Olaoluwa122: Seriously? Is anyone still talking about Atiku? From Social Media to the streets, all I am hearing is PitObi or Asiwaju. This is like the first time in weeks that I have heard Atiku. |
guobe:Please tell your friend: He is foolish for wanting to control a Woman by not allowing Her earn. The quality of your family, life and that of your children will be worse than it could be. It is foolish to think in this day and age, you need money to make YOUR Woman regard you. Women are working more and making more money than in the days of our fathers and grand fathers. It will take more than money to hold a Woman down. As long as you are taking care of your responsibilities as a Man, you can only be disregarded when you don’t regard yourself. And if it bothers you so much that your Wife is making more than you, why don’t you simply hustle to up your game and make much more. After all, you are the Man who can do better than any Woman. You do not elevate yourself by putting another person (especially your wife) down. If you don’t want your wife to earn, go and look for a young clueless 18+ year old in the village that doesn’t have a mind of their own. Good luck. |
Stop thinking about the costs and take your son to the a good hospital that will give Him care. Decide that if they don’t take your child you are not living there. Tell them you will pay but first let them start treating the child. There will be no better advise you will get here than putting your child in the hands of professional care. |
Pojomojo:My dream career before JS 3 was to go to space, so I guess astronaut. But once the educational system decided I was an arts student, that dream began to die. Before SS 1,If was talking with a friend I’d say advertising (I used to wonder how those ads were made, then I went to secondary school with a course mate, whose grand dad was The first indigenous managing director and chairman of Nigeria’s pioneer advertising agency, Lowe Lintas Limited and He used to tell us advertising stories) so maybe that influenced me But if you were an authority figure - like teacher or uncle- and you asked me, I would say “Lawyer”. I can’t say it’s because my Dad, who was already an accountant , also read Law and was called to Bar in my JS1. Otherwise, why didn’t I say accountant? Maybe cos I was not the most comfortable with Maths?? Anyway, by the time I was about to enter Uni, I wasn’t sure what I wanted. At some point if you asked me, I’d say sociology, I guess I made sense of it cos that’s what Unilag offered me. I ended up not going there. I even ended up reading English in LASU cos the school I applied to had been closed for over a year due to student activism and I was tired of waiting. But guess what? right in the middle of my second semester in LASU, on a day that I had been chosen to lead a class group assignment, I learnt I had to depart almost a thousand kilometers northward to zaria. I ended up getting an LL.B from ABU Zaria, and a BL from the Nigerian Law School. And many years after, Yes, I am a Lawyer, but it’s only about 10% of what I do, and what brings in the dough. At some point in my career , I even worked in a top advertising firm too Law was a very good foundation though. P.S. Nigeria did not happen to you. All over the world there are people not doing what they dreamt to do. It is not only a Nigerian reality, it is wholly a Human reality. Life never truly follows a straight line. As a wiseman once said; “Life is lived forward but understood backwards” . You are right where you need to be, you just need clarity, to truly see. Where you are coming from, will always be a foundation. Where you are going to is more about the journey than the destination. Your life is still going on; there’s still room for growth and innovation. Selah. |
chypotenti:I would say “none of the above” cos the money is too small. Barely enough to transport one to and from work. Except you are just going for experience. In which case I’ll say go for the Fintech, more opportunity (for growth) more flexibility (less rules and regulations to conform to, less grunt work, more open to remote work , less straight jacketed, less jackets, more jeans & t-shirts. You get? ) . Fintech is the future; even the banks are moving towards and investing in fintech. Thus in the future, even if you decide to work in a bank, Fintech experience will give you an edge. If nothing else, the 50k Fintech job will mean more transport money and less transporting |
ogbiwa:This Indian rape disease is still alive and well. Even a Woman is organizing for another Woman to be raped. If only those things unsuspecting Women knew. So sad. |
adewaleadeyemi8:That’s fair enough. All the best! |
lavylilly:*Telling people to register for a free service but asking them to input their payment card details, first. *Using filters to enhance our looks on social media, to give impressions to fake friends and total strangers online. *Agreeing that we have read and understood terms and conditions , by clicking “Yes”. Even when we didn’t read a single line. *The Nigerian Constitution *Fuel Subsidy *The formal Educational system *Pyramid schemes *”Privacy” on the internet ; there’s no such thing. |
Most brides? Do you have data to back your claim that it is “most brides”? If no! You might want to use “some brides”, instead; to avoid the fallacy of hasty generalizations or exaggeration. |
emmyluizzz:Why are you pained by His assertion? |
gnykelly:Doesn’t the 24 hour rule on Porn, given to Facebook and Twitter, apply to Nairaland ![]() |
adewaleadeyemi8:You are you maintaining your V shape & “six pack”? Try not to demand for what you are not ready to give. Especially from someone whose chances have been impacted by things like child birth. |
God1000:No need for the judgement as in “serves him right”. We don’t know if that is the only reason He married His wife. And While physical Attractiveness to and sexual compatibility with ones partner is not the main thing, it has been proven to improve the health of marital relationships. |
