Hi Doc, its our baby oh! He suffers from incessant tummy ache which has been interpreted as Unbilical Cord pains. Ordinarily, its supposed to be controlled by Gripe Water but it's not helpful in his own case. Hot compresses don't help either. Not that its continuous but when it hits him its usually strong and takes away his sleep as well as mine. I thought it would stop at 3months but he's 4 now and it still hasn't stopped. Is it normal or do I need to have him examined? Thanks for being there. |

oluwawunmi:Dear Oluwawunmi, Am sorry Titilaelae is just another 'patient' like you on this thread. Am sure Dr. Kathyekiti will respond to you as soon as she comes by. Meanwhile, keep faith. God will perfect all that concerns you, and soonest am sure. Cheers |
naijaking1:Fashion Parade ke! Na who dey look me? I wouldn't mind an Aristo if I see one sha ![]() Thanks a bunch. On my doc's examination he also discovered the 'lumps' are normal tissues that will soon come together to produce milk for my expected baby. Accept my gratitude, brother. |
kathyekiti:Thanks you o, my sister. I'm beginning to suspect she's an agent of darkness wishing me dead! My doctor also shared your view (met him on Friday). He in fact said if a medical student is asked if while performing CS he/she discovers a growth (fibroid or whatever), will he/she cut it off? He said the student that says 'Yes' automatically fails that course! He explained further that the woman's womb is full of blood vesels and that utmost care must be taken in tampering with them otherwise the patient might die |
@itiade and Uteh, I've sent a mail to your boxes. Cheers. |
uteh:Thanks Uteh, I will mail you shortly. U can check ur box in a few hours. It's well with u. |
ifyalways:Really? Aren't you lucky? That must have been one of the attractions, shay I mean the fact that you share the same surname must have given the man an edge over your other toaters. I envy you oh |

When I got married I wondered if I had to change my signature to the one in which my new name would reflect but the stress I would go through with banking and stockbroking issues made me stick to my old signature. Now I wonder if I will forever sign my maiden name that does not look in any way like my current name. Did anyone in the forum ever change her signature and what were the challenges that came with it? Does it matter if one retains the old one for life? "Madams" in the house , pls lets discuss. |
This is a true and very moving story. How do things like this keep happening? please read on. A certain rich businessman had a beautiful daughter, who fell in love with a guy who was a cleaner. When the girl's father came to know about their love, he did not Like it at all, and so began to protest about it. Now it happened that the two lovers decided to leave their homes For a happy future. The girl's father started searching for the two Lovers but could not find them. At last, he accepted their love and asked them to come back home in A local newspaper. Her father said "If you both come back I will Allow you to marry the guy you love, I accept that you love each other Truly." So in this way, their love won and they returned home. The couple went to town to shop for the wedding dress. He was Dressed in white shirt that day. While he was crossing the road to the Other Side to get some drinks for his wife, a car came and hit him and he died On the spot. The girl lost her senses. It was only after sometimes that She recovered from her shock. The funeral and cremation was done the very Next day because he died horribly. Two nights later, the girl's mother had a dream in which she saw an Old lady. The old lady asked her mother to wash the blood stains of the Guy from her daughter's dress as soon as possible. But her mother Ignored the dream. The next night her father had the same dream, he also ignored it. Then when the girl had the same dream the next night, she woke up in Fear and told her mother about the dream. Her mother asked her to wash The Clothes which have blood stains immediately. She washed the stains but some remained. Next night she again had The same dream she again washed the stains but some still remained. Next night she again had the same dream and this time the old lady Gave her a last warning to wash the blood stain, or else something Terrible will happen. This time the girl tried her best to wash the Stains, And the clothes nearly tore, but some stains still remained. She was very tired. In the late evening the same day while she was alone at home, Someone knocked the door. When she opened the door she saw the same old Lady of her dream standing at her door. She got very scared and fainted. The old lady woke her up, and gave her a blue box, which shocked the girl. She asked "What is this, ?" And The old lady replied, NEW IMPROVED BLUE OMO Washing Powder, it will remove all stubborn stains!! !!!!!!!!!!!! !!!! !" , I understand how you are feeling now, But don't look at me like that!! , I'm also hunting for the CLOWN who sent this to me! Please go back to work, Sorry No Vex. |
Hi Doc Kathy, How's life with you? Am cool. Am in my 30th week now and a nurse friend asked me to tell my doc not to allow me to fall into labour when am due and that I should rather opt for CS so that the fibroids can be removed at the same time. Now my question is, the fibroids are quite big; will it be safe to remove them by that method? Also, the doctor I've been seeing initially advised me against surgical removal of the fibroid (saying conception chances are 50-50 afterwards) and urged me to go and get pregnant and that God willing he would manage it, this he has successfully done these past 30 weeks. Won't I be twisting his arms or teaching him his job if I bring up the suggestion? Now, friend, what's your take on this pls? Thanks a bunch. |
Hi Doctors in the house, I had excision in my left breast in 2003 and right one in 2006. Right now I am pregnant in my 3rd trimester and I suddenly detected pain in both breasts few days ago. Feeling them I noticed a hard portion in the right one and nothing significant in the left. I intend to complain to my doctor on my next clinic this weekend but I really want to know if it is safe for me to have an excision while pregnant. Also, could the pain be related to hormonal changes as a result of pregnancy? Am a little bit scared of another surgery on that part of my body (the breasts are quite small as they are and all these small-small cuts keep reducing them ). Besides, the last one left an ugly scar that I've not been able to get rid off. What can I do pls? |
, , sleep anyway that makes you comfortable. You always have to remember that your baby is in a sac of water. It acts as a shock absorber so don't worry, friendAbove was from Dr. kathyekiti and she sure is right. Anytime I 'mis-sleep' I'll feel uncomfortable and quickly adjust myself. marami:Really? Am hearing/reading this for the first time. It's funny but well, it may be true oh |
Meridian:Do you have any good reason why Poster should not take his/her sister to Havana? I think you should simply give your own recommendation and allow poster to make his/her selection. @Poster, you may also visit Humana Hospital, along the road beside Mr. Biggs, directly facing Cadbury at Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos. The MD is a seasoned gynaecologist, and the hospital is equiped with sophisticated equipment. Moreover, the environment will make you want to be on admission there even if you're not sick . Highly expensive depending on the fibroid size (I was charged with N250,000 for my own though I eventually didn't need to do it but I'd have looked for the money to ensure I did it there).Try and survey some of these suggested places before you decide. May God guide you . |

