most of you just come here and talk what you like, without been rational. with some even clamouring for a military coup. i will write this boldly so that you can see it properly.

we are allowing callous politicians to incite us because of personal gains. we are allowing our emotions to lead us instead of our brains. but this is what i have to say.

GOODLUCK JONATHAN IS THE LAST CHANCE NIGERIA HAS TO BE TRANSFORMED AND BECOME THE NIGERIA OF OUR DREAMS. IF THIS GOVERNMENT FAILS, NIGERIA WILL FAIL. IF THIS GOVERNMENT FAILS TO SUCCEED, NIGERIA WILL FAIL TO EXIST.

THOSE PRAYING FOR A MILITARY COUP, I HOPE YOUR WISHES ARE GRANTED, WHEN THE WAR STARTS IT WILL AFFECT YOU AS WELL, IF NOT, YOUR FAMILIES WILL BE AFFECTED.

NIGERIANS BE WISE,
Please i will advice any poster not living in Nigeria to just keep mum on this matter and if they must comment,it should be done objectively.

GEJ, keep up the good work changes is hard but it necessary! Subsidy removal (check), salary reduction check (check) keep it coming. Its just unfortuanate pple can see past their nose, these are great decision, I understand its tough for the masses but these meausres are a step in the right direction, Keep the pressure on as far as how the subsidy will be spent. God Bles Nigeria and God Bless those who want better
In as much as i'm tempted to call you unreasonable, i will rather want to enlighten you more on what you and your brainless president are asking Nigerians to do.

1. GEJ wants Nigerianns to pay for the coruptions of the criminals we have in the government sector who smuggle our fuel to neihgbouring countries in match boxrs oh sorry Tankers without been stoped by the law enforcement agencies.
2.The Government is asking Nigerians to suffer for the criminal act of exporting excess crude that are never documented since they know this is the only way to steal our money indirectly.
3. Government is asking Nigerians to suffer for their negligence over the years in allowing the refiniries to deteriorate to this level.
4.Please ask the government to account for the funds accrued from diesel subsidy removal for about 5yrs now and you will see how criminal these governments have been.

Now if they must remove subsidy for whatever crazy reasons they have, must they do it in this manner with over 100% sudden increase?

Is it not reasonable for the government to at least provide stable electricity so that the Barbers,Tailors, small scale enteprenures and the masses wil not need to buy fuel to do their business and enjoy their stay at home after a hard day's job?

Is it not necessary for the government to at least implement a reasonable minimum wage to cushon the effect of sharp incraese in commodites as a result of subsidy removal.

So please Nigerians should understand that even if there is any need to remove subsidy for any baseless reasons, it ought to have been done in a gradual way and Nigerians will understand.

Thank God this EVIL PMS subsidy is gone for good, no matter what NLC/TUC, Civil orgs et all think, this is one in many deregulation plans to come. The corruption in the O & G sector is so bad, it stinks.
People who are free to go about their normal activities should not be molested, Workers who want to go to work can (not all support industrial actions b4 negotiations), transportation will be available, and I believe the police won't have a need to be brutal on anyone except to miscreants trying to hijack the activities of a few to foment trouble or damages.
As for Boko Haram, their time will soon come, God is still on the THRONE!
Nigeria must move forward no matter what and many people will be forced to swallow their words by God's Grace.
Somehow, I still have hope in this country.
And BTW, I think I like some constructive criticisms here on the Govt, it kinda make them accountable (eg: 25% B.S cut).
God Bless NIGERIA and NIGERIANS!!

Obviously this guy is sick. He is still maintaining same crazy stand of subsidy removal.  He is definitely a dulll head. Any right thinking president should understannd that increasing a price of a productr as valuable as fuel by over 100% is never in the interest of the people. He should at least do it gradually nit not at once .

And lets ask the government what they have done with the proceeds generated from subsidy removal of diesel for about 5 yrs now.

It is easy for any criminal in guise of ministers, Governors, senators to support the subsidy removal because they have the funds avalable to throw about.

CRIMINALS.

PoliticsRe: Youth Alliance Group Supports Fuel Subsidy Removal by Toks2008(m): 8:44am On Jan 04, 2012
Maybe they should have removed just a little of the subsidy to fund a few important projects and not so much as is presently the case. Quite unfortunate.

