I can't change my past but will endeavour to make things right this time around. Please I need your clear answer on this. Or please Can I talk to you on the phone? Bros, just go for BSc, draft your SOP well or get someone to do so for you. You’ll just need to explain the gap and why this would be beneficial to you and all that. Every other information on proof of funds and home ties you can get on this same thread. All the best. |

toyin03: Hi..
I've been following this page for some time and reading through. I applied for a post grad and I saw somewhere in this thread...can't remember the pg now that having a 2.1 and going for a post grad instead of Msc can be seen as a red flag.
Please, has anyone gotten a study permit having a 2.1? Or should I abort mission? I need clarity, biko! Nah I think it is if you have a Masters and then you want to go for PG that’s a red flag. But if it’s from BSc to PG, many people are doing that here. I spoke to a friend that just landed, he has a BSc and now going for a PG. I stand to be corrected though. |

Hello house,
How possible is it to get to the biometrics centre at the time you booked and be done ASAP? It will be difficult to get a lot of time off work because I already did for upfront medicals this week and took excuse for that.
I booked Wednesday next week for 1pm |

By Samlolly28: Hi guys, my application was denied about a month ago solely on the grounds of insufficient funds and financial assets. Before I got denied I ordered my gcms note which just arrived today. Through the help of show young and others that aired their opinions I saw exactly what I did wrong. My dad was my sponsor and the total money in the two bank accounts he presented was about 3 million short of what it needed to be. My mistake was thinking I could use his fixed deposit investment worth over 30 million as POF. I also didn't provide my bank statement I have been told this is not enough to lead to denial but if your application has some loopholes then not having at least some funds in your account raises a red flag for the visa officers.
Sadly I reapplied yesterday but what I did differently even before seeing the gcms notes was I allowed the investment mature and got a statement immediately the funds matured to capture the 30m from the fixed deposit in his bank account together with about 8m he had combined in his two bank accounts before. He also transferred 3.5m to my account which I presented a gift deed, bank statement and receipt to attest that the money was for my living expense for the first year in Canada. I made sure I explained the fixed deposit investment very well how my dad got the money and showed the investment certificates for all the months within the duration of bank statement I sent to the embassy unlike my first application I only submitted the investment certificate of the month before date I submitted.
Please guys let me know what you think. Hi so I noticed no one has responded but I’m an applicant like you with pretty much the same situation except that it’s my first time applying. From what people said, here’s what I did and if you can still do these, maybe give it a shot: I drafted a gift deed letter for my Dad which he signed and we notarized. In the letter, he was specific about what the money was for - we put Canadian equivalent everywhere 10k living expenses, 5k for travel ticket, application fees, etc to show he’s fully funding me and stated categorically that he has irrevocable claim to the gift deed he transferred - same for the fixed deposit. In the sponsorship letter, he stated how long he has been working and how he was able to amass that amount of savings for my education. He also specified that this money was set aside in FD for me and the capital never reduced because of this purpose. (I’m assuming it’s the same in your case). Then as you’ve done, added investment certificates possibly showing that these funds can be liquidated and made available instantly for you. And lastly, show his source of income and how he has other sources to fund the family. Attach maybe introduction letter, business documents, etc to this effect. Hoping we all get a favorable response speedily. Cheers! |

Swagskida: Good morning house I am new on this thread but have gotten through some people experience via reading on this thread i studied accounting with a CGPA of 3.90 and want to do my master in accounting since am familiar with the course and i dont know which school gives either partial funding/ Fully funded or better still which school has the cheapest tuition fee that i can apply to will be glad if anyone in the house can put me through this process hope to hear from anyone soon Look at schools that offer thesis based masters, check the department/faculty websites for funding opportunities and check for lecturers whose area of specialization you are interested in then shoot them a mail or go ahead to apply directly to the department but in most cases, it is advisable to get a supervisor to agree to fund/supervise you |

Teemenzo: Your SOP/LOE is your personal story, no limit to the number of pages. You can write half page or more pages, its your story. If you have health insurance running presently, it doesn't harm your application. Canada will know you are very concerned about your well being which could eve come in handy in getting favorable decision but its not a requirement. All the best Hi, Do I explain financials in SOP or I should do that in Proof of Funds section? Thanks |

Ketima: Hello,
Haven't heard of MBS for fixed deposits except the certificate that shows the details of fixed contract. So the certificate will suffix. Ok makes sense. I'll do this then. The money has been fixed since 2021 but moved to another bank this year cos of interest rate. It'll be a good point to state in the sponsorship letter that the money has been kept in FD for the purpose of my education yeah? Because ever since it has been fixed, only the interest has been withdrawn while the capital has been rolled over for like almost 9 months now. |

Kindly use MBS (MyBankStatement) Ok will do thanks. For my sponsor’s funds that’s in fixed deposit, should I just use the certificate alone or we should get MBS for that? |