You unwrap all your gifts carefully, so that you can reuse the wrapper. You call a person you've never met before uncle or aunty. More than 90% of the music CD's and cassettes in your home are illegal copies. Your garage is always full of stuff because you never throw anything away, just in case you need it someday.(a gum boot without a partner and the baby walker - baby's now 12 and you are 48) You have a collection of miniature shampoo bottle from your stays at hotels. (Gocool, Sweet heart, African pride, ) You have almost always carried overweight baggage when traveling by plane. If a store has a limit on the quantity of a product, then each member of the family will join separate queues to purchase the maximum quantity possible. (sugar, soap, rice, cooking fat etc etc during old good days) Children have annoying nicknames (De- Boy, De-Girl, Bomboy, Aboy) Nobody in your family informs you that they are coming over for a visit. ( uncle, wife, sis-in-law, two nephews and a neighbour have camped at home). You stuff your pockets with, mints and toothpicks at restaurants. (Murray mints, wrappers, and salt shakers!) Your mother has a minor disagreement with her sister and does not talk to her for 10 years. You only make telephone calls at a cheaper rate at night (especially Flashers). You never have less than 20 people to meet you at the airport or see you off even if it is a local flight. You keep changing your Internet Service Provider because the first month is free. Office supplies mysteriously find their way to your home.(Yes, staple machine, office pins, punch machine, cello tapes, post-its, etc.) When you are young, your parents buy you clothes and shoes at least two sizes too big so that they would last longer. |
kathyekiti:Thanks friend, am grateful to you for being there. Missed you last week, so glad you're back and well. Now I have a fresh complaint, my urine has taken a 'near-lucozade' (yellow) colour in the last 6 days. Ive only been taking my folic acid/calcium/B-Co and ferrous tablets. What could be responsible, and will ordinary increase of my water intake make it clear? Thanks again and remain blessed. |
Krrush:I wonder oh, oya now, go ahead and deputize but no mayhems here o |
Hi Doc, its me again. I happened to be your first patient on this thread. I lost that one and to God be the glory I'm carrying a 20something weeks pregnancy but still with co-existing multiple fibroids. My concern now is the best sleeping position. I've gathered that it should be the left side but the fibroids are on the right side while the fetus is on the left side of my tummy (the occasional kicks and blows so suggest )so when I lay on my left its like am sleeping on the fetus and that the weight of the fibroids is pressing it down.I want to find out if the left side sleep is generally recommended for every pregnant woman or certain peculiarities like mine could give me the liberty to sleep on my back on right side. Am less concerned about my own comfort, what matters more to me is the safety of this precious one. I don't want to take chances. Do I continue on my left side. Thanks for your usual kind responses. |
Quote from: titilaelae on November 24, 2008, 03:34 PMAm pregnant and in my early second trimester. I have multiple fibroids and my doc placed me on a weekly dose of Primolut N injection which I stopped on the 20th week. He didn't tell me the name but I managed to read his scrawl in my my card (hope I got it right). I would say the injection helped though, as I'd lost 3 previous pregnancies in the first trimester. This is my twenty-somethingth week and am going strong. I'm just wondering if the effect of the injection would not be adverse on the fetus. Thanks a bunch. |
maedan:And after all the sweat, they now use hand to mould the pounded yam to serve. Is there a rule that says spoon or 'igbako' must not be used to mould iyan? Talking about sweat, has anybody seen some guys that serve soft drinks at parties (wedding reception especially!)?. They open all the bottles and with the same (dirty) hand put straw into the bottles and off they go, carrying the mineral crate from seat to seat to serve. In the process they become sweaty and am not lying, I once saw with my korokoro eyes one dutiful guy carry out this sweaty assignment and come and see how the unsuspicious guests were rushing the drink! The guy should have at least mopped the sweat with an handky since he couldn't prevent the sweat. Hello kosky, thanks for the good work. What is the effect of Primolut N on pregnancy? Thanks a bunch. Cheers. |
I don't think its cancinogic either but methink the seasoning meant for a pack is too much so I try to use 1/2 or at most 2/3 of it. Tastes better that way ![]() |
KarmaMod: How about blowing air from your mouth into the nylon meant to cook moimoi instead of rubbing it with your palm to open? And tasting the ground beans meant for moimoi and snapping the residual on your finger back into the whole lot? Do you know some women have chewingstick in their mouth while cooking, and they will be going in and out of the kitchen to spit and return to the kitchen, remove chewing stick and taste the soup and continue? Chei, Ive seen it all, orishirishi!!! That's why, for me to in your house, no matter how close you are to me I must have tested and trusted you when it comes to kitchen hygiene! |
