tribes in Nigeria (Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo). I am very sure of Pasuma, Sunny Neji, Christy Essen, etc. I think Chris Okotie is there too and I am very sure Sunny Okosuns was that takes the vocal lead. I just got to know why now. Thank you once again. I may take it from here and see if I can get that very video track I am talking about.

It is not all doom and gloom. This pessimistic view is not good for the industry. The OP failed to report the many successful daily transactions.

We are not there yet but surely on the way. Lets encourage ourselves please.
Thank you. The failure rate on Instant transfer to other bank is less than 2%, moreover, for a transaction to be successful the platform of the involved banks must be functional and the internet connectivity/service providers (in case of USSD) of the customer must also be reliable. For Every secured site, there is always enforcement of timeout limit, most financial timeout limit, is mostly in seconds. So even, when the bank platforms and service providers/internet connection are okay, the transaction may failed due to the timeout limit. Most timeout issues are related to the connection (internet / telecoms service) and platform (web browsers, app versions and phone/laptops) used by the customer.

Many people do not have updated bank apps or web browsers on their phones and personal computer systems (PCs) respectively. Also, some have low end phones and PCs, such that the device processing time takes longer than usual, very slow in completing basic terms. It is mischievous for the writer to attribute the failed rate of interbank transfer to only NIBSS, without recourse to other factors. Moreover, the writer does not justify his/her conclusions based on verifiable data/statistics. This will have allow us to determine the rate of failure on interbank transactions as we have millions of transactions per day done through NIBSS. Knowing the failure percentage rate will enable the reader to agree or disagree with the writer, is the rate significant or not, considering that no system is perfect without glitches.
