This is bad, why not just refund the excess. Someone that you've gained so much money from, you decided to dupe. If I were the doctor, I will make sure I press charges and see that she spends at least 6months in jail

An average Nigerian guy won't refund the money too. Majority of Nigerians see wrongly credited money as a blessing from God. Most of the guys insulting her will do same if mistakenly credited excess money.
You were making sense not until you mentioned “guys”.

That's the problem with you feminists, you just cannot see the wrong from a non-gender view. This is 2020. Change.

TravelRe: My Experience At A Restaurant In Canada by TheManOfTheYear:
Stormyweather:
my lecturer shared a similar experience. They just moved to Canada and Needed to get a washing machine urgently, they found one that the price was really higher than their budget but felt they could beat it down. They Approached the young couple selling it and after bargaining, they paid and went to look for a truck to bring it Home. When they got Home, the wife opened the washing machine and saw an envelope with more than thrice the money they paid, there was a small Note there that read "we love your family and hope you settle in Soon, please do reach out if you need any assistance.". That was really touching. This happened over 10 years ago.
Maaaaaad oooh.
In Nigeria they will even bill you more the instance they notice you're foreigners.

So my wife and I took a few days off. It's pre thanksgiving and we decided to have lunch at a restaurant. We went with our 11 month old baby and sat beside a couple that were wrapping up their own lunch. They admired our beautiful baby and gave the usual compliments - "oh she's so cute", "How old is she" etc.
They left before us and when we concluded, asked for the bill. We received the shock of our lives when the waiter told us the couple had paid for our lunch, that they liked our baby. We were so surprised and didn't even have the opportunity to say thank you to them. These guys are super nice here and we indeed feel very grateful. Happy thanksgiving to all Canadians.
My love for Canada. Say a word of prayer for me. I'm wanna come to Canada.

Long story

Was offered a job abroad , work permit and accommodation I had to make some down payments for all . Was alot of 7 figures

Smh I just tire bro

Hit me so hard financially.. I believed I was relocating to start a new job... Based on international work resources grin

Sold off my assets , gave alot of stuff out like.santa claus

Liquidated everything I owned

Put off my.wedding to my fiancee all in excitement grin

She warned me and I shouted her down telling her how this was for us and how she didn't want me to go to the next level

I accused her of being selfish and just wanted us to do a wedding when she knew I needed to send money abroad to this company to finish processing

So I put everything into this, allmy savings , our combined funds, wedding money, sold my car , I was believed I was making initial mortgage payments on a home grin

And paying for fast tracked working permit and all grin

Look I don't want to remember all this

Omo I nearly commited suicide

She broke up with me after it turned to be a scam we did get back together briefly after some months but it was never the same and we ended it

Life huh?
If you're being offered a job abroad, your employers should be the sponsor of everything.

Na you looseguard bros

With the little time I've been involved in this coding stuff I've come to realize that programming isn't about the languages. Learning any language is easy, trust me. I grabbed python in just 4 weeks. The hard part is problem-solving, which requires a lot of logical thinking and creativity.

Sure, why not?
What platforms do you use for the projects and problem solving skills.

Hi everyone,

I've spent a long time today going through this programming section looking for help.

I want to switch careers and get started in tech. I'm unashamedly making this change because I need a good level of financial stability.

I'm a freelance writer and a mom. I started learning python because all the articles I read recommended python for beginners. I lost motivation because I don't have anyone to talk to or coach me on this journey.

I have started again from scratch. I'm using a python book to learn. I prefer the read-a-book approach. What I want is people to talk to, so I don't feel lost and stop again. I want to gain this skill and actually earn from it.

So please, can someone mentor me? Thank you guys.
Why not start out with Sololearn app.
Very user friendly with an online community to help beginners like us learn and answer any questions.

Bro the part you said you were building a website got me. Most web developers mostly use frameworks for their projects and that makes sense. That's why I asked you what frameworks you've learnt . Except maybe you're using a CMS.

