Men, I came late to this party. BBC has a reasonable basis for its list. All pained cr7 fans should go and take it out on their buckets. The fact is there is no football body, agency or journalist that would not ultimately rank Messi higher than CR7. Secondly, I saw at least three different videos of the shooting, and it was obvious that the soldiers mainly shot upwards in those few minutes. However I know that some bullets may come off laterally in the process of shooting upwards, and several shots were fired by at least three different soldiers for several minutes from the videos I saw. This means there's a greater likelihood of stray bullets or deviations from the directed trajectory of the bullets fired.

Thirdly, there was a video I saw, after the lights came on at the tollgate, where some of the protesters were throwing objects in the direction of the soldiers after the shooting. I saw about two bodies on the floor in that video.

Moreover, it is common sense that shooting continuously so close to such a large gathering of people will definitely result in some people being hit by stray bullets or whatever you call it. Videos of injured victims I saw bore testament to bullet wounds (e.g intestines ripped open)which required them to be taken to the hospital which the Governor himself confirmed. It isn't farfetched that if bullets hit some people, based on the principles of probability, some fatalities were likely.

So definitely, what I have deciphered is that there were some casualties from the lekki shooting, but they were not as much as being initially reported. To say that there were no casualties at all is to be on the same pedestal of those sharing fake news to incite violence against Government. Even if there were only 2 deaths and several injured, it is unacceptable and grossly evil to open fire in the general direction of armless peaceful protesters.

P.S: Note that all the videos I referred to were authentic videos that depicted the visuals and narrations as connecting to the lekkitollgate and the shooting incident.

In as much as I strongly condemn the unacceptable shooting of armless protesters by Govt soldiers at Lekki, I equally condemn the spread of fake news by emotional elements just to further incite violence against the Government and its establishments.

What then differentiates such protesters from the much vilified SARS in character?

It's not true that there were no gunshots. On Channels evening news yesterday, I watched the video where a security personnel shot and killed one of the prisoners who was caught up in between the barbed wires on the fence while trying to jump down.

It's difficult to obtain facts about the situation on ground when emotions are running high everyone seems to be about promoting an agenda that suits their personal sentiments.

Imho, the plausible scenario is that the jailbreak was initiated by hoodlums/protesters outside but aided and abetted by some prison officials or relative lack of adequate security resistance.

I don't think this is a realistic demand. It's common knowledge that Edo state rejected Buhari during the 2019 elections. So a renewed call for Buhari's resignation will be largely seen as a political agenda to oust a democratically elected president.

It's better for protesters to focus on achievable demands. Insist on sincere police reform implementation. Ask for better governance, greater accountability etc. Not Buhari must go. it will give the agitation a pdp coloration.

To be honest, the crude toutish way Edo protesters are going about the protest will likely sabotage the valiant efforts of other protesters across the country.

Oh dear, So long so good, here we are. It feels good to be a champion.

So they said this season did not have much content. Yet, right here on Nairaland, this season's thread reached 8,244 pages in 71 days. Last season that was supposedly more interesting only reached 6500 pages in 99 DAYS, despite being ONE MONTH longer than this season. Obviously, the gap in higher level of fans engagement in BBN lockdown is humongous. Much of the content was internally generated by the HMs. In Nigeria, I've noticed that we like to criticize without properly analyzing facts and information at our disposal.

In the end, it was a befitting end. Laycon's progressive triumphs has amplified the stark contrast of his victory over those utterly vile curses unleashed on him on that fateful night three weeks ago. Every ill-fated curse spewed from the altar of bitterness that night has been ripped apart by counter-active blessings that have since found Laycon irresistible. I can only imagine the extreme shame that the utterer of those invectives must have felt each time her curse came to pass on Laycon but in the other way round.