Nigeria needs more money to build the infrastructure , improve security, repair roads  etc. Where do we expect the governement to get this money from

I quite agree.

If subsidy ever needs to be removed, at least they should do it gradually and lets see the impact of the gradual removal but not this way. Over the years, we have had the same case of increment of petrol price yet no real development was seen.

To the Originator / Poster

I am dis-appointed at the way some people brain function and it is quite unfortunate that people that are ignorant of the subject matter are being allowed to post all sort of nonsense on Nairaland, anyway they are just showing off their foolishness in the public.
@Poster please answer this questions:
1. Is UK an oil producing Nation?
2. Is it only the cost of the oil that makes up the price of PMS in the UK?
3. What is the average income capital per head in the UK, what is Nigeria figure?
4. What is the present inflation rate in the UK and that of Nigeria? and the un-employment rate?
5. Do Nigerian Government compare to UK government and what do the government in Nigeria has to offer to it's citizenry
6.How many alternatives do UK have in terms of transportation compare with Nigeria?
7. What social benefit do you enjoy in the UK, how many of such do you enjoy in Nigeria?
8. What have we been able to show for the taxes we are paying except embezzlement?
9. Have you ever slept without power (electricity) before, what is UK power generation compare to Nigeria?
9. Think deeply, close your eyes and look at it again?

Moderator, Pls this type of post does not deserve being on the front page, pls do something about it fast
I quite agree with this poster cos it seems some people just post  nonsense being ignorant of the facts around them.

I believe the original poster knows nothing about OPEC countries.

Lets see the per litre cost of petrol in some OPEC like Nigeria: (simply multily the pence value by N2.53 as 1pence is N2.53k)
Algeria: Algiers – 20p per litre (N50.6K)
Oman: Muscat – 20p per litre
Egypt: Cairo – 19p per litre
Qatar: Doha – 15p per litre
Kuwait: Kuwait City – 14p per litre
Libya: Tripoli – 9p per litre
Saudi Arabia: Riyadh – 8p per litre
And the cheapest in the world is Venezuela: Caracas – 2/3p per litre ( N7.59K) and you could fill up a 70litre tank car with £1.50 which is just about N400 in Nigeria currency.
So lets ask ourselves this Big question' is it impossible to repair our refineries? or is it a terrible thing to be a Nigerian?

See, our leaders are cursed, clueless and utterly confused. Even the so called Ngozi has lost it totally saying one of the reasons for subsidy removal is over population. so sad.

Here we have enough money to create more refineries yet they simply decide to export knowing that is the only way they can steal our money exporting more than is written on paper and sharing excess profits on the non docu, ented exported crude.

The multiplier effect of subsidy removal will make an average family groan let alone a poor family.

Transport fare has trippled and prices of comodities automatically increased never to come down even if they later bring down the litre cost to 120N  which is their main target.

See lets just pray that GOD should bless everyone of us so that we can have the means to live in this cruel world wjere we are been led by occultic members who have no sympathy for human beings.

Who would ever think that Jonathan will be this heartless and hard hearted to inflict this hardship on the people who had so much hope in him.

GOD SAVE NIGERIA.

I don;t care about statistics cos i know its obvious that 98% of fx traders lose their money in the long run.

Access bank will make tons of cash from spreads and commisions no doubt cos many fx traders only know how to do one thing.

LOSE.

So ride on Access bank and join the league of brokers feeding on innocent and ignorant traders expecially Greedy Nigerian traders.

For most of you aspiring to venture into fx trading, please i advice you to take it up as part time business cos you are likelyto lose your equity if you want to depend on this business alone to pay the bills.

Secondly, if you are thinking of making quick profit, please don't even dare trade fx cos its a slow and steady business. Thats my candid advice to you all. Don't believe in most of these so called account managers. Ask them to trade a demo for you for just one month and see wat they come out with. Many fx traders are losers but only few make consistent profits and those few are the ones whi are ok with 5/10% profit on equity on a monthly basis,

Guys lets face it; It is easy to blame Jonathan because we believe he ought to have put drastic measures in place and i agree with that but the truth remains that these set of suicide bombers are hard to tackle.

It is easy to arrest or fight someone who wants to protect his own life but how can you fight someone who is willing to sacrifice his life?

