Angelfrost:Lol, they are not my people o. I can never imagine myself in that group. Thoughtless bunch. Though even DSTV will feel the impact cos it will chase the price sensitive users to the lower grade bouquets thereby reducing their revenue. |
FuckThaMod:Tribalist, viciously anti-Messi and perpetually angry in almost all of your posts. Hmm, I can now connect the dots. Bros, life isn't that hard o, make you no go kill yourself before time. A little positivism isn't bad. |
privaldo:It's like many people don't understand that this proposal is not a direct tax on dstv as a company but rather on Subscribers to the dstv premium bouquet. Pls read the piece very well. It's like a luxury tax that will be borne directly by the user when he subscribes to premium bouquet. The likely implication is that many dstv users will simply avoid premium bouquet subscription, resulting in less revenue for DSTV and less direct tax for the same Government. A very useless initiative in my humble opinion. |
Beverlyjean:Mama, I'm surprised o. No fangs to sink into Messi as usual today? ![]() |
Goalnaldo:Goalnaldo, abeg I no get your time today. GOAT no dey do roforofo with ewu wannabes. |
Absolute balderdash from Jorge Jesus. Messi is as passionate for football as ever. The fact that he doesn't express much emotion like Maradona and Cristiano does not mean he doesn't love the game with his heart. Messi that is reputed to always want to play even when he is not fully fit. He is reserved doesn't mean he doesn't have passion Olodo Jorge. And passion does not even determine greatness. Steven Gerard is probably the most passionate EPL player ever but is not regarded as good as a less passionate Thierry Henry. So I don't know what this Portuguese imp is trying to achieve with the unintelligent comparison. |
Being the greatest goes beyond being nominated for Grammy awards. Although it is a significant statistical factor, it cannot be the only criteria as it only implies that Burna boy's songs have a higher international appeal than Wizkid's and Davido's. If Burna wins the Grammy, then he may have a case. In terms of overall musical brand appeal, massiveness of fanbase and sheer superstar celebrity aura, Burna is still below Wizkid and Davido at the moment. If he keeps up his current trend for a few more years however, he will likely overtake both. However, the truth is Bboy is a bit difficult to like when compared to the ease of fans' attraction to the other two. |
sholay2011:Amen. Though I initially thought you were referring to Pele the great footballer. The prayer is still in order regardless. |
Noooooo! Haa! El Diego, arguably the greatest footballer of all time. No other footballer wore a heart of courage and passion for football more than the Don himself. I can't believe El Pibe De Oro (the golden foot) is no more. My cheat player for old all-star team in Ps1 and Ps2. The man with a convoy of opposing players always running after him. Arguably the most technical player of all time. A massive pillar of my second beloved country Argentina is gone. The famous "Hand of God" is now in God's hands. Adieu and RIP to the great one |
LUGBE: |
LUGBE:Try to understand. Vicarious liability pertains to a situation where a principal or an employer is held liable for wrongdoing committed by his employee/agent in the course of their agreed duties. Gbaja is neither the principal nor the employer of the security aide that was merely assigned to him by virtue of his office. That's the role of the DSS, who pays the security aide from their budget funded by the FG. So vicarious liability in this instance can only apply to DSS and not Gbaja. If a car hire services driver kills someone while driving you somewhere, you would not be held responsible, the car hire company may be however on the principle of vicarious liability. Capische? |
Dijita:True. Maybe they wanted to seize the moment to cash in since Gbaja appeared vulnerable and accessible(not a bad thing for a Govt employee to be reachable). The thing is directing the suit at Femi alone will make them lose some goodwill as you've mentioned. In my opinion, any decent lawyer will get Femi off the hooks, as he does not control the aides terms of reference/code of conduct. I just hope that he will still be mature enough to render the help he already promised to the deceased's family irrespective of legal squabbles. |
Strictly speaking, N500million isn't too much to ask for to compensate for a human life lost through gross misconduct. However, it is not a realistic demand in Nigeria's context. The real question is about who should bear the cost. Is it Gbaja or the DSS? Can the idiotic operative be said to be under Gbaja's control or the DSS' duties at the time of the incidence? These are the questions the lawyers have to debate on. To illustrate better, if an uber driver or a driver for a car hire company, hits a pedestrian to death in the course of driving you to your destination which you are paying for, is it you, the driver or Uber/Car hire company that is liable to be held responsible? I am sure no nairalander will accept responsibility for the death. I think the matter will be settled out of court eventually maybe at about N20 - 40million in 9ja style. |
Big congratulations to Ngozi Okonjo Iweala in advance. Na Trump wan pour sand for her garri due to her close association with Democrats. Good one for Nigeria. |
