nijabazaar: seunlayi:If what you guys are saying is true...then Gionee deserves to fail...and to fail utterly. You want to be an international company, and you are putting all your eggs in one basket? ie one country.? See SAMSUNG...tentacles in Asia, Africa, Europe and the USA....so that if one arm falls, another takes its place. |
It is really sad that in Nigeria we cannot control pipeline vandalisim. We ought to improve enforcement. |
Rayreezy:If you have 20k to spare every month, Spectranet unlimited is the plan for thee. |
helinues:Pogba is good....he was fantastic at Juve. Somehow he has not been able to replicate his form at Juve at Man U...AND that boils down to the quality of players at United |
The reason why we don't see changes in human rights in this country is politics. Back when Obj was in power, we all cried about Odi and Zaki Biam....because we felt it would make it easier to get rid of PDP. Same for GEJ and the North East, when many of the same abuses that were happening now were happening back then...and people played politics. Now it is Bubu's time, and most of the people crying are doing so because ....politics, politics, politics. Only very few people in Nigeria care about human rights for human rights sake. The rest do so because it helps their agenda. I guess we need to keep advocacy for human rights separate from politics. Because if we use the whole 'Bubu is evil because he shoots IPOB and Shiites' to get bubu out of power and tomorrow things don't change....who then will fight for us. Honestly, Nigerians need to change. |
hulk616:Indeed, how can they expect us to make bricks without cement? |
Among the detained suspects are nine Egyptians, seven Nigerians, four Gambians, three Moroccans, two Guinea nationals with others from Senegal, Algeria and Tunisia.Africa Unite.... sigh. |
FarahAideed: baliyubla:@POLITICSNGR President Muhammadu Buhari has described the killing of former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh (rtd) as “very sad and unfortunate.” The President commiserates with the family of the late four-star general, his friends and professional colleagues in the military, and the people and government of Adamawa State. Noting that the late Badeh, who was also a former Chief of Air Staff, attained professional fulfilment in his over three decades military career, President Buhari regrets that he fell victim to incidence of violent and fatal attacks on the nation’s highways. PoliticsNGR learnt that the President has directed security agencies to find the killers of the 15th Chief of Defence Staff and bring them to face the full force of the law, while ensuring greater security and safety for all users of the country’s roads. The President prays that God Almighty comforts all those who mourn Air Chief Marshal Badeh and grant his soul peaceful rest. https://www.nairaland.com/4913571/president-buhari-reacts-alex-badehs |
So the man's family fled abroad..... OK now. |
namio10:Yes, because oil has been so low since he took over, while our needs have been high. We need oil to be at $140 per barrel. Bubu met it at $75, then it went down to$30 then up to $80 now back to$60 Of course, loans HAD to be taken.....or things would have been much worse. |
ELTON123:Who is Jubrin, is he your imaginary friend? You should look for help. Imaginary friends at adulthood isn't funny. |
iaamxavier:Oil is at $57 as at yesterday, Our breakeven is $140 per barrel. We need oil to be at $140 to have a balanced budget WITHOUT borrowing. Mind you, if PDP was in power right now, I would be making the same argument. Either we take the hard path of becoming an induistrial nation which means more years of hardship before things get better...or we keep up the illusion of being a rich nation...while oil stays low. |
Ibramamahi:Our breakeven oil price is $140 Oil is $57 as at yesterday,, and has never been above $80 since Bubu took over. Of course....we had to take loans. |
Earthbound:But vote for the right people to adequately fund the Police, una no go do. You will even defend the evil politicians who steal. But pay the taxes needed to adequately fund the police, you won't do....instead you expect miracles from falling oil money. Police is bad....but until Nigerians start supporting good governance, and expecting better from themselves and their leaders....things won't get better. |
Vello:Good evening. I am going to report you to the mods. I was not rude to you, I did not insult you, but you insulted me. Be more respectful. Good evening. Don't respond to me again. |
Jonathan:Nigeria First.! |