What really is your problem? That She is sharing messages from another church on Her phone? Or that She is sharing any church message at all? You left the message that was being preached in church and busy bodied into someone’s privacy so much that you could see exactly what she was doing on Her private phone. You are so self righteous that the only part that moved you about the sermon was when it came to correcting someone. And you did such a poor job of it that your act , rather than reconcile Her to truth stirred up anger. Yet you can’t see that it is your distracted, unfocused , busy bodying, judge mental and provocative self that has the real problem. Remember: first remove the log from your eyes before attempting to remove a spec from another. From Gods perspective our problems should always be bigger in our eyes than that of another. And that is how you learn to love, which is the beginning and end of the Law. Learn how to love. Start by loving yourself. So that you stop allowing other people’s lives affect you so negatively |
Danibonk:Kano is the second largest state in Nigeria after Lagos. And has consistently returned the highest tally of voters in all elections in the country. |
A popular Man of God , with access to WhatsApp , email mass and social media, who claims to be in contact with God is sooo worried about losing His contacts ![]() |
Olarhhh:This is an issue to address with your husband not your in laws, lest you become the evil Wife. Couples, especially young couples need to have their privacy without the external pressure from family and in-laws. For now, until She eventually leaves your house, you need to find a way to not let it affect you mentally. |
TMSMedia:As a former Mischievous secondary school student. I can tell you that secondary school students are some of the fastest runners. Especially for a poorly paid, unfit and possibly intoxicated police officer carrying a rifle. |
eddie7:Very good. Rubber stamp Joker of a senate president, who really believed He could buy His way to the Presidency with money. LMAO. He should go and enjoy His trophy wife that He married to consolidate power , clown. |
YorubaIsGreat:Which south-south leaders? Okowa is a leader from the South-South, is he pledging support for Tinubu? I am from the South-South; any so called leader ,who without my permission, pledges on my behalf ( especially for Tinubu or Atiku), is not my leader. |
Rosenews2233:To be a living kidney donor, you must be of good physical and mental health. You would typically be between the ages of 18 and 60 years. Ekweremadu and His Wife are in deep shit. |
lorbah001:The boy has been saved. He may even be given asylum. |
Rosenews2233:To be a living kidney donor, you must be of good physical and mental health. You would typically be between the ages of 18 and 60 years. Ekweremadu and His Wife are in deep shit. |
IyaTola:If He resides in alimosho, the answer is obvious. Except he likes to get inadequate sleep , wake up at 4:30-5am to join the rat race to third mainland bridge and another 2 hours Back to the mainland. Not to talk of the transport costs at a modest 1000 per day= 5k per week , that is 20k per month on transport, when Alimosho can be as low as 2k. Costs of eating out is higher in Ikoyi. Maybe there is something in Ikoyi I am not seeing, but He’ll be so much more burnt out if He does that; that He will really need the HMO. Is it worth it? That’s the question that He alone ultimately has to answer. |
Nozino:Speak for yourself, self loathing and biased blackman. What about white pedophiles, serial killers , and cult leaders? is there nothing fundamentally wrong with them? If what you say is true, then There’s something fundamentally wrong with you. |
DriverX:How do you know? You think everyone thinks like you? |
Thank God She didn’t agree for that Man child. How childish can an adult be. You are married yet still petty 7 years after. She doesn’t reply and you assume attitude. You don’t even know if the person is dealing with stuff. These are the kind of idiots that give Men a bad name. I would have called Him a goat but I don’t like insulting people. |
IyaTola:Ok. There are no merits or demerits, per say. It all depends on the individual their preferences and peculiar circumstances. For me, some things I hate about the island these days though are: *Its getting more and more crowded than when we were growing up *Traffic not only because of the crowd of residents but for the many visitors who come there for work and play *Fake life; many pretentious people, living in poor overpriced accommodation, just to be able to say they live on the island. *The water especially in Lekki axis has smell and taste, and you have to spend money on drinking and bathing water. I can’t even use my filter for it. *Flooding during the rainy seasons and it is no respecter of locations as floods regularly hit Lekki, Ikoyi, VGC, VI and even banana island. And it’s not surprising because a lot of the island is sand filled land. Where I live on the mainland it can rain for a whole month and there will still be no flooding. The ground is high, the are wide drainages and the entire suburb is surrounded by a canal where all the water drains *Related to the above, I suspect that there will be a major flooding or tsunami event, sometime in the near or far future and places like the island, which have been massively sand filled will be worst hit. As far back as the early nineties I remember an over flowing of bar beach that covered Ahamadu Bello Way and got as far as 1004. *I also personally like where I live and work on the mainland cos I am 15 minutes from the local and international airports as well as Lagos Ibadan on the very rare occasion that I need to head out by road. I hope with this few points of mine, I have been able to convince you why, I a former islander chose to become a full time mainlander. ![]() Please Note: what works for me may not work for you. |
Frigga13:I schooled in the North, have a lot of northern friends there. There is a lot I understand. Sounds more like you have nothing to write in response to my questions. Thank you. |
Frigga13:The only part of your post I don’t get is “Power to the People North 2023” The same North whose leaders have disempowered their people? The same North with the highest number of poverty stricken people? The same North with the highest percentage of illiterate people? The same North that has led the country to its worst economic state since the early 1980s? The same north through which the security of the country has degenerated to near Syrian and Afghanistan levels? Surely, you must be referring to another North, like Northern Ireland or the one in Game of thrones . SMH |
IyaTola:Is there anything in my post implying that there is any difference? If anything , I am saying exposure can be gotten on both the island and the mainland. |
If any of these two guys win, they will be the lap dogs of the West, meaning we MAY become like sitting ducks. |