kingreign:Thanks, I saw in one of your previous posts that you said you were a Ford car expert. I have some electrical issues with my ford edge and the technician/Rewire quoted the following spare parts prices (first grade tokunbo) for me which I wanted to confirm from you whether they were reasonable. Alternator -40k Fan sensor - 15k Fan belt - 5k Thanks in advance! |
GEEBITE:You are actually right, it was an afterthought. I sincerely wanted most people to view the post as objectively as they could due to the overwhelming political bias many nairalanders exhibit on issues like this which is largely responsible for the constant reduction of the collective average IQ of Nairaland unfortunately. |
Denrele had better grill his parents about a possible away match result! |
NellaObi:What I understood from your post was that even those living within Lagos will still have to pay before delivery. |
juseng:The pics of the driver in the 3rd photo shared on the front page does not look anything like the picture of the guy you shared. The dead driver looks like a middle-aged man as opposed to the youthful picture you posted. Pls check and confirm |
NellaObi:Why must you be paid first before delivering it? What is the guarantee that you wouldn't run away with the money? Avoid scamming! |
Well, the economic indices at the moment actually lend support to what the finance minister said. The main driver is that somehow and despite all the much publicized negatives, there are still a lot of ongoing economic activities that are stimulating spending (especially in the fmcg and IT/telecomms/fintech sectors). The implementation of the finance act 2020 should further strengthen this course by stimulating more spending within the economy e.g lower duties on cars, lower minimum tax rate, exemption of small companies from income tax and VAT. Also, more Nigerian diasporans are remitting monies to their people here in lieu of coming home for the holidays. So I am optimistic that we should indeed exit the recession statistically by first quarter in 2021. The big question now is the Nigerian riddle ie what goes up may never come down. I fear that even if the parameters such as transportation costs, forex and supply chain logistics improve, the current high price levels might never return to their pre-covid status. Note: I am not pro-any political party. |
It's like people don't understand that it's Coca-Cola/NBC that donated the funds to the hospitals. It has nothing to do with Government. It's also like the Yenefer moniker who has been in denial of the Lekki incidence does not know that this news compliments the CNN report about people being shot by Soldiers, as a number of the 185 beneficiaries were gunshot victims from the night of the Lekki-shooting. |
LAYCON omo ologo |
Congrats to Burna, Simi, Rema, Cuppy, Flavour & Don jazzy. But Master Kg from SA is the biggest winner here. That his Jerusalema song appears to be the biggest hit out of Africa for a long while. Has the highest number of YouTube views ever for a song by an African artist (230million views and still counting). The guy is the biggest artist in Africa right now. |
Is the citation on Netflix? |
1. Ronaldo De Lima - El fenomeno (nothing more to add) 2. Marco Van Basten - Greatest non-speedy number 9 striker ever. Won Ballon dor at least twice. 3. Gabriel Batistuta - Ronaldo de Lima's arch rival in the Serie A with Fiorentina. Baddest shooter with a rocket cannon shot. Only scorer of two hattricks in different world cups. Note, I've excluded some badass number nines of old which were probably better than some of the above listed guys. These are Ferenc Puskas, , Eusebio(black panther) & Gerd Muller. Why? 1985 is my cut off period. I don't also consider Romario as a number 9, else, he'll be second after Ronaldo. |

Georgia has fallen, I repeat Georgia has fallen! Charlie, Pennsylvania is next, do you copy All hail incoming President Biden. And goodbye to the obese turtle. |
In the wake of Donald Trump's recent allegations of the electoral process being fraudulent, after seeing his once sizeable margins in Pennysylvania and Georgia being almost wiped out as more mail-in votes are being counted, CNN presenter, Anderson Cooper has likened Trump to an obese turtle on his back flailing in the hot sun, realizing his time is over.

peacekante:I agree with you that De Lima is better and greater than Henry, however not in every way was he above. Henry was a better passer/playmaker and had more speed than R9. I may also say Henry had better juggling and volley technique than de Lima. I think prime Henry (2002-2006) was slightly better than post-2002 R9. However Pre-1999 monstrous R9 was well a cut above prime Henry |
obonujoker:Whenever, Eto wins a world cup, a confederations cup (as player of the tournament), an Euro cup, enters another world cup final, comes 2nd in World player of the year 2 times, and wins the top Leagues' player of the season three times, then you can say his career matches that of Henry. You thinks say na beans to be ranked the EPL's greatest player ever? |
obonujoker: Because he is Messi, Mr. Jokerman, like Pele is Pele and Maradona is El Diego. If you re expecting me to be writing thesis again in response to your question, you go wait tire ![]() |