chigoizie7:I am a doctor. I have worked in several hospitals over the years, including one hospital which had financial issues because people won't pay their bills, another hospital where patient left with a debt running into thousands of naira that up till today has not been paid, and so on I have, and no I am not boasting...paid for patients out of my salary. Of course, i don;t do that...it impacted on my pocket seriously. I also don't wait foralert before treating patients. But the thing is, if patients don't pay on time, hospitals won't be able to function well enough, retain staff, and keep facilities up properly. And when standards fall, patients get hurt. So, sorry, but there is another side to this story. The funding side. (And yes, this also happens in developed countries. One homeless man in the USA used to get free treatment in a US hospital's emergency room. Then they stopped...because doing such..treating poor people like him.... left the hospital with a debt of $250million). Health is not cheap. |
JuanDeDios:I know... But I have worked in hospitals where doctors start treatment without payment...and then the patient absconds, and the hospital is left holding the debt. And at the end of the day, it is choice between being heartless...or staying financially solvent to pay the bills, salaries, maintain standards. The problem with Nigerians is that they want free stuff. Well....the thing is, there is no free stuff. Money has to be paid.Somehow. Maybe we need a National Health Service, like the UK. Until the bill comes in.... |
Jonathan:No, I am not going for APC or PDP either. I amgoing, as I have always gone...for a thrid party. And the truth is, both APC or PDP have failed us. Up till now...our economy is so oil dependent, our power supply is weak, and we are not ready to take the economic decisions that, though initially harsh, might benefit us in the long run. And why should I choose between APC and PDP that has an APC man in charge...that was singing the praises of APC yesterday, now PDP today... Abeg...Sai Nigeria. Atiku nor Buhari, nor any of their predecessors are my masters. I am for Nigeria. I am for my countrymen. And it is sad that in 2019...my countrymen and women won't make a choice to end this PDP APC charade. Sai Nigeria! |
Olodo24:Yes, so we should treat EVERYONE for free.....and at the end of the day, when quality of care suffers and private hospitals are forced to close because you know....no money anymore.... And who tald you we never save ANY soul? Sigh. |
Abyberry:So, where will hospitals get the money to pay for materials to treat patients? Do you know how many hospitals have been left hanging by patients who don't pay bills? Eventually, quality of servie falls because of debts owed...and you people will still complain. Yes, doctors are bad...but the system isn't fair either. |
okrikaboi:All I will say to this is... When hospitals have been left hanging after patients have not paid their bills, and flee...leading to hospital not being able to meet its financial obligaitons, which affects service to patients who do pay their bills.... Heartlessness is in order. Sorry, but for once, try to see things from the other side. Hospitals need money to pay for stuff. Sometimes, it comes from the salaries of medical staff paying for 'indigent patients'. |
shukuokukobambi:Well, the tracks were completed by PDP...and there was a test ride (working from memory). As for the rest... But a copy of Mr. Amaechi’s speech sent to PREMIUM TIMES showed that Mr. Jonathan’s contribution to the project was acknowledged.Sauce |
CilicMarin:Kperoogi was no friend of PDP either when they were in power.... |
ArmedRobber:PDP did initiate, and complete the Kaduna-Abuja rail project...which had its first test run in the last few months of the GEJ regime. Modified APC and PDP fans...I am not part of your battle please.! ![]() Anyway....PDP and APC played their part...see my quote downline. |
johnsurvive:There are many parts of the North too that have bad light. The problem is transmission...Maiduguri just got its transmission issues ironed out...some other areas don;t. Fixing the entire transmission system (run by govt through TCN)...IS going to cost trillions of naira. |
My late maternal grandad had a well in his compound. No child under the age of 13 was allowed near that well without supervision. The well was always locked when not in use. And it had a parapet...which was taller than normal even. Safety first. |
Skirmishes:Well...a few minutes reseaech yieleded the following... 1.Several firms have bid for Yola DISCO according to Premium times , 12 of them even 2.Actual bidding/sale kicks off in 2019 January....according to ThisDay So, we can agree that it is 1.Not in Atiku's hands yet 2.YEDC is still'government property' BPE's website did not have info on the owners , nor was there any info indicating YEDC had already been sold. Same for NCP. |
Kenekingisback:Which is possible if NNPC buys fuel stations, and also IF...I said if...they get innovative |
Skirmishes:Googled it. As at July, YEDC was being planned to be sold...but it seems they don;t have a buyer yet. |
TheGreenLand:Better we have more than 2 parties...because variety is good for our democracy. |