Even America with all their intelligence fell pre to these set of demons from the pit of hell.

From the records we can see that the main targets of these massacre is 90% non northerners so all i can say is for our brothers to come home and leave these people to kill themselves.

Believe me, there will be more bombings as long as our yorubas and igbos brothers remain in the north.

Lets wise up, the president has told us in Plain language that these killings will continue and we should be ready ti bear the burden of seing our beloved ones roasted like nammas. IF YOU HAVE ANY IGBO/YORUBA FAMILY MEMBERS PLEASE TELL THEM TO COME HOME FAST.

Sir - will you support a unilateral increase in University fees all over Nigeria to even the 100k that you are advocating?
If that will raise the standard then so be it.

Haba guys, look arouns you and you will see why this increment is so vital. See guys, im not just posting my opinion but i am making these comments from personal experience.

I graduated with a bachelor's degree in this same school 14yrs back having stidied Microbiology. Do you know that i never set my eyes on Electron microscope through out my 4yr course?

It is always strike every now and then and many of us will stand all through to recieve GNS lecture and we had inadequate lecture halls and i can continue to write on so many inadequacies so why can't we just raise this standard a little.

ACN gives free education from primary to secondary level and decides to hands off tertiary education funding so what.

I believe if the government can implement a flexible mode of payment i believe a pepper seller can afford to pay 250k withing 5/6months peiod.

Lets not be hypocritical here cos i knw that many of use will rather prefer to send our children to the western countries to bag a degree not minding the millions of naira they will spend. Nonsense.

I paid N90 through out my 4yr stay and i saw the rot and low standard of education so please lets make a change.

If you have 4 children that are qualified to for a tertiary education, send one there and let the rest wait or take up vocational jobs in order to save up.

Education is not cheap and this is why No nigerian universities make up top best 50 in world ranking

Wetin dey happen sef? Is it that our leaders are posessed or utterly confused? Even Ngozi has lost it.

Wait friends, please explain to me what is going on maybe im the one who has lost it completely.

Lok at this scenario

"My maternal grand mother makes garri from cassava using her local oven so that she can sell to consumers at very cheap rates then gradually the local oven began to deteriorate and she simply allowed a total damage to the oven and then decids to send the cassava down to lagos to process them to cassava flakes(Garri) then takes them back to ogun state to sell at higher rate telling the people that her local oven is totally damaged and the cost of transport and processing in another state is high. MADNESS! TOTAL INSANITY. The question is why can't she simply repair the local oven and continue to sell at reduced prices.

In my opinion, i believe that our Leaders have lost it totally and i am so so ashamed to be a Nigerian. Dumb people,Crazy nation.

Hmmmm,

Honestly i am so confused on this issue. This is the same institution i paid N90 per session throuh out my 4yr stay yet i i believe it is imperative to understand that so many things have changed over the years.

But one question i keep asking is this" How do we expect to improve the quality of infrastructure and education in totality with 25k not forgetting the fact that they usually tag LASU glorified secondary school back then.

i will only appeal thar Gov Fashola brings down the fee to about 100k making it easier for poor parents to send ther children to school. And if it must remain 250k which i support for some obvious reasons, there should be a modus on ground for installment payments payable within 5 months with a minimum of 100k first payment. Lets face it friends, education is not that cheap.

its just unfortunate that the rich amongst us prefers to pay $10k outside the country and will continue to look down on our institution using same phrase like poor quality of education yet many are not willing to pay huge fee to transform our institutions to world class. What a shame.

May GOD help Nigeria
BusinessRe: Forex Trading Vs Nigerian Factor. Who Wins? by Toks2008(m): 10:42am On Nov 29, 2011
Seems most posters here are very miopic in terms of auto trading.

Do you have a good and trusted trading method? if you have then you can develop it into an EA or robot and let it trade for you as though you are the one doing that.

When people hear the word robot, they have this bizzarre feeling of one crazy irrational thing executing trades but that is not so.

Why it is necessary to build your manual trading method into robot is because of the human factor in trading talking about fear and greed.

No matter how hard you try, greed is a monster that is so so so big to conquer for many traders but your EA will not place crazy lot as you already have a specified lot size inputed. and your EA will not hold on to positions when not necessary.

I hope this pice of info helps.