Foladimejiw: She mentioned something like POF should not be in form of fixed deposits or fixed assets. The VO prefers cash that is accessible to fund your studies and bulk deposits into such account should be explained with proofs. Hi, Is this for NSE or the normal student visa application? I'm planning to submit an application but bulk of my POF is in my Dad's fixed deposit (25M) with his bank and he's been rolling over since February. Should he necessarily liquidate? Because he's liquidating one FD to send me a gift deed of 5M and presenting some other small accounts with liquid cash. Any inputs from anyone else reading this would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Hello house,
Is it advisable to put both my parents as sponsors? Although my Dad's account will be the one showing 99% of the funds available for study, including my accounts but they want to include my Mum's account and signatures on the sponsorship letter (they said that they heard some people's applications were rejected because both parents didn't concur to the child's travel or something like that.) By the way, I'm 24, Male, decent job as a Software Engineer.
Also, hope its not a red flag if my Dad isn't a salaried worker? He's a contractor but has like 74k fixed deposit to show for my living expenses and school fees (total $54k) with other bank accounts balance of like 40k excess. Although he has an introduction letter from an oil and gas firm showing expected renumerations and a hostel for rent. |

Please.
Thanks I stand to be corrected... ShowYoung: Without having seen your GCMS notes, I can see the exact reason why your application was refused; although GCMS notes is the best source. This is my thought and may be incorrect.
Required Expenses Tuition fee for 2 years $22,400. Living Expenses (2 years) $20,000. Miscellaneous Expenses $3000. TOTAL : $45,400. (#15,075,000 @$1/335)
Total Amount shown: Tuition Deposit $7000. (#2,345,000) Dad's Account #4,000,000 Dad's Account #5,000,000 TOTAL: #11,345,000. You may still need approximately #4,000,000 more.
Also, the onus is on you to convince VOs that your Dad has no responsibility on anyone else and that the funds are meant for you.
I strongly believe they wish to approve your visa; in your next application, if you are able to address the concerns raised with the financial analysis above, your visa application will be approved by God's grace. Hi ShowYoung, Pls is it a problem if my Dad is recently out of active service? He now consults but doesn't get paid instantly, can take like 6 months ish but he is sending 15k CAD to me and showing like 76k CAD in fixed deposit and maybe like 20k CAD in some other accounts and I also make roughly 2500CAD a month myself. This is after paying compulsory tution deposit of 2k CAD. This should fly right? With the right bank statements and expanations? My total tution and living expenses is like $54k Thanks |

Balina: Good day bosses,
Please I need a roadmap to follow for applying for study permit and CAQ. I am confused about the whole process. I have been offered admission by Concordia University and my program start date is 5th of sept. I know the next steps to take to complete my admission are;
1. Pay acceptance fee 2. Send my official transcript to the school 3. Apply for study permit and CAQ
I can get step 1 and 2 done easily, but for step 3, I only know the process for US. I have read through the first page, but it ended up confusing me more.
PLEASE house I need a guide or roadmap on the steps to take in order to apply for study permit and CAQ. Omoba95: Goodday Guys!! I am the one the Lord has shown mercy on this glorious day
Kindly join me in thanking the King of Kings & Lord of Lords who made today possible despite how I almost lost faith
With Jesus joy, I announce to that I have received my PPR!!!
Second time applicant
God is too faithful to leave us, just trust in him & you won’t regret it.
I join my faith with everyone still expecting & declare we shall all testify of God’s goodness soonest
(Ps: I had the above saved in my notes in faith before even getting PPR)
I also remember posting sometime in May about receiving PPR before the end of the month & nothing happened, little did I know God had other plans
PPR landed June 1st, 2022, however; I didn’t know about it till June 3rd, 2022.
Timeline below
First Application; Applied Nov 22nd, 2021 Upfront Medicals : April 3rd, 2021 Updated to pass: No idea (didn’t have access to my portal) Eligibility review: No idea (didn’t have access to my portal) Breakfast of life lol: March 23,2022
Reason for refusal: ‘I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, based on personal assets and financial assets’
I cried my eyes out & almost lost all hope, called my agent to ask for a way forward and if I should stop attending classes & defer the remaining semesters. The thought of the time, energy & money spent made the tears roll out well
P.s- I had resumed classes online (started January, 2022),it hasn’t been a funny situation especially with the time difference & economy issues but I thank God & I am currently in my second semester in centennial college. It’s a 2years program.
*Back to my timeline gist* After careful review of my previous application, it was spotted that my Dad’s account(my sponsor) had an explained lump sum of about 13m that entered at once. So we knew where to tackle while waiting for my GCMS notes.
Things I did differently; Gave a detailed LOE of the lump sum Printed a new bank statement, this time the opening balance covered the lump sum with more inflow compared to the last statement I paid my full tuition for the first year Got a notarized gift of deed of 5m in my personal account Submitted my first semester Academic transcript Added a lot of Prayers too (very important)
Second Application: Submitted April 10, 2022 Eligibility review started: May 11, 2022 PPR: June 1st, 2022
I have also booked for a new Medicals since the previous one has expired to avoid immigration stories/wahala, I was surprised I didn’t get a medical request with my second application.
The feeling has been surreal, patiently waiting for my passport because I don’t even know where to start from, any suggestions will be appreciated. Congratulations Chief. How many months bank statement did you use for your Dad’s statement of account? |

Thanks a lot, bless. What’s “mbs” by the way? And how far back should the statement of account be? A year? 6 months? 4 months? |

Teemenzo: Don't let him ytansfer it. Submit his financial details and show him as your sponsor, this takes away the rigour of explainig the guft deed. As those VOs might be nonchalant some times Oh alright then thanks a lot. I'll do that and add the document that shows the funds can be liquidated as needed if that's ok. |