Tutorial haven lol. I'm very impatient and when I'm not seeing practical application of things I learn, I get disinterested pretty fast. I had to get so strict with myself to sit down and learn python basics because many devs on reddit advised to learn the basics thoroughly . I wanted to jump to projects and applications. grin

Now I'm done with python basics and I'm working on a web app with Django framework and also a data project for a chartered accountant relative, using pandas and tabula-py libraries.

So I had looked at HTML and CSS and they were pretty straightforward and easy. I didn't want to build a static website though because I needed to add some functionalities and also make it interactive.

So I moved to JS basics and found out it is the same pattern as python (arrays are lists, objects are dictionaries, functions are the same, etc), I got bored, that's why I'm moving faster so I can get to the actual application and functionality of the language because all that matters is the ability to utilize these technologies to solve real life problems and boost your portfolio, so no tutorial haven my guy grin.

Sure why not? I've got a couple of ideas I can't wait to start working on. cool
I'm a beginner like you. But I feel you're “rush learning”... Try to master one language firstly before heading to the next.

Consistency breeds mastery.

Lol bro for you to be asking me DID you learn any framework, most probably you're caught up in tutorial haven. Also for you to be saying you started python in September and now u are ZOOMING past JavaScript. Its not about learning my man, its about implementation.
To answer your question, no. I am currently with a self taught programmer who started in 2017 and is currently earning almost 400k monthly and he is the one who advised me against the whole speed learning pit most beginners tend to fall in, so I back-tracked and took it slow. I am very happy with the results.
You seem like a serious chap though. We could hook up and work on a project together in a month or so.. What do you say?

BusinessRe: Crowd Forces Port-Harcourt Mall To Shut Gate by TheManOfTheYear:
Just yesterday which happened to be Christmas day, I said lemme stroll to SPAR in Surulere just along Adeniran Ogunsanya to get something, I was shocked beyond words, I got there only to see crowd of people who apparently were shut out of the mall.

Most happened to be window shoppers, in groups of friends, some even wearing that annoying Balenciaga hoodie with green knicker undecided looking like traffic light.

I said OK no problem, lemme go to Shoprite which happened to be just nearby, that was even worse, the crowd was bigger than the late Reinhard Bonnke's crusade. Everywhere was stuffy. Choi, I no go ever try go out on Christmas day again. angry

I'm currently using Dell Inspiron 3558. It's good enough for it. I'm considering switching to Linux now tho. Main reason I want that particular laptop is portability, extended battery options and backlight keyboard.
The backlight keyboard is one key feature meeehn.

CrimeRe: Man Drowns While Swimming In Sapele River (Disturbing Photos) by TheManOfTheYear: 10:18pm On Dec 05, 2019
If you're a non indigene, stay clear of any river in a village/community.

These water gods have covenant with the indigenes through blood sacrifices made by their forefathers.
So why would you who came from outside expect to be covered?

This life is beyond what we see, there's more to life.
CrimeRe: Man Drowns While Swimming In Sapele River (Disturbing Photos) by TheManOfTheYear: 10:02pm On Dec 05, 2019
OoniOfIfe:
Anybody can get drown in a river whether u kno how to swim or not. But d difference between who knows how to swim nd who doesn't know is that d chances of who knows how to swim 2 get drown is low. Many thing can lead 2 someone gettin drown in a river, it may be sudden tiredness that may weaken him to swim, sudden over flow of d river nd off course marine attack. Marine attack happens when d water spirit is angry, hungry or upset. In most cases it's better to swim in a river that is in ur village/community cos most river don't drown an indigene of d place they are, eg Otalu river in Ekwulobia doesn't drown someone from Ula, Sango River does same even Ekosodin River doesn't drown an Ekosodin indigene. In some place in bayelsa when a child is born nd d paternity of d baby is in question, if they want to ascertain if d child father is 4rm their place or a non indegene d baby is put in a river nd if d river doesnt drown it they will that d baby is their own. Rip man
You just said it all.
Well said.
